S3 EP6 (thoughts + theories)
I want to get all the insane predictions out so I can look back on how much I clowned.🤡
These are ideas based on the moments that were in the trailer/teasers/stills. Or things that I feel might be addressed before the end...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hillerska closing down🏫
We aren't directly told what Felice said in her interview. It's left ambiguous. So why wouldn't they tell us? Sure, there's a chance that she just praised the school but....
we got that very small snippet of the forest ridge boys yelling at each other. Could this be because they heard that Hillerska was going to shut down?
Simon (and his family) might move away 👋
they have the money now ig. this could be a reason why the ending, as ive seen around, has occasionally been described as 'open'.
this could be the context behind the shot of Linda's head on Simon's shoulder.
or maybe the 3 of them are doing smthn related to micke?
Abdication or King Wille? And August...👑
I think one of the reasons for August's storyline this season was for us to understand him more as a character so that if he becomes King, we know that he'll actually try or that he may not have been as bad as we thought. (my opinion of August isn't necessary here).
we really see how much the monarchy consumes Wille this season. Though I don't know how we'd approach the topic of abdication in just one episode.
wille has said that one of the reasons he wants to remain Crown Prince is bcos of Erik. Knowing what we now know, i'm intrigued as to what will happen.
will they acknowledge more of August's eating disorder?
August and Sara🤔
I think felice will (eventually) be fine with it. I don't know about Simon.
Things will work out, i'm sure.
Frederika and Stella💵
....they'll kiss in ep6. something will happen between them, anyway.
Shot of the 4 girls hugging
frederika has realises she likes stella by this point??
Roussea?🐎
maybe Roussea will get a slight mention in a conversation with August. Or maybe not. Who knowwwss
Wilmon screaming in the car🚗
is this Sara's car? things need to be okay by this point, right? is it after the lake scene??
Wilmon stare down👀
how? will ? this? fit? in?
is it after the graduation ceremony but before the neon party and the lake scene? does the shot of wille (with simon's hands around his neck) come after this?
is the lake scene not the final scene? is this scene actually the next day during the graduation?
does simon tell wille he's going to move away?
Tumblr media
The Neon Party + Lake Scene 💧
the neon party is where they reconcile.
BUT i dont think it'll be a full reconcile. Simon's line 'Can't we just forget everything that's happened? Just for tonight?' makes sense to be here.
the lake scene with the swimming could happen because they both leave the party early, i dunno.
is this the last time they're able to hang out (bcos simon is moving away and bcos Hillerska will shut down)?
but we've all SEEN that it looks sad, which doesnt look all that great for endgame, and we've also been told that this is (most likely) the final scene. so. get tissues ready.
(am i crazy or is there a tiny smile on simons face in this scene? from that edmar promo we got? )
swimming happens after the sadness right? bcos (apart from the tears) they dont look wet.
if its the final scene idk what the hopes r for wilmon endgame icl
MUSIC (+Wille's birthday present)🎶
we know that 'Alice' by Rhys will play at some point. Doesn't mean it'll be a wilmon scene. it could be sara and august OR frederika and stella (?)
normally, there's a song in ep4 that's repeated in the final moments of the season. ep 4 in s3 doesn't end with a song and (from the one check I've done), i can't really hear any of the other songs used in that episode as the final song of the season. then again, i could be wrong
ELIAS SONG?? they could play 'revolution' again to make it a full circle (dont think this will happen tho). they might use a new song. i just rlly hope we'll hear an Elias song and...i feel like we will.
THE TRAILER SONG? I really pray this will be in the episode. I pray i pray i pray i-
we'll hear Simon's new song. I don't know how or when (especially if this is simon's gift to wille) but...c'mon
initially, i didn't think Redlight would appear in YR. Omar has a career outside of the show, but i do agree that the lyrics fit wilmon quite well. also, if we're gonna hear Simon's new song then I don't know how the script would work around Simon singing another song. He told Wille that his present isn't yet finished (which im sure is the song simon is currently working on), tho ig we could argue that he may sing a brand new song.
BUT then i realised that simon doesn't have to sing this song. redlight could just be part of the soundtrack ( it seems that everyone got to that conclusion before me). and the way that it's being promoted this week has me suspicious. I don't wanna get my hopes up, and maybe Omar is just being clever and promoting it during the week of YR hype, so i dont think redlight will be in s3. BUT I WILL BE VERY HAPPY IF IM WRONG❤️
ig we'll find out when the playlist gets updated
Football Field Scene
to my knowledge, we haven't got proof that they filmed there apart from that pic from Lisa (and are we sure this pic is from s3 filming?)
it would be AMAZING if they returned to this setting. ICONIC.
but idk how why they'd return here and how it would fit
it might not be a wilmon scene (could be simon + rosh + ayub, but i think theres a higher chance of it being a wilmon scene than the trio)
question- lisa said it was a wrap with a pic from the football field. which COULD mean that the last scene they filmed was there (tho it might not be the actual final scene) - was this where edmar couldn't stop crying?
💜WILMON ENDGAME?💜
they better or im going to riot
no but srsly, i dont think we'll go down a 'la la land' route. worst comes to worst, it'll be a positive open ending e.g. 'you were amazing. you'll be wonderful. we'll meet again with more freedom.' it'll be even better if there's a time skip here hahahha
like the end of ep5 gave me no hope cos idk how they're gonna get back together in one episode. but anything is possible.
arguably, the promo we've got since then leans towards endgame (?), but i dont think they'd reveal they're gonna be endgame if there wwen't gonna be more issues.
EXTRA
theres so much to cover in the final episode!! so i dont think everything will be acknowledged/addressed. things will be left ambiguous to keep the viewers thinking.
imagine if the break up at the end of ep5 wasnt that huge. that theyre still together (with tension) at the start of ep6, then they kidna ignore their disagreement. this culminates until the end, where they break up ( but very unlikely)
the future letters were there to show august's past. but could there be more to it? could we get a time skip? (again, unlikely imo. but would be sweet if done well)
a reference to the heart simon drew? maybe? probably not...
will simon give wille his orange jumper back? id love to see this on our screens but im sure we wont.
will sara's necklace make a comeback?
where does wille's 'what if I don't want to?' line come in? and the queen's line...
the shot of wille in the library (with that book in clear sight) hasn't yet appeared, right?
simon talking to sara by micke's house....hmmm. i would love a simon and micke interaction
volleyball scene + running into the lake happen as a connection to graduation?
wille with those sunglasses is a moment with felice?
do we hear anything more abt wille's birthday wish?
EXTRA .2
there are plenty of moments that happen that we don't see as viewers. so that jumper simon wears at the start of ep 2 looks like wille's. and if it is, then we didnt see the moment simon stole it wille gave it to him.
and when simon mentioned a mental health foundation, it implied that they may have had a discussion abt wille's anxiety before.
the piano scene in ep2 could have been a piano lesson that wille was giving simon, which probably means a lot more of these happened without us knowing
this makes me wonder how much wille knows about micke??
simon told august that sara's with her dad and all that- so does wille also know?
WHEN I FIRST WATCHED AND FINISHED S1 AND S2 OF YOUNG ROYALS, i knew wilmon would be together by the end of s3. like i was 100% convinced the show would end with them happy bcos that's what it had leaned towards the entire time. the vibe of it just screamed wilmon endgame to me.
i really hope past me was right, bcos the s3 promo really had me wondering. and then ep5 had me proper questioning. but netflix (and lisa) will have to pay for so much therapy if they arent endgame sooo🤷‍♀️
livelovelaugh wilmon ig
edit: ive just listened to omar's interview and now im qquuiiitteee sure redlight wont be in ep6🤷‍♀️
edit 2: will anyone else find out that it was august who posted the video?? will this prevent him from taking the throne??

so about alizath...
tl;dr alizath is a northern country in the same world as paramour (paramour & all the gunn sibling stories just take place in galeré which is a country to the southeast, and map will exist sooner or later) but takes place AFTER all the events of empire, which is the last book in the fall of galeré (which is what the entire quad of books is gonna be called. in order it’s: paramour, requiem for the monochrome, prim & provocative, then empire). unlike paramour’s steampunk and modern wealth vibes, alizath is a colder region based more around magic and witches and the like but like paramour it’s still a scramble of messy families and nobility nonsense.
alizath is also heavily based on the app game helix waltz (with my own spin of course, rest in peace bc the game is no longer around tm) and a loose usage of the whole fae seasonal-court structure.
there are 4 prominent families that each rule a court of seasons, and other smaller noble families and peasants pledge allegiance to whichever family is heading that court in that region. over all of the families however and to instill a sense of “fairness” is the parliament of the people, which is made up of elected representatives that is supposed to keep these power hungry nobles in check. do it work tho? do it? (it don't tbh LMAO)
so, to simplify the plot/how we get here:
30 years ago, the Sunniva family's patriarch, Lord Biand Sunniva was abdicated from his position as lord of The Brass Autumn court. This was because he was determined to be responsible for the slaying of the Prime Minister of Alizath, and he accepted banishment instead of being tried for this crime. However, Lord Sunniva insists that he was framed by Lord Dominiq Ekber Atherton, the patriarch of The Iron Spring, who is well known for his bloodlust, political aggression, and determination to turn Alizath into a singular monarchy. Lord Sunniva goes to a Witch of the Wilds and receives a prophecy on how he can return to Alizath and get revenge on his rival.
His plan starts with receiving aid from the new lord of The Brass Autumn, Lord St. Jora, who has left his main position of power in Alizath in the hands of his eldest son Viscount Juven St. Jora (the main love interest) while he travels the world. He promises to help Lord Sunniva, however, he does not specify why he is willing to do so.
In accordance with this prophecy, Lord Sunniva adopts a young half-witch girl, naming her Kirsi Sunniva (our mc) and places her in the care of his sister Lady Jeanna Sunniva. Lady Jeanna teaches Kirsi everything she needs to know about how to navigate the social scene of Alizath to restore the good will to the Sunniva family name. She is kept in the dark about the nature of her birth (Kirsi assumes that she is Lord Sunniva's blood daughter) and what she is (Kirsi has no knowledge that she is a half-witch) and the true reasons behind what she's doing.
Kirsi and Lady Jeanna return to Alizath, with Lady Jeanna using the pseudonym Miss Annaje Ivannus and taking the role of Kirsi's governness, and Kirsi begins to slowly enter the social scene, with strict instructions to stay as far away from The Atherton's as possible. Her connections, friends, and potential suitors, and exposure to the underbelly of Alizath's political corruption, will teach her more than what any of them were prepared for.
so yeah das it. i have a full character list i can post in a few but i figured the overall plot should have its own lil space.

young royals s3e4 episode reaction
okay, this is already stressful
you know what? linda makes sense. i do think they should move. they have the settlement money, i understand community is important but they're all sooooo far beyond thinking of just community. for safety reasons they really should move.
"the police can't do anything?" bro can't you? you're the goddamn crown prince???? do something??????
"had they done this to me they would've seen it as a threat to the nation" YEAH WELL I MEAN
"and you're my boyfriend, so" ok
listen I understand this is serious
but every time they call each other boyfriend my brain goes into hibernation mode and I can't focus on anything else
they're BOYFRIENDS
aaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
"I'll talk to the royal court" THANKS WILLE
though tbf I feel like the royal court might agree that they should probably move lol
like if i had that kinda money and I knew my kids were in danger I'd be leaving the goddamn country
of course vincent is drawing a dick in the sand. that man is just *so* predictable lmao
oh man in all this I forgot about the bitter divorce plot between felice and sara
ISN'T THERE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST oh boy vincent if you Knew
NOT SIMON SAYING HE'D PREFER A DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED HEAD OF STATE IN FRONT OF HIS BOYFRIEND, THE FUTURE NON-DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED HEAD OF STATE
LMFAAAAOOOOOOOFKDLFJDKFJSLFJSLFJDLFKSL
"you're so fucking pathetic" "😘" okay that was the funniest exchange in the planet
like. fuck vincent. all my homies hate vincent. but my man is so goddamn hilarious even when he's being a pathetic dick
NOT VINCENT KSKFKSKFLSKFDKJFDKKF STOP THATS HILARIOUS
I can excuse demonstrations but I draw the line at them being done by poor people
oh. oh SHIT
OH SHIT
"can you?" oh FUCK
oh this is insane I can't believe they're having this conversation
YOU SOUND LIKE JAN-OLOF AAHSKFJDKFJDKFJDKF
oh baby that is Not a real job jdkgjfkgjdkgjdkf
dya think edvin was like saying those lines thru his teeth like "yes the monarchy is good and has a place in modern society actually"
ugh I want wilmon to be endgame so fucking bad but the more this season goes on the more I'm realizing they're simply too incompatible and idk how they're gonna solve this unless one of them compromises way too fuckin much
#abdication pls tho
what kind of life is that? 😭
"it's a privilege not a punishment" ok mr kristina
tbf to simon i feel like if i was already anti monarchy and started dating the crown prince whose life problems begin and end with the monarchy I would be even MORE for abolition.
like before it was more of a general sense. now it's fuckin personal. free wille
shouldn't they exclude the literal future king of sweden from this exercise about future?? like we all already know what he's gonna end up doing lol.
god this is gonna be so bad
who's this flustered ass boy and what did he do with cunt august???
YOU NEED TO HELP SIMON - ok
that felt too easy?
oh. okay I'm sorry is ludwig not his own person? can't he attend his own son's damn birthday???
AND AUGUST????????????? YOU CAN'T BE FR
every time farima is on screen it takes another year off my life
until jan-olof pointed it out I didn't notice how genuinely unsafe the eriksson house is but damn
simon said "okay" way too easily. I don't like that.
I mean like, honestly, farima is right and he needs to lay low, but also I know simon isn't gonna do that shit and it worries me
they keep having these absurdly serious conversations and it keeps Not blowing up and I'm afraid when it blows up it's gonna be super ugly
I like simon's idea of mental health in young people tho! I get what he means re: lgbtq+ issues but I also think wille is right in that he can't represent all ~the queers just bc he's in love with a boy yk
I get them both and they both have their merits. I also think wille is making a huge change just by being out and I'd be really fuckin annoyed if I was a public figure and had to do shit for the queers just bc i was also queer like no. idk. i get them both. I'm more on wille's side on this one.
but also fuck that thing about supporting lgbtq+ issues being a political statement. I hate that he's right. it shouldn't be political.
NOT GOING ON STRIKE JSKFJDKFJDKFUDKFJ DISGUSTING
vincent is such a lil bitch
if i were simon i would literally just. take the bus back home. that's it fuck them rich kids I can't deal with the bullshit.
SO YOU CAN ONLY TAKE A STAND WHEN IT DOESN'T COST YOU ANYTHING????????
BROOIFJDLFJDKFJDKFJDK WRECK HIM SIMON
god that was delightful. it was a delight. i need simon to keep this specific energy all the time because oh my god this episode is incredible.
oh and he's also wrecking sara? can we bring the other guy back so he can, in colombian, cantarle las verdades en la cara? like simon has enough fists for everyone. bring the queen in. bring fuckin erik so he can tell him off for dying
the strike looks very cozy. i wish real strikes looked like that. rich people are so funny.
so lady from the incredibles' response is to starve a bunch of rich kids including the crown prince? is she aware of the consequences of that?
oh he gave up
JALFJSLFK FOR A LOLLIPOP?
I love rich kids. they're so funny. so stupid.
"don't you find it nice to be hungry sometimes?" FIND A GODDAMN THERAPIST AUGUST. JESUS CHRIST.
"that sounds like an eating disorder" FINALLY. MY FUCKING GOD.
they do kinda sound like a fun group of friends. that was a bit of a genuine moment. I liked that.
aaaand back at being snakes. gr8.
awww my babies who are total opposites
wilhelm could really learn more from simon actually
OH NO HE'S SO HUNGRY DKFIDIFIDU
THREE HUNDRED CROWNS SJDLSJFIDJFKSJFLSJFLSUFODJFOSKDL
STOODKGLDJGLDIG
THAT'S LIKE LORD OF THE FLIES IN THERE THEYRE GONNA MURDER AUGUST AND EAT HIM
JDKFJSKFJSKFJSKFKDKFJDLFKDK FREDRIKA
NOT DICKS OUT FOR HILLERSKA IM LOSING MY MISNFKDLFKDKFKDLFKFLGKFLFKFLFKDLFK
like a pair of lil street urchins, those two. I love them
"did you sleep well?" "no. did you?" "no" my BABY BOYS
NOT CLUTCHING THE CHIPS TO HIS CHEST SJFKDJFKSJFLSKFLDK
hm. so a group of people striking actually got what they wanted? Wonder if there's any lesson to learn.
IN A BATHROOM? are they gonna KISS???
"I'm so thankful you were my first real friend" oh. my god.
i have managed to make it fully unscathed so far but that simple sentence sent me into a sobbing spiral oh my god
oh go d
"since when do you care what the royals think?" "since I learned what it means to be with one of them" oh. ooooohohohohohoho
he's gonna write him a song isn't it
rosh and ayub are the realest. honestly. such real ones. day ones. I love them
is this gonna be couples therapy ooooooo let's GO
oh
I mean, idk, that reveal doesn't really hit hard bc obviously if it happened to august and nils then it had to be erik's class, right?
it's the bashing that's horrifying. erik would have participated in beating someone up for the slightest inkling of being gay that is horrifying
oh my god yeah nvm that hit super hard. wille. oh no. oh god.
fuckkkkk

Ok so I'm ok with season two and I do need a season three but I have many complaints. I cannot say I'm not disappointed. This is a complaints post so if you absolutely love it & will defend everything the production team done then don't read either. This is meant to be critical.
⚠️ This post contains MAJOR season 2 spoilers. ⚠️
-----------
I will start with the two major lazy writings I absolutely hates. And go on with other things I think they could've improved.
1. Felice and Wille making the same mistake they made in S1. Making out then feel wrong about it and go back to be best friends. Even if they just cuddles in bed being platonic when Henry walks in, Henry can still spread the rumors and achieve the same effect. I feel like the screentime will be better contributed to Felice's own character development instead of being Wilhelm's not-so-platonic cuddle buddy. Where is Felice's mom? What about Felice's hair? Does her mother has something to say about that?
2. August being the next in line is JUST LAZY. As the SECOND cousin of Wilhelm so many people have to be dead or non existing for August to be the next in line. The Queen has to have ZERO sibling or dead siblings without children for her dead cousin's child to be the next in line right after her own children. This is just convenient and lazy writings. Also, according to the real world Swedish laws only the current Monarch's direct descendants can be the next monarch. According to the real world laws, if Wilhelm abdicates when the parliament is under the control of a non-royalist party then Sweden is very likely to become a republic and thus ends the monarchy completely. I think the real world scenario is more stressing than the fictional convenient plot of AugUSt bEing thE next IN Line/bacKup pLan.
3. Poor Markus being so disposable and unimportant. So many build up between him and Simon and he just gets thrown away like that.
4. Too much screentime of August/Sara relationship. While they are the major plot driver of this season & I'm fine with knowing what stages their relationship is at but I, as an audience, do not need all those sweet intimate scenes between them. I rather have this screentime contributes to Wilmon or Felice.
5. No enough memoriable Wilmon scenes. Remember in season one we have the first kiss, the piano scene, the football scene, the morning after scene, the fish scene, the saint Lucia hug/kiss scene. In season two it's just one passionate make out/sex scene that's not nearly as well done as any wilmon scene in S1. One of the reasons so many people were drawn to S1 was how skillfully and beautifully the Wilmon scenes were done. And they chose to cut down what they are best at doing by lots.
6. Poor Micke's plot just gets forgotten? Other than his name on the drug bottle he's basically non existent when he's clearly a major plot driver in S1?
7. Simon agrees to be a secret just sadden me. While I understand why he doesn't report to the police bc of Sara, I don't get why he just agrees to be the secret when he complains about everything has to be on Wille's term in S1. It feels like they ran out of screentime and wilmon have to be back together at the end of S2. Even tho Wille ultimately decides to come out in the end. Having Simon agreed to make sacrifice first breaks my heart.
3/5 for season two. Will watch the next season but still disappointed ☹️

Hello hello I would like a reading!
I haven't had a reading from someone who wasn't myself or a friend of mine so this will be interesting :)
Love your tarot decks btw! Honestly this whole tarot night thing has just reminded me that my tarot decks have been collecting dust 😅 (I should really pick up tarot again tho it's been a while)
Thank you! I love my growing collection, and I think it's such a fun thing to get into. I hope you do pick it up again!
Tumblr media
(The Emperor (reversed), Three of Swords, The Star)
Ah... Not. A promising start, I'll admit, though there's a hopeful ending.
Real talk, are you okay? Is everything going all right in your life? The Emperor, when reversed, tends to speak to someone in power not using it well. This could mean that you're abusing your own power, or just refusing to use it effectively... but paired with the Three of Swords, which almost uniformly speaks to pain, grief, and very literal heartbreak... Is someone hurting you?
This combination really does seem to indicate some kind of abuse. This could be coming from really anyone abusing their power or abdicating it when they really should be taking responsibility. A boss who's abusing their authority... A parent who is being unkind to you or refusing to care for you how you deserve... A partner who is leveraging unhealthy power dynamics in your relationship... A friend who is abusing your trust... The possibilities are really endless here, and endlessly concerning at that.
I don't know what's going on in your life and would never presume to ask, but... if someone is hurting you in some way, reach out, okay? Is there someone in your corner helping you out? Do you need to just vent? I offer this a lot when I'm doing tarot readings, but seriously, if you just need to talk, I'm always willing to chat.
The good news is that the last card to come up is The Star. This is a gentle card of relief and hope. It's the calm after the storm, so to speak. Bad things pass, and there is hope for the future. Things will be okay, okay? Maybe not how you expect and maybe not when, but don't give up. The stars are starting to come out on the horizon. 💜

Sorry for Spam (1) After suckin it up and playing thru Ei + Kokos Qs (Must reach Itto) I sadly realise they had potential. Shoguns doubt, her witnessing how humans change (resist her) naturally, which plays into Inazuma’s theme of resistance (Every day resistance vs political and military resistance) was cool imo. Holding out for abdication arc.But it was buried under weird date imagery, genshins giant paragraphs, n contradicted by pt 2. In pt 2, Ei forgets all doubt, regret, n contemplation.
Suddenly, people don’t matter nothings her fault. Its all the kujou clan, not like Ei coulda just stepped outside and fixed everything. (did she know abt the fatui or not!?) Its like 2 diff teams wrote the Q! If u took 1 part n made the whole Q, it could be good w polish, but together theyre too confused. I actually see where theyre going with Koko’s Q, but I never read Romance 3 Kingdoms, so its lost on me. Dracaena Somnolenta (sleepin dragon), is the name of Zhuge Liang, military advisor n chancellor, but not ruler. Kokomi seems 2 b cute anime Zhuge Liang, thrust into ruler (Liu Bei) position. All she wants is to advise n strategise, but instead shes gotta deal with appearances, burnout, expectations, n doesn’t trust enough to delegate work (also like Zhuge Liang). She’s PINING 4 a Liu Bei to take the weight off. Problems, interesting as I find the concept, she don’t have the personality to carry it. She’s too dainty, cute n waifu. She cant b smart, resentful, or god forbid bloodthirsty, (too ooc for Zhuge Liang?) I think it’d be funny, tho. Let Koko go apeshit. Her kit is half Childe, so she clearly wants to. Also appreciate the accidental foiling of Koko and Ei. Koko cares abt people, Ei dont. Koko can't delegate, Ei delegates to Tri Comm. Koko is forgiving, Ei stabs all rebels. If Mhy realised the foil, would they invert roles? Swap roles? Would Kokomi simp 4 someone who deserves it? like Venti?
Ei is a complete nightmare of a character. Her complete lack of agency and culpability within the game completely shatters any interest I might have in her. The extent to which the game tries to excuse her of any wrongdoing and reduce her to a character that needs you, the super special Traveller uwu, to save her and show her the wrongs she's allowed to happen is honestly nauseating.
It's not even that her people resisting her even matters - she says that she already knew people didn't like what was happening - it's that you were so special as to show her! But the thing about Ei not being treated as being responsible for anything means that no-one can blame her for anything, and that means that everyone else in Inazuma has to be the kind of person that would allow her to get away with doing what she did, which means that everyone in Inazuma must be a doormat.
How to put this. Genshin has this habit of sanding the edges off it's playable characters, you know? Anything dubious must be removed. Any bad things must simply be implied, or otherwise shoved under the rug as much as possible. It wasn't really Ei's fault all this bad stuff is happening and uh, also, wow the NPC Kujou Clan-
Hey, do you think Childe faced any actual consequences for what happened in Liyue? Do you think we'll ever actually see him be half as manic as his profile would imply? Will he ever even kill someone that didn't deserve it or at all? 'Cause I kinda doubt it!
Kokomi can't be resentful or bloodthirsty, because that would mean Ei would have to be treated as responsible for something she did so as to justify Kokomi feeling this way. So because we can't blame Ei, we must make Kokomi the kind of person that would forgive her even if that is actively less interesting.
And you know what? That's boring as hell. Genshin characters are boring as hell. I always look at them and see all the ways they could be interesting if only Mihoyo was willing to make them be messy, but instead I get admirable mature characters that have already completed their character arcs or are willing to turn the other cheek.
Kokomi is a human girl that worships a God that was killed by Ei centuries ago. She is waging war she cannot win against a god and has only survived this long because that god has not directly engaged her. That is super interesting! Kokomi has reason to want revenge, to feel despair, to be crushed by the pressure of knowing she's expected to somehow pull out a victory against an impossible opponent because what's the alternative? Letting Ei do as she pleases in Watatsumi again?
I played Kokomi's quest thinking I could have really liked her if she'd been written better. Unfortunately, we got this.
Ei is a god trying to force her own inhuman perspective onto her human subjects in a way that is simply incompatible with their way of life! She's blocked them off from the outside world and is reducing the people to mere husks of themselves - why is it that everyone is so calm about this, or rather, isn't it horrifying that everyone is so used to Ei that it doesn't even occur to them to fight back? When the god next door decides to uproot your way of life, what can you even do about it?
These are interesting things to tackle! There are cool things you can do! But in refusing to engage with Ei as someone that should face consequences for her actions, Inazuma and every character in it has to suffer.
God, there is no way Mihoyo noticed any similarities between Kokomi and Ei. I doubt they were even really thinking about anything besides how they were going to justify letting Ei off the hook by the end of it.
Itto's quest is solidly okay though. Shoutout to Itto for being the only dude in Teyvat that a) doesn't fall all over himself to lick our shoes and b) doesn't need us to get shit done.

This is a super long Headcanon about Austria’s and Hungary’s relationship. It’s connected to my Austria’s Sexual Preferences HC.
WARNING for Austria being an ass, angst, toxic relationship patterns and some upsetting historical stuff like war and military dictatorships. If you love fluffy cute AusHun and hate that stuff, it may just not be your cup of tea :-).
A quick rundown of some Hungary/Austria history:
“In early stages (1500s) the lands that were ruled by the Habsburg Hungarian kings were regarded as both “the Kingdom of Hungary” and “Royal Hungary”. Royal Hungary (…) was de facto a Habsburg province.” (wiki)
“Rákóczi’s War of Independence (1703–11) was the first significant attempt to topple the rule of the Habsburgs over Hungary. The war was fought by a group of noblemen, wealthy and high-ranking progressives and was led by Francis II Rákóczi. The insurrection was unsuccessful, ending with the Treaty of Szatmár; however, the Hungarian nobility managed to partially satisfy Hungarian interests.” (wiki)
Later on Joseph II Habsburg (1765–1790), Holy Roman Emperor and the Archduke of Austria, abolished local governments in countries that were parts of the Habsburg empire, including Hungary. He established German as the official language of Hungary and divided the country into 10 parts, ignoring the historical divisions that existed until then. He unified Hungarian and Austrian administrations. All of this was met with opposition from some of the strongest groups in Hungary (like the magnates and the Magyar nobility), but they were ignored. Austro-Hungarian conflict was something that has been stewing in the background of the Habsburg empire for years and revolutions were not unheard of. All of this came to a head in 1848 when the Hungarian Revolution began and the Austro-Hungarian war followed.
The biggest event that kick-started the revolution was the illegal act of revoking Hungarian April Laws by the Austrian monarch. April laws were laws established by the Hungarian parliment and ratified by the last Hungarian king (bc even tho under Austrian rule, the Kingdom of Hungary still had some autonomy, such as the parliament). Their aim was to modernize Hungary into a parliamentary democracy. The new Austrian monarch, Francis Joseph, didn’t like that and revoked them. This was a completely illegal act, he had no right nor authority to overwrite the hungarian parliment - but he still did. This really crossed the line with the Hungarians, who - as mentioned above - already had some problems with the way Austria was domineering over Hungary and history of revolting. So it began: “Hungarians brought 12 demands to the Austrian leadership, among them freedom of the press, civil and religious equality, and a national bank. A bloodless revolution took place on March 15, 1848, and the first independent Hungarian government was formed with Lajos Batthyány as Prime Minister.” The revolution itself was bloodless, but the war that followed wasn’t. Austria got help from Russia and the combined Russian and Austrian armies ended up winning the conflict. Hungary was yet again under complete Habsburg control. After Hungary lost, it was put under brutal martial law by Austria and Hungarian generals and members of the parliament were executed, including Lajos Batthyány who - ironically - was trying to reach some kind of agreement with the Habsburg dynasty throughout the revolution. They thanked him with a firing squad. Stay classy, Roderich. Very heavy taxation was put on the Hungarian people as punishmen. All of this was a deciding factor in how the future Hungarian/Austrian relations looked like - the “Hungarian problem” became one of the hottest issues for the Hapsburg monarchy for years to come. The military dictatorship and absolutist rule that Austria introduced over Hungary lasted for 18 years and ended in ‘67 with the Austro-Hungarian Compromise, in which a dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary was established. “The territorial integrity of Kingdom of Hungary was restored. The Compromise partially re-established the former sovereignty of the Kingdom of Hungary, however being separate from, but no longer subject to the Austrian Empire. The agreement also restored the old historic constitution of the Kingdom of Hungary.” (wiki)
Why did Austria agreed to the compromise after almost 20 years of martrial law and terror? WELL “As a consequence of the Second Italian War of Independence and the Austro-Prussian War, the Habsburg Empire was on the verge of collapse in 1866, as these wars caused monumental state debt and a financial crisis. The Habsburgs were forced to reconcile with Hungary, to save their empire and dynasty.”
Headcanon: I personally HC that Austria and Hungary got married in 1570 as a direct result of the personal union between both countries. Until then, the Kingdom of Hungary was ruled by two kings: one Hungarian, and one Austrian, but in 1570s the Hungarian king abdicated in favor of the Austrian ruler. And ever since, until the Habsburg empire fell apart, the Austrian monarch was also crowned as the Hungarian king. So I consider this event the beginning of their marriage. (I’ll explain why I moved the marriage this early at the end of the post. Hint - for narration purposes :D to me a HC has to create a coherent story first and foremost)
They did love each other, and tho their marriage was mostly a political union, they were both happy to start a life together as husband and wife. But the relationship itself was unhealthy, especially for Hungary.
The simplest way I can explain how I see it is: a young, naivee woman in love marries a controlling man, who also loves her, but still wants to completely dominate her. She is shocked by the reality of mariage with him but tries to accept the new way things are now (still, the hungarian revolution of early 1700s shows that internally, she has a problem with the lack of equality).
She convinces herself that her rebellious tendencies are the real problem here, as this is what he tells her, and tries to become the Perfect Wife.
The marriage is a long one and deteriorates very slowly, from Happily In Love, through Disappointment and then Growing Resentment, into an open conflict and the escalation of toxicity. So a story as old as time.
Longer version: Austria was controlling and saw himself as the authority in their relationship: she was to listen to him, never argue with him, speak German to him, be proper and refined and play by HIS rules. She was to completely leave her old customs and ways of life behind (she was a free-spirited horse-riding warrior, he wanted a proper lady in a corset who only speaks about the weather, music and art. Austrian, preferably. She wanted to feel the wind in he hair, he though that was inappropriate. etc).
There was no place for equality here and there was no place for her true nature either. He only accepted her more wild self when he needed military help from her, but then she was to put on her (Austrian) gown again. This was a shock for an outspoken, independent and strong woman, but Hungary at first did believe that this was the best for her (’we’re stronger together’ etc).
Also, she was really in love. To the point of being willing to give up many of her freedoms and passions to be “the perfect mate” Austria expected her to be. She lost a lot of herself during those long years of trying to please him. After all, there was a lot about Austria she admired - he was artistic, subtle, refined, had this air of royalty about him. He could be such a gentleman - she was not used to being treated like a lady, as she was always “one of the guys”, and truly enjoyed it. She LOVED his music. He gave her expensive gifts and composed sonatas and poetry for her. Etc. But still - she wanted equality and to be seen for who she really is, and he was only willing to be the dashing gentleman when she played the role of the quiet, obedient SO. Resentment and anger rose in her and her romantic love and attraction for Austria began to rot away. The Perfect Wife role was at first something she got used to and though she could pull off, but with time, it got more and more frustrating.
When in 1848 the Austrian monarch decided to illegally overwrite her parliament - it was a boiling point for her. She saw red and grabbed her weapon. Tho the attempts of her leader, Lajos Batthyány, to work out a compromise with the Austrian monarch tell me that she did still want to make the marriage work and still hoped that they could become a better couple - just on different terms. But, of course, Austria was not into that. The total fallout of their relationship at this point might have seem unexpected to some, as they did pretend to be the Perfect Power Couple when in front of others, and she was discreet with her angst. But in reality this tension has been rising for years and the marriage has been an unhappy one for some time now.
And from Austria’s side, the sad reality was - he married a woman that was just too strong. That’s why he put such drastic measures in place after the Revolution failed - he wanted to dominate her once and for all and have his Perfect Marriage. He didn’t do it because he was vengeful or evil, he was just selfish and egocentric. In some messed up way, he thought she still could be happy with him, IF ONLY SHE DID WHAT HE TOLD HER TO.
The war and the brutal dictatorship that followed the Revolution were the darkest time in their relationship. It pretty much ended the intimacy they had. During this period they would get into loud arguments, throw things, he would then punish her by being even more controlling, she would take revenge in small ways like ruining his fav shirts by accident and started to think about a divorce. When Austria lost his wars with Prussia and Italy - she was on top of that, pretty much immediately demanding more rights. He had no strength to oppose her at this point. She even felt sorry for him, seeing how weak and wounded he was. Some old feelings resurfaced. The relationship abruptly got better, as she helped him heal while he began treating her better. He apologized for the way he treated her. He said that being at the brink of death made him realize the errors of his way. She was happy and agreed to re-new their vowes (the beggining of Dual Monarchy) - but she never forgot how ugly he could act. Things were never the same again. Something in the romantic relationship just died for her - most importantly, she never trusted him again. He could say all he wanted about how he’s sorry and would never do it again, the reality was - and she recognized it - that he only said those things when he was scared of death and desperately need her. When he was strong and felt well, he held her in an iron fist and forced martial law on her. The Dual Monarchy began, but the the romance was over. They still played the roles of hudband and wife in front of others, but slept in different beds.
This is tragic, because the love they had for each other was real. It was just totally ruined by Austria’s need to be in control of the relationship and inability to see her as an equal. They had totally incompatible ideas of how the relationship should look like.
When they divorced after WW1, Hungary did not suffer. To her, the divorce already happened - she mentally divorced him years ago, all that was left was a husk of the marriage and an old ring. For Austria, it was worse, as he still hoped they could rebuild and was forced to accept the rality that nope, its not happening. He took it badly.
Today they are exes that consider each other friends but Hungary would never want to return to a romantic relationship with him, as she believes that even tho Austria seems more chill nowadays, he would not be able to keep his controlling tendencies in check. This whole thing taught her that she never wants to change for a man.
The relationship between them is very complex and runs deep - tho they had their share of conflicts and toxicity, that does not mean good things never happened. They also know each other incredibly well and there is closeness there that neither of them wants to let go of.
Explanation: I moved their wedding from the birth of Austro-Hungary to an earlier date, because to me personally it makes more sense narration-wise. I don’t think Hungary would ever agree to marry him if the Revolution of 1848 and the bloody martial law already happened - this, to me at least, reads more like a dramatic conclusion to a long, difficult relationship that is becoming more toxic with time and then implodes, not something that happened before the marriage starts. So sorry for it not being very canon-friendly, but to me, it just creates a pretty coherent, emotional story of a downfall of a marriage that had potential, as there were honest feelings involved, but the dude was an ass.
This whole HC was born in baby form when I watched the episode in which Prussia wants Hungary to go hunting, mentions she used to like it, and she refuses and instead prefers to clean Austria’s house.  He then comments that she changed. It was played as lighthearted and funny and I do recognize that Hima probably wanted to show that she got more mature while Pru is still like a kid, but it actually made me really sad for her. Then I watched the show Freud on Netflix and got interested in the anti-austrian movements in Hungary (LOL sorry I know this sounds really silly! ^^’ it’s a good show tho). And it kinda fitted - she wanted to hunt, she was just putting herself in smaller and smaller boxes as the Perfect Wife bc Austria expected that and she still hoped it will make her dream of Lived Happily Ever After come true.

okay but jade/sylv power couple au
- when jade finds out about the betrothal (made when she was a baby) carnelian is like obviously we’ll cancel it now. she tells the gang anyway like lol isn’t this funny tho. sylv had totally forgotten. (he was ten. he already knew he had zero interest in girls and noblity stuff.) everyone finds it hilarious. hendrik is vaguely disturbed.
- but then jade is like. so used to being on the road and in disguise. so she actually is briefly a little overwhelmed by actually having to learn princess stuff? like politics and diplomacy stuff. rab did make sure she got an education but still. heliodor is hardcore. so the whole gang is there to help but sylv is also hanging around helidor like. wow you guys are all super serious bummers, i’m going to camp out in the town square and party until your people are better? apparently he assumes everyone in heliodor is as uncool as hendrik?
- anyway somehow they decide to get married and like. have a discussion. it’s half a joke. they’ll keep separate rooms and there’s no romcom ending, they genuinely have no romantic interest. jade just doesn’t want to even have to think about marrying and heirs and being this “young princess” and sylv is just like “so as prince consort can i throw a lot of balls” “sure” “DONE darling.” (plus it super annoys rodrigo so bonus)
- prince consort sylv uses his new fame mostly to just keep on traveling and throwing even more lavish parades. he also makes sure to swing by and act as jade’s number one cheerleader a lot. heliodors international popularity and respect goes way up. also the new stronger ties with puerto valor is killer for their economy. killer.
- seriously ask me about my obsession with video game economies
- meanwhile jade spends most of her time running around in her shorts and halter top in downtown heliodor, in the less ritzy areas, because she’s more used to it and those people and then she wants to fix all the problems and is just super gung ho about going all hands on. carnelian is just so proud.
- he eventually abdicates for jade when she’s more settled into the job and responsibilities— obviously still willing to give her advice when needed— but also enjoys a couple of years traveling around retired with rab (showing him the ropes of the ex king life) and his son in law (still only visiting his wife once a month or so).
- none of the gang gets it at all. sylv and jade get along beautifully and heliodor loves their royal couple and they’re ever so elegant together, but also utterly utterly platonic. the gang keeps waiting for them to have a friendly divorce or something. but nah.
- jade is perfectly happy without romance and just her friends and family. she doesn’t particularly want kids, she’s still a bit traumatized over her own experiences and losing the luminary. the thought of her own son or daughter going through that terrifies her.
- sylv has a string of epic romances that his wife finds both amusing and kind of torrid and sweet (she likes the stories), and eventually starts just adopting random urchins to train as performers/knights/to help people in any way they can. some he sends on to rodrigo to train as warriors; some he sends on to veronica in the academie (where she’s become a teacher) to learn magic. but also heliodor castle is quickly overrun with plucky children who remind jade of herself and who sylv is teaching to be the next generation of his fantastic parade
- twenty years pass and everything is fucking amazing
- hendrik is there the entire time, still kind of confused about it all
