If you could press a button that would give you a great deal of money, but it would cause someone you don’t know in a distant part of the world to die, then you would have a good model for how our current economy works. Welcome to Night Vale.
Night Vale out there just devastating me with their cold opening.

Nightvale has a lot of amazing episodes but I especially adore the two episodes that are just straight out of House of Leaves

I love What happened at the Smithwick house because it's just a short horror story they threw into the podcast for funsies, or it feels like that. But also it just confirms to me Cecil's supernatural abilities or that he's actually a very excellant journalist or both. There's just no way he'd discover the inner emotions of people who are no longer around to ask and events that nobody saw but those who disappeared without some kind of supernatural gift, right?

my therapist told me to listen to the same podcast episode(s) every night to fall asleep what I didn’t tell him was that it’s specifically What Happened At The Smithwick House, A Story About Huntokar, and Guidelines for Disposal from WTNV which are,,, not the worst episodes to fall asleep to but also I always hope he never asks me what the episodes are about lmao

You are what you eat. That’s very confusing phrasing; let me simplify: You consume your own flesh. Much clearer.

WTNV quick rundown - 105 - What happened at the Smithwick house
Check out all kinds of other rundowns here!
If you could press a button that would give you a great deal of money, but it would cause someone you don’t know in a distant part of the world to die, then you would have a good model for how our current economy works. Welcome to Night Vale.
Cecil tells and in depth and personal story about the Smithwick family. The Smithwick house developed a hole in the former guest room was soon to be a nursery room. A small hole, dark and long and with a soft humming coming from it. First Mrs Smithwick disappears, then the children disappear. Mr Smithwick reaches into the hole and is able to feel and pull out a branch. After several days of him not coming out of the house, it is investigated and he too is gone.
The Smithwicks lived on Butterfield Lane.
Cecil was arrested and taken to City Council for punishment after talking about angels, but got them talking about Station Management until they forgot what he was there for and let him go.
Station Management often lures employees into it's office to 'relieve them of their life energy'.
The angels are still campaigning for their right to be acknowledged as existing.
There is a patch of falling snow out on Route 800 that scientists can't explain. Cecil says that since he can imagine it he has no urge to actually go see it.
Weather: "You Cannot" by Erin McKeown
Carlos says that what happened at the Smithwick house actually happened four years ago she he has no idea how it could happen all over again. Cecil has no answer to that.
Carlos is also making quinoa bowls for dinner.
