Charles Dodd White (@charlesdoddwhite) is a cultural critic worth listening to. If you haven’t read his essay “Why I Don’t Hunt Anymore,” I highly suggest it. It changed the way I interpret hunting and fishing rhetoric, particularly in the branding and marketing styles which feature death as opposed to stewardship. Give it a read, you’ll find it worth it.
