There’s a very important distinction between criticism and cyberbullying. Let’s not forget that if we could all find this corner of the internet (same goes for other skating blogs and fstwt), which I followed to join in on the discussion of the highs and lows of a beautifully complicated sport, so too can every skater. Konner we don’t know you in real life, but your blog has been a fun place to come to for good takes, hot takes, expressing opinions, and - most importantly to me - learning. Thank you for holding the line. No skater deserves to be harassed and what that anon sent to Lilah crosses the line of inappropriate over to hate for no reason. Let’s all take a minute and remember that they are people. Doing something very difficult. And truly. If you don’t have anything nice to say, maybe don’t say it at all.
What a lovely message! Thanks for your words, they are so kind!
I couldn't agree more, messaging skaters directly is just weird, outside of just a general support/congratulations message here and there, but even then, I think people just make those comments on posts. DMing a skater for whatever reason is not the move, not for me at least.
There's no reason to get so angry/disappointed that, as you said, it veers into bullying and harassment.
Everyone just go watch your favourite program by your favourite skater/team, eat a taco, and calm the hell down.
