hi hello captain/snippy soulmates au??? :eyes:
Hohoho yes!!!
So. You got your various kinds of Soulmates AU. I'm gonna make a bullet point list of Soulmates AU ideas that I like the most from a list I found, with Captain/Snippy! They're all under the premise that Snippy doesn't have a soulmate until Captain is created by ANNET as per your headcanons :3
Everything is black and white until you meet your soulmate Snippy has always seen the world in black and white, and resigned himself to the fact that he probably will never meet his soulmate (because he’s defeatist like that). So imagine how shocked he is to one day be riding the elevator when some weird person in a gas mask and trench coat steps on with to ride it with him, and when he looks up at them in confusion because he has a strange sense of familiarity with them he’s met with the most vivid shade of purple that he’s never seen. His statement of “do I know you?” is out of pure confusion and shock, and similarly, Captain’s reply of “not yet!” is because zee knows that they’re not supposed to interact properly yet, zee has to leave him for now, knowing that he’ll forget all about zeer by the time they meet again, but neither of them will lose their ability to see colour which will come in very handy quite soon. And maybe, that air of familiarity returns to him when he sees the purple of Captain’s goggles again when he’s found all alone in the Dead Zone. Along a similar vein is the AU where you can see every colour except the colour of your soulmate’s eyes, and I know technically as a star Captain wouldn’t have eyes but imagine Snippy just constantly being like purple, fucking purple who the hell has purple eyes that’s not even possible this is a scam-
There’s a stripe of colour around your wrist that is the exact shade of your soulmate’s hair colour Snippy never had a stripe, and was often subject to many people saying maybe his soulmate has no hair, both in trying to comfort and in trying to bully him. He tended to wear wristbands to cover his blank skin up, probably a bunch of different colours so someone would have to look closely to see that he doesn’t have a stripe, and it worked pretty well for him. And he’d resigned himself to the fact that he doesn’t have a soulmate, until he wakes up to find his wrist coloured in a stripe of what looks like a dark stretch of space, dotted with little stars and constantly shifting clouds of colour. Meanwhile, on Captain’s wrist, there’s a completely black band, void of pulsing colour or stars, the exact shade of Snippy’s hair.
The first and last words your soulmate will say to you are written on your arms This time, Snippy’s always had Captain’s first and last words written on his skin, and the same with Captain having his. While their first words always stay the same - “Do I know you?” and “Not yet!” - their last words are constantly changing. Of course, this is due to just how many times Snippy has died and how many times Captain reset to ensure that didn’t happen. Captain probably remembers all of Snippy’s final words to zeer and constantly checks zeer wrist to make sure of what his final words are so zee can keep him safe, even after he gets the Biomatrix. Snippy sort of forgets about the ever changing words on his wrist, so by the time they’re all together in the Dead Zone he doesn’t check what last words are on his wrist any more. I’d like to think that the final words got stuck as the same thing for a while when A) Snippy got yoinked into the big Biomatrix and B) when he fell on Pilot’s sword and got temporally stopped for a while.
Whenever you get a song stuck in your head, it also gets stuck in your soulmate’s head This one is purely just so Caramelldansen is, once again, the Charles Snippy Experience. POV you are Charles Snippy and you’ve spent the last 20+ years knowing that you either have no soulmate or your soulmate has never listened to any kind of music ever, only for one day to have Caramelldansen suddenly blasting in your head and you know for a FACT that it’s not your doing. But real talk, it would actually be kinda sweet, because no matter how far apart they are post-Eureka Captain knows that he’s having a good day because he’s thinking about that song again, and sometimes when Snippy gets a song in his head from Captain he searches it up using one of the ANNET terminals so he can try to buy the song from somewhere to listen to at home because he knows how bad his memory is, he wants to get a little playlist full of songs that his soulmate listens to now that he knows they exist. And the same sorta things go on when they’re in the Dead Zone! Snippy doesn’t make the connection for a while but up until he does, he’s just glad that his soulmate survived too. And sometimes he gets a song stuck in his head and it’s so fragmented but he’s trying so hard to remember it and sometimes Captain will try to get the whole song stuck in zeer head so he can enjoy the entire song again and he goes about the rest of the day just that bit happier.
Whenever your soulmate is injured, flowers grow on you where their injuries are Snippy growing up being bullied and such so often, he worries so much about what his soulmate will think of him getting injured so much and how having so many flowers blooming on them would be so awful, while they never get injured at all (little did he know that Captain literally did not exist yet, unless somewhere there was a literal star blooming flowers). So imagine his shock to one day suddenly bloom with purple flowers all over as Annie edits Captain’s code while zee’s still running (like in A Hero :3) and he immediately assumes the worst, because that’s the only time he’s ever seen his soulmate get injured in some way. Meanwhile, every time Snippy dies, Captain blooms with blue flowers. And every time he dies with the Biomatrix being involved, the flowers on Captain are veined a deep red.
