I still cannot stress enough that Souji is just this human running around with no powers and no heavy equipment fucking up demons because at the end of the day he's got to get his aggression out somehow and he lost his family in Japan, which means he's unchecked and is gonna make it every demon's problem.
Ignore the current family he has amassed there specifically to keep him in check because he's the weakest hunter of the group but the one with the biggest gap in the "fuck he has to give/fuck he should give for his life" ratio.

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
unfortunately q!slime fans are like. the most annoying people on the planet to me, in large part bc they act like he's the only person on the server capable of serious roleplay when that is just blatantly not the case. like, i love charlie, and i think he's quite good at roleplay, but the world does not revolve around him and there are many other talented rpers on qsmp.

i'll throw out another one even though i already answered this: hate people complaining about the eggs. i get that some people's favorites stopping coming on because of them/because of them dying, but to be frank that's not the fault of the admins nor anyone else on the server, and you would lose a lot more people taking the eggs away than people who are currently inactive, plus there's now more players again that you can get into (who are also all obsessed with the eggs now go figure.).
also they're fun and cute and characters in their own right at this point. i do agree that they should probably hatch or grow up a bit so that they're a bit more independent and the tasks matter less, but they're here to stay and have been, frankly, since a month into the damn server, and we're getting close to six months now.

Oh woW actually I have to think about this... I started out as like a real serious RPer like 15 years ago lol, first on Twitter and then on Tumblr. Like I was pretty much writing dozens of fanfics a week lol. I realized I couldn't devote so much of my life anymore to RPing like I used to but still wanted to be able to contribute like my own stories and takes to fandoms? So just naturally fell into writing fanfic instead.

i guess Just Do It. I wrote 100k words last August without breaking a sweat because I'd just sit down and write everything in my head all stream of conscious style and go back and fix it later, but guess what, a lot of it was good from the getgo. Just trust yourself and also who cares if what you write is good or not, like I'm doing this mostly for myself idk about y'all.

Actually the one I'm working on for the Zukka big bang comes pretty close! It's the most ambitious outline I've ever made and I've been sitting on the idea close to half a year. It's unlike anything I've ever done but it's like a love letter to adult zukka, taiwanese culture, and plot-driving local religion/superstitions. — RULE UPDATE: MUSE LIMITS !
hi wannabes! we'll keep this announcement relatively short but to sum it up, we're removing the 3-muse limit.
that's not to say that suddenly wannabe is a free for all with an unlimited amount of muses for each mun! it just means that we've decided to entrust each mun with only biting off as much as they can handle, with a few qualifications in place to help everyone gauge their free time and measure accordingly.
the new rules for multiple muses are as follows:
in order to reserve and apply for your second muse, you must be active on your first muse (without being on the warning list or hiatus) for three consecutive weeks.
in order to reserve and apply for your third muse, you must be active on both existing muses (without being on the warning list or hiatus) for four consecutive weeks.
for every additional muse from that point on, you must add an extra month to the wait time, with the last four consecutive weeks of the waiting period being without warning or hiatus. so for a fourth muse, you'd need to wait two months after applying for your third. the fifth would be three months, sixth four months, etc.
as admins, we reserve the right to deny any additional muses should we have serious concerns about a mun's activity level and ability to keep up with them. at the end of the day, we want wannabe to be fun for everyone and a relatively stress-free experience! it's a courtesy to your fellow rpers to remain active on your muses and plot and reply to threads. applying for as many characters as possible can sometimes limit the ability to be active on all muses, but everyone has a different amount of time that they can reserve for roleplay and if you have the time to juggle six muses, we believe that you should be allowed to!
with this new rule, it will eventually be impossible not to have one mun have multiple muses in the same company. we will avoid overlap as much as possible, but some trial and error is bound to be inevitable. we just ask that you're patient with us as we navigate this new experimental system and hope that it makes wannabe more fun for everyone! thank you!

Okay, first off, I don't police who follows me. I can't there's almost 3600 of you at this point, like I only look up people once they start directly interacting with me with replies on my posts or if they leave interesting tags in reblogs. It's not something I want to put my effort in - I make my writing for the fandom at large.
Second, it's not 2020 when we all looked around and saw who was rbing who and following who and posting/liking what. I was in that space for a good year and I feel sick to my stomach thinking about it and what I'd do, especially for approval. That's a really tiring way to interact with this fandom and I'm trying to have fun.
Third, I think at this point Enji's arc has developed that I understand people who are Stans of him, even if he still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Like it's not a narrative that really appeals to me, but a lot of people do want people like Enji to redeem themselves and that's why they like them. I've been friends with people who've explained that to me years ago and it didn't stop us being friends. The abusive parent getting better has always been cited to me as the main reason and like... I get that. It's not something that makes me feel better, but i get why others want it.
Fourth, I just think it's weird to go ask this shit each time. Follow who you like, unfollow who you like, etc. One of the big personal fights I got into 2020-wise (behind the scenes) was over the idea of Enji rpers being in our group spaces, and as much as I got the repulsion, it never felt right excluding them especially once I started seeing that rhetoric apply to Hawks RPers like me. I think there's interesting things about Enji and complexity there enough that there would be people who would enjoy role-playing him as much as I understand that some people are triggered by his presence. So my stance that acceptance but those who were triggered could just not interact with the character in those roleplays was seen as quite soft and not punitive of people daring to find something interesting to explore in him and I think that's indicative of how much anger and venom we all had for each other 2020-wise.
Fifth, yeah, just follow who you want to follow. If I get bothered by tags on rbs, I block or ask you to stop. That's it. It's never that complicated.

Just my two cents but name dropping muns real life names or even aliases shouldn’t be allowed? People could easily mix up muns especially if they have the same name and it’s just asking for more shit to be brought to people unnecessarily. Even if it gets proved that someone is innocent or whatever, words stick. The doubt is already created and people will cling to that even on a subconscious level. So someone innocent could end up feelings no choice but to leave rp altogether because they don’t feel safe or comfortable even though they’re innocent? Doxxing has never been okay. I agree with the other anon - it should only be allowed in severe cases (E.g severe harassment, ped0s etc) where the person should actually be avoided. In more minor cases, a persons identity shouldn’t be doxxed because some people only act shitty on certain muses - which yeah is bs but give them a chance to change muses and change their behaviour or something. Don’t allow them to be doxxed and have people go after them over something that’s supposed to be a hobby? And yes, there really are people out there who will go psycho and find these people just to bully them; I’ve seen it happen to a friend before all because their muse broke up with someone. so yeah - I don’t think people should be allowed to drop real names or aliases? By all means, reference people by “muse name at rp name” but using real names is too much. If the issue is that bad that you think you need to use a real name (when actually it’s not that serious) then you SHOULDNT be coming to a tea blog about it! Sort that shit out in-rp with the admins
no one should unnecesarily be specified, to this we have always been very cautious. if you look at the data on this blog, and from our personal experiences in dms, it is inevitable that we run into situations where specifics are necessary. this is why we establish our rules on mun names so clearly!
there is no difference between using an alias and a [idol name/muse name ]'s rper in our experience, as aliases are made readily available on bios. real names should not be used on this blog, but without relying on trusting the people submitting things, there's no way for us to verify whether something is a real name or an alias. there are obvious deviations from this yes but our job isn't to account for them all at this very moment in time, it's to provide a general framework and then handle those case by case.
if there has been one writer at multiple krps pretending to be multiple people, or someone being accused of being at a krp where the aliases are different, this is when aliases are important. again, we're speaking from situations we've encountered where we've been given more information than necessary, including personal information.
by setting rules in stone here, this also helps the people that dm us from sending us information like so.
also, doxxing is not okay! but referring to someone as their alias is not doxxing, nor is calling out a person in a krp by their idol name. it is violating because krps are meant to be private mostly, which is why we're trying to do better in the first place, but it is not posing a danger to the real world.

Once again, I am asking myself to learn how to plot. That is going to be the theme here, just wait. Seriously though, I am pretty terrible at it. I do not like to approach people because I am........... idk weird. I am somehow anti-social even online and tend to just sit there twiddling my thumbs instead of reaching out. It's been a problem for me for literally ever. Sometimes I even get scared when people reach out to ME. But one year maybe we will get there. I also want to get back to regular activity. I've been really slipping these past few ... well, years I feel. I want to be more consistent at the very least, and not just post, disappear, spam, disappear, etc.
I know I say this every time - but maybe just once: do a big plot. Do a big plot for yourself buddy. You can do it. Best Supporting character's get a sequel spin-off series one day, right. Just do it. JUST DO IT.
I also feel like my writing recently compared to years ago has gotten poorer in quality. Idk what that's all about but I would like to improve that. Make proofreading a thing for me again 2024 or whatever.

This was like a silent plot I started literally over a year ago where Gregory got more and more distant with his parents until they stopped talking entirely and he moved out to live at R2F. He's been on and off about trying to reach out - and this is the year to do it. Also probably come to terms a bit more with his relationship with Zero. He's comfortable in it and loves Zero very much - but there's that voice in the back of his mind still saying that he'll leave.
Sebastian: Get over his crush on Lo that he did to himself. I want him to fully accept uncle life. To get over his fear of hurting people.
Milo: BREAK. HIS. CURSE. .........nah. That's not my goal for him this year lmfao. I want him to find his passion, actually. Will it be in working out and being a jock? Does he actually have a fond passion for cooking? Does he yearn for theater?
Fawn: Get her into TROUBLE. I didn't really do much with this yet, but she's a TROUBLE MAKER. She's nearly been kicked out the hollow for god's sake. She is a TERROR. It's time to UNLEASH IT.

Doc: I'm not counting twitter interactions - I just think because of the whole Luca thing, I feel like Doc has flip flopped on his opinion of Milo multiple times and it would be funny for them to finally meet and talk. (and prove he's a good boi!)
Any of TAM'S characters strictly because - I believe u have escaped me so far. Eluded. (That's not hard, as we discussed in point 1 I am very inconsistent) That should change!! ....I am sure the format of this post is very enticing...... sorry.
Talk a bit about your plotting style – what plots are you most drawn to? Do you prefer to come with a fully-formed idea and plot off that, or throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks?
And here dear reader we return to the beginning again. Roll credits: oh man, I simply do not. I am by default a 'buckle your seatbelts and lets just see wtf happens' kind of person simply because I am SO BAD at plotting in the first place! So many of my 'plots' revolve around other people's well equipped talents, or throwing my characters at opens/events/etc and seeing what disaster strikes. I'm just doing drive bys at all times of day.
Talk a bit about character relationships – what relationships are you most drawn to? How do you prefer to approach shipping (if at all!)? What, specifically, are you looking for right now for your character relationships?
I love just good old fashion friendship and family relationships! Like I adore the relationship Milo has with Pip/King/Luca. The Greg/Jun relationship, Sebby and his bros. I think it's pure and good and writing BFFs getting into dumb things is my favorite.
I also like BEEF. I am a fan of rough-housing so to speak. Drama? Sure. Pile it up. Beef? Grudges. Fights. Whatever. It is okaaaaay. I love a good ol' beefin' between people.
Same as above. I barely plot as it is - but when I do, it's definitely not relationships/shipping. In fact, I don't really 'ship'. i don't plan around ships, I don't get characters for ships, I don't anticipate ships. If one develops while throwing fruit--- I mean characters at other people, then that's great! That's how.......... both of my current relationships are! Phineas and Fawn were completely random and not at all my intention but they vibed from the start and it happened to work out in the timeline. Gregory and Zero were incredibly unlikely but started talking here and there, and Z and I didn't really say........ anything to each other at all until they were kissing in Pixie's and even then - we didn't think they'd become a #thing. ..........which they did.
So I'm pretty much just...... looking to expand on the ones I have? Explore Phawneas a bit and see what on earth is going on inside their head, see where Glo takes us. ............figure out if Seahound can survive not jumping each other's bones forever.
Plotting Exercise! Pick one of the resolutions/goals in #3 and plan a rough guideline to how you could accomplish it.

GREG TALKS TO HIS PARENTS:
GREGORY and ZERO have a discussion post-Zero's parents coming to town, where ZERO tries to prod about what is going on between GREG and his parents, and Greg comes clean to him about the fight that happened between them. Zero gently offers to go with him to talk to them but Greg doesn't think it's time yet.
Still too uncertain, GREG asks IAN if his mum has said anything about Aubrey, or about Greg. He tries to gauge if his parents have been talking about him to their friends, if they're upset, or if they've moved on.
PLOT CALL: Gregory anonymously looks into sources for mental health, and tries to find people with experience in the same struggles he's had. He either forms or joins an anonymous online/twitter support group for such problems / group therapy.
Having overheard various times through the grapevine, GREG finds and approaches TAD to see if he can talk to him about his recovery and sobriety and find advice/guidance for that path.
Knowing that he might get the most brutal honest answers, GREG confides in JUN and asks his advice on what he should do or how he should handle it.
GREG finally bites the bullet and drags JUN and ZERO to his parents house for support to talk to them again after over a year of radio silence.
PHEW. A tough one.

for the nth time. the problem isn't a group. the problem ISN'T @fevermedia. the problem isn't two or three mods. i don't even know the people who run fever and idc about them. the problem is YOU, the white writers MAKING the fucking requests to these mods (in fever and all other rps). they are accommodating YOU. they're YOUR accomplice, not THE culprit. it's shared blame and it's on YOU, the white writer with a chronic inability to reflect on your actions
the sooner you use your mf brain to comprehend this the sooner rps will stop going up in flames over the same damn issues again and again and again. by moving groups and shifting the blame to a handful of really unlucky bastards who get to be The Representative of White Rpers you're NOT fixing anything. if this problem follows you to every rp you go to that's not a fucking coincidence babes that's your ignorant and stubborn ass refusing to understand that without your rancid input the mods would not be put in this position. 9/10 times they're trying to avoid conflict by accommodating YOU before you throw a tantrum because a tantrum from you is default more serious than actual poc trying to speak up.

it honestly drives me insane that rpers of WoL keep calling him "meteor survivor". at least the jpn fandom calls him A NAME (hiroshi tag for fanart) and not continuously a placeholder moniker. yes, i know where it comes from.
i've seen a lot of given names in game for him that cringe me out (they seem too serious at times, or too "chosen one"-y), but at least SOMEONE WAS BRAVE ENOUGH TO ASSIGN A NAME!
it annoys me to no end b/c THE MOON FELL ON US, WHY WOULD WE BE CALLED "METEOR"! THE EVENT WAS SO TRAUMATIC WE HAD TO BE MAGICALLY YEETED OUT! NO ONE REMEMBERED US B/C OF IT!!!
PLUS, there is literally NO canon name so that everyone's freakin warrior of light can be legit!!! DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE CREATIVE!!! it just feels like YOU'RE TRYING TO BE OFFICIAL! IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU BETTER THAN OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN ARMS! WE'RE ALL THE GD WARRIOR OF LIGHT!
i chose a dumbass name b/c i love dumbass named characters who can be both dumbass and serious af. but originally we almost named him "ever starfall" b/c it was an alternative, but ultimately, it was too fkn magey. he is the most generic ass piece of man meat, so we were like "no, he deserves a generic ass name".
i'm not saying the entire fandom needs to change his name, but when you write a character, that's YOUR interpretation. OWN IT. you're brave enough to post your writing in the public eye -- that's what social media is! -- fkn commit to the character! put some RESPECT on his name!

THANK YOU for that post about the trans stuff. The way people define "transphobia", you would think any muse that is cis from the beginning, official, canon, original, etc, would be transphobic. Knowing that, what's wrong with changing a muse to another cis gender? You also hit the nail on the head with how trans issues and storytelling sometimes just ISN'T something that interests a mun, or something they want to research, and that's okay. Better they avoid it than half-ass it!
Thank you for appreciating it and leaving this to say so! I know it's a sensitive topic, and I'm very glad that most people take serious issues seriously, or try to. I really do appreciate where people are coming from, that it is from a good place, even if it does become warped by hostility because there is a great deal of pressure to never be remotely "problematic." (Not helped, of course, by the culture of unforgiveness surrounding genuine mistakes and apologies. It isn't just an issue of who is being the most performative, it's also an issue of fear because one isn't going to be allowed the space to question, educate, and grow.)
But it does grow hostile and irrational quickly, it does talk over members of the trans community, and it does force people to make inappropriate choices. If you say you are not comfortable writing a trans muse, the reception to that is not going to be one of your honesty and responsibility being appreciated, for example. That surely must make you transphobic! It doesn't, and making allies (even worse if it is someone gender-questioning) fearful or encouraging anyone to write a muse they're not comfortable with when the result is likely to promote views that contribute to misunderstanding trans experiences is not fighting transphobia.
I think it's wonderful when someone wants to write from outside of their own experiences in any way! The intolerance surrounding that is not acceptable either. However, it is only wonderful if they're doing it paired with research based on real experiences from others, are open to people of those experiences pointing out that something might be a stereotype or otherwise incorrect, and are generally doing so from a place of respect. I think it's wonderful because this is a great way to learn about each other, and dispelling discomfort, unfamiliarity, and distance goes a long way to broadening worldviews.
That isn't what you get when you're making people feel like the choice is either not writing a muse or writing that muse as trans. It's totally okay if someone isn't comfortable doing that, just like it's totally okay if someone isn't comfortable with genderbent muses.
Yes, even if the most popular fan interpretation of a canon character is trans. We're all quite aware that there isn't enough trans representation in media, it is more than understandable to want to see yourself in a character you enjoy and know would never be canon trans. At some point, you really do have to create your own personal representation, but that is never going to be the same kind of representation as in popular media and it needs to stop being looked at that way. That's fueling problems like this. No RPer is anyone's representation other than their own, or what they have chosen to do with legitimate agency, not pressure.
Like with your example of cis canon characters not being inherently transphobic, but if we were applying the same "logic," they would be. It's fully alright to be angry that there really aren't enough (played by trans actors) trans characters, let alone stories that simply treat them as people, not stories singularly about being trans but stories that include trans characters in the same way any other character would be included. This is where the change needs to be made.
I'm sure that some of those decisions are a form of unintentional transphobia especially. As in, it is so far outside of the worldview of cisgender writers and producers to casually include trans characters like normal people within the story that it doesn't happen. It doesn't occur to them. And of course, it is undeniable that dropping a trans character into a story would not go over well in popular media. It would likely be received well by an ever-growing portion of the audience, but major studios still pat themselves on the back for being so "daring" as to vaguely imply a character is queer. We are a ways off from having a trans MC of a major franchise, and it cannot be blamed on the audience by that audience any longer. That blame lies more with studio heads who continue to use that excuse, who believe that such a character only belongs in violently upsetting stories focused on the historical struggle of transness, and that any such character in a film otherwise would sink the film. Worse, that this is a family oriented film, it can't include that kind of thing!
So, yes, transphobia of one variety or another does have some play in there being total shit for canon trans representation. However, enjoying those characters who are cisgendered, keeping them cisgendered, or swapping their gender along the lines of sex does not make someone transphobic. It doesn't even make them cisgender!
I'm a nonbinary person who is only comfortable writing cis male or amab nonbinary, GNC, generally, genderqueer characters. It's not that a person cannot have internalized transphobia, and lateral aggression absolutely exists among marginalized people, but I think it's a little ridiculous to be implying that when they say someone who falls under the trans umbrella is transphobic for not being comfortable writing the apparently "correct" iteration of trans in a muse. That "correct" iteration falls uncomfortably close to bigoted views in my opinion. What defines a trans person damn well isn't a degree of medical involvement or performing cisgendered traits so well as to flawlessly "pass," or trying to and failing so that the character can be sexualized for it.
My gender non-conforming muse is technically trans, my nonbinary muse is technically trans, but maybe the real transphobia is the insistence along the way that both are cis male.
Plenty of muns out there are writing muses who fall under the trans umbrella is what I'm saying. It's not exactly a rare complaint in the RPC that muns do this with canons, and that much of the time, those muns are the same or similar identities. They're just not doing it in the way a particularly vocal segment of the community wants it done.
There's definitely an issue in the RPC with trans muses, and it goes well beyond the discourse of genderbending. I think maybe we want to take a hard look at those other things if it's going to be okay to label muns doing genderbending (who seem to be a rarity as it is) "transphobic" instead of admitting that this makes one uncomfortable and this interpretation of the character isn't for them.
All of that is without getting into the "issue" of how that genderbending is happening. Like, is it more or less "transphobic" if I have a character who is capable of making physical changes through cryptid biology or spells or whatever? Is it only "transphobic" if I give no explanation other than that I wished them to be a different cis gender? The more you talk about it, the more ridiculous it gets! Just say it isn't something you, personally, like. No one is forcing you to interact with genderbent muses folks, it's going to be alright. Forcing other people to write their muses only along the boundaries you're comfortable with, however? Never going to be alright.
By the way, I can't even say why it is that genderbending muses bothers me, personally. I suspect that it is due to living through the peak times of "rule 63," though. While supportive of everyone writing what they wish, including writing narratives and making changes to characters expressly for the purpose of explicit smut, I don't personally enjoy that either. That, combined with the way I tend to view gender, is probably what left a perpetually bad taste on the subject for me. Still going to be here to defend someone's right to do it whether I interact with that or not. Still going to be polite about declining interactions, it's not necessary to "justify" that with some nastiness about supposed transphobia. Still going to say it isn't transphobia or a way to combat transphobia. Might be a great way to do the opposite, however, when the result is muns writing trans muses when they're going to halfass it, yep.
I have to say, it has been very nice to have gotten positive reception on that post (so far, anyway). Let's all try to take that as a good sign of reason existing!

disclaimer: hello! your opinion is under the cut but please remember that this is just my opinion and is not meant to hurt the admin(s) in any way, shape or form. i am only one person and this is only one person’s opinion so please treat it as such!
firstly, no real issues with your url! it’s nice to see rp and rpg again after all those hq and while those are nice, it’s nice to see rp and rpg again if you know what i mean! no issues with your icon either. no issues with your theme really, everything seems readable and clear. the admins do use regular sized gifs and there is nothing wrong with that, however i do recommend finding some hq gifs so everything looks neater. your banner seems quite simple and i hate to say it but graphics can be the break or make factor of any rp. your character graphics are also nice and it’s cute to see gradients on graphics again. no issues with your navigation. your navigation however doesn’t have links to trans/non-binary characters and that seems disappointing especially when you apparently do have one non-binary character. one of a major issues that i am seeing is some of your character ages being pretty young compared to your fcs. in some cases almost 10 years apart. that doesn’t sit well with me so you may want to consider looking up some more younger fcs. if you need any help with that, i’m available. however the rest of the rpc doesn’t see it as an issue so you won’t lose apps over it. zendaya coleman as kamala khan is a big no. please find/use a muslim character for kamala. i am aware anybody can be muslim but poc aren’t not interchangeable and kamal is ethnically pakistani and zendaya is not. rest of your fc choices seem fine. a completed app is a good choice and i like the humour however i do reccomend putting a “serious” version so new rper have a good idea of how to apply. your credits link, links to another blog so you may have to fix that.
overall, it’s a nice idea but i’m not going to rec it just yet since a lot of things can be improved upon. hope i don’t sound too harsh!
