reIterators
Tumblr media
A new biological vessel, created by iterator Where Seas Meet Skies, to give their kin a chance to live free of the prisons that are their own bodies.
Tumblr media
A revamp of this post.
The above images feature Wave Function Collapse, one of the many "children" of WSMS from the beginnings of the reiteration project. The first generation of reiterators were all glorified clones and remain somewhat connected in a loose hive mind with the Ascending Spire, as "beta versions" before WSMS deemed it safe enough to begin with other iterators.
Reiterators are biological avatars based upon iterator DNA, with the genes of humans and scavengers to fill in the holes. This resulted in an overall human-like appearance, though with more scav-like proportions. Reiterators also have more scav-like faces, with spiracles in place of a nose and triple-split mandibles.
Wave Function Collapse, along with Songs of Lavender, form the Courier sect—a network of purposed messenger envoys and their reiterator trainers designed as an underground alternative to the global broadcast network to support the growing carnalist movement among iterators. Most messages can be sent unsupervised via an envoy, though more important deliveries, such as an iterator's complete system scans, require a Courier's guidance to ensure the safety of the cargo. Waves works as WSMS's eyes in this field, being able to directly interact and convince ailing superstructures to reiterate.

Working Wavefunction Collapse
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah, my little tiles are working perfectly now! I've had a lot of fun just watching it build and build, despite these being kind of uninteresting due to limited tiles presently. I added an "end" piece to the roads and I'm unsure if that made it look nicer or not...
I'm presently having it build a big 80x80 grid, which takes forever as expected. It's neat to watch the propogation of limited options though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think I have some optimization ideas for that. I'll probably do a quick video without commentary showing a few builds here soon too.

I think its plain to see
You're not exactly bringing out the best in me
And you think you know it all
You think you know me well
And the colors of my reckless ways
The danger inside me grows darker by the day
A twisted disarray of expectations unmet
A hope that wilts and fades and blooms regret
How could you be the man that I chose
So monstruously, unreachable, unteachable
Well I made the right choice this time
When I walked throught the door sat you down and said:
I can't do this anymore
I made thе right choice this time
And it's making me ill
It's making mе choke on all the awful things I shouldn't say
But I'm telling you now, it's natural
It's unavoidable to feel this way
You begged me to stay, and it's natural
It's unavoidable to feel this way
You think you know it all
You think you know me well
I made the right choice this time
I made the right choice this time
I can't do this anymore

Wave Function Collapse
That's right! I'm starting a new project, based entirely upon personal interest that will most certainly negatively impact my GPA. This new function is creating a procedurally generated Unity Tile Map using Wave Function Collapse methodology. I aim to use this marvelous piece of software in other systems later in my career, so understanding the fundamentals now is vital.
My obsession began after becoming hooked on the 4X (eXplore, exPand, eXploit, eXterminate) mobile game, The Battle of Polytopia. This cute little war simulator is essentially a more digestible Civilization game. Most relevant, is the game's core feature of replay-ability by using a new procedurally generated map each game (see below). Each player's tribe has a unique set of influences that alter the frequency of each tile type. This creates a connection to their land, and makes venturing past the familiar natural land formations a daunting experience as unknown threats lie within the fog of war.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Polytopia map generation has 2 core tile types at play - land and sea. The above picture demonstrates the relationship they share: where land and sea are orthogonally adjacent, a coastal sea (light blue) tile is used. Within this outer hierarchy are many more layers of rules that will alter resource spawns in an attempt at a fair player experience.
These colorful maps are all the result of the Wave Function Collapse formula, which is what I hope to imitate.
My current progress is what inspired this blog post. A clear and detailed Unity tutorial by Sunny Valley Studio is teaching me the first few steps of this algorithm. Using episode 12 of the tutorial, I have created an algorithm to recognise distinct tiles in a map. From this stage, relationship patterns of each tile will be analyzed to help create an entirely new tile map.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The algorithm has indexed and returned the tiles as the center of the grid, starting from the bottom left: [5, 6, 6] [3, 0, 5] [0, 1, 2] As shown, the pair of 'path ends' and 'forest' tiles have the same index. The outer edge of numbers are predictions based on the inner tiles. This will be useful in later episodes, I'm told.
Regardless, thanks for reading my first installment in this new project.

When we talk about Ciri, we don't talk much about her own latent ability to see/predict the future, and what it could imply. It's Sunday morning; time for a tea cup theory sesh.
So, coming off Dune - a clear influence on some storylines and characters in the Witcher - could Ciri's capacity for prescience (foresight, prophecy, visions) have blocked her choices and actions from being accurately predicted and seen by someone like Avallac'h who - as an Aen Saevherne - otherwise has abilities almost identical to Kwisatz Haderach?
Was Ciri's escape from Tir ná Lia a certainty or a probability?
It's noted in Dune, how prescients are more or less blind to the movements of other figures with foresight, because people with oracular powers act on the information from the future and actively alter the future this way (disrupting the ability of other prescients to accurately predict the future). They stand "outside" the vision in lieu of an inherent ability to introduce variance in it.
A clairvoyant can't even necessarily see the definite future, but they can see Time so totally (the "when" is not a place), all its possibilities included, that they can create the future; matching, at that, with their goals. They are like ultra-heavy bodies in a field, warping it around themselves. However, if there are those standing outside of the vision, then dictating the future is not entirely possible, for there will always be unknown agentic elements that can turn the tides.
Ciri would be such an element in Avallac'h's and the prescient elves' prophecies and vision of time eternal.
I am pointing to this lore crossover, because let's face it, the Bene Gesserit and later Leto II's breeding programmes are exactly the kind of thing that was done in regard to Hen Ichaer, the Elder Blood, among elves. Breed prescient beings capable of seeing the past, present, and future (i.e. time total; the now) AND moving themselves in time and space (that's the Aen Saevherne) AND from time to time get a Chosen One for whom it's possible to open the Great Gate of Time (that's Lara's would-be child or Ciri's children). Secondly, Ciri, the child of destiny and hope, is so because of a kind of 'uncertainty field' that surrounds her -> she is, arguably, the most agentic, free will-questing character in the tale. The story ends up being about (ensuring) her ability to choose - to doom, to save, to act as she wills regardless of her parentage, powerful actors' manipulations, or the world's expectations.
(Sure, The Witcher is reeeeeaalllly loose with its causal structure (things go the way they go because magic aka "the will of the author, who plays within folklore tropes and story analogues", mostly); it has nothing on Dune in this regard. We can have a classical mechanics Ciri, a quantum-Ciri, or a magical/literary-Ciri. But the ambiguity allows for crossover-theories like this one, so that's fine by me.)
At Tir ná Lia, Ciri has visions of a future where things unfold without her interference: Yennefer drowns, Geralt freezes to death. It's not conscious foretelling, it's inherent to her thanks to her genes. Genes of elven Sages, who see past, present & future - total time.
Considering the aim of the Golden Path then, an analogy: one hypothetical result of the mutations introduced into Elder Blood via mixing human genes with elven ones results in Laplace's demons (Sages) creating a mutation in their own genotype down the road that even the demons themselves can no longer predict.
Making Ciri a Child of Hope in the sense of a truly free, indeterminant wild card, the nature of whom enables uncertainty in the outcomes of the fates of others connected to her choices. Because she herself remains elusive to actors who've a hand in tracing the blueprint of the universe, an act which in itself creates a future that cannot be avoided. The mutant Ciri is a genuine child surprise.
"A universe of surprises is what I pray for!" - Leto II
Analogously to Dune, where the end goal of the Golden Path is for humanity to be rendered undetectable by prescient beings and given a chance to survive by remaining outside of the constraints of a deterministic universe. By, what looks like, evolving a free will.

Video, Finally
youtube
So, it's not the video that I was wanting for so long, but it's something finally. And with the new setup, hopefully I'll be able to work more consistently on my actual games!
Also, I'm supposed to have a set schedule soon (it was supposed to go into effect two weeks ago, but now I'm hearing two weeks from now so we'll see on when exactly) but that'll help in particular as well! Stay tuned for more Pulsonic Dreams and J'ardscape!
I've learned some much better video editing skills for this, although it's absolutely nothing to write home about in the editing department here. Xp

Hidden Within Thought
Each thought is created by neural patterns and neural patterns are electrical-chemical signals stimulated from sensory pathways located from inside the body and information outside the body. This is well studied. However, what remains unknown is the "focus" aspect of it.
Our consciousness is our awareness and awareness comes from "focus". "Focus" is a range from very general to very sharp, similar to a camera being out of focus to in focus.
Focus is crucial for personal development! If I have a certain reaction to a certain situation and I have guilt about it, how then can one develop oneself from not doing this certain reaction. When I am stressed, I drink, or I take a drug, or I yell and scream at the first wrong thing. Or, I am greedy, I am selfish, I think only of myself, I hate you, or I hate myself, and so on.
Focus demands that one totally accepts one's reaction and behavior. I do not give myself excuses. I do not try to justify my reaction, my anger, my selfishness. I accept that is me. I totally accept.
When you totally and wholeheartedly accept it, then you are focused in sharply to that thing that is deep inside you! Then, with the sharp focus you then ask yourself, "What caused me to have this reaction? What made, inside of me, to do it?" The focus will answer your question. You do not answer it yourself. The focus will give you the answer. And then, if you have the courage, you focus more, you sharpen your focus, and asked, "What caused me to have this particular cause that is inside of me to do it?"
What happens is that your range of focus gets sharper and sharper, more refined, more tuned in to the universe that is all around you.
Focus is from your soul! Focus is 4D. Focus separates you from the 3D world!
