Rojas | Warren Rojas x Reader
A/N: This is TV storyline, not book storyline.
Warnings: Mentions of drugs and alcohol
Tumblr media
Eddie: As much as we'd all like to think that Warren was this laid-back, freespirit, there's a part of him that had been broken and taped back together so many times that he never really showed anybody. He just hid it with drugs.
Graham: It really hurt him when Y/N stayed back.
Warren: God, I haven't heard that name in years. Y/N? Y/N L/N? 28 Birchwood avenue, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania? Yeah, I remember her.
Graham: He was infatuated with her.
Eddie: He meant everything to her.
Warren: She meant a lot to me. I mean, of course she did, I almost married her.
Camila: Warren made me stand in the bushes by his house with a camcorder in my hand so I could get the proposal on tape. It turned out good, except for the part when he forgot I was there and started making out with her.
Warren: I picked out a ring and everything. The band didn't know this, but I worked odd jobs on the side. One week I was cleaning someone's gutters and the next I was mowing a lawn, another I was dog sitting. It took me months to save up for a decent ring.
Y/N L/N: Of course I remember Warren. He was the first man I ever loved. I still love him.
Warren: She came to every gig we ever played. Every single one. That is, until we left for LA. I asked her to come with me, but she was still in school.
Graham: We were so proud of her for getting into college. We still are, honestly. Look, I'm happy that I pursued music. Nothing will ever change that. But there's something about going to college that just... I don't know, it sounds right.
Warren: She said she'd meet up with me after she graduated. That was another three years away. But I was willing to wait, and so was she. I promised to call every day and visit when I could.
Y/N: Warren knew how to say all of the right things. And it's not like he was lying, he believed what he was saying. He just didn't always follow through, even if he intended to.
Warren: I called her at the same time every day. Four o'clock. Before we had a gig and after she had school.
Y/N: Everything was fine at first. Then he started going a day or two without calling. That was okay, I knew he was busy. But those days turned into four, then six, then a week. The longest it went was two, three weeks without a single call.
Eddie: I answered the phone one time. She called at the same time every day, so I knew who it was. Warren was on his ass, high and drunk. He couldn't make it to the phone.
Y/N: I asked Eddie to tell Warren to call me when he got the chance. That I needed to talk to him.
Warren: I did call the next day, with a bad hangover. I had a lot of explaining to do.
Y/N: I was not happy when I found out how he had been spending his time.
Warren: She wasn't happy when she found out I was getting high and drinking myself to sleep every night.
Y/N: Drugs, alcohol, you name it, he probably did it or tried it. He knew better than to get into another woman's pants. I would've come up there myself.
Warren: Never cheated though. Point for Warren, I never stooped that low.
Y/N: I told him to get his shit together. Just because two people are apart doesn't mean they can make reckless decisions.
Warren: I thought she hated me. I felt like shit. She was the love of my life.
Y/N: I told him that if he didn't watch it, he'd lose himself, the band, and me.
Warren: I cut back on everything after that. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed weed. I just did it in moderation. Same with the beer.
Y/N: I was proud of him.
Warren: I finally got to see her again when we started going on tour.
Y/N: He got to see me and a positive pregnancy test.
Warren: Turns out, we weren't as careful as we thought.
Y/N: You would've thought he had won the lottery when I told him.
Warren: Warren Rojas Jr...
Y/N: I chose the name. And it was a girl.
Warren: Emilia Warren Rojas...
Y/N: Emilia Lynn Rojas. Everyone called her Em, except for Graham, Eddie, and Warren. Graham and Eddie called her Emi, and Warren called her Warren. My dumbass of a fiance.
Warren: We went everywhere together. The store, backstage, front row of concerts, up the stairs to Y/N's house. She was my little best friend.
Y/N: It was love at first sight. But by the time I moved to LA, the band had split up.
Warren: I missed the music, but I spent my time on boats. It's where I was happy. With my wife and my daughter.
Y/N: We did get married, eventually. I just kept my last name for business reasons, and for privacy. But I guess that's all out the window now. Marry a hall of Fame inductee and your privacy is a window. You have none.
Warren: Warren Jr loved being the center of attention.
Y/N: Em was her father's daughter, she still is. Took up the drums. Back in the day, it wasn't common to see a woman on the drums. They usually stuck to vocals or the keyboard, sometimes the guitar. But not our Em.
Warren: Our son was born a few years later.
Y/N: I was high on pain killers when Warren named our son Theodore Graham. I had agreed to the names separately, not together. Because I knew what was going to happen.
Warren: My little Teddy Graham. She liked the names, just hated the fact that everyone called him the nickname I picked out. Said it reminded her of the cracker. That was the point, though.
Y/N: "C'mon, hot stuff, I want to honor my friends legacies" my ass. It was for that damn nickname.
Warren: She loves it, she just doesn't admit it.
Y/N: Horrible taste in names, but he's all mine.
Warren: Teddy Graham wound up being just like his mama.
Y/N: He likes to try and make me feel better by saying that Teddy is just like me. But I'm an honest person. Both of them are their father made over. It made vacations fun.
Warren: I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Y/N: He's a good husband, always has been. He's an even better dad.
Theodore "Teddy Graham" Rojas, son of Warren and Y/N Rojas: My parents made me into who I am today. My mom definitely did the disciplining and made sure we stayed in school, while dad was letting us sneak into the kitchen at two in the morning to make cookies.
Y/N: I knew everything they did. Playing guitar at midnight when I was in bed on a school night, baking at two, eating junk while I was away on business trips. I just let it slide. They were kids, they deserved to have fun and let loose. It just blows my mind to think I have one out of the house and another a year away from graduating high school.
Emilia Rojas, daughter of Warren and Y/N Rojas and lead drummer of Shortcircut: I was a daddy's girl growing up, still am. But the older I get, the more I appreciate my mom. I've always loved her, but being in her shoes today, I'm unbelievably grateful for her. We talk almost every day now.
Y/N: I'm proud of Warren and the kids. They pushed the limits. I realize they that were privileged to have a father who was in the industry, but they really did this all on their own. We got them lessons, they put themselves out there. Em is touring right now, and Teddy is at home playing his heart out. I'm telling you, just like their father.
Warren: Em and Teddy both have that fire in them like their mother, something I don't think she realizes. They're a lot more like her than she knows.
Y/N: Oh, to be with a Rojas.
Warren: I'll be kissing the ground she walks on for as long as I live—I'm never letting that one go.

“morning”
warren rhodes x reader
just a fluffy warren drabble
You typically woke up before Warren, but today he had the fortune of waking up with the sun. As expected, he chose to bother you instead of letting you sleep peacefully.
He rolled onto your side of the bed and slipped an arm around your waist. He brought his other hand up and grazed his fingers gingerly against your bare shoulder before starting to trace light circles.
You stirred in your sleep, the hair falling away from your face and giving him access to your neck. He leaned down to place soft kisses on the exposed skin.
“Warren,” you mumbled, sleep ridden.
“Wake up, pretty girl,” he said softly, kissing your cheek.
“What time is it?” You rubbed the sleep from your eyes and reached over to the nightstand to check your watch. “5 a.m.?”
You turned your head to look up at him with a questioning stare. You placed the watch back on the wood and rolled over to look at him fully.
Your held your head in your hand and propped your elbow up on a pillow. Both of his arms were loosely around your waist as he grinned up at you.
“Is this what you do when you wake up early? Bother me?” you teased.
“I’m just loving you, baby. Is that so wrong?” he said, still sporting that broad smile.
“It is at this hour.” You turned your body to face away from him as you tried to go back to sleep. He only pulled you closer and kissed your neck, shoulder, and face over and over so you couldn’t do that.
“Damn, Warren, let a woman sleep!” You tried to sound serious, but it was hard with your laughs breaking through.
“Not until you kiss me back.” He was now hovering over you, tapping his lips expectantly with one finger.
You rolled your eyes and gave in, grabbing his face and pulling him in close. His lips landed on yours, and his kiss was full of passion. His arms came down around your back as he kissed you slowly.
You were the first to pull away, and his disappointment was visible. “I’m going to sleep now.”
“Even after that?” he protested with a frown.
“I gave you what you wanted! It’s five in the morning, Warren, what would we even do?”
He grinned mischievously, “I have an idea.”
“No, Warren, absolutely not.” You smacked him with a pillow and turned to lay on your side.
He pulled you to him by the waist and rested his head in the crook of your neck. “Fine, we can do what you want, even if it’s less fun,” he said, sounding defeated, but you were content with getting your way.

“the sunset strip”
warren rhodes x fem!reader
warren’s band might actually have a shot at fame, but where does that leave you? a high conversation confronts the issue.
word count: 1k
Warren passed the blunt to you. The two of you were laying on the floor of his band, staring up at the beige ceiling.
“We’re going to California, man,” he said casually, laughing with a slight cough.
You turned your head to the side and furrowed your brows. “The fuck are you talking about? I’m not going anywhere.”
He shook his head, his curls shaking with it. “I didn’t mean you. I mean the band.”
“The fuck are you talking about?”
He flicks his sunglasses on top of his head and met your eyes where they were. “You wanna come? We’re gonna be something.”
You laughed. “You’re nothing here, no offense. What are you gonna be in the sunshine state?”
He took the blunt back. “Pretty sure that’s Florida, girl.” He took a long drag from it.
“Is it?”
He shrugged. “I dunno geography. I’m in a band. I don’t need to.” He grinned.
“If you’re touring you do,” you pointed out.
He propped himself up on his elbow. “Billy’s serious about this. We’re going to Cali, and we’re gonna be big. We know this guy.”
A snort escaped your lips, a belly laugh following. “Gimme that shit.” You gestured to the weed, and he handed it to you. You took a drag and sang, “California, California dreaming on such a winter’s day,” dragging out the last word.
“Y/n, listen to me, girl,” Warren pleaded. You gave him a skeptical look. “There’s no winter in California.”
You scoffed. “Oh, sure there is. Way up North it gets cold.”
“We won’t be way up north. We’re gonna be performing on the sunset strip. People from all over are gonna be coming to see us.” He brought his other hand up to play with your sprawled out hair. “You could come with us,” he suggested quietly, looking at the strand of hair he twisted between his fingers.
“I thought you didn’t mean me.”
“I mean us and you. Billy’s girlfriend is coming. You’d like her.” He proposed this looking you straight in the eyes, the hair he held falling back to the carpet.
“But I’m not your girlfriend,” you whispered. Your heartbeat was picking up and you got the feeling this wasn’t a good conversation to have high on marijuana.
He sighed and laid down on his back. “I know.” The silence that followed was excruciating. The blood was rushing to your face, and it felt warm to the touch. You were still staring at him while he looked straight up. You put the blunt out and sat up, feeling a sudden confidence within you.
“Warren, what are you saying?” You crossed your arms, and gave him a firm stare, which was really just a facade.
You’d never seen him look so serious. Hell, you’d never send him so much as act serious in the six years you’d known him. He didn’t face you. “You know what I’m saying,” he mumbled.
“Tell me what you really feel.”
He turned his head and showed you his infectious smile. “I feel like you know what I’m feeling.”
You bit back the smile that he always knew how to bring out of you. “Warren, I’m not kidding.”
“Neither am I.” He sat up, his glasses falling off of his head. He didn’t spare them a glance as he crawled toward you.
You fought hard to keep the smile off your face. “Don’t look at me like that.”
“Like what?” he said innocently, but you knew he knew exactly what you meant. He came closer until he hovered above your legs and his arms boxed you against the wall.
“Warren, be serious.” You were basically laughing at this point, his nose coming to nudge yours.
“I’m serious about you, girl.” The shit had the nerve to grin at you while you gave up all hope of holding a straight face. “Loved you forever, but we got nothing here. Come to the sunset strip with us.”
You couldn’t hold back you laugh. “That’s some poetic shit, man, you should take that up with Billy.”
“Hell, I’ll write a song about you myself.” He leaned in and kissed you then, arms wrapping around your waist as he pulled you up against him. You kissed back feverishly, slinging your arms loosely around his next.
He pulled away and gave you a toothy smile. “So, my girl, what do you say?”
You bit your lip, fighting the smile once again. “I guess I could tag along.”
He said, “That’s what I like to hear,” before leaning back in.

“engagement”
warren rhodes x fem!reader
warren proposes to you and life couldn’t be better (set before the production of aurora starts)
lord this man has me writing all this soft shit. part 2
“Oh, my God, oh, my God,” you muttered while running to the house. You practically slammed open the sliding door, startling Camila and Karen, who stood against the kitchen counter.
“Jesus, you scared me,” Camila said with a hand over her heart. Karen noticed the look on your face and got concerned.
“Is something wrong?” she asked.
You broke out into a wide smile and let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. “No, quite the opposite.”
You held out your left hand for them to see. “Is that what I think it is?” Camila gasped and rounded the corner of the counter, Karen following suit.
Her mouth agape, she took your hand to get a better look at the ring. “He didn’t.” She looked up at you in shock.
“Let me see,” Karen said and took your hand from Camila’s. “Oh, my God. Is that moonstone?”
“It is!” You bit your lip in excitement.
“Who cares what the rock is? You’re getting married!” Camila said, pulling you in for a tight hug.
When you pulled apart, Karen took your arms and you two started jumping around, “Y/n is getting married! Y/n is getting married!” she chanted.
Camila joined in, and the three of you danced around the living room in gleeful joy. You didn’t even notice Daisy came inside until she spoke. “What’s going on in here?”
You all stopped moving and tried to act casual. “Oh, it’s nothing. I’m just getting married!”
“What? Oh, my God, tell me everything now.” Daisy said, feeling the excitement in the room. You sat down on the couch, and the girls surrounded you, eager to hear the story.
“So, we were on a walk down at the beach when he did it. We were standing in the water where it was like ankle deep just throwing rocks and shit. Out of nowhere, he drops down on one knee and pulls out this ring. Then, he’s telling me I’m the only woman for him, and I’m saying yes before he gets the question out.”
Daisy grinned. “Wow, I never knew Warren could be such a romantic.”
“Sorry, but did you just run all the way here after?” Karen asked.
You looked down sheepishly. “Sort of, but it’s not like I ran away from him or anything. He’s probably telling the guys right now.”
“We have to celebrate,” Camila said. “I’m having all of you over tonight.”
—————
By nightfall, the eight of you were gathered in the living room, drunk off your asses (except Billy) and laughing about stupid shit.
“Oh, remember the time when Warren drank too much and started telling all the groupies conspiracies about the government,” Graham said, laughing loudly.
“He also told them that I secretly read Cosmopolitan. So, thank you Warren for losing me a lot of play that night,” Eddie rolled his eyes and took a sip of his beer.
“Man, I only told them that because it’s true,” Warren snickered while you laughed at Eddie’s misfortune.
You were sat on Warren’s lap wearing a short white sundress. His arms came around your waist as he pulled you close enough to whisper in your ear, “You look so gorgeous right now.”
You felt your face heat up immediately. Of course, this was something he would say when nobody was listening, while the others were too wrapped up in their drinks and embarrassing stories to notice.
He leaned his head back on the top of the chair, gazing up at you with a kind of admiration he’d only ever had for you. God, you were marrying this man, and he still had the power to make you feel shy.
“Stop looking at me like that.”
“I can’t look at my wife?” He offered you a toothy grin and reached a hand up to play with your hair.
Your lips quirked up in a wide smile. Your hid your face in his shoulder. “You’re too much, Warren,” you whispered against his shirt.
You felt his chest move as he laughed. “You better get used to me calling you that. You’ll be hearing it for the rest of your life.
You moved your head from his shoulder to find him looking back at you. “I really don’t mind that.”

Being in a relationship with Warren Rojas | Headcannons/Timeline
A/N: Sorry the GIF is so small lmao. Bit of angst in this one but it's got a happy ending, mentions death
Daisy Jones and The Six Masterlist
Tumblr media
- You and Warren met while he was working on boats to bring in some income to stay afloat while the band was on hiatus
- You had the whole privileged rich girl going for you, never daring to break the rules and wanting to protect your image. Warren, on the other hand, strolled into his first day working high as a kite.
- He did his job well, and when you got him lunch that day, as you did everyone who was working as a treat, he jokingly asked you to marry him as he scarfed down a sandwich.
- Your mother, a famous actress, and your father, a filmmaker, owned a boat that was in need of repairs and a cleaning.
- While your parents were at work, you sat on the edge of the dock with Warren, effectively dragging out how long it took him to do his work. But he enjoyed your company.
- The two of you made out in the captains quarters a few days after meeting. If it hadn't been for you seeing your dad pull up in his car, it probably would've gone further.
- You and Warren continued to sneak sround though, whether it was in his van, at his place, on the boat, on the beach. He had to keep a somewhat low profile as the band's popularity grew, so official dates weren't really in the cards.
- Once your father found out about your relationship with the drummer, he flipped out, immediately telling your mother. The two of them sat you down and told you that you were wasting your life on a nobody.
- You told them he's not a nobody, he means everything to you.
- Giving you an ultimatum, he said it was either them or him.
- You called Warren, waking him up at around midnight asking him to pick you up at the pub by your house.
- He came to get you, no questions asked
- When you got in the car, you started crying. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into his lap as you let out your frustrations.
- You told him you didn't have a family to go back to. He said "bullshit" and asked if you wanted to elope.
- Figuring it couldn't get any worse, you agreed. You walked into your parents house, who thought you had come to your senses. But you walked right past them and went to your room, fitting anything and everything you could into bags and another suitcase, loading them into Warren's van. You left without another word.
- Warren drove you to Vegas and the two of you stopped by a dingy wedding chapel. You got changed into one of your white, lace sundresses and let your hair down. Warren wore a button up, actually snapping a few of the bottom buttons to "make it more formal" and jeans.
- The two of you exchanged vows and filed for a marriage license. While you weren't technically legally married yet, you had the ceremony out of the way.
- You moved into Warren's place, separate from the band, who didn't learn about your wedding until they broke up. There were many questionable things Warren did, but he wasn't going to make the mistake of letting the press get in the way of your relationship.
- The band asked what he was going to do now that The Six was finished, and he said he was going to go home to his wife. They laughed, thinking he was joking, but he was dead serious. He didn't wear a ring on his finger. Instead, he wore it on a chain around his neck. They thought it was a fashion choice.
- Graham was the first to meet you, introducing himself to you. He was surprised to find you seven months pregnant.
- Warren was thrilled at the idea of being a dad, and later asked Graham if he'd be the godfather.
- When you gave birth to your baby girl, you decided on the name Aurora James after the band's album and James because, well, you were running out of ideas.
- Your parents reached out and tried to bribe you to come back home and raise the baby, as Warren wouldn't be "a fit husband". You refused and told them never to contact you again.
- They went to the press and revealed that you were a disappointment to the family name. Warren carried you through it, saying you had his family name now. None of that mattered anymore.
- Warren got a job renting boats out to people and made a decent living on it, on top of the money he had from his days in the band and the royalties he still earned from the albums.
- When your second daughter, Daphne, was born, you and Warren took turns taking care of the girls. When you needed extra sleep, he'd balance them each on a hip and do his zoomba workouts.
- Your third child, a boy who you named Reggie because Warren liked the way Reggie Rojas sounded, kept the two of you on your toes. He was his father made over.
- Warren eventually sold his business, not before buying one of his own, and made millions off of it. The two of you sailed around the world after your kids left for college. Or, in Reggie's case, to pursue music.
- Warren passed before you did, which broke your heart. You continued sailing, staying closer to home and not going too far out in his memory, letting the breeze take you in the right direction.
- You attended his posthumous induction into the Rock Hall of Fame with your children and grandchildren. You also witnessed your son being inducted before your ultimate death a few years later.

Request: hey!!! can you write a warren x reader one-shot where they are dating and the reader is a movie actress and has a very intimate scene with her costar and warren gets jealous?

Taglist: @celestialstar111
Daisy Jones and The Six Masterlist
Tumblr media
Warren stomped around his houseboat, fuming, "He was basically ripping your clothes off, Y/N!"
"Warren, I'm an actress," You grumbled, following him around every corner as he rambled on and on about having to watch you get intimate with another guy, "It's part of my job."
"You could've said no!" He exclaimed, turning on his heels, his hands flying in the air, "You think I want to watch my girlfriend screw—screw some random guy while I watch?"
Warren Rojas, on the surface, was a carefree, laid-back guy who happened to play in a world famous band and own a houseboat. But deep down, he was insecure in his relationships. Jealousy came easily to him, something you hadn't realized when the two of you started seeing each other.
But that was one minor setback with the two of you. It was better than your ex, who made it his personal goal to try and turn you from an actress who loved what she did to a little housewife who did as she was told.
"I told you—I warned you—that we were doing that scene today," You hissed, "Of all the days you could've come, you had to choose that one?"
He shrugged, "I wanted to make sure he didn't pull a move on you."
"We had a whole film crew watching us—what move would we have pulled?" You asked.
"I don't—I don't know... He seems flexible from what I saw," Warren stuttered, his hands on his hips, "Either way, I don't know that I like the idea of my girlfriend sleeping with other guys."
You rolled your eyes, "I'm not sleeping with other guys, Warren! You're the only guy I'm sleeping with."
The tension in his shoulders loosened a bit. You could see the way they dropped slightly, not as rigid as they had been when the arguement started.
He scratched the back of his neck, "You're the only girl I'm sleeping with."
"That's because we're dating, baby," You said, unable to hide the smile on your face.
Warren tapped his foot against the deck, "So, you didn't...feel anything?"
Crossing your arms, you looked him up and down, "Feel...? Like his thing pressing into my thigh or an attachment?"
"Both?" His voice raised at the end, unsure if what he was saying would upset you.
"Is that a question or an answer, Warren?"
He sighed, running a hand through his curls, "A question."
You shook your head, "No, I didn't feel anything. You know you're the only guy for me. It's you or nothing."
His eyes lit up, "Wait—really?"
"Warren, you've been grilling me about having fake sex with my costar for the past twenty minutes and the second I tell you that you're the only one—you stop?"
His cheeks reddened and he bowed his head, his hands clasping behind his back as he rocked back and forth on his heels, "Maybe..."
You took a step towards him, your hands cupping his face and pulling him to you. Your lips met, moving against one another's.
When you finally pulled away, Warren had a dreamy expression plastered over his face.
"I'm sorry," He apologized, "I should've... I should've trusted you more. I was being an asshole. I just—I don't want to lose you."
"You're not going to lose me," You said, taking his hands in yours, "I love you, Warren. And before you ask—yes, I mean it."
Warren pressed a kiss to your forehead, "I love you, too, honeybun."
You usually cringed at his nickname for you, as it always struck you as being sickeningly sweet. But this time, it felt different. It rolled off his tongue.
He leaned forward, bringing his mouth to your ear, whispering, "Do you want to take this to my room?"
"You want to screw me on your houseboat?"
Warren playfully gasped, taking a step back, his brows raised, "Me? Screw you? No, I want to make love to you."
"Don't get all sappy on me, Rojas," You said, heading in the direction of his room.
"Wait, so is that a yes?" He called out, but you didn't respond, "Y/N?"
Warren chased after you, a smile painted on his face. He'd chase after you for the rest of his life to remind you how much he loved you, even if you already knew.

You glanced anxiously out the open window. Gray clouds were beginning to fill the sky as the breeze picked up. You fidgeted with the ring on your finger while watching the waves become rougher.
“Would you sit still?” Camila said, trying to effectively braid your hair.
“Do you think it’s gonna rain?” You asked, still staring outside.
Camila turned her head to look at Karen for support, who sat on your bed. “Probably,” she said.
“Karen!” Camila scolded.
“What? I’m being honest.” She smoothed out her silk dress that matched Camila’s. “This is nice bedding, by the way. I really love what you’ve done with this place. Thank God he couldn’t convince you to live on that boat.”
You ended your staring contest with the ocean and met her eyes in the vanity mirror. “I compromised with a house on the water. It’s beautiful, but I am deathly afraid of hurricanes.”
“Well that’s unfortunate because it looks like one is upon us,” Karen said, reaching over to the nightstand for the champagne bottle. She refilled her glass and sipped it, looking smug.
“Are you drunk already?” Camila asked, a bit annoyed. “The wedding starts in an hour.”
“I sure hope not. You two are the only bridesmaids who are currently here. Not sure where Daisy is,” you said worriedly.
“She’ll show up later,” Camila assured, not sounding too confident herself. “And I’m not a bridesmaid, I’m the maid of honor.” She tied your hair off with a white ribbon and smiled proudly at you in the mirror.
Karen stood up from the bed and bent down to hug you from behind. She rested her head on your shoulder. “You look so beautiful, Y/n.”
You let a breathy laugh escape your lips as they drew into a wide smile. You brought your hand up to rest on her forearm. “Thank you, both of you. I’m so happy you’re here.” You felt your eyes well up unexpectedly.
Camila was quick to bring a tissue to your face. “Don’t go crying on us now,” she said, kneeling down to dab it under your eyes. “You know we’ll cry too.”
You laughed through your nose and smiled broadly. “I know.”
Karen pulled her arms away from your body to pat your shoulders. “Shall we get the dress?”
Camila nodded with excitement and rushed to the bathroom where your dress was hanging up. Karen followed close behind.
You turned to look at yourself in the mirror. You sniffled and wiped your nose with the tissue Camila left in your hand. God, you were so emotional.
Three weeks ago, Warren was proposing to you on the beach, and now you were going to marry him in the same spot. It felt like a dream. None of this felt real, but all of it was happening.
Karen and Camila came back to the room, Karen holding the dress, and Camila holding onto Daisy’s arm.
“Daisy!” you exclaimed. “You’re here.” You stood from your seat and pulled her into a hug.
“Of course, I’m here. What? Did you think I wasn’t coming?”
You grimaced. “Do you want me to answer that honestly?”
She scoffed and rolled her eyes. “No, I really don’t.”
Karen laid the dress out on your bed. Camila took Daisy’s dress off of the hanger and left the room with the other two women, closing the door behind them.
You removed your clothes and slipped into your wedding dress. The sleeves were long and were draped off the shoulders. The flowing skirt billowed onto the floor.
You stared at yourself in the mirror. “Camila!” you called.
She came rushing in seconds later. “What? Is something wrong?” A hand flew to her mouth. “Oh, my God. It’s so perfect.”
She grabbed your hands and whirled you around so she could take in the dress. “You are the most beautiful bride,” she said after a moment of studying the white fabric.
Her bright smile matched your own as she said, “Let’s go get you hitched.”

The ceremony was better than you could have imagined. It was small, with only immediate family and close friends attending.
Chairs were set up on the beach in front of your new house. It was windy, but the breeze wasn’t chilling. You were still a bit concerned about the possibility of rain.
The moment you saw Warren down that aisle all your worries floated away. He looked astonishing in that white suit. He grinned at you like he knew you were nervous. He was too, but there was no doubt in his mind he was making the right decision when he saw you in that dress.
You said “I do” on the same sand he asked you to marry him on. The priest barely finished pronouncing you husband and wife before Warren was kissing you with a ferocity that made your knees weak.
You were overwhelmed with happiness during the reception. You almost burst into tears when Eddie and Camila gave their speeches.
Everyone was dancing around your backyard under the soft light of the lanterns decorating the sky.
It was so beautiful. Everything was perfect, and you were beyond ready to start the rest of your life with your husband.
