Any suggestions for authors like T. Kingfisher? I'm almost finished reading all of her books and am worried I will never find another author that scratches the itch the same way she does. Any genre is fine, but my favorites are her fantasy books (particularly the Clocktaur series).
#heather dixon wallwork is another author whose writing scratched the itch if that helps#their writing just feels so...light?? if that makes sense#its light and airy and funny and so easy to read#bonus points for fantasy authors whose books are world-built well but not too complicated or with too many threads#i love it when the shape of the world is described and the vibes and the wonder of it all but the details are kept simple#i am quite stupid and get frusturated by super complicated fantasy books with plot lines that are like#detailed medieval political intrigue with dragons. you know the kind im talking about

The Enchanted Sonata by Heather Dixon Wallwork - A retelling of The Nutcracker. Loved the role music played in this. ❤️ Oh gracious and the sweets. For someone who doesn't have much of a sweet tooth this had me craving something sweet a couple of times while reading it.

Day 14:
A book you didn’t read this year that will be your #1 priority in 2024?
I'm feeling a strong desire to reread, but not sure what I'll start with. Maybe The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins or The Shadow of the Bear by Regina Doman.
(Edit: it was still a reread, but In the Forests of Serre by Patricia McKillip was my first read of 2024)
New book you are most anticipating for 2024?
I guess The Silent Bells by N.D. Wilson AKA the fourth Ashtown Burials as it's still in-progress.

A book that made you want to learn more about a subject
This might not quite fit, but Respect the Spindle by Abby Franquemont made me spend some time looking up more information on spinning online in hopes that something there would help my head get around it (it didn't).
A book you struggled with but completed
RAF by Richard Overy. Very dry, if short, overview of the inter-world-war period, if I recall correctly. Do not recommend.
A book that made you laugh
The Enchanted Sonata by Heather Dixon Wallwork.
