Lashing points are something that can easily be missed when converting a van. These can be essential when moving various items around in the van but are quickly forgotten about. I mainly use lashing points for securing mountain bikes. Don't forget to cut a hole in your cladding or ply lining to allow for the lashing hooks. Most vans will already have lashing points installed. If you have a vw caddy maxi and want to install one to either side of the van you can do this using the pre existing holes in the vans internal skin. To fix the lashing point to the side of the van. Recently purchased this amazing windscreen cover from @uk_customcovers . I haven't had the chance to install the curtain into the van yet and 2 weeks ago we were heading down to cornwall for the weekend. So a last minute order was placed and I was not disappointed! Once I'd completed the sound deadening, the next step was to start the insulation. For insulation I've again used recycled bottle plastic from @bandq_uk . Its pretty easy to do, stuff all the insulation into all the cavities and then secure it to the panels using aluminium tape from @wickes . I then covered all of this with thermawrap to create the condensation barrier. Looking back now there might be a better way to do this but I've always done it on a budget. Once I had cleaned out and stripped the caddy I painted over all the tiny scratches with hammerite. Putting this on sections where the original paint has been chipped off and bare metal can be seen.
