🦴- Boy howdy is there a piece of media that inspires my writing haha. I have quite a few that it's hard to put name to them all. Whenever I read a book or watch a movie/show I always feel like I take something away from them in order to incorporate into my own writing, but if I were to choose a few specific pieces of media that really inspire my writing, it would be Hannibal, what with the beautiful imagery and the way it is almost poetic in its brutality. I think the writers of the show did a really good job, and I just absolutely adore it. True Detective (season one) is also a piece of media that REALLY influences my writing. I adore the gothic vibes, and I love the way they make the characters human, realistic, with lots of flaws, instead of making them into heroes, and I am just in love with the very synesthetic feeling it gives, I myself am synesthetic and I think it really resonated with me in a way, and gave me a lot of inspiration as in how to describe scenes and emotions. Catch-22, both the book, film, and tv show, have all inspired my idea of Bucky in the war, and I have a few songs including Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youths, О как хотела мама by Shortparis, Две недели by Aigel, and O, Children by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, that heavily inspire a lot of my Russian-era Bucky Barnes writing, as well as, for some funny reason, the TV show Бригада. I just feel like the show really shows both the human and terrible, gritty side to organized crime that I am CERTAIN Bucky was involved in, in some way, shape or form. Another film/book that has, heavily and directly, inspired my both my fanfiction writing and original writing is the 2008 film, "Morphine" and the inspiration behind it, the novella by Bulgakov, Morphine. My fic Noch' Ulista Fonar' Apteka was very non-subtly inspired by Morphine, so much! AAAND- I better stop here before I write a whole essay about how media has influenced my writing, because I could literally go on forever and ever!!!! ;)
🔪- I think the weirdest thing that I have had to research for a writing project was for my fic Noch' Ulitsa Fonar' Apteka. I had to, somehow, figure out how to write drug addiction from a first hand perspective, and, of course, I myself have not, and never will take any form of recreational drugs, so I had to scout through many pages of google before finding this legendary gem of a website that has been a lifesaver for me. The website looks like it was made in 2008 and I honestly was a little worried about clicking on it, but it turned out fine haha. It has a bunch of really detailed first hand experiences with all sorts of drugs you could imagine, including withdrawal, good trips, bad trips, and coming down. I think I spent a few hours just reading and absorbing everything to try to write Bucky's experience, and honestly, I came away from the research with an even stronger desire to never try drugs, as most of the reports highlighted how the spiral began. But yeah! That might be the weirdest thing I have researched, unless of course, if you count the time I had to research equine veterinary care in 1980s Russia lmao.
🌵- Gilded Soul This is my favourite playlist I've created, and it's so gentle and sweet and I listen to the songs on it so often. I adore it so much! All the songs have memories and feelings attached to them and ugh- my favourite. Hope you enjoy too ;)
❄️- Oh my God I know exactly what this fic is. I really, REALLY want a fic dealing with the aftermath of Hydra and Department X/The Red Room's brainwashing on Bucky in TFAWS era, but in a way where it doesn't become the point of the fic, and is just like a part of him in subtle, slightly noticeable, and not overwhelming way. I want to see him struggle and yet stay strong, stay independent. I want to see him have realistic feelings towards things like therapy and such, considering the time period he is from, and the fact that he's probably been abused in such settings before. I want to see him make bad, unhealthy decisions while still remaining himself. I want to see him smoke his anger away, I want his staring problem to be addressed subtly as a leftover from when he was trained to look straight ahead while in parade rest, I really want to see him have headaches, mild psychosis, and all the realistic after-effects of electro-shock therapy, and yet, I really do not want to see it in a way that makes him dependent, or child-like. I want to see him get up, grit his jaw and move on. It isn't the healthiest way for somebody to cope, but it's the way I am guessing Bucky would cope. I want a fic that has an overarching plot where these issues are a subplot, as not to make it ALL about his recovery, instead being interesting and realistic in the world that he would be living in. I feel like I have said realistic so many times, and that is the core of it all. I want it to be as realistic and true to comic/film character as possible. I might not make much sense but yeah! That's what I really want to read, and I don't know who would be the best writer to write it!
🍄- OOOH I like this one! A headcanon I have is that Bucky and Natasha dance a lot. They are both trained dancers, and they love it, and they just put on gentle, nostalgic Russian music and dance so prettily together when they are alone!
🏜️- Oh for sure the types of comments that point out what affected them personally. I really want to connect to people through my writing and whenever somebody comments that a certain bit made them feel in a specific way I just absolutely melt in joy and delight!!!

Buy Ukrainian
If you saw my post about the book "Unconquered" but couldn't take the heavy price tag just yet, you can get a second wave of the book on Indiegogo leading into March. Your name won't be added to the support list but you'll at least be getting a copy yourself sooner than waiting for it to be available months down the line and know that your support is there sooner as well.
Alternatively, please consider checking Made With Bravery, which is kind of like etsy, with the bonus of money spent on commission going to help Ukraine (sent to charities devoted to it) as well as an additional 5% of purchase if you use your Visa card. You can get clothes and accessories and the like.
There is also Spend With Ukraine, which offers a list of Ukrainian based companies you can buy from. (The only thing missing that might be of interest are entertainment companies such as for video games. See below.)
An important note, of course, should be made that you shouldn't expect ship times to be the same as you get from other places. Remember, it is still a war zone. But they are doing their best to get things out in order to bring money in to help the effort.
Speaking of, I got another email from Frogwares (developer of the super successful Sherlock Holmes games such as Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter and Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper) about having to delay the next SH game (Sherlock Homes: The Awakened which is technically a redo of an older game but same difference really since they are adding a bunch of stuff to it). So perhaps consider proving to them you really don't care it's been delayed and pre-order it or buy one of their other games (such as Magrunner Dark Pulse or The Sinking City in addition to the Sherlock Holmes games they've made). Also an option on the video games front: 4A Games, known for the Metro games (lost at least one of their developers in the war); GSC Game World, known for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (also lost at least one of their devs in the war and changed the spelling of their next game to Chornobyl which has garnered even further scorn along with its delaying due to the war). GSC also asks for support sent to United24, which is where the Made With Bravery money goes as well.
Also worth mentioning though I don't see them having many big games on the horizon: Beatshapers, Best Way, Vostok Games, Room 8. Best Way is apparently working on Men of War 2, and Room 8 has actually helped develop games like Deathloop and Returnal (both very similar) and have a couple games in-house that have been published since the war started such as Syberia: The World Before.
(You may also be familiar with Chernobylite which is actually developed by a Polish company but they have given their support to the Ukrainian war effort so it's only fair they be mentioned as well.)
We all offer support in our own ways. If it takes getting something out of it yourself that is more tangible, there are options. I'm sure there are a few I'm missing outside of any earlier posts I may have reblogged when it comes to charity for the war effort. If any links break or don't send you to the right place, they are all easily (re)found via Googling the names I have given (maybe with 'video game' tacked on or w/e) or however else you search for sites.

CONCEPT
Lately, I've been brainstorming a cool DC Comic storyline just for fun, and I think I've hit upon something pretty exciting. It's a team-based plot called "The Great Powers." The idea is that superheroes from the world's major countries unite to address the real issues plaguing their homelands. It's like a JLI setup, but instead of focusing solely on crime fighting, they tackle problems like corrupt governments and unjust laws. They're not out to cause harm, but they're willing to take on oppressive leaders if necessary. Of course, they aim for peace first and foremost, but they won't hesitate to act if it means making the world a better place.
INNER WORKINGS
The Great Powers operate through a council-based system, with the leaders of each faction in every country calling the shots. While everyone else is informed, they have no say in the decision-making process. During votes, they can only try to influence their leaders beforehand. Every member is prepared for war because the current rulers and politicians are not the most benevolent, and being ready to overthrow them is crucial. However, before any action is taken, they must gather as much information as possible and strive for peace. Playing the long game is their greatest strategy. This mission is of utmost importance and must be handled with the utmost care. It's okay for personal ideas or feelings to come into play, as this isn't just a job – it's a cause they deeply care about, and they need all their members to be at their best, both mentally and physically.

FINAL NOTES
In my first ever post on this app, I understand that my topic might not appeal to everyone. I've been considering adding Cassandra Sandsmark to the Russia Faction. I believe she and Leonid might get along well for a few reasons. They were both on the Teen Titans, and when someone called him a jerk, she defended him, stating that he'd been through a lot. They also experienced a lot of loss together in the Superboy Prime disaster. Additionally, in the recent Tom King Wonder Woman run, Amazons seem to be getting purged from the United States and deported. In Russia, metahumans are shamed, treated poorly, and even slaughtered in the streets without anyone reporting the incidents. The only time they are allowed to coexist within Russian society is if the government issues an allowance for their abilities in workspaces, where they are overworked for being born with what people see as an advantage. Even then, they are seen as mere tools for their country and not as people.

Mass Effect 1 replay, Maroon Sea:
Caspian
Farnuri – Once it had an oxygenated amtosphere. Now it does not. Given the youth of the star and the gravity of the planet, that’s unusual. Game suggests could be caused by cataclysmic event – Reapers?
-MSV Cornucopia – The Dragon’s Teeth that created the husks are in the side rooms.
-What alien artifact drove them to drive the ship into the Perseus Veil? Reaper related?
-This is another question Legion really should have been asked. Based on ME2, only heretics were husking people. So if this ship went into the Perseus Veil and got husked, what went down? That’s where the true geth were.
-Another thread never picked up in later games.
Vostok
-Nordacrux – Yet another planet almost perfect for colonization, but not quite because of an issue with it’s atmosphere. In this case pollen. For some reason, that’s treated as more difficult to work around then Elatania’s issue with symbiotic creatures in the air.
-Interesting that the Thorian creepers nearby what looks like a crashed ship and research trailer are unmarked. Presumably the “test samples” mentioned in the transmission found on Feros did indeed become hostile.
-This is easily the best prefab structure in the game so far. It actually looks unique! There’s a bar, the first room has seating like a waiting room, there’s one of those thorian sacks on the wall… Well done, whoever designed this.
-Back room on the right is also designed well. The pods look like they’re the Normandy sleep pods and I think the hanging structures are from the med bay, but the way it’s set up this looks like a lab.
-Also, bodies. Presumably researchers.
-It’s been about a month since Feros was infected. How the hell has ExoGeni already captured Thorian Creepers and figured out how to make them docile and obedient?
I think Bioware’s so used to working on crunch time they’ve forgotten what a realistic time frame looks like. Someone let these devs sleep.
-So, paragon and renegade ends in researchers dead. Go neutral, you take a bribe.
Matano
-Supay – Bioware’s grasp of human nature shines through again air. Ships land, gather water, and are charged automatically for it by satellites. These satellites keep being “accidentally” destroyed. This will absolutely happen in the future.
-Chasca – The alien art with the ring sounds amazing.
-Finally, a Prothean pyramid that is actively being researched. Hope they don’t mind that Shepard looted them.
-And back to husks. They’re easier to kill than Thorian Creepers, at least.
-There are Dragon’s Teeth everywhere. Supposedly, this was caused by a Cerberus visitor that came through the colony. So where did all the Dragon’s Teeth come from? Did the dude just drop some around each building while whistling? Did whatever cause the husking make the colony create Dragon’s Teeth?
-The Feros communication about this colony mentioned samples, and the doctor’s concern about sending them before there is an antidote. What samples? And an antidote to husking? None of this makes sense.

HELLO SADIE! Ahh, thank you so much for the questions, fella. Sorry for the late reply, it was Eid yesterday so I was so busy <3 (It was so fun!)
🕯️- I would have to say a solid 4. I do not enjoy reading back my work, I always cringe too hard, but the satisfaction of finding a little bit that is awkward and molding it into a better, much more seamless piece really strikes a chord on the satisfaction machine, and it's real nice. The only reason I gave it this low of a rating is really the inability to re-read my stuff. I wish I could do it without wanting to die in a hole, but alas! I cannot lmao.
🎲- Honestly, just lack of confidence and motivation. I always have a lot of ideas I really want to write about, and a lot of plots and directions I want my stories to take, but I don't have a lot of confidence, and then I just don't- write. I should probably gain a little bit more self-confidence with my writing, and then the words will probably flow well! Another reason is the fact that I do really struggle with getting the words down. I have the pictures in my head, but getting words to form those pictures down on paper (or screen) is incredibly difficult to do in a satisfying manner. I suppose I might be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to writing in that I want my work to be perfect, which isn't really possible.
🍬- Oh boy I love these questions haha. Here is one that I think is somewhat controversial. I really appreciate the fact that in the panels of the show, they didn't change his name to The White Wolf. It sorta of, to me, shows that as much as he might not like it, he still was and till now is the Winter Soldier. Some people say that it isn't fair that Sam got his arc as Captain America and Bucky didn't get his transformation into the White Wolf, but I just- I don't know, I like the idea of him reclaiming the title Winter Soldier. He might try to run from it, or to hide his past, but in the end people still recognize him as the Winter Soldier, and people recognize Sam as the new Captain America. The show didn't show any parts of the White Wolf, and still showed how Bucky falls into his fighting stance easily and with grace. It shows the characters using the Winter Soldier title to advance in their mission, and it shows the fact that being the Winter Soldier is still a major playing factor in Bucky's life, whether it's the past coming back to haunt him, or the fact that he is still seen as a criminal (he IS a criminal that boy broke a terrorist out of prison and missed court mandated therapy LMAO). Idk, I just quite like it. I like the idea of Bucky realizing that he cannot escape his past, and that he can, even though he is the "former" Winter Soldier, he can still be good. Sort of like Natasha not giving up the title Black Widow even though she defected from the Red Room. Yeah. And I think that might be quite unpopular to some!
🔪- Oh one of the weirdest things I have had to research is veterinary medication and psychiatric treatments in the 1980s Soviet Union. I am still in the process of researching this for a current fic I am working on, but yeah. It's super absurd to me. It's such an odd topic, and it is incredibly difficult to find English source material, so I keep having to grind through texts with my A2 Russian and Google Translate haha. It's super interesting though, and in the process of this, I have fallen down several rabbit-holes including the common Soviet village house, Caucasian last name meanings and frequencies, and, my favourite, 80s Soviet music!

Body carved by fortitude and blade, you understood the codes recited under your tongue, obeyed as justice, practiced as law. A protégée sold as the poster child for perfection; the favor in which you were bestowed from S Corp rested atop your head, a thorn of nettles mistaken for a crown. The heir of the underground who only had to walk the road dictated by perfection to retain your glory. A radiance that blinded, one would've thought you were Apollo and yet - once you touched the almighty sun; you felt the clip of the thorns and feathers sending you to your demise, your fate to be worse than Icarus's fall.
The unraveling began the moment you defied what was destined before you. No more of the underground would you keep when there was so much more to what laid above - or so you thought. Your new habitat aboveground was a choice made with the hopes of reconfiguring a hierarchy determined by partition. Beliefs of unwavering devotion and adoration would surely rally change - a world remade better. Progress would be championed under your image, after all — you were always the most beloved. so lately i’ve been mildly obsessed with the new werewolf pack for the sims 4 and the townie family in that world is the volkovs and like the lore is very intriguing but when i was watching ‘white knights’ i kept thinking valentina the soviet physicist’s last name was vostov and i didn’t realize why until i went back to my game and i was like. oh my brain really just mashed ‘vostov’ and ‘vostok’ together huh
