i had this comic in mind for the past couple months and only just now got around to executing it haha. edmonton is always covered in gravel and sand left behind after the snow and ice melts in march and april before street sweeping begins, an annual condition that victoria basically never experiences ever. if we're lucky, we might even see a daffodil or two before may!

My daughter runs a hospital for moths
and seems to be on duty at all hours.

more comics about wintering in victoria
the biggest fights on the victoria social medias seem to centre around tolerance for the cold and a lot of people on both ends seem to take teasing very personally. Me, I'm just frustrated that they only have a couple days a year where the folks who can close or work or attend class from home can do so, where there's a lot of high risk on the roads because they are often steep, erratically clear and not fitted correctly, and yet they seem to want it to be business as usual.
My mum was able to walk to work while my dad fell down on his bike about three times (even with winter tires!) while my sister was in limbo as the university hummed and hawed about closing and it wasn't clear transit would even run by the time most students had already gotten stuck on campus and the university shut down. And then the same thing happened the next day anyway!
Of course, Edmonton should know better on the first snowfall too, but we usually don't prepare adequately either p:

Idk what to do when you lay an egg man
Everyone decided the best way to define after a egg-tastic day was to pull out all the stops and sleep in the living room. Lloyd and Nya got special privileges to take the couch while everyone else got the floor.
Kai of course snuck himself on their easy chair.
Lloyd, holding the egg: I feel like we should hide it somewhere. If Wu is right- and he's 100% right with this- then having it out where some villain can yoink it is dangerous.
Vivian, laying right by the couch: Lloyd.
Lloyd, flustered: Insane, world-ending, egotistical villain.
Pixal: I would offer a place of security in my father's vault, but I think we've seen what's occurred when a villain takes over the city.
Kai: Yeah, what the hell is up with your dad's tower being evil central?
Pixal shrugs, opting to snuggle up between Cole and Zane.
Nya: Then we should maybe move the egg to a location that isn't prone to villain attacks. What about Shintaro?
Jay: Yeah, we could visit Queen Vania-
Cole: Princess.
The group 'huh?' collectively.
Kai: Princess?
Zane: I thought Vania was crowned ruler when we last saw her?
Cole: She was. But she reverted cause the title is reserved for married royals, and last I heard, she's trying to fight the courts to allow her to marry her girlfriend.
Lloyd: Vania has a girlfriend?
Cole: Yeah, some princess from that uncovered Birchwood Cavern Kingdom. I think her name is Princess Plush?
Lloyd sinks into the couch, egg held a bit tighter.
Lloyd: So that might be a good start.
