A Little Something [The Other Side] - AvA / AvM Fan-Made

I couldn't think of a title.

This one is a result of a poll where the majority of votes was getting nothing. So y'all get nothing. The story stops before anything even happens.

Also, Keep Reading for some lore drops.

Introducing vic's New Weapons

The white sphere is vic's Influence. It's his natural ability to recruit anyone into his inner circle. No one can resist it. Sure, it might take time on some sticks but everyone will always give in.

This is how he basically seduces A. He spams it a lot and A was telling him that he doesn't need to do that anymore because he's not going anywhere.

vic doesn't always use the Influence, though. The effectivity depends on whether he likes the stick in the first place. If he hates them, then he won't use it. The duration of the effect also depends on their compatibility.

The red cube is vic's Limit Breaker. After Rush Hour, King was hired at the Rocket Corp where he's given unlimited access to the all the toys (equipment) he wants as long as he helps The Monochromes make the Limit Breaker last longer.

It functions the same as The Box, with the core component being H's powers (will explain more about this in the future). It gives vic enhanced strength, but it only lasts for 12 seconds before breaking apart.

King, being the genius inventor that he is, did not only make it unbreakable, he also made it compatible with vic's Influence. So, now, everyone in vic's Inner Circle (basically, all his family and the mercs) are enhanced/protected, but the range is limited. So, he needs to be at the front lines to be actually useful.

The effects of the Limit Breaker also extends to vic's Clones. He can make clones naturally without the need for The Box. He mainly uses it to satisfy A, and not for combat. Once the Clones return to vic, all their memories, feelings, and experience (pain or pleasure) will play inside his head, one at a time. So, he's usually so out of it for an hour or so.

Each clone possesses one aspect of his personality, so they all talk differently from each other. They also have a mind of their own, but they rarely go against the main goal.

The Clones and vic are what I refer to as A's Harem.

Parody Weapons

These are weapons that are not canon to the plot of the AU, but he still uses them for roleplaying.

The Limit Breaker Staff - Developed by King, of course. It increases the range of vic's Influence and also enhances the effects of the Limit Breaker. He cannot use it on himself, so it's more of a Support weapon.

Smoke Bombs and the Holy Smoke Bomb - For running away from our problems and Bonus Holy Damage 'cause why not.

DIY Hammer - A large hammer for DIY, because he can be the man of the house too.

Cowboy Hat plus Lasso - Mainly for cosplay and character design. Not really a weapon. Perfect for covering your blushing face too.

I love drawing my characters in a 3D plane.

That thing is vic's fancy couch. I call it The Harem Couch ✨.

As for the other two options on the poll: An alternative story was that vic was supposed to give something to A, and the other is Kinky stuff.

They'd be a tech guy in a world full of superheroes if they hadn't gone and electrocuted themself to death in the process of trying to make their science project: a fully autonomous ai to work in the family business so they don't have to. Don't worry, they got better...even if their insides got turned into toxic sludge in the process. Their relationship with their robotic creation is a lot better than their literary counterpart's, too - they don't have time to deal with a revenge plot when they've got murder mysteries to help their friends solve. Vic's a bit of a jerk as 17-year-olds are often wont to be, but surprisingly good-natured considering the universe seems to never let them out of second place. Life's rough for a teenage supergenius when you're not even the most super of supergeniuses.

Vic Sage (The Question)

From: The Question (2005) Context: Vic's been running around Metropolis for three-and-a-half issues, communing with the city and beating up criminals, when Superman shows up and starts lecturing him.

He confirms to Superman that the comic's unusual art style is because he is constantly high off his ass.

Look, there are worse takes on him that I could not possibly explain concisely. This though? #10 of the 1987 run establishes that he *hates* being high and his single intentional experiment with hallucinogens in college ended with him punching his dealer, and it's a recurring thing in that run that he gets drugged and has an incredibly bad time about it. The excuse of drawing from his older iteration doesn't work here either, unlike in some other bad takes on him, because that version was a transparent soapbox for Steve Ditko's political opinions and Ditko has been described as the "least likely person to use drugs on the island of Manhattan". This is, like, the ONE THING that the pre-crisis and post-crisis versions would agree on!

Blatantly Partisan Party Review XV (Victoria 2022): Sustainable Australia Party—Stop Overdevelopment/Corruption

Prior reviews: federal 2013, federal 2016, VIC 2018, NSW 2019, federal 2019, federal 2022

What I said before: “I have a very hard time finding their ‘we need a smaller population’ talk to be anything but eugenicist and racist. I have an even harder time accepting their absolute claptrap that Australia’s sprawling, low-density cities are overdeveloped.” (federal 2022)

What I think this time: It’s always a bad sign when a party tries to shoehorn a slogan into their registered name. Amazingly, this isn’t even the worst sin Sustainable Australia (SusAus) has committed against party names: they once had a hashtag at the start of their name.

This party has a habit of scooping up some votes from people who see the name and think “oh 'sustainable' sounds good!” They gain the rest from anti-immigration NIMBYs, at least some of whom think that their weird phobia of apartments is environmentalist praxis. SusAus have realised that people on the left are increasingly calling them out, so they try to claim they are pro-immigration and that they are jUsT aSkiNg QuEsTiOnS about migrant numbers. It’s rather easy to pick holes in their rhetoric and expose it for what it is: racist bullshit that won’t make Australia any more sustainable.

SusAus can’t even be bothered providing an actual policy platform for Victoria. Their page for the 2022 election just links to their generic policy platform, as if a suite of national policy priorities is in any way suitable. Each state has its own pressing issues, and state and federal governments have different powers. If you’re a serious party, you’ll provide a proper platform for each election you contest. SusAus are not a serious party.

So, their policies are just the same shit that I’ve reviewed before. Sometimes I’m even on the same page! Clifford Hayes, their member in the Legislative Councillor, voted to support trans people self-identifying their gender on documents without having had surgery. They really aren't all bad. But, especially on policies regarding the environment, heritage, housing, and migration, SusAus have deeply unpalatable motives that are at best conservative and often racist. Moreover, some of their objectives would prolong environmentally destructive car-dependent suburban sprawl rather than do anything positive for sustainability.

(I keep waiting for them to add a policy of removing “we’ve boundless plains to share” from the second verse of the national anthem…)

Oh yeah, and of course SusAus are one of the parties to have profited from the anti-democratic system of Group Ticket Voting. At the last election, Hayes got into the Legislative Council off 1.32% of the vote in Southern Metropolitan. This was one of the most egregious distortions of the GTV system: the Greens polled 13.46% but did not reach the threshold of 16.7% for a seat because GTVs harvested almost all relevant above-the-line preferences away from the Greens and towards SusAus in a manner that would literally never be replicated if above-the-line voters controlled their own preferences.

My recommendation: Give Sustainable Australia—Stop Stupid Party Names a weak or no preference. Remember to vote below the line on the large ballot for the Legislative Council so that your preference goes where you want it to go; all ballots with 5 or more preferences marked below the line are valid votes.

There is one issue of the Question I wanna talk about since it’s voting day today.

Where Vic’s ex with feelings Myra is running for mayor in his shitty home town, and it’s the first chance of putting someone non-corrupt in a position of power in Hub City, someone who might actually do some good. There is a very big lead up and plot revolving around Myra’s political campaign and how hard she is trying.

Well spoiler alert, she loses the election by one vote.

Guess which vigilante didn’t make it to the polls because he got too caught up fighting crime and literally stuck in a tornado-- That’s right Vic Sage everybody.
