Kota giggled in the direction of his phone. His fingers were moving over the screen quickly. Minutes ago, he had been getting ANNOYED because his flight was delayed by an hour. That was just his luck, travelling never went smoothly for him. Some days he easily laughed about it, on other days it caused him to sight heavily. Today was that kind of day because he had been looking forward to meet Kenny for dinner. Now he would be in town much later and lord knew whether any restaurant would still be open.
Calling Kenny though, had fixed his mood IMMEDIATELY. It was one thing that only Ken could do, change his whole attitude within seconds. That soft voice, that joyful laughter - right away the mood would change.
[ sms ]  →   I’m at the airport and there’s a guy wearing all camoflash to go hunting .. Should I bump in to him and say woahh sorry didn’t see you there?
Kota dared another look over the edge of his phone to see whether the man was still in sight. He was. He waited in front of the bathroom with several bags next to him. Probably, he was waiting for someone to return from the bathroom.

Return To The Marketplace
“At five o'clock that evening he was in town again and saw some more people standing around. He asked them, 'Why haven't you been working today?' "They replied, 'Because no one hired us.' "The owner of the estate told them, 'Then go on out and join the others in my vineyard.” Matt 20:6-7NLT
There’s a wall plaque saying, “It may be too late in the day to start over, but it’s never to late to start.” When I read our text, I thought immediately of the plaque. Even though the hour was almost quitting time, the Master sent them to work. Verse9 “When those hired at five o'clock were paid, each received a full day's wage.” Jesus said this parable was a representation of the Kingdom of Heaven. Everyone’s wages would be the same, no inequality, no competition, no backstabbing, no climbing over someone else, nor unfairness.
Problem is— many Christians have given up. They think, ‘I’m too old, never useful.’ ‘Overlooked.’ ‘Without anything special to offer to King Jesus.’ ‘With all of my battle wounds, for all the times I’ve lost, what good am I to Jesus?’
Backslidden, thinking they’re too wicked— Jesus is wooing their hearts back to Him. His call, placed on lives during childhood, are having the breathe of life breathed into them.
Some Christians have served faithfully in the shadow of others. Serving Christ through menial details of well-known servants of Christ. Thinking they were forever hidden.
For all of you older, hidden, or overlooked servants— Hear the Word of the Lord for you! “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings… you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts,” Malachi 4:2-3ESV.
God promise to the Israelites and us; “I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, …I will put My words in his mouth, …he shall speak to them all that I command him.” The prophetic word interests me. Does it match the Scriptures? Is Holy Spirit bearing witness to others? Has what’s spoken been confirmed in my spirit? Many prophets are saying, ‘God is bringing back those He’s been training in hidden places.’ Is that you?
Prophetess Faith Marie Baczko wrote recently: “It would be wise to now ask the Holy Spirit to rate the condition of our hearts and corporate houses to show us the true condition and the quality of our relationships and fellowship. Ask Him to give us strategies for breaking down areas of offense and cold hearts. The river of love that was initiated at Pentecost will be completed at Tabernacles, timed with the arising army of the headstone generation – a people who have ascended to the place of union with the Bridegroom – married to Him in mind and heart, willing to lay down their lives in love for the cause of Christ. A new mature man in whom pride has suffered a great blow, the jealousy of Cain is annihilated; competition, comparison and criticism are exchanged with love, friendship, family, and the preferring of one another. Where the agape love of God is unblocked and judgment swept away by the River, and the love of God flows freely, breaking forth from hearts broken by the love of Christ.”
Friend, return to the marketplace, (see Mt 20:3)!The Master is looking for His bride, those willing to love unconditionally. You can’t start your day all over. Know it’s not too late for you to start. God didn’t put me to work, until I was a senior citizen. There’s an option to go totally negative, do nothing, and miss everything. What will it be? It’s your choice. You choose.
PRAYER: Lord of Heaven’s armies, reporting for duty Sir. I’m waiting for those you’re bringing to join me. Draw their hearts Father, in Jesus’ name I pray.

Topic: Abiding in Christ
By. Sister. Savita Manwani
💥
Praise the Lord! It’s time to listen to the word of God. Stay tuned and be blessed!
Let us Pray: Heavenly Father we come to you in the precious name of Jesus Christ and we thank you for this time and opportunity you gave us to hear your word. Holy Spirit, you be our teacher and guide us into all the truth of the knowledge of your word. In Jesus Name I pray….Amen
TOPIC: ABIDING IN CHRIST
Scripture Text: John 15: 1-11
The Grapevine is a prolific plant, a single vine supports many numerous branches and bears many grapes.
In the Old Testament, grapes symbolized Israel’s fruitfulness in doing God’s work on the earth (Psalm 80:8; Isaiah 5:1-7; Ezekiel 19:10-14). In the Passover meal, the fruit of the vine symbolized God’s goodness to his people.
John 15:1 – Jesus teaches about the vine and the branches. The verse tells us that Christ is the vine and God is the Vinedresser, who cares for the branches to make them fruitful. The branches are all those who claim to be the followers of Christ. The true believers live in union with Christ and produces much fruit and those that don’t are unproductive followers – they are those who have turned back or who made a superficial commitment. They will be separated from the vine. These unfruitful ones will be cut off and tossed aside.
Now, there are 2 kinds of branches – Fruitful branches and fruitless branches. Similarly, there are two kinds of believers – Fruitful and Fruitless. The difference between them is whether they produce fruit or not.
Verse 2 &3: Jesus makes a distinction between 2 kinds of Pruning: (1) Cutting Off (2) Cutting Back. Fruitful branches are cut back to promote growth. Cutting back removes the dirt, cobwebs, dried up leaves, fungus from the plant. In other words, God sometimes disciplines us to strengthen our character and faith. Sorrow, disappointment, failure, a sense of weakness left us shocked, hurt and rejected. All these are removed by God to produce more fruit in us.
But branches that don’t bear fruit are cut off because they are worthless and they often infect the rest of the tree. The first work of the Vinedresser is to totally remove the fruitless branches. People don’t bear fruit for God are those that block the efforts of God’s followers and Jesus says that they should be cut off from His life giving power. Within the congregation of the faithful, there will be men and women who will never become fruitful and God cuts them off.
Verse 4: Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
Fruit means Christ likeness. His character produced in us. His image produced in us.
To Abide in Me means to remain in me – follow me and let me abide in you. Abide in Me also means stay with me, keep close to me, follow me, do as I say, obey My commands, search the scriptures, allow the spirit to transform your life. To be fruitful, Christ like Christian we need both the things – to abide in Him and allow Him to abide in us. One without the other results in fruitlessness.
Verse 5: “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
One who abides in Me bears much fruit – Fruit is not only soul winning, it is answered prayer, joy, love are also mentioned as fruit (all mentioned in the same chapter itself John15:7, 11, 12).
Gal 5:22-24; 2 Peter 1:5-8 describe additional fruits, qualities of Christian character.
Without Him we can do nothing says the word. Without our dependence on him we will not become Christ-like.
Verse5-6: Abiding in Christ means: 1) believing that He is God’s Son ( 1 John 4:15)
2) recieving him as Savior and Lord (John 1:12)
3) doing what God says (1 John 3:24)
4) continuing to believe the gospel (1 John 2:24), and
5) relating in love to the community of believers, Christ’s body (John 15:12)
Many people try to be good, honest people who do what is right. But Jesus says that the only way to live a truly good life is to stay close to him; like a branch attached to the Vine. Apart from Christ our efforts are unfruitful. Are you receiving the nourishment and life offered by Christ, the Vine? If not, You are missing a special gift he has for you.
Verse 7: If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[b] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
Whatever you ask, you shall receive…., it is a promise; a blessing. It is impossible to pray correctly apart from knowing and believing the teachings of Christ.
Verse 8: By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
When a Vine produces much fruit, God is glorified, for daily he sends the sunshine and rain to make the crops grow and constantly he nurtures each tiny plant and prepares it to blossom. This farming analogy shows how God is glorified when people come into a right relationship with him and begin to “bear much fruit” in their lives.
Verse9 &10: “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
God loves you. You are worthwhile. You are dear and precious to Him. His whole work with you is to help you discover all that he has made you to be. Again here the importance of obedience is given and again the example of Christ is given. Jesus stresses the importance of His followers being obedient and He sets the example for it.
Verse 11: “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
When things are going well, we feel elated. When hardships come, we sink into depression. But true joy transcends the rolling waves of circumstance. Joy comes from a consistent relationship with Christ. When our lives are inter-twined with his, He will help us walk through adversity without sinking into debilitating lows and mange prosperity without moving into deceptive highs. The joy of living with Jesus Christ daily will keep us level headed, no matter how high or low our circumstances.
The Psalmist says in Psalm 30:5, Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.
James 1:2 says; Count it all joy when you fall into various trials.
Joy is the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The word “JOY” is used 70 times in the New Testament and always to signify the deep down sense of well-being and blessedness that abides in the heart of the person who knows all is well between himself and the Lord. Joy is not an expression that comes from favorable circumstances or a human emotion that makes feel “Happy” or “Good”. It is one of God’s gift to believers.
As Nehemiah declared in Neh.8:10 …..for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Christian joy is different from worldly joy such as experienced by someone winning the lottery or passing an exam; it is the result of knowing Christ as Savior and experiencing daily in good times and bad, God’s continuing presence and grace.
Joy not only does come from favorable circumstances or events but it is sometimes experienced greatest when those circumstances are the most painful and severe and downright nasty.
Heb 12:2 says Jesus, who for joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame. His heart was filled with joy as he faced the cross because he would be the instrument of redemption for the entire world. In other words, his joy was the joy of being used of God.
Joy is the inner quality that reflects our Christian relationship to God. This is the inheritance of the believer – love, joy and peace. “Peace I leave with you, my joy may be in you. As we go through the various experiences God brings into our lives, this is the fruit that he produces. What a wonderful fruit it is. May it be abundant in our hearts these days.
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, Abide in the Lord in order to be fruitful. Whatever your situation, remember God is with you and will help you to overcome in Jesus’ Name. Jesus wants us to have full joy therefore, love him, obey him and you abide in Him and He in you. Let Christ dwell in you because ultimately joy comes from Christ dwelling in us. May God’s joy remain in you and that your joy may be full now and forevermore…
Let me end here.. Hope you were blessed with the word.
Let us Pray: Heavenly Father, we thank you for your Son, Jesus, that He is the Vine and we are the branches. I ask you to abide in us and always be with us so that we may produce much fruit, out of the abundance of your grace. We know that without You we can do nothing, but we also know that as we rest in you we can bring forth fruit that is pleasing to the Father. In Jesus name I pray…..Amen.

Thought for the day: 28th April
Psalm Reflection
The past few weeks I have really enjoyed reading and reflecting on a random Psalm each day. Within these scriptures, there is such a range of expression, emotions, praise and just laying everything before God – it encourages and challenges me!
I love that God has included in His word times where His people are full of joy, and times where His people are struggling. Where people are expressing just enjoying His presence, and where there are questions of ‘where are You God?’. And yet, again and again in the Psalms, where there is struggle and pain, there is also God’s truth proclaimed in the midst of that. I don’t know, but I’d guess sometimes when the author is writing it, it may not be ‘truth that they feel’, but truth that they acknowledge none the less. There is praise proclaimed for who God is. It’s so incredible that God loves and desires to hear the raw, vulnerable, honest expression of our hearts and meet us in that place.
A few examples from Psalm 31
Praise – You are my Rock and Fortress (verse3)
Truth – You care about the anguish of my soul (verse7)
Emotion – Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am in distress. Tears blur my eyes (verse9)
Specific situation – My enemies conspire against me (verse13)
Situation truth – My future is in Your hands (verse15)
Praise – Praise the Lord, for He has shown me the wonders of His unfailing love (verse21)
There is a psalm layout that a friend shared with me that I have been using to take some time with God to write a psalm. It’s been helpful for me to be able to be real with God, but also have some simple structure as I pour out what’s inside- sometimes waffly, sometimes stripped back. Below is the format of that, and a simple example if anyone would find it helpful to write a Psalm with the Lord today.
1.       I praise You…
2.       because…
3.       You are my …
4.       Repeat line 1
5.       My biggest worry is…
6.       But Your word says…
7.       Repeat line 3
8.       Repeat line 1
9.       The Lord says to me…
10.   How does that make you feel?
11.   Repeat line 3
12.   I repent of…
13.   Repeat line 1
14.   I am Your…
15.   Repeat line 1
16.   Repeat line 2
17.   Repeat line 3
 Example…
1. I praise You for being my Father
2.  because You are good to me
3. You are my Rock and Fortress
4. I praise You for being my Father
5. My biggest worry is for my family and friends
6. But Your word says that You watch over them
7. You are my Rock and Fortress
8. I praise You for being my Father
9. The Lord says to me ‘I hold you close’
10. I feel grateful for Your truth
11. You are my Rock and Fortress
12. I repent of not fixing my eyes on You
13. I praise You for being my Father
14. I am Your loved child
15. I praise You for being my Father
16. because You are good to me
17. You are my Rock and Fortress
He is good… all the time!

Refused To Love
“For God is love.” 1John 4:8KJV
Philipp asked Jesus— John 14:8KJV “Show us the Father.” Verse9 carries Jesus’ answer, “…Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?” We can safely imagine God doing only the same things which Jesus did, see John 5:17, 19. Realize, what upset Jesus equally upsets His Father.
None can find anything anywhere in the scriptures saying Jesus put down Zacchaeus— the blind man— the woman with the issue of blood— the centurion. How about Matthew or Judas, who betrayed Him? Definitely not the man with the deformed hand. Jesus only had issues with the Pharisees.
Why, then, did Jesus get upset with the Pharisees? For one, they were prideful. Worse yet, they were judgmental and refused to love. Matthew 13:9-14 Pharisees plotted to put Jesus in jail for healing a man’s hand. Again, Luke 13:14-17, Pharisees were angry because Jesus loosed a woman, whom satan bound with deformity.— Matthew 23:4NLT “They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.” Sound anything like the government of today? Probably cut from the same demonic cloth.
God asked questions which left me reeling: *Do you find Jesus faulting anyone besides the Pharisees? *How about Jesus telling anyone, ‘you’ve not done good enough for Me?’ *Gossiping behind someone’s back? *Refusing to hear prayers, because of our imperfections? *Using scripture to headbash non-believers for the error of their ways? *Imagine Jesus refusing to love us, until we got our lives together. Never!
There’s absolutely no scriptural basis for these previous statement-questions. Still it’s not hard for us to imagine ourselves thinking, we’ve failed God terribly. He couldn’t possibly love us after our horrible last failed place. These imaginations aren’t scriptural either. “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8KJV While we cursed God for failing us, He still died to pay our sins, whether we accept His redemption or not.
Jesus said, “If anyone hears My words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world, There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not accept My words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.” John 12:47-48NIV.
Satan often uses people, particularly parents, to be Pharisees to their children. He pushes the children away from God with the judgments or lack of instructions from their parents.
The example of parenting, which Jesus gave to us is that of the Prodigal Son’s father. Understand, the father is a picture of God’s treatment to us. Then see, it’s the picture of how God wants for us to act with our children. Luke 15:11-31 shows how the father knew his son had been caught up in sin. He didn’t berate his son. Revealing God, He celebrated His return as a loving Dad.
Opposition came, as it always does, in the Prodigal’s story from the ‘good son.’  Questions come— After how they did everything wrong, how can you unconditionally love them like that? Isn’t this circling back to the Pharisee’s attitude, unloving and judgmental?
God is love. He loves everyone. “…we are God's children. What we will be isn't completely clear yet. We do know that when Christ appears we will be like Him because we will see Him as He is,” 1John 3:2GWT. We’ve been given the responsibility to love, too, especially our children.
Can we act and be unconditional in loving as others need? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: Papa God, we surely didn’t learn how to live out unconditional love from our parents. Will You help us to drop the Pharisee’s attitude and simply love, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
