Maybe I don't have the right tipe of audience to find this. But honestly I miss this comic so I got at least try and see if someone knows the name of this insue
Anyways. Does someone knows the name of a Mickey Mouse comic series were they were in a cosmic racing competition? Like it was a free for all, everyone was ,mostly, reluctant enemies, they were competiting for the sake of their earth? I think.
Each race they were in a crazier world, there was this building tension where the once friends were now being put against each other. There is a time Mickey and Pete got to team up and it was the peak of Mickey's conscience or something were he had to chose letting his friends die(? Track razards and their veicles could fall to their "doom") or win the race
I think Donald and goofy "die" and were essentials to find out the antagonist true face?
It had really good art(that I remeber of and i read this when i was 13 or something)
I had like 2 issues of this story but my mom kinda gave them(and all the rest of my gibis) to an old neighbor with many kids, now I got nostalgic and wanna read them in order but... I have no idea WHAT the name of this series of insues is? Help?

I have a funny relationship with the death of cars.
I love cars, they bring me a lot of joy as an enthusiast, modifying cars is like art in motion, its visual, interactive, sonic, social and steeped in history. One of the most compeling parts of this is the internal combustion engine. It's such a fundamentaly flawed device that interacting with an engine, especially something that's carburetted feels like interacting with some sort of animal. You have to train and coax and be patient with it to achieve results. They produce complex noises and have infinitely variable character. Then you place a body around it and generate this experience, be that the whaft of a 60s or 70s luxury barge with a slow lopey v8 or a high reving lightweight sports car, tuned so perfectly that you can make the chassis dance with your finger tips. All these experiences are so complex and so evocative of a period and place in time built upon layers of development and executive decisions and the passions of driven individuals and compromise. It's a beautiful experience.
You have to understand as well that these vehicles are avatars, people bought particular cars because they wanted the world to see them a cirtain way, because they saw themselves a cirtain way and because they wanted a particular experience. This individuality is accentuated in the aftermarket where an individuals veichle becomes truely one of a kind as they coax and modify a corporately compromised product into a perfect representation of their ideal experience. A piece of art. A peice of the self. Something alive. Something beautiful. A simple transportation device.
Cars are dying. Cars should die. Individual automation isn't and never has been the right solution to transportation. Im not going to give an exaustive list of reasons why i think cars are something we should leave in the past. Many others have said it better than i ever could, and you probably already have an opinion on this issue that im not going to change. But the fact of the matter is, cars are dying, or at least the most compeling part of the automobile is facing iminent extinction.
The internal combustion engine is on deaths door. Without that, to me, a car is just an apliance, you can love your fridge because its a good fridge, but you cannot love a fridge for the emotion it inspires in you heart, or the way that interacting with it is like having a heated conversation. No, a fridge is a fridge. The best it can do is function well, and mabie has a few cool unnecessary features that sell you on that model in the store, but you never use. An electric car is a fridge. A very fast fridge, but that's only compeling for so long. So I'd rather take the train.
This leads to something interesting though, this whole time, iv been lamenting the iminent demise of cars and of the internal combustion engine, but there's a glaring hole in this argument. Everything iv said of the joys of internal combustion no longer apply to almost the entirity of the curent car market. Theres a few exceptions, but they're entirely compromised by the over complexity of their technology that constantly threatens to ruin the experience.
The most popular style of veichle in the western world is white and grey suvs, big, functional boxes. The fridges are already here, and every suburbanite has one. No longer are veicles an avatar. They are an apliance that moves you from one location to another.
The rube goldburg machine of an ever more complicated panthion of technology required to make these cars function in the modern world completely isolates you from any joy that could be had from interacting with such an interesting machine.
The truth is that the car as a device of joy has been dead for a long time. It's a perfected product with streamlined functions.
so if every gas huffing car enthusiast screaming about how shitty electric cars are could shut the fuck up for a minuite, and actually look at the landscape of modern cars, they would realise that theyre fighting to preserve something thats already dead.
All cars are shitty, not just electric ones. Everything on the market is a cost cut pile of shit designed to make money. Capitolism, product streamlining, homogonisation and wealth inequality killed the internal combustion engine, not electric cars. So just take the fuckin train.
And on the weekend, im going to take the car cover of my old piece of shit falcon. It's got a small block v8 that I built myself, a carburettor that stinks, iv painted it lime green with 70s decals, and iv hand embroided the seats. It's the living embodyment of my personality that I spent countless hours building. Im going to take it out on the road and enjoy the fuck out of evey litre of gas i use, which is plentiful and cheap because suburbanites arnt using it all to take their kids to soccer practice, and the roads are empty becuase everyone finaly figured out how to take the train. I know it's not a realistic dream, but i can still hope.

Why Raft game is just Subnautica from another dimension
(And why I love both games. Contains spoilers for Subnautica, Subnautica Below Zero and Raft)
Both games are survivals, set in a sea enviroment. Pretty obvious.
Titanium is frustratingly easy to find in Subnautica. Titanium is frustratingly difficult to find in Raft.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Snow veicles that possess a not very intuitive and pleasant driving experiences. Bonus points for angry and fluffy snow predators.
Tumblr media
These two evil thingies. Just. Leave. Me alone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Greedy corporations are fuelling the conflict. Also mean, self-entitled micromanagers that no player is fond of.
Tumblr media
Bart Torgal and Detto being cinnamom rolls who are enthusiastic and passionate about a specific field of science, in spite of people being dismissive about it.
Badass gray-haired ladies. Yes, I know Elaine used to be one privileged business woman on Tangaroa, but, come on, I will not be persuaded that a badass girl boss like her would not become bff (or gf maybe 👀) with Marguerite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally. The player has to face (alone?) harsh environments, struggling to find supplies and to fight back aggressive animals.
So to compensate for the stress both games make sure to provide the whole "decorate your survivalist nest with plants and trinkets to make it cozy".

Thanks for reaching the end of the post, have an emotional support pet of your choice:

Flying submersible (TR3, PS1)
Hi! I really enjoy watching your youtube channel (especially all the Core dev and voice actor stuff). I'm not active in any youtube or Twitter community, tho I looked for your Discord, but it seems to be gone. So, I'll type here. Just wanted to ask if you know the "flying submersible vehicle-glitch" in one of the Tomb Raider 3 London-levels on Playstation? :) I don't know if it works on PC. Me and my friends discovered it as kids. When Lara is grabbing on to the submersible; quicky press the button to get off (square, I think). Then immediately press the drive or "climb on" button (can't remember which button that was now). I think the software now interpret Lara as both on and off the veicle, at the same time. The submersible is now totally silent, and you can "fly" out of the water and explore freely.
Best wishes! Henning (Norway).

~DUSKWOOD~
Hold My Hand - part 3
Alan walked around the car to go to MC's side. He opened the door and held out his hand to the girl inviting her to accept his help to get out of the vehicle. She didn't imagine that the sight of that place would have bring on the surface so many conflicting emotions. She felt the sadness surround her as the memories took her breath away. And she wasn't good at managing her emotions.
A: "Okay, i know that's not what you were hoping to see on your first day in Duskwood but-"
Alan leaned in, seeing tears wet MC's face as she kept her eyes fixed on that house. He crouched to get closer to her and the realization hit him. He had spent enough time in the police to know when a person was facing trauma.
A: "...shit. You know this place."
But she said nothing, just wiping her eyes and sniffling.
A: "I needed a safe place and a friend offered me his help...I didn't know this place had any emotional value for you..."
The man reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a handkerchief. He handed it to MC and she took it wiping her eyes.
MC: "It's nothing, I'm okay. It's just that..."
Before she could finish speaking, the door of the house swung open and a light-skinned girl with a well-known red hair ran out and suddenly stopped after seeing the car. Incredulous MC got out of the veicle, pushing the policeman away badly. She took a few steps and then stopped again in front of the car.
MC: "...Jessy?"
They kept texting, but MC never went to see them. Not after all that had happened. She had promised she would go to Duskwood to finally meet everyone, but in the end she hadn't found the strength to keep that promise. Jessy had told her several times that it wasn't a problem, that she would wait for her forever. And now she was finally there. They were now facing each other, a few meters apart.
MC began to walk towards her friend, who instead crossed her arms and snorted. MC didn't understand. She thought that after so long Jessy would be happy to finally meet her. Instead she seemed almost annoyed. That wasn't the reunion MC imagined all this time. Before she could walk to her, to know what was wrong, Alan grabbed her arm stopping her.
A: "Okay, listen, I may have told your friends a 'tiny little' lie. And, well..."
MC guessed what the man wanted to tell her and closed her eyes for a moment in disbelief.
MC: "Please don't tell me they didn't know i was coming here..."
A: "...okay, then I won't tell you..."
She snorted in exasperation raising her arms and making them fall to the sides of her body.
MC: "Seriously!?"
A: "In my defense I needed a fresh mind since we end up in a dead end with the investigation. ALSO I can't involve the police for...reasons..."
MC: "So instead of asking them their opinion you just told me to come here?"
Meanwhile Jessy was joining them with a brisk step and a very angry expression.
A: "I know the action mode wasn't great, but we needed you. You have intuition for certain things and you have proved it with Miss Donfort."
MC: "And now we'll have to survive to Jessy's anger. Yeah, no, great plan really!"
Alan tried to argue but was interrupted by Jessy.
J: "YOU STUPID GIRAFFE!"
A: "I can explain...oh come on, you too? I'm not so tall!"
MC: "Told you..."
J: "What the hell were you thinking! Texting MC? Make her come here without telling us anything? I'm so angry right now!"
A: "You're yelling...why are you yelling?"
J: "Ohhh! You,i swear!"
Jessy's tone of voice grew higher and higher, until the roar of a car engine stopped her. A black pickup pulled up beside Alan's car and after a few seconds the driver's door swung open.
D: "I left you alone for a couple of hours and find you arguing. Man, without me you are lost."
MC smiled at him immediately, seeing him walk with his amused grin and his arms outstretched towards her.
MC: "My God,Dan!"
D: "No Mister Jack Daniels anymore? I should be worried you know?"
J: "Stop joking Dan. Look what Alan did!"
Dan ignored her by going straight to MC and holding her in a bone-breaking hug.
D: "You make us wait too much MC."
MC: "Yeah...i didn't know you were a hug-guy."
D: "That's cause i'm a man of mistery."
After almost crushing her he walked away and shook Alan's hand as he greeted him.
D: "Hey Al."
A: "Dan."
J: "Nothing? You're not going to yell at him? Not even a bit?"
Alan looked apologetically at Jessy as he squeezed the man's hand.
D: "Ignore her, man. She's only angry because she wanted to do a big old style party for MC, but she's happy that she's finally here. Besides this was the right decision."
J: "Hey, hold on a second!"
MC laughed to see Jessy pinch Dan's arm with her fingers.
MC: "He knew?"
She whispered at Alan suspecting that the policeman hadn't told only a single harmless lie.
J: "YOU KNEW?"
The two men looked at each other for a few moments trying to find the best answer. Finally Alan nodded and Jessy threw her arms up in the air, snorting.
J: "You. Are. UMBELIEVABLE!"
D: "Okay, babe, you can be angry as long as you want. But we will talk inside so you'll understand. I have something to show you all."
A: "Don't tell me you managed to find what we were looking for..."
D: "I may not be Hackerman, but I've worked in private security and I know people."
J: "Did you find his location?"
D: "Not exactly...i have pictures though. But before i show you everything, you'll have to sit down."
