Watercolor sketching. "Inked" with a 6B pencil. I applied a fixative over the colored drawing and then I applied the blue shadows and yellow highlights with color pencils after. About 25km due west of #Uluru in #UluruKataTjutaNationalPark are #TheOlgas. They’re a range of conglomerate domes, made out of varying rock types. 1) I did the #ValleyOfTheWinds walk, 2a) as well as the short #WalpaGorge walk, which I hoofed through before temperatures reached way beyond 38 degrees; this was all after 2b) watching the sunrise upon the Olgas. Tours here can be expensive and constricting, so I splurged and rented a car (with insurance and roadside assistance, so it was quite the extravagance). I love the freedom of making plans according to my schedule. I’ve only driven in Australia once last year, but I feel more comfortable in rural areas without the pressures of the city.
