astarion does think he can have his moments, where he gets what he likes to call good ideas, and after standing there in the entrance to one of shar's trials he found himself bored, and desperate. he had an orthon to kill. and there was an orthon, breathing and walking around still. that didn't get him any closer to knowing more about his scars, about what cazador had planned...he trusted his experience enough that whatever it was it was foul, whatever astarion could come up with in his head he expected it to be ten times worse. so, he absolutely thought that as much as it was entertaining to see shadowheart run around trying to fulfill shar's requests he could not take his mind off the damn thing.
so, do not blame him when he gently suggested to symon that they could potentially go and stake out the next trial. maybe it would give shadowheart some sort of advantage but most importantly it would put him one step closer to getting done what needed to be done. and then, symon had done the unexpected and actually follow astarion into the next imposing room. finally someone who listens to good sense and even greater instincts.
they are making up their way to the room, ceremonial statue and knife in the proper spot with another door behind them. astarion, gesturing over to the plate, an expecting look on his face. "well..." he started, displeased with the thought of having to do anything for a god. "...get on with it, then." he assumed, for the most part that symon would potentially take one for the team. "i'm guessing a little cut would be sufficient." it was kinda sad, seeing blood be wasted so terribly.

As you may have heard already, the sfx and voice effects for P were done by a native Korean voice actor and not Joe Pitts like I previously believed. He is credited as Seok Seunghoon under Development Support in the game's end credits and also provided sfx for The Parade Master, Magician puppet, and additional enemies.
His statement on instagram here:
He also streamed LOP so he could hear his own work in the actual game!!! part one here:
They shared some really interesting notes in their instagram post! Instagram has a built-in translator, but it's a little confusing. I'm thinking of adding the translation in a separate post later.
His online portfolio is up here and he also provided the korean dubbed voice for the antagonist Jack Horner in the recent Dreamworks animation Puss and Boots 2 [I think he's signed with KBS]. Really cool hearing him both sounding very closely to John Mulaney, dubbing in another language, and performing the role!
But I think this one from the demo reel is probably my favourite. lol
I really hope he can stay with the franchise in some capacity. I enjoy that kind of casting continuity.
[By "native" I mean that the game's english voice work, dialogue editorial, and casting were outsourced to Liquid Violet Studios in the UK, and it seems like Seok Seunghoon was a domestic hire and worked directly with NEOWIZ.]

I Need to get this off my chest before I can continue this fucking chapter
Single-Dad-vibes Halsin is substantially more attractive than Initial-camp-buddy Halsin
And please understand that’s saying a lot bc Initial-camp-buddy Halsin is already breaking the meter, here

my thing with emma stone winning is like…..her performance in poor things was good—she’s a good actress. but it did not compare to gladstone’s. it’s not like emma stone is this aged actress whose never gotten an oscar before and the academy felt the need to give her her flowers finally after years of hard work despite not out acting her peers….rather she’s a young actress whose already won an oscar previously. and she will likely be nominated and win more in her future too.
more than that, roles for emma stone are always and will always be around. and this one in particular was not insanely groundbreaking.
roles like the one lily gladstone played in killers of the flower moon are (unfortunately) far more rare in hollywood and especially by such an esteemed director and to be acknowledged at this level. it’s just a shame she didn’t win. it was so much more poignant and astounding of a performance than emma stone’s.

❛ i had it under control. you didn’t need to do that. ❜ (julian for astarion)
a giddy little chuckle raises from astarion's throat, after a rather excellent shot someone would've said, he made his way closer to where julian was, a room full of dead people. how delightful. "-no, dear, i do not think nearly getting slashed into tiny bits falls under the category of you being in control. i'd hate to see you spill your pretty blood out and waste it." astarion is gleaming under it all. he would rather die again than admit that he really did not want to see julian get hurt, not if he could help it. and the sensation was odd and unwelcomed. he did not like it, not one bit. but he hid it under the boost this gave his ego. he's just waiting to see what loot they could've gather up from this.

Especially to me if it starts with Kaeya making some vague interpretable comment to Albedo (similar to the "lots of people like albedo - why, you into him as well?" one he makes to us probably) so he can closely watch the reaction, thinking he's so clever and slick and not suspected of anything, but Albedo (probably Aware that Kaeya likes him because that's also entertaining) matches it smoothly-directly-genuinely and Kaeya uhh !! well he's good at recovering smoothly, but Albedo can keep it up and he isn't sure what to do with this at all.

"You're right. You should have." Customarily brusque. Her palms alight, and as he gets himself properly upright she presses her burning hands to his chest. The flame hurts, like it tends to, but fills him with the energy to live as well. She'd explained the first time. Suffer the burn of failure, receive the vitality to avoid a second appearance of it.
His wounds tended, for now, she steps away, examining the blade of the Tooth. She looks... pleased. Deeply satisfied. The blood of devils catches the light, and Rakatak shows it her teeth. "The last time this weapon tasted an infernal was long before I wielded it. I hope it has retained its enjoyment of biting through other places' soldiers." Briefly, it seems she might not have caught Ashen's reaction to the appearance of the cambion, but... no such luck. After carefully wiping the blade's face clean and flicking a finger against it, she looks back at him.
"...if being flat-footed when against devils is going to present a lasting challenge, it would do well for you to tell me now. I adapted this time, but I prefer to be ready more than quick."
