speaking of my last reblog, as a freak, i'm impressed with the freaks filming katla(2021) for, as far as i can tell, actually filming everything in and around vík. i feel like these cinematic decisions were made specifically for gremlins like me who can identify random rocks by their exact gps coordinates

Vík után egy gyors megálló volt a Laufdkálavarða. a wc teteje kilátó, körbe lehet nézni a mohás lávamezőre. ilyen mezőből sok-sok kilométernyi következett. szép zöld! nagyon puhá ak látszik, hemperegném!
az eredeti terv az volt, h itt még beiktatjuk a Fjarðarárgljúfur szurdokot, de az eső nem hagyott békén, úgyhogy keresünk egy kempinget a szomszédos Kirkjubæjarklausturban, aztán ott táborverés után sétáltunk egyet a hegyen érintve a vízesést, a fenti tavat.

Very important PSA!
Our tour guide has informed us that "Viking" does NOT mean "pirate." A vík ("veek") is a narrow bay, like one of them little cracks you see in fjords. So "viking" means "people of the narrow bay."
Also apparently the image of vikings being huge, tall, formidable warriors comes from the fact vikings became fashionable to hire as the emperor of Constantinople's personal body guards, but only the most fiercest of them, which were more of the Eastern vikings as opposed to the Western ones.

okay so somewhere in between me cleaning files on my computer trying to get creative cloud to cooperate I reset a few things and lost all my downloaded assets and brushes on clip :")
