I am so blessed to have gotten to see this amazing band on their final tour. Words cannot express how their music has touched me over the years and to have had the opportunity to hear them live for the last time meant the world to me. A snippet from the beginning of "The Unwinding Cable Car." Goodness, the emotions really hit me during this song and I got teary-eyed. It's such a beautiful song anyway and it's always been one of my @anberlin favorites, but everyone in the front of the crowd singing along created this really cool atmosphere of love and support, and I know @stephenchristian felt it. For the last verse, after being met with enthusiastic cheers for holding the note at "...up and out of the daaark," he told us, "That was beautiful," then simply said, "It's your song now," and turned the microphone stand to face the crowd as he stood back. Without missing a beat, we all picked up where he left off and sang the last verse. Stephen looked genuinely humbled and @rawrsarahbear tells me he was choking up just like the rest of us. :') It was such a beautiful, magical, and special moment that you just had to be there to understand. In telling us, "It's your song now," it felt like Stephen was saying, 'We won't be here much longer, so it's up to you to keep our spirit alive. These are your songs now. We're giving them to you. Please take good care of them.' I will, Stephen.
