Because- goddamnit I actually took time to do some self-care tonight and I feel absolutely right as rain, but Im complaining about it because doing maintenence on myself shouldnt fill my brain with serotonin.

Actually- I used to do self-care nights with my ex and it really made me happy to be doing something like that with someone I loved (I have a hard time doing it alone so like- yea- baby steps)

So here's a proposition for a slow johnlock fic:

So Sherlock is doing his nightly routine with his hair and his face because he wants to look absolutely gorgeous at any given moment (as per usual) and John walks in wanting to brush his teeth.

"What's that?" He asks as Sherlock is spraying a foam into his palm.

"It's a mousse to keep my hair in perfect shape throughout the day," he runs his fingers through wet curls,"Also protects against heat damage and has frizz control." He gestures to the hair dryer and an attachment next to it,"That's the diffuser that I use to dry my hair afterwards to keep my curls... curly"

"Nifty, and what's that?" He points to a bottle that looks like it's next in line to be used.

"Face wash," He nods to it and then nudges a series of other bottles with a mousse-covered hand,"Spot treatment, toner, hydration mist, and moisturiser."

"You have a whole system in place, dont you?" John is genuinely intruiged by his routine, Sherlock cocks an eyebrow, washing his hands of the hair product.

"Care to join me? I have extra face-flannels," He extends one in earnest invitation,"Could be fun."

"Why the hell not?"

They do this together over a few weeks and they move on to face masks and other products and they make a whole night out of it sometimes with music and shows and stuff

Before long they're doing it for each other: John working the products into Sherlock's hair and doing the spot treatments and all that whatnot
