✂ If they had to choose one weapon to carry forever, what would it be?//Her baseball bat, of course! I actually never intended for Clarissa to wield a bat…but when her new uniform design wound up looking so much like a baseball player’s gear, I figured I might as well go for a home run and make it her weapon of choice. It suits her: it’s a stereotypical yankii weapon (the same Japanese subculture that also inspired her bleached hair, even if it’s grown out in the time between her blog switch-up). And a mid-range bludgeoning weapon compliments her personality and fighting style just as well as it does her personal aesthetic. Clarissa has always been powerful but lacking in the accuracy and finesse required to make proper use of a blade or fire-arm. She’s an old fashioned beat-em-up kinda gal—the bat isn’t without its own drawbacks, but its weight just feels right in her hands, her swing strong and true.
♒ If they could choose how to die, how would they want to go?//Answered here!!
✦ Who is their favorite villain?
//Probably one of the 90s style cartoon villains she watched on TV as a kid. I try not to namedrop other franchises in RP unless I’m just dicking around…the mention of real world shows, bands, or literature (though I’m a little more lenient when it comes to the classics) tends to knock my immersion. I’ll make a pass for other Nintendo games when Mario gets a couple of in-series references. …But despite her growing up in Japan, I JUST cannot unseen Clarissa growing up with Saturday morning TV like Looney Tunes, and villains such as Dick Dastardly, smh.
I don’t have enough knowledge of retro anime to know what equivalents might have existed for Japanese children around the era she would have been growing up, alas. But I know she would sneak up at night to watch horror movies and police soaps. Police/crime dramas were her fave. Most of all she enjoyed the villains who were given a significant role in the story…real characters with actual lives and motivations you got to learn about, as opposed to the nameless and faceless crooks that existed solely for the heroes to triumph against.
Even though she’s a horror movie fan, she greatly enjoys human antagonists over supernatural ones. Probably because she likes to project onto them, imagining herself as the bringer of the chaos, upending people’s worlds on a whim.
Added some of the missing elements from the movement system, such as particles and sound effects. Also showcasing the state of the hit system. Both are currently a WIP and will be refined.
Also, the partner now jumps with a bit of a delay to make it feel more alive!
The movement system has been touched up to handle slopes and stairs better. Also, new SFX have been made for all motions such as walking, running, crawling, jumping, and landing. The crouch / crawl system has also been made lower. You could shimmy under a table or a bed at this height rather than being limited to something like large vents.
(...and by the way, for those who dislike camera bobbing, the option to turn off all camera motion has already been implemented ;] )
@delyne-aftertale / @uglytheater liked for a starter!
"And the little white dove,
made with love, made with love,
made with glue, and a glove,
and some pliers...
Swings a low, sickle arc
from it's perch in the dark--
Settle down, settle down,
my desire~..."
The sound of footsteps had made her taper off in her melody, the lingering guitar chords resounding against the trees. A purple glow from within dimmed, and flickered, and faded, and she quickly rose to take a look around.
"Hello? Sorry-- sorry if I'm being too loud, out here. I, uh...I didn't think many people came out, this far." Her voice didn't travel as loudly as it had in song, though the snow did all it could to absorb most volume.
Though the timidness of her tone was partly because she wasn't sure quite yet if she was dealing with a human, or a monster.
