This early development artwork for “Tom and Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes,” went to live on, as part of the collage wallpaper at the office (along with many other fun projects).

Early development for the “Tom and Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes” movie. Before any writing began, we did some visual exploration for combining the Tom and Jerry characters, as well as the other MGM, Tex Avery characters, with the world of Sherlock Holmes, in Victorian England.

In memory of Tyke 💔
"In 1973, a baby elephant was kidnapped from the wild in Mozambique. She was taken to America where she was beaten, abused and forced to perform in a circus. Her captors named her Tyke.
Throughout her life Tyke always resisted her oppression, either by refusing orders, running off, or attacking her trainers.
On 20 August 1994, during a performance in Honolulu, Tyke fought back by attacking two of her trainers, killing one. After the attack, she stopped for a second figuring out what to do next. With great stress she made her decision and charged out of the ring into the streets of Hawaii, pushing circus goers out of the way. She rampaged through the streets charging into cars and attacking anyone who tried to capture or contain her.
The SWAT team chased her down. In broad daylight and in the middle of the street they opened fire, shooting her again and again. After taking many bullets she fell to the ground, and sat swinging her trunk back and forth trying to swat away the barrage of bullets.
She was shot 87 times before she finally died. Hundreds of people looked on shocked and distraught. Her body laid there in the road, with tears stained down her cheeks.
Tyke's resistance was a natural response to her oppression, and her death was a great injustice. But she did not die in vain. Her story went around the world and emboldened animal rights activists to organise in her memory to end the use of wild animals in circuses.
The memory of Tyke, and others like her, has continued to inspire activists to stand against this injustice. Since Tyke's death it is now illegal to use wild animals in the circus in 20 countries and over 300 cities."
