The intensity of Rebekah’s gaze is too much, and if Caroline didn’t know better, she’d almost believe Rebekah cared. She and Hope - whatever it is they have - are driven by the lust that sings in their blood and roars in their hearts, she decided. By greed. By base desires, want that pulls them ever closer despite Lizzie’s diligent resistance. Really, anything else is acceptable, because surely she can’t have feelings for the Original Tribrid, the woman who haunts her nightmares and terrorizes her friends and reels her in with a blink of those long eyelashes, gorgeous auburn hair that falls down to her waist in waves, and a sway of her ripped-jean clad hips. Surely she cannot have fallen for Hope Mikaelson, for the rare glimpses of kindness and mercy and humanity she sees in this monster.

Lizzie tells herself that none of it is true - it cannot possibly be. And if that doesn’t work, well - she can rest assured that only she is aware of the traitorous skip in her heart whenever Hope is near.
