Hahaha... US ruling regime and it's G7 lap dogs are now desperate. They lost the military conflict with Russia in Ukraine, lost the political and economic battle with Russia. Since February 2022, the Russian economy and overall trade has increased, and Russian energy exporters have achieved sky rocketing profits. So, all these western threats and sanctions were in vain, actually backfiring and badly punishing the whole west, by record inflation, fast rising interest rates, creating mainly badly paid jobs, and now resorting to taking cold showers, politically and in the bathrooms of the western world. The cost of living is threatening every single western government now, whilst the Russian government is more popular than ever. Wonder why...ts ts ts.. must be fate .. or, God.., or just plain poor intelligence.
So now.. fully desperate, instead of seeking World Peace on Equal terms, western governments are scraping the bottom of the pig bucket, and some financial 'genius' suggested putting pressure on other countries not to buy Russian oil at high world prices from Russia.. sighting how Indonesia recently apperantlly didn't buy Russian oil even at 30% discount because of fears from US secondary sanctions against Indonesia. Of course, Indonesia has trade with the west, in particular tourism from Australia.. and that's they only big export earning for Indonesia.. tourism, so it's easy to understand the Indonesian decision. But very few countries are in that predicament..ie. depending heavily on western trade. Actually, right now, most countries want to secure energy at any cost, as energy world crisis worsens, and if they don't fill up soon, many will be left running on near empty. We all saw the Sri Lankan energy fiasco, and the response of the people there. No country would want to end up in that bucket .. US secondary sanctions, or not. Even Indonesia is now rethinking it's decision, as it doesn't want to be bullied by any western government, and be seen dominated by western economic blackmail.
Western politicians and media don't tell their publics, that when Russia sells less energy products, world inflation rises immediately.. and is very difficult to restrain and especially to bring down. It takes years to bring it down.. it's in all the historical data. Why is that? Because Russia is the only Natural Resources Superpower and world's No.4 economy. And whilst sanctions may work on certain products, when it comes to essentials like food and especially energy.. market forces in most countries absolutely ignore any such unnatural market levers, as sanctions are. Noone will sit down and freeze to death, whilst instructed by far away Whitehouse. It's crazy to assume that.. when history and common sense has proven the opposite.
But western politicians aren't rational people. They dug a deep pig hole against Russia, and now can't get out of it. World Peace will come, only after the present crop of crazies, in amongst the western rulers are replaced with people who can think, and don't want to end up in the pig hole, with the rest if the dirty pigs.
Recently, we started to see splits between western governments, and we all knew that such madness can never be sustained between western politicians.. especially with Northern winter coming, and all start to freeze at home, and paying triple to fill with petrol or diesel.. not to mention everything else..like food.
Even in Australia, the 'paradise' and envy of all western countries, where many avarage Australians live in million dollar houses, inflation and cost of living pressures have made many locals think twice about western political approach against Russia and China. These million dollar homes are looking great on the outside.. all plastics and foreign vegetation around.. but when we look more closely inside the overpriced houses, we see much structural mould, rats living underneath the floorboards, and cheap ineffective renovations. That's common in all Australian cities.. but especially in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia's largest cities.. just about the largest on territory in the world, but not more than 5 million residents in each one. All beautiful on photos but really cheap and phoney in reality. Well.. it's how the west was built.. quick, cheap and nasty.. all profit without substance and real quality.
Australia grows it's economy mainly by local consumption. It's very young European culture (200 years roughly) has just about suffocated the oldest living culture in the world (50,000 years roughly).. the Aboriginal one.
So, Australia depends on immigration to grow economicly.. henceforth, our new government has increased immigrant intake this year by almost one quarter of set previous target. But, we have a huge problem..plenty of underpaid jobs, without the infrastructure to accommodate even the people we have now, just over 25 million. Australia is huge..but mostly desert and most places are far away from making a living. We have huge shortage of housing, huge overpricing of Real Estate, shortages of all social services, even in large populated areas in Sydney and Melbourne.. but the 'bush', what we call all outside of cities and towns, is pathetic, just like any third world place. It boggles our minds: Where would all these new immigrants live? They will earn very little but will have to compete for housing and social services with locals, who also struggle to survive. Immigration is fine, but only when it's thought out and prepared for.. certainly not in today's Australia.. where most people want to live in just 3-4 big cities.. and when even these cities are so unprepared and government after government has destroyed all public quality services. Now, we don't have enough well trained doctors, nurses, teachers, public servants.. even lack food variety and many other products we once imported from China.
In a nutshell.. Today's Australia is no longer a western paradise.. but just an illusion of what we could have been, and destroyed by so called Liberal Democratic governance by fools.

A room at Stok Palace Heritage Hotel, Ladakh.
Home of the Namgyal dynasty since it was built in 1820, the Stok Palace was converted into a heritage hotel in 2008 and is a great place to get a glimpse into Ladakhi royal living of yore. It was opened to the public in 1980 by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and has since seen visitors from all across the world. The plush craftwork is elaborate and ornate, befitting a royal palace that has stood for nearly 200 years. Creature comforts are taken care of here—the breathtaking beauty of the Stok valley is just an added bonus. The palace is not only a reflection of the lifestyle of the kings and queens of this remote kingdom, but a piece of history itself.

Meditation: What do you do when someone you love very dearly and miss very much has been gone a very long time but promises to return soon? Do you ignore their absence, or do you anticipate their return and send them messages to let them know how much you long to be with them again? Jesus' parable about the long-expected return of the Master to his household brings this point home.
Parable of the watchful servants waiting for the master's return
Wealthy landowners often left their estates in the hands of their trustworthy servants and stewards. This gave them freedom to travel, trade, and expand their business ventures. They expected loyalty and hard work from their servants and rewarded them accordingly. Dutiful servants would eagerly anticipate their master's return by keeping the house and estate in good order. Jesus doesn't tell us in his parable whether the servants were ready to receive the unexpected return of their master. Were these servants excited or anxious about their master's return? The watchful servants, no doubt, looked forward to the future because they knew their master would be pleased and would reward them for their vigilance and hard work. Disaster and reprisal, however, awaited those who were unprepared because of carelessness or laziness.
Watching with hopeful expectation and vigilance for Christ's return
When we expect some very important event to happen, we often wait for it with excited anticipation. The Lord Jesus expects us to watch in great anticipation for the most important event of all - his return in glory at the end of this present age! The Old Testament prophets foretold the coming of the Lord when he shall judge between the nations and decide for many peoples (Isaiah 2:5).
The Advent season reminds us that we are living in the end times. The end times begin with the first coming of Christ (when the Word of God became flesh and dwelt among us - John 1:14) and it culminates in Christ's second coming on the Day of Judgment and vindication for his people. Jesus spoke of his return in glory at the close of the ages as an indisputable fact and predetermined act which he will perform as the Judge and Ruler of all peoples, nations, and individuals who ever lived on the earth.
"May your kingdom come!"
While the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is for certain, the time of his appearance is not yet disclosed. The Lord's day of visitation and judgment will come swiftly and unexpectedly. Jesus warns his listeners to not be caught off guard when that day arrives. It will surely come in God's good time! The Lord invites us to pray for the coming of his kingdom into our present lives and future as well. Jesus taught his disciples to pray - "may your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). Do you earnestly pray for the coming of God's kingdom - both now and at the end of the world?
The Lord will reward those who wait for him
The prophet Isaiah tells us that God will surely reward those who wait for his visitation: "From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who works for those who wait for him" (Isaiah 64:4). Our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, has entrusted us with his gifts and graces (his abundant favors and blessings). He expects us to make good use of the gifts and resources he gives us for his glory and for the benefit of helping and blessing others as well. He does not want us to use the present time we have here on earth in idleness or wasted living. He has work for us to do - loving, honoring, and serving him and loving, honoring, and serving our families, neighbors, and communities as well.
How do we watch and wait for the Lord's coming?
How does the Lord want us to be watchful and vigilant for his return? The kind of watching the Lord has in mind is not a passive "wait and see what happens" approach to life. The Lord urges us to vigilance and to active prayer that his "kingdom may come" and his "will be done on earth as it is in heaven". We are not only to watch for Christ, but to watch with Christ. The Lord wants us to have our hearts and minds fixed on him and his word. He wants us to be ready for his action and work of grace in our lives and in our world. Those who "wait" for the Lord will not be disappointed. He will surely come with his grace and saving help. Do you watch for the Lord's action in your life with expectant faith and with joyful hope?
The season of Advent is a time for rousing our minds and hearts for the Lord's coming. As his servants we watch for his will - continually seeking him. We watch for his word and his power - that he may act now to save and to deliver. And we watch for his visitation - he will surely come again! Servants of the Lord rouse yourselves! Be vigilant, be alert, be "watchmen" for the Lord pointing the way for his coming.
"Lord Jesus, awaken my heart and mind to receive your word and to prepare for your coming again. Free me from complacency, from the grip of sin and worldliness, and from attachments to things which pass away. May I always be eager to receive your word and be ready to meet you when you come again."
The following reflection is from One Bread, One Body courtesy of Presentation Ministries © 2020.
WAITING AND WATCHING
“What I say to you, I say to all: Be on guard!” ––Mark 13:37
Welcome to Advent. Christmas is near! Advent is a time of preparation for the coming of the Lord. We begin a new liturgical year with anticipation and hope. This sounds encouraging, but “we are sinful; all of us have become like unclean men, all our good deeds are like polluted rags” (Is 64:4-5). It hurts to look in the mirror!
Fortunately, God refuses to abandon His wounded children. “Yet, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay and You the potter: we are all the work of Your hands” (Is 64:7). If we are repentant and open to His grace, interior renovation follows. In this reconstruction project, we also have heavenly helpers. St. Paul prays, “I continually thank my God for you because of the favor He has bestowed on you in Christ Jesus” (1 Cor 1:4).
Therefore, our duty isn’t to agonize over sin or become self-loathing. Rather, God directs us to focus on our “own task” (Mk 13:34). This allows us to take a deep breath and fulfill our unique role — and stop trying to be something we are not. The Body of Christ functions best when each member exercises his or her own God-given gifts. We then allow the Holy Spirit to mold us into virtuous disciples.
Now we’re better prepared for Christ’s coming: both His coming as a Babe in Bethlehem and His return at the end of time. “Be constantly on the watch! Stay awake! You do not know when the appointed time will come” (Mk 13:33).
Prayer:  Father, make Advent my season of transformation.
Promise:  “He will strengthen you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” ––1 Cor 1:8
Praise:  “The One Who gives this testimony says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon!’ Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!” (Rv 22:20)

Get to know Kit
It’s the question(s) on nobody’s mind: who is divinity kittty?
Well let me just start by saying I have A LOT of time on my hands, like too much, like enough to find and fill all of this out for no other reason than because I felt like it. & with that being said, here’s some light public self reflection; hope it’s as good for you guys as it was for me!
1.    Full Name
Im gonna stick with “Divinity Kittty” but you can call me Kit, Kittty or Divinity.
2.    Zodiac sign
Gemini sun Aries Moon
3.    3 fears
dying with regrets, dying unfulfilled, living as a slave or vegetable.
4.    3 things I love

10.  The reason I joined tumblr
I joined tumblr like forever ago when it was fresh and new, immediately fell into the hole because I was a big dr.who, supernatural fan... didn’t really decide to actually “run my blog” until recently, because I just feel like it’s a cool platform to like be vulnerable and be myself without worrying about like local bs or anyone texting me or seeing me in public wondering “what was that post about.” Also, like I said, I’ve been here a while kind of just lurking in the shadows of my main acct, so I feel comfortable being myself here. Everyones weird and intellectual, it’s cool.

13.  Current relationship status
Dating a cishet man.. pray for me.
14.  Meaning behind my URL
Honestly, it’s nothing really that deep. I’d say I relate to the feline community, domestically house cats, but also panthers and lions. I also practice divination in the form of Tarot and Astrology.... I Am a Divine Feline. Divinity Kittty. the 3 Ts represent Trinity - which closely relates to perfection or completion. I also Love the number 3, for creation and manifestation (Trinity again). Idk, I guess it was that deep after all, lol
15.  Favorite movies
Ok so it’s somewhere between spirited away and Princess Mononoke... but also like maybe Bug or Teeth... Breakfast at tiffany’s too though, and Heathers.. Have to mention fight club of course, for the culture. and Cloud Atlas!!!! oh man. Apocolypto?? like hello! I don’t know, I’ve seen so many great movies. I really enjoy watching film actually.
16.  Favorite songs
Really depends what mood I’m in but right now F Q-C and Spiral by Wilough are both greatttt on soundcloud. Never skip.
17.  Favorite bands
I don’t listen to many bands anymore but I’d say maybe Tame Impala if he counts, or Cigarettes after sex.. the beatles will always hold a place in my heart too. And muse... and coldplay oh god. Sorry mom!

People who don’t pay attention when I’m trying to share or express something, bills, capitalism in general.
19.  3 things that make me happy
helping/being useful, holding hands, inside jokes
20.  Relationship with my parents
My dad kind of tries, but its one of those “too little too late” kind of deals. My mom is great, a bit negative and anxious, but my biggest regret is maybe I’m not expressing as much Love as I’d like to sometimes, due to my own traumas. I love her, I’m just a very casual lover. We try though.
21.  My pets
At my mom’s theres 2 wiener dogs, Mocha and Lulu who sleep in my room when I’m there. My bf and I also care for a Pit named Nomu, a cat named Ashes, and her fresh little month old cubs who don’t all have names yet but theres 5 of them... for adoption btw. Please.

24.  What I did yesterday
Yesterday I made some sales, hung out with my boyfriend, saw my cousin who’s in from out of town, and pretty much just vibed for the rest of the night.
25.  Something I’m talented at
Movement. I don’t know if that’s a real talent, but why wouldn’t it be. I’m really good at moving my body, like dancing, yoga, posture, flexibility, balance... I just like to move.
26.  Number of kids I want
One day, maybe like 2. Really I only want 1 but I’d have 2 just so they won’t be lonely growing up.
27.  3 habits I have
If I’m not careful I can easily spend an entire day in bed, I smoke at least 1 spliff almost every day.. especially before bed, spending more than I should.
28.  A lie I’ve told
The most recent lie I told was actually today, to my boss.. hear me out though, I just got this new job & she scheduled me but never gave me a log in for the schedules, so she calls me 2 hrs before my shift (opening) and I was just like oh yea “ I have to pick up my cousin at the airport so I can only come for like an hour while you find a replacement.” mind you my cousin got in yesterday... and she drove.. but whatever, I got a free day lol.
29.  Something I fantasize about
Civil and/or Spiritual Revolution, my role in the war+the new world
30.  My idea of the perfect date
Something outside, preferably in the sun and grass. Some kind of activity, either a game or like something where we get to create but also get to know each other better. Maybe some art or music is involved some how... last date I went on we kayaked out to a little private island and tripped half a tab, that was pretty perfect.
31.  Something currently worrying me
MONEY! omg, I’m a broke ass college kid man. And im not even in school right now, can you imagine the distress. I need my bills paid, and fast!
32.  Something that’s constantly on my mind
How I can be better than I’ve been.
33.  A photo of myself
Tumblr media
This is the most recent (quality) photo I have of myself, except my hairs black now... hi.

Stone Lake House
Located in The Reserve at Lake Keowee in upstate South Carolina, this lake house with stone exterior is beyond words! I honestly feel very proud to be sharing it with you today.
This vacation lake house was designed by Timothy S. Adams  TS Adams Studio (Noah Speights was the project manager) and the impeccable interiors are by Barbara Westbrook of Westbrook Interiors. It took many years (eight, to be precise) for the homeowners to finally have their dream lakehouse, but the right moment certainly arrives to those that persist upon their dream.
What I love most about this home is that nothing is predicable yet everything feels balanced and in harmony. You will notice that most of the furnishings are custom (available through the designer), but I will be sharing similar items to make it more accessible.
I also want to take a minute to thank all of you, my dear readers for sharing the posts with your friends and for pinning the pictures. Thank you for your continuous support. I truly appreciate each and every one of you!

Tuesday, 29th of november 2005
When I left home this morning, I saw that someone had repainted the pavement's white lane markings. The newly lettered STOPs covered the old and faded characters like freshly fallen snow.
The icy new lines sat slightly off-center the old ones, and the two STOPs blended into double-vision. I felt as though I had astigmatism when I looked at them. The painters hadn't traced the old edge-lines very well either. I could see traces of the old and over-trodden markings beneath the newly painted lines.
They should do better work when they try to renovate the area. Even so, the repainted lane markings made me feel as though the roads had renewed their vigor.
I walked to the train station and thought about roads. Roads and the ground that they pattern form much of our perception of a town. We need them to comprehend something as simple as a row of houses along a street.
An unpleasantly warm wind slipped across my face.
I noticed the blurred STOP letters on the ground and then I noticed other lines and figures that I usually ignore. Though it sounds odd, the lettered STOPs made it impossible to stop seeing new things!
I observed the pavement while I walked, and the act felt natural. I had paid enough attention to notice two species of STOPs on the road: one written in kanji, and the other written in hiragana. Had someone placed the hiragana STOPs for younger school children who might rush into traffic? And, if that's so, had someone placed the kanji STOPs in traffic lanes for kanji-literate drivers?
No... I decided against my explanation. I saw hiragana STOPs for drivers too. What standard does the city use to determine where hiragana and kanji STOPs go?
I continued walking with my head bent toward the ground. I saw so many painted figures such as squares, plusses, and perpendicular Ts. I noticed numbers and letters on speed limit signs... I saw Emergency Parking signs in front of the hospital. I even noticed the commonplace median markings, stop lines, and crosswalks.
I gave the pavement's surface more and more attention. I saw grounded dashes, marks, numbers, and letters fill the pavement. All countries paint this kind of national graffiti on their roads.
I hadn't realized so before, but different types of roads serve as navigation media that carry a lot of information. The asphalt symbols define a sort of program to describe the way everything should move... people, bicycles, motorbikes, and cars.
I didn't see a single naked road during my walk to the station. Well… I didn't see anything in the alley where I take my shortcut. No cars travel there.
We'll see our roads painted with more and more symbols in the future. We'll walk around looking at the numbers and road signs on the ground.
We should look at the ground more often while walking. Our postures will worsen, but perhaps we'll discover something from our new perspective. Our tears will drop straight down our faces though, so we'll need to take care when we cry.
I ate an Agedori Lunch at the restaurant Hana Goyomi. Gucci ordered Ishiyaki Kaisen.
I met with Mr. Muraoka at the bookstore. He recommended that I pick up The Day Yukio Mishima Died (Vol. 2). I got Joseph Finder's new novel, Paranoia, instead.
People are holding many festivals in honor of the thirty-fifth anniversary of Yukio Mishima's death. The movie Spring Snow has become a big hit recently too; Mishima wrote the film's source material. Maybe I'll read Mishima's books again after I've taken a long break from them.
My father ardently admired Mishima's writing. I remember his shock when he learned that Mishima had committed harakiri.
I stopped by Shin-chan's work booth after I had returned to KojiPro. I found him with a Mishima biography.
Shin-chan, Murashu, Rettsu, and I received our flight suits for OOOO Training from Phantom. Murashu tried his on first. He posed flamboyantly when I took out my camera.
We had arranged to get identical flight suits. We bought them used from a military base. We don't need brand-new materials this time because we plan to incorporate them into our self-made camouflage outfits.
Each suit's color differs from the others', but they all were once identically green. The colors of the Nomex fibers blush when over-exposed to the sun. The tincture of the new colors depends upon the circumstances and length of exposure to ultraviolet rays.
Each suit outwardly bears the record of its military career.
Microsoft has recently released the Xbox 360 in the United States. I played a bit of Project Gotham Racing 3 and drove a white Lotus Esprit through London. I felt like Roger Moore as 007.
I parked the car on the side of the road and then manipulated the camera to view the onlookers behind the wire frame. The people aren't in 2D - they're in 3D! It's a next-generation system, so that's really expected.
I played the U.S. version, and I found that the options include Japanese and even Korean subtitles. Incredible... does this mean that the system is region-free? If that's true, then I can play foreign games too. I definitely want to play King Kong, but I should watch the movie before I play the game.
I gave an interview in the early evening with Mr. Hamamura for Famitsu's December 22 issue. Mr. Hamamura's interviews always turn into pleasant conversations.
Enjoyable interviews don't happen very often. No matter how many interviews I give, I always feel apprehensive. I especially become more cautious whenever I interview with newspapers or general interest magazines. Some of the nastier interviewers schedule an appointment just to bring up their ideas about the immorality of video games. Other wily interviewers try to talk me into a corner. I actually get a stomachache after enough of those.
Mr. Hamamura is totally different. We have both worked in the industry for a long time, and he has a lot of experience in games. Mr. Hamamura loves games, and he shares my concern for the future of the gaming industry.
I actually started to enjoy today's conversation so much that I forgot it was work! I dropped my guard and I accidentally mentioned our new PSP project.
I'll apologize to Okamura before they publish that issue of Famitsu.
I went shopping in Ginza later in the evening. I hadn't been there in a while. Ginza's department store closes early at night, so I only had an hour. I had to shop so quickly that I didn't have a lot of time to deliberate.
I automatically rush out of a department store whenever they play Auld Lang Syne. They only use the chime to announce that they will close soon. They don't mean to throw me out, but I rush out anyway. I wasn't able to buy a lot, but at least I had the chance to shop.
I saw a huge Christmas tree in front of the Chanel boutique. It would light up only in fixed intervals, probably to save energy. All the nearby girls started to photograph the tree with their cell phones when it lit up. They treated the occasion like a red carpet affair for a film star.
I pulled out my camera, too, for HIDEOBLOG. I was the only man there-but at least I had the best camera.
I wonder... who will they show their pictures to? Will the girls send them to their peers or boyfriends by cell phone email? I don't think that many women take photographs to preserve their subjects' beauty. I think they take them to show other people.
Of course, I took my photograph to include in HIDEOBLOG. Widespread cell phone usage has really changed the purpose for photography.
I passed in front of the lottery ticket seller with the reputation for selling the most winning tickets. Unfortunately they had already closed for the day.
I was surprised to see guards standing around the front of the booth. I suppose they had received a lot of daytime business.
It was the legendary booth where they sell the most winning tickets in Japan. The booth's front sign proclaimed in large letters: "Our billionaires were born here! Three hundred people have won 42.1 billion yen during the whole Heisei Era! Fourteen people won 2.6 billion yen in Heisei-16 alone!"
The booth gave me a strangely strong feeling that I could win. I would have bought some tickets had the booth stayed open. I stepped closer and noticed that its windows had been assigned numbers from 1 through 7, with the exceptions of 4 and 6.
I can understand why they omitted 4 - it’s an unlucky number. I wonder why they left out 6 though. What's wrong with 6?
I mused quietly to myself about these things, and Kenichiro called the Chance Center to ask about it.
They had seven numbered windows in the beginning. "Vox Populi, Vox Dei" had mentioned on November 28 that people would wait in line at Window-1 for three and a half hours. The window gained a reputation for selling many winning tickets. News of Window-1's fortune spread, and its business increased.
After a while, Window-1 couldn't handle its number of clients. They wanted to create a second Window-1 to resolve this. They would renumber the windows 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 – but then 7 would have disappeared. They couldn't just do away with lucky number seven. They decided to discard the number 6, so that's why the booth appears as it does today.
Even lottery shops outwardly wear their histories.
I would have bought lottery tickets from Window-3. I haven't aggrandized the number 3 like the hero did in Stealth. It's just an attractive looking number, and I've always liked it because of that. Number three is also another lucky number.
At the HMV in Ginza, I listened to the album With Love & Squalor by the band We Are Scientists. I decided to go ahead and buy it. It's the New York based trio's first album.
Their style sounds a lot like British rock, and their sound coheres with the in-vogue Post-New-Wave movement. The Bravery and The Rapture came from New York too. Perhaps British rock fans should pay attention to New York.
I ate a late dinner at Toridori in Ginza San-cho-me. "San" means three, so there's another number three! It took me a little while to realize that I had been there before.
I settled for a couple of glasses of draft beer since I wasn't in top physical shape today.
I left Ginza on the Hibiya subway line. It was already late, so I just descended at the transfer station and passed Roppongi Station. I didn't go back to the office.
I only bought a ticket for the trip between Ginza and Roppongi since I already have a commuter pass. I wouldn't have been able to pass through the automatic ticket gate outside the transfer station without that ticket. The alarm would have activated if I had only inserted my Roppongi pass. They use these measures to prevent people from cheating on their fares.
I have always taken the gate with an actual stationed employee to solve that problem. I could simply show him both my commuter pass and my ticket. I went to the last gate on the row and presented both to the employee.
"Oh, right," he said casually. "Put both of them into the automatic gate's slots, please. Then you can pass with no problem!"
"Really? I haven't heard of this before."
I half doubted what he said, but I inserted both into the machine as he had advised. It's the same method used when boarding the Shinkansen bullet train. They require us to insert both the regular ticket and the special express pass at the same time.
The gate opened just like he said it would.
"Wow!"
That was convenient. How long have they used this? Was I the only one who didn't know about it? Or had they recently revamped the automated gates?
I later considered it rationally, and I realized that it shouldn't be too difficult. From both technological and financial perspectives, machines ought have the ability to accept a ticket and a pass pretty easily, one laid atop the other. What have they been doing all this time?
It's such a trivial matter, but I can't stop thinking about it.
I suddenly remembered when I first passed through an automatic ticket gate. I had boarded the Hankyu Line in the Kansai region. That was over thirty years ago.
Not many people know this, but Kansai used automatic ticket gates long before Tokyo. They installed the mechanized gates one day without any warning. I was a boy in elementary school, and I felt as though the door to the future had opened.
"Now, wait just a second...."
Thirty years have passed. The ticket-reading technology and its speed have surely improved since then. It can now recognize the doubled-up SUICA Pass.
But can we really call that progress? We've only modified our machines to read two passes at once after thirty years. Nothing about the ticket gates has really changed, unless we count the advertisements stuck on them. Other technologies advance quickly, but ticket gate technology has moved as slowly as a turtle. Even the game consoles have advanced rapidly within only ten years.
What will the next-generation ticket gate look like? The idea seems kind of strange.
I'm sure that the very concept of ticket gates will disappear in the future. We'll soon enter into the age of digitized personal identification. We won't need to carry anything with us. We'll shop with digitized personal IDs, and we'll even use them to pay for transportation and food. The fees will automatically withdraw. A time will come when personal IDs will handle all of our living needs-food, clothing, and even shelter.
It will be convenient, but I still can't shake the suffocation that comes when I think about it. We may even see a society so controlled that we'll need personal IDs just to breathe fresh air. We will exchange that freedom for 21st century security.
I wrote HIDEOBLOG after midnight with the television running in the background. I saw Mr. Tokoro's commercial several times: "The End-of-the-Year Jumbo Lottery: Three Hundred Million Yen!"
The absent Window-6 haunts me.

The #1 Curb Appeal Update to Add Value to Your Home
Today’s post is in partnership with Clopay; all image courtesy of of Clopay. As always, all opinions are my own.
Thinking about the value of your home, whether you are planning to sell or just want to be proactive about keeping up the condition of your home, can be sort of overwhelming.  There are often many things that could possibly be done to help raise the value of your home but what do you spend your hard earned dollars on that will bring the greatest return?  The answer is- work on your curb appeal, specifically garage doors!
I like to keep up my knowledge of remodeling, by reading what is important now in home renovations.  I read a report by Clopay, about curb appeal most recently.  They partnered with an independent research firm, to conduct a nationwide survey  as a response to the Hanley Wood Remodeling 2018 Cost vs. Value Report (www.costvsvalue.com), since Remodeling magazine has been doing their study for three decades and the results have always been different, they wanted to get a second opinion.
According to the Clopay report, Realtors estimate that upgrading a garage door can increase the perceived selling price of a home by up to 4%, depending on the style (I bolded that to draw attention to the fact that the look and style of the garage door matters).
The Cost vs. Value Report says the approximate $3,470 cost for an upscale garage door replacement delivered an estimated $3,411 when the house sold. That’s a 98.3 percent ROI on average, nationwide.  Read more about the report here for more about how updating a garage door really does impact resale value.  Garage door replacement ranks No. 1 in costs vs value and nearly pays for itself!  In fact an upscale garage door replacement may actually recoup more than 100% of it’s cost.   © 2018 Hanley Wood, LLC. Complete data from the Remodeling 2018 Cost vs. Value Report can be downloaded free at www.costvsvalue.com
If you aren’t sure, just know that while this is the first time garage door replacement has ranked number 1, it has been consistently in the Top 5 for many years!  So this is a great place to start.  Don’t believe me?  Check out the report for some AMAZING before and afters!
Considering that many of us live in houses that heavily feature the garage door as a main focal point and most often the garage door that exists with the house is less than stellar, this investment into your home can have great results! We’ve shared several virtual curb appeal makeovers focusing on garage-heavy homes here previously, and these additional real-life examples show how upgrading a basic garage door to an upscale garage door really enhances the curb appeal of a home, which in turn adds value to your home.
For example, this house is stunning to begin with, but updating the garage doors made the garage an asset to the look of the home!
We often hear from readers who want to update the curb appeal of their brick homes, without painting the brick — just look at how the new garage door improved the curb appeal of this home!
Here’s another home, that was beautiful to begin with — but the garage door upgrade completely changes the exterior by matching the color of the siding and making the garage door an architectural feature instead of just a necessary element.
Even with a unique mid-century exterior, an updated garage door really adds to the visual appeal — which in turn impacts resale value with a high ROI!
Your home doesn’t have to be grandiose to benefit from a garage door curb appeal update. This little detached garage had seen better days, but a fresh coat of paint and a pergola-style awning combined with a beautiful new garage door made this exterior shine again!
As part of an exterior update, upgrading the garage door really can’t be skipped for maximum effect — the new fence and landscaping here are beautiful, but the new garage door enhances the updates and really makes the home a head-turning property.
So, when you’re looking at curb appeal updates to add value to your home, take a good look at your garage door, and be sure to check out Clopay to find out the best options for updating the curb appeal of your home while adding resale value.

Introduction to anodised aluminum sheets
Anodised aluminum sheet is to place the aluminum sheet in corresponding electrolyte (such as sulfuric acid, chromic acid, oxalic acid, etc.) as the anode for electrolysis under specific conditions with externally applied current. Thealuminum sheet of the anode is oxidized and has an aluminum oxide film formed on the surface; the film is 5-20μm thick, and a hard anodic oxidation film can be up to 60-200μm thick. After anodization, the aluminum sheet achieves greater hardness, better abrasive resistance (up to 250-500 kg/mm2), and good resistance to heat; the hard anodic oxidation film also features a melting point of up to 2320 K, excellent insulativity, high breakdown voltage (up to 2000V), and enhanced resistance to corrosion (it may stand salt spray under ω=0.03NaCl for thousands of hours without being corroded). Additionally, the oxide film is distributed with numerous pores that can absorb various lubricants, thus making the anodised aluminum sheet suitable for manufacturing engine cylinder or other wear-resistant parts; the strong absorbability of the film can also be well utilized to form various bright colors.
II. Anodization process of aluminum sheets
1. General principle of aluminum sheet anodization generating aluminum oxide film
2. Selection of electrolyte for anodization of aluminum sheets
3. Types of anodization of aluminum sheet
4. Structure and properties of the oxide film formed during aluminum sheetanodization
III. Applicable scope of the anodised aluminum sheets
The anodised aluminum sheets are widely used in such fields as mechanical parts, airplane and automobile parts, precise instruments, wireless electrical appliances, building decorations, mechanical housing, illumination lamps, electronic consumables, art wares, household appliances, indoor decorations, sign boards, furniture automobile decorations, etc.
IV. Advantages of the anodised aluminum sheet
(1) Good processability: the anodised aluminum sheet is strongly decorative, featuring moderate hardness and easy bending and shaping; it can be processed by continuous pressing at high speeds, and directly made into products without requiring complex surface treatment, thus having greatly reduced the production period and the production cost of products.
(2) Good weatherability: an anodised aluminum sheet with oxide film of standard thickness (3μm) stands colorfast for a long time when it is used indoors, with no corrosion, oxidation or rusting; a thickened anodised aluminum sheet (thickness of 10μm) can be used outdoors with colorfastness under long-time exposure to sunlight.
(3) Prominent metallic features: anodised aluminum sheets may have their hardness on a par with gems and are well resistant to scratches; they have no paint coating on the surface and thus have retained the metallic gloss of aluminum sheets, protruding the modern metallic features and promoting the class and added value of the products.
(4) Good resistance to fire: as the anodised aluminum sheet is purely made of metal without any paint or chemical substance, it neither combusts at a temperature as high as 600 degrees, nor generates any poisonous gas, and thus satisfies the requirements for environmental protection.
(5) Good resistance to dirt: the anodised aluminum sheet retains no finger print, and thus no stains will be left; it can also be easily cleaned, without producing any corroded spot.
(6) Wide applicability: the anodised aluminum sheet is widely used, and applicable to metal aluminum ceiling, curtain wall plate, aluminum composite panel, fireproof board, honeycomb aluminum panel, single aluminum sheet, electric appliance panel, cabinet panel, furniture panel, etc.
VII. Basic processing procedures of surface treatment are as follows:
Procedures for anodization of aluminum sheets: racking – degreasing – rinsing – alkaline corrosion – rinsing – neutralizing – rinsing – anodizing – rinsing – pore sealing – rinsing – off rack – testing – packing.
Among the procedures, degreasing, alkaline corrosion, neutralizing, anodizing and pore sealing are key to ensure the oxidation quality.
Mirror anodized aluminum sheet/reflective aluminum sheet
The most advantage for mirror/reflective aluminum sheet for wall material, such as the building exterior curtain walls/renovations for old building, the mirror/reflective aluminum sheet for shop door decorations, advertisement board display platforms and signboards, or wallboards and ceiling for tunnels, or industrial materials.

Southern Farmhouse
Certain homes just steal your heart the moment you look at them and this one does that to me.
Recently built by my friends at New Old LLC (previously featured here & here), this is the type of home that you build and chances are you won’t want to change a thing for a very long time. Classic lines with a hint of unexpected rusticity (take a look at that reclaimed wood kitchen hood!), makes this Southern-style farmhouse home a timeless inspiration.
Take notes on all sources shared by this incredible builder and feel free to pin your favorite pictures. Have a good time, my friends!
