Bugs||Troy Otto x Reader on Ao3
This is the spicy chapter of my story that has yet to be released! Link is pinned :)
Tumblr media
Contains: pwp, fem!reader, switching
Word count: 1,750
You reached for him feverishly, your hands finding place in his thick hair, his face, the curve of his neck.. anywhere you could feel the heat of his skin.
He was a quick learner, his long fingers tangling through the hair at the back of your head. He used his other hand to grip your waist, pushing you with small suggestive tilts of your hips towards the side of his bed.
"Troy-" you tripped onto his bed, holding onto the neckline of his shirt to steady yourself.
"Yeah?" His breath was heavy, mouth agape. He was indulging in the sight of you, yearning for any touch you would give him.
"Take your shirt off." You ordered breathlessly. He was quick to pull himself free of it, tossing it in whatever direction before pressing his lips against yours once more. Shivers ran up your spine when his mouth shifted towards your jaw, leaving sloppy kisses down your neck.
You hummed ever-so quietly, blissfully. But the simple sound was enough for both his hands to find your body, pushing you against the bed until he was over you, his lips teasing at the hem of your top.
You placed a hand on his chest, guiding him off of you and to your left, his palm digging into his bed as he leaned. His eyes searched you frantically for a reason to your distance. You moved to your knees, sadistically reveling in the desperation on his face.
You couldn’t stop a grin as you raised your top over your head, cold air attacking your skin.
There was no other way to say it; Troy was devouring you with his eyes. Every curve and mark, the nervousness in the way you looked at him.
He’d never done anything like this, but he knew he wanted to do everything to you.
You connected to his lips again, swinging a leg over both of his, straddling the man. He pushed off his hand, pressing his body against yours. You traced his broad shoulder with your fingers, the heat radiating off his body almost palpable in the air.
You shifted your hips to get a better angle, and you couldn’t help but break the kiss with a grin. He had made a noise, similar to the one you had made. A little hum of pure satisfaction was enough for you to lose it, the heat in your core igniting into a full blown fire.
You shifted your hips again, just as delicately, and you could see him try to push down the same noise as before. Was he embarrassed?
You pushed him to his elbow with another kiss, rolling your hips into his in one full motion. He was louder that time, unable to push it down like before. You were living for his breathy voice, you loved that he couldn’t help it.
You felt him, pushing up against the wetness in your pants. Your lips traced his jaw, then down his neck, all while moving just enough to make his voice come through his breaths.
"Fuck.." he swore your name, gripping your hip with his free hand, feeling the way you moved.
You gasped when he rolled his hips against yours, the sudden pressure to your core enough to make you moan. He matched your rhythm until you were stifling your satisfaction with his lips.
He used his grasp on your hip to further press you against his restrained cock, until he was practically rutting against you without rhyme or reason.
"I want you," you managed through breaths, "inside me.."
He tensed for barely a second before using his grasp on your hip to flip you to your back with enough force to make you bounce, leaving kisses along your collarbone. Troy roughly pulled the cup of your bra down, dragging his tongue along your bust. Even though you jolted in pleasure at it, that was entirely for his satisfaction.
He stood then, pulling roughly at the sides of your pants, ridding you of them and your underwear in barely a second.
It stunned you, bringing your legs up to your chest as the cold gave you goosebumps. "Troy!" You spoke his name sternly.
"Yeah?" He climbed back over you, parting your knees with his hands ever-so casually and thoughtlessly, just so he could meet your eyes.
He was attentively staring at you, patiently waiting for you to finish your statement as if he hadn’t just done the hottest thing you’d ever seen.
You just laughed, your hand running through his thick locks.
"I need you." You whispered, all too sincerely.
He kissed you, but it was gentle this time. A declaration of unanimity.
Until his fingers pressed against your folds. Your breath shivered, searching his eyes as he dragged a single digit up your slit, his eyebrows raising as he found your clit, knowing by the way your body tensed under him. He looked satisfied with his discovery, pressing his finger between your folds, making small movements around your bud.
Each small flick would make you shake. He had total control over you with just one finger. He reveled in the power as he made little circles around your clit, until your breathy moans turned into his name.
It took everything he had not to plunge into you without a second thought, to relieve the pressure of his newly tight pants. He still wanted to do everything to you.
His finger dipped, teasing your entrance as he watched your brows contort.
"Please.." you begged, whining. It was pathetic, considering you had confidence that you could hold the power. You should’ve known that Troy would do anything he could to have the upper hand.
His finger plunged inside of you and your eyes shut, focused on the feeling of him inside your walls.
"More.. please." You had to be wet enough to take him at that point, so just one digit wouldn’t cut it.
He was so quick to adhere to your request, another finger sliding inside of you, then out.
"Curve-" you barely spoke between his movements, "curve your-" you were cut off by your own hand crashing against your mouth, stifling the moan that he had caused by curling his fingers against your core. Your back arched as you failed to quiet yourself.
He sped up, tears forming in your eyes as you rode against his hand.
"Troy.. I-" he slowed as you tried speaking, "I need to be quiet." You reminded him with a desperate whine.
"No you don’t." He shook his head, kissing you roughly before standing once again.
You followed his lips like a magnet until he stood. You watched him flip open his belt, an unholy excitement rising within you. His chest rose and fell quickly, and his tongue poked out between his teeth, like when he’s focused on writing. Even in the hot, heavy moment before you, you still found him so god damn cute it was unbearable.
He was so cute in fact, that it took you a second to register just the sheer amount of him between his legs.
He’d always known he was well endowed, and the nervous confirmation from you made his lips pull into a cocky smirk. He called for your attention with your name, so you looked at him with only a few spare glances. "Do you want this?" He asked sincerely.
You imagined what he would feel like, filling you up, whimpering your name..
"Please." You begged, and he was over you once more, his heat blanketing you from the cold night.
You felt the tip of his cock at your entrance and you desperately shifted your hips, impaling yourself onto as much of him as you could reach before you bounced back.
"Please.." you begged again, looking him in the eye. He looked stiff, like if he moved, he wouldn’t be able to control himself.
You selfishly pushed yourself onto him again, but this time he met you in the middle. You gasped and hissed in pain as he stretched your entrance.
He didn’t stop, plunging himself deeper into you than you thought he could. You bit your lip, knowing your pain was a consequence you brought onto yourself.
He pulled out slowly, then back in, quicker this time. He stifled a whimper in his throat, placing a hand on your hip and the other by your head. "You can take it." He told you as he thrusted again. Your breath was heavy, brows furrowed. You nodded as he thrusted again.
"You can take it.. you can take it.." he repeated in a whisper as his hips bucked into you.
And god, were you taking him. The burning pain all but disappeared and you were left with the heat building up in your core that his cock kept pressing against. You threw your head back, your body moving with each thrust, each little whine and hum from his throat making your body tingle.
"God.." he whimpered as you tightened around him. You were shaking as the knot inside of you finally bursted, sending waves of pleasure through your body.
You weren’t just moaning his name, you were practically mewing it. Breathing it.
His breaths quickened, thrusts getting faster, out of pace.
"Come in me." You managed to say wholly.
He didn’t know what to do with your request at first, but he caught on quick and those three words repeating in his head, coming from your swollen mouth, was enough to send him over the edge.
You rode out the last wave of tingles as he finished, arm shaking next to your head. You kissed his hand, his wrist. As he pulled out of you, you tried to rise with him but couldn’t find the energy, laying in the center of his bed with a heaving chest.
The bed dipped beside you and you turned, Troy watching you while balanced on his elbow. He just watched you like always. That same look he’d given you since the day you arrived.
Finally, you scoffed, "You have a really bad staring problem, you know that?"
He smiled, blinking slowly. "I know." He admitted coyly, letting his head fall between your neck and shoulder.
"I mean seriously!" You teased with a deep breath as you felt him laugh against you, reaching an arm over your waist and pulling your back to his chest. He was so warm that you found it very hard not to forgive him.
Plus you really didn’t mind the staring.

Welome to tonight's drunk drabbles...
Set after Troy "died" ... that's all you need to know.
CHARACTERS: Troy Otto X Fem Reader
PROMPT IS FROM THIS LIST!
11. “It takes a very special kind of idiot to pull off what you just did.”
Tumblr media
The small group gasped in the clean air as they released their sun burnt skin from the gas masks they adorned all day. The clothing each wore piled into a cloth bag in the corner as they exited the small space, still catching their breaths. The light bulb swung above the crew in the dim room, casting shadows that would later visit most in their nightmares the following few hours.
One let her hair down from the top knot it was barely holding onto. Shivers ran down her back at the sensation of the falling hair across her bare shoulders before a voice yelling her name rang through the drywall and her bones.
“It takes a very special kind of idiot to pull off what you just did.” Troy's face was more serious than you'd seen it in quite a while. His cheeks radiate the red heat your eyes veer to before locking onto his gaze.
Trying your best a feign a lost puppy look to calm down the tall brunette, you spoke in a hushed tone running calloused fingertips over his right peck.
"It needed to be done and we both know I am the only one that could do it. I didn't want to put that on you, so I chose to go myself."
His temper did not retract, his anger at the situation possibly got more heightened. A situation YOU put yourself in.
Dropping the nice, soft voice, you returned his eye contact with harsh, blunt eyes and a voice to match.
"No one got hurt, okay. At least not THAT badly hurt. I'm okay and I know that's why you're all big bad wolf so chill little piggy. I got this."
Rarely was Troy speechless, but when he was it was typically after you opened your mouth. A mouth he loved to his core. A mouth he worried and truly worried day and night about. A mouth he thought about sewing up every now and then so he wouldn't have to hear that voice say what was on your mind every time.
Every. Time.

I’m the anon who wrote you about Daemon/Nettles and I have to say you and Daemyra shippers are the only ones who deny they were lovers,it’s not only Mushroom who said it,it is in the pro Blacks records and it fits Daemon,it doesn’t even mean he didn’t love Rhaenyra before but he was a womanizer, he loved dragonriders and she was young,he probably looked for some high and joy during the war,it’s not pretty but that’s Daemon,a grey man. The book says it pretty clear,is not a rumor,it also warns the readers that Nettles will cause “problems” to the 7 Kingdoms because Daemon will abandon Rhaenyra’s cause because of her, everybody knows it’s true.
Anon is referring to this POST.
"pro Blacks records" -- care to share, anon, which "records" you are talking about?
It would also be healthy for you to consider what this person says about Gyldayn and his history. It is in line with what I said HERE.
"everybody knows it's true" -- anon, why are you trusting the "everyone's" assessment of Daemon instead of looking at Daemon's actions and context? These are the same people (you don't specify so I assume they are people like Otto and some other courtiers in the Keep) who also believe that if you place an egg in a Targ royal baby's cradle and it immediately or soon hatches, then that child is a "true" Targ. Which is bullshit. Do not take things at face value. Doesn't mean that everyone believes it doesn't mean it's actually true. Use critical thinking and do comparative analysis. Use context, think about the biases that one may have.
The idea that Nettles would cause "problems" because Daemon supposedly was willing to abandon everything for her is both misogynist and inconsistent with how you and DaemonxNettles arguers yourselves characterize Daemon.
A)
It's misogynist because it repeats the idea that a woman's allure (and all women are attractions/repulsions to men) drives a man to distraction--blaming the woman 's very being--away from his societal duties or loyalties. It's Helen of Troy all over again.
Take a close read at Troilus and Cressida by Shakespeare and try a Folger’s edition so you can have footnotes and background info on how Renaissance intellectual society regarded the mythical figures mentioned and what philosophies about human will vs impulse. You will--if you actually think--see what I mean by the traditional misogyny.
Thus this argument is invalid.
B)
He could have flown away with Nettles if he either wanted Nettles more than Rhaenyra, or if he actually thought Rhaenyra was just unworthy of his loyalty. But he didn’t.
If he just wanted to just take advantage of Rhaenyra for himself and his own ambitions or ego, he would not left with Nettles because that would hinder or completely endanger his ability to hypothetically rule behind and control Rhaenyra.
He would not have lived with Rhaenyra for years on end if he did not love her. We see with Rhea Royce that he could never tolerate a marriage he did not enjoy or a person he did not love and/or respect.
He would not have created a plan to murder someone else’s son so that Rhaenyra’s son can be avenged (not his own bio son, this matters in context of these feudal men).
This is where Daemon has his “light”-ness and “dark”-ness.
He does care and fight for his family---this is his “light”. That love and regard for them. (Viserys refused to annul a marriage he despised and there is evidence and strong suggestions of them having multiple heated disagreements. Their relationship was always  or mostly  contentious.) He is also very clearly a nonconformist in that he does not court customarily or act how Otto Hightower (traditionalist man) wants him to act towards Viserys.
But his family and chosen people are literally all he cares about and he’s totally intolerant of everyone else. His morals are skewed because he prioritizes his family and Rhaenyra above altruism and will use quickly and gladly violence to ensure their survival. This is the core of his “dark”.
The same maester who you maybe say is your “pro-Black record” says this:
Over the centuries, House Targaryen has produced both great men and monsters. Prince Daemon was both. In his day there was not a man so admired, so beloved, and so reviled in all Westeros. He was made of light and darkness in equal parts. To some he was a hero, to others the blackest of villains.
(“The Rogue Prince”, written by Gyldayn)
And it rests on what I said about him being intolerant of those he doesn’t consider close or loved ones.
No one ever said he was a good man or that they wanted him, copy and paste, to exist. (If you do hear them say the latter, run.)
C)
Romances are romances because the story or substory is about how a relationship develops from the existing/developing romantic feelings of the characters. This is the definition of a romance. Nothing more, nothing less.
It’s not about how palatable or how moral and good the people are.
We get nothing suggestive of romance between Nettles and Daemon. But we get a lot from Rhaenyra and Daemon. Go back and read again.
So your other arguments are invalid.
I'm saying you are a misogynist hypocrite who only uses superficial details whenever you need to make an argument but end up always contradicting yourself because you don't form real arguments with reasonable supporting evidence (text and context) for comparative analysis. In  case you missed it.

This Nearly Crashed My Browser: Finding All 120+ Competitors
the current list
The Simpsons is known for it's utterly mind-boggling amount of episodes and characters, with its wiki having more than 5K entries in the character section. My job was to sift to through and pick out as many relevant characters as possible, while making some exclusions and exceptions. Here's how it went down:
The wiki's home page has a character tab with a dropdown with five category; Simpson Family, Krusty, At the SNPP, At Springfield Elementary, and Kids
Clicking on each tab will bring you to a page with all characters relevant to the category
-The Krusty tab is literally just Krusty, so I just found Channel 4 myself
In Simpson Family, I grabbed the core family, Snowball & SLH, Abe & Mona, Patty, Selma, and Ling
In Channel 4, I grabbed Krusty, Kent, Bumblebee Man, Sideshow Bob & Mel, Mr. Teeny, Itchy & Scratchy, and later I decided to expand it to celebrities, adding, Marvin Monroe, Troy McClure, Rainer Wolfcastle, Drederick Tatum, and just decided to stick Kang & Kodos here
In SNPP, I grabbed Mr. Burns, Smithers, Lenny & Carl, Blinky the Fish, Charlie, and the people's champion, "Just Stamp the Ticket" Man
In Springfield Elementary, I grabbed Skinner, Edna, Otto, Hoover, Largo, Willie, Chalmers, Krupt, and Doris
And in Kids, I grabbed Uter, Richard & Lewis, Database, Baby Gerald, Milhouse, Nelson, Wendell, Martin, Ralph, Rod & Todd, Sherri & Terri, Janey, and the Spuckler & Nahasapeemapetilon kids
I didn't find the bullies, Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney in Kids, so I made a throwaway category, "Townies". After these three and over the course of tracking other characters, I grabbed Barney, Sam & Larry, Hans Moleman, Snake, Bleeding Gums, Julio & Grady, Jebediah Springfield, Disco Stu, Squeaky Voiced Teen, Cletus & Brandine, and the City of Shelbyville.
Next, I decided to look for Senior characters, which eventually evolved into the aptly named "Olds" category. This was pretty broad, but here I grabbed Ned & Maude Flanders, Kirk & Luann Van Houten, Marge's Mother, Jasper, Mrs. Muntz, Old Jewish Man (which is his title, apparently), Ruth Powers, Mrs. Glick, Crazy Cat Lady, Sarah Wiggum, Agnes, Manjula, and Matt Groening.
Researching this category, characters such as Apu and Fat Tony came to mind, but were excluded since they do stuff. So then I made the final category, "Career", characters who are most defined by their career. This was the largest category, with me grabbing Apu, Reverend & Helen Lovejoy, Lionel Hutz, Moe, Dr Hibbert & Nick, Fat Tony, Legs & Louie, Johnny Tightlips, Frankie the Squealer, Judge Constance, The Salty Sea Captain & The Rich Texan, Mayor Quimby, Cookie Kwan, Blue-Haired Lawyer, Lindsey Naegle, Roger Meyers Jr, Gil, Comic Book Guy, Chief Wiggum, Officers Eddie & Lou, Herman, Italian Chef (not calling him f-ing Luigi Risotto), and Duffman.
Finally, the characters I forgot or couldn't originally fit, being Herbert, Allison, Rabbi Krustofsky, Artie Ziff, Shauna Chalmers, Kumiko Albertson, and Raphael the Wisecrack.
Exclusions and the Vaguest of Vague Rules
While constructing the list, at the start I avoided adding Allison, Herbert, and the Rabbi. In my mind, these were one-time guest stars, like Hank Scorpio and Frank Grimes, but I decided to include them as Allison became a Janey-like figure, Herbert got a follow-up episode in Season 3, and the Rabbi appeared on occasion with speaking roles. Characters I will never add would either be real-people, with the exception of Matt Groening, one-off guest stars, and set-dressing characters that don't impact main characters, such as Martin's parents, the other workers at the nuclear plant, and Sideshow Bob's wife and child.
Of course, I can bend the rules. If you think of a character that could be included, tell me in anyway you can and I'll decide on it or create a public poll. Why, just typing this up I thought of Flanders' parents, the Vegas wives, and Princess Kashmir, who could all be argued for or against!
Thanks for reading, and look forward to deciding polls and soon enough, a bracket! Asks always open!

The Sad & Current State of Fear The Walking Dead by Stephen Vivian
Link
When Fear The Walking Dead debuted in 2015 it became the most watched pilot episode in Cable TV history. Today, in it’s current fifth season, it whimpers along with less than a million and a half of live viewers. While the show’s ratings have steadily declined since it’s debut to 10.13 million viewers just over four years ago, it’s current reboot under co-showrunner’s and executive producers Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg is a far cry from a success.
In fact, less than two seasons into their reboot the show has gone from an 83% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes to a 66% amongst critics. And even worse, the audience score has dropped from 72% to an abysmal 36%.
This steep decline in quality has been a concern for die-hard fans who believed the show had finally found its footing in its season three outing. During that season the show stabilized it’s ratings and improved it’s critical consensus and it appeared the show was on track to outpace its parent series in quality. But less than two years later The Walking Dead has seen a resurgence in quality while Fear has dropped to all-time lows.
So what went wrong?
ERICKSON OUT; GIMPLE, CHAMBLISS and GOLDBERG IN
Fear was co-created by Robert Kirkman, who created the original comic series The Walking Dead, and Dave Erickson. Erickson served as showrunner for the first three seasons and it was his vision for the show to set itself apart from its parent series by focusing on a gritty family drama set amidst the growing apocalypse. His focus on the Clark family was taking shape and by season three it was apparent that lead actress Kim Dickens’ character, Madison Clark, was being written to serve not only as the shows main antihero but it’s burgeoning villain. She had done everything in the name of survival and didn’t take bullshit from anyone.
Her defining moment came in the two-part season three opener where she declared that it was their fate to take the ranch from its current leadership and that it would be their right to take it if it secured their survival. And so began Madison’s manipulations, starting with her and her kids ingratiating themselves into the Otto’s lives to prove their worth and keep them apart of the inner workings of the ranch. This mission – and her brutality in carrying it out – were beginning to take its toll on the very people she strived to protect: her children.
Alicia grew wary of Madison’s tactics and started to grow into her own, becoming a leader who undoubtedly would have to one day deal with opposing her mother as Madison reached full blown villain status. And even Nick, who Madison was obsessed with protecting and keeping by her side, began to see his mother’s brutality as alarming when she killed Troy with very little hesitation.
The dynamic between these three and how it would further be explored had taken the show to new heights, but sadly the writing was already on the wall when it was revealed that Dave Erickson would be departing the series as showrunner and was to be replaced by Once Upon a Time alums Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, both brought in by Scott Gimple who had taken on a larger role in The Walking Dead Universe by overseeing the development of both shows.
GIMPLIFICATION
Fans were wary of Gimple’s new involvement with the series. He had overseen The Walking Dead for five seasons. And while seasons four and five of the main show were critical and ratings successes, the problems with his leadership began to pop up in a very divisive season six. By season seven The Walking Dead had seen a drastic downturn in both critical and ratings success, culminating with Gimple’s departure as showrunner after season eight.
Hallmarks of Gimple’s leadership – splitting up the cast, drawing out story arcs that reduced the pace of the show to a crawl, and having characters act and speak illogically and in repetitive monologues were now on their way to Fear, a show that had earned its success from separating itself from the identity of its parent show through showcasing a grittier, more realistic portrayal of the zombie apocalypse. Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg were just the nails in the coffin as they would take these hallmarks and double down on them with reckless abandon.
DRASTIC CHANGES OF REBOOTING
The reboot swiftly introduced a time jump to bring the show in line with The Walking Dead for the sole purpose of crossing over Morgan Jones, a character whose story arc had been on a rinse-and-repeat cycle on The Walking Dead for far too long. Having him crossover could have been a great way to explore his character and breathe some life back into him, but sadly the showrunners simply doubled down on what was wrong with Morgan’s character in the first place.
Worse of all they decided to stunt all other characters growth and put them on a trajectory to adopt Morgan’s boring character traits, ultimately watering them down to unquestioning, idiotic do-gooders who do not worry about any personal matters but instead the larger group mission of do good at all costs; even if it means killing themselves to save someone who refuses their help and is more-than-likely going to result in getting more people killed.
The problems were readily apparent right from the outset of the first episode – an episode dominated by Morgan and new characters Althea and John Dory. No OG Fear characters were introduced until the very closing minutes of the show. And in the following seven episodes the original cast took even more blows, as both Nick and Madison Clark were killed off the show. The core dynamic of the show and the interesting premise of the original pitch of the series had been decimated in less than 8 episodes.
It was clear that Andrew and Ian had no regard for the cast who had been there since day one and who had given such great performances to carry the show to critical success. And once again they doubled down on new characters that had no depth, dimension or individuality in favour of propping up Morgan Jones as the new lead of the show.
BIGGEST GRIPES WITH SEASON FOUR & FIVE
The new cinematography style was to strip out all colour and use a hideous grey filter. Since the show was split into two timelines – the THEN timeline featuring the OG cast at the Dell Diamond, and the the NOW timeline featuring Morgan Jones meeting up with our remaining survivors – it was assumed the use of grey filter was meant to contrast the generally bright colours of the NOW timeline. Perhaps a thematic device to showcase the differences in the state of mind of Alicia, Nick, Strand and Luciana as they were on a mission of vengeance. But when that story was resolved in the mid-season finale, it was assumed we would return to normal colouring. Sadly, we were not.
Characters acting dumb, delivering nonsensical dialogue and out of character in order to service the plot. This is always one of the worse creative decisions a writing team could make and it was clear it was one the new showrunners were embracing. As I mentioned before, Madison Clark was a growing villain who would stop at nothing to keep herself and her kids safe. Suddenly in season four she was a leader of hope for the show, doling out idiotic, non-sensical lines such as “no one is gone until they’re gone”. Go back to episode 3x08 and listen to Madison tell her kids about how she killed her father to protect her mother against his abuse and how she was going to go talk to another old man, Jeremiah Otto, alluding to her reconciling that she would have to kill him to protect Alicia and Nick and you will see a vast difference in dialogue.
Gimmicks! The plot doesn’t serve to move the characters or the story forward in any meaningful or realistic way. Instead it’s as if the writers came up with these “cool moments” they think will look good on screen, and try to just connect the dots with nonsensical plot points and character direction to make it happen. Let’s not even get too into the airplane that they flew despite none of the people on the plane being a pilot, or the nuclear reactor breakdown that was supposed to present a huge threat but was resolved very anti-climatically.
And the cardinal sin that the new showrunners have committed is sidelining the previously well-developed OG characters in favour of new, poorly developed characters. First of all, if the decision to kill Madison off was to actually serve a true purpose for the story and the characters instead of this superficial “it’s what Madison would want us to do”, then the show should have rightfully been inherited by and led by Alicia. For starters, Alycia Debnam-Carey has a large following as an actress. And, as a character, is the biggest draw for the audience. Not only is she the last Clark standing, but she was on a trajectory to becoming a strong leader in her own right. But instead they felt the show would be better served with Morgan as the lead. It’s a shame because the show had a lot of potential by shifting focus to Alicia, but as it stands now, not even our OG characters or Morgan, the shows misplaced lead character, are strong enough to carry this show.
CAN THE SHOW BE SAVED? CAN IT DO BETTER?
I sure hope so. I haven’t followed steadily since episode 4x09. That episode bored me to tears. And no matter how many times I’ve tried to sit down and watch episodes from the latter part of season four or episodes of season five, I just simply can’t bring myself to do it. There’s just no motivation for me to keep watching. Nothing ever really happens. No one has grown in new and surprising or compelling ways. The show hasn’t had a message or a narrative worth investing in, because let’s be real the simplicity of “we’re here to help” is not a story. It’s a singular ideology adopted by EVERY character, no matter how senseless and idealistic it is.
I think there’s several ways to reinvigorate the show and get it back on track. To start, the show could learn to take risks. The show isn’t willing to take any risks right now and it’s painful. Given the world they live in and the threats they face, we should be seeing characters go down darker paths or even killing again. We don’t even get any real sources of conflict. It’s all contrived conflict to make it seem like there’s a threat to our characters when there is none. At. All.
Why not kill off a character without fanfare and have the real ramifications be the source of conflict. I thought they might have been able to pull this off after Nick’s death, but that fell flat too.
Imagine June dying and John growing darker wanting to avenge her. Imagine Morgan going all “clear” mode again and not coming back from it. He’d be far more interesting as a loose cannon who could no longer lead or support the people he rounded up into his mission. Imagine Madison returning in her true, pre-season four form and struggling to adapt to the groups mission and suddenly start pulling Alicia, Strand and Daniel’s loyalty away from the group. There are just so many, endless ways the show could create conflict without having to outsource it to inadequate villains, such as Martha or Logan.
There are so many themes to explore in a post-apocalyptic show. Season three was dealing with scarcity of resources and how it was causing conflict amongst survivors struggling to find supplies. In season five, it seems that they have unlimited resources with battery power for their walkie talkies, generators, video recording equipment, planes and hot air balloons. Enough already. This isn’t realistic. Logan, the shows current villain, if you can even label him as one, would be far more dangerous if the resources in the area were dwindling, as they would be, and he was pushed to the brink by trying to secure whatever was left for his groups survival. He wouldn’t be politely asking for directions to oil fields. He’d be taking it at gunpoint and killing people to get it.
The possibilities in this genre are unlimited. But one thing is for certain, since the show lost it’s true lead in Madison Clark, the series hasn’t felt right. Kim Dickens was wrongfully dismissed from this show, in my opinion. And until she is brought back I don’t think that the show will ever truly recover.
In short, Bring Back Madison, have her be the bad-ass, manipulative antihero she is meant to be, and have her character be a source of conflict for the group and Alicia. Imagine Alicia’s loyalties being torn between the mother she thought she lost and the group she has now called a family. Madison would be the best kind of bad influence on both Strand and Daniel, who were characters who thrived in the grey areas of morality under Erickson’s leadership, creating a far more dynamic and distinct direction for the series. It would also be a direction worthy of the acting talent that this show has in riches but sadly doesn’t utilize to it’s fullest potential.

Celebrity Skin - Part Two
Troy Otto x Reader Fear the Walking Dead SMUT FIC
Part Two: Baby One More Time
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: PURE SMUT!
Troy noted the time - he figured that it took you approximately 7 and half minutes to come the first time. He returned his gaze back to your pussy, making a mental note of how wet it was and the frequency of the pulsations, planning to jot down these observations down in his notebook later. He glanced up at your flushed face, your mouth still parted as you still had your eyes closed, lost in your pleasure. He stood up, lifting you up by your thighs and carrying you with him to the bed.
“That was phenomenal.” You sighed as your head hit the pillow. When you could finally manage to open your eyes, you look down at Troy, who was shirtless and in between your legs. He placed his lips softly on your inner thighs, causing your legs to tremble with anticipation.
He looked up at you as he spread open your drenched labia with his fingers, and proceeded to slowly circle your exposed clit with his tongue. He was being careful at first, as your quivering thighs gave away your oversensitivity, but your soft moans let him know you wanted more.
"Troy.." you whimpered as your fingers tangled up in his hair, your hips instinctively pressing your cunt closer to his mouth. Troy pressed his tongue deeply against you and inserted two fingers into your warm pussy, keeping your thighs apart with his shoulders.
You moaned and bit down on your lip as he hit your stimulated g-spot. His tongue began to move harder around your clit, up and down and side to side, alternating with deep sucks that made you dig your heels against his back.
He began to move his fingers in a steady rhythm in and out of your pussy, synchronized with the pace of his tongue and hungrily lapping up your arousal. your back arched and all you could focus on was the intense rush of sexual energy building up again, only this time the pressure was building up even deeper than before.
"Oh fuck…please…don’t stop!" You panted in between your breaths. Troy’s pace quickened, fueled his own desire as his hard cock throbbed against him. He wanted to taste you as you came in his mouth. The pressure in your body continued to build and you chased the high. You felt light-headed as the pleasure overwhelmed you.
"Troy...yes! Oh god Troy I’m.." Your body was shaking uncontrollably as you released a deep moan. Troy continued to work you through your overwhelming orgasm as your hands tried to push him away. He buried his face as deep into you as he could. When he felt that you were completely done, he rested his head against your thigh, enjoying the feeling of the pulsating throb of your core.
When your breathing started to return to normal, you weakly used your remaining strength to pull him up to you. You tasted yourself on his lips, and traced your trembling hands down his torso. You whined with need into his mouth as you unbuttoned and pushed his pants down.
"Let me taste you." You whispered in his ear as he nuzzled into your neck. you flipped your body so that you were on top of him. A seductive smile graced your glowing features as you grasped his swollen cock and freed it from the confines of his boxers. You immediately licked up the bead of pre-cum from his tip.
"Fuck Y/N!" Troy groaned at the sensation of your tongue. You began to teasingly lick around the rim of the head and playing with his balls. The combination of the orgasms and the drugs made you hyper aware of every sensation Troy was feeling as though you had developed a sixth sense. You could feel his pleasure coursing through your own veins.
You slowly inserted the tip onto your mouth, making sure to look up at him seductively. Troy’s lustful eyes met yours and he groaned out your name, his head falling back into the pillow.
Troy’s cock was exceptional. He was impressively endowed and you had to use your hands to grip the base as you took him as far in your mouth as you could. Troy’s engorged tip lingered at the edge of your gag reflex in your throat.
You closed your eyes as your mouth glided on his swollen cock, using your tongue on his most sensitive areas. Your rhythm increased with his breaths. Troy’s strong hands held on to the back of your head as he began to lightly push you up and down. It wasn’t long before he started to thrust his hips as he face fucked you. You were moaning and worshipping his cock. It gave you such a rush knowing you were giving him so much pleasure.
With one final deep thrust, Troy cried out your name and shot his cum down your throat. You squeezed your throat around him to milk every last drop as he groaned through his high. His release filled you with energy.
You climbed on top of him, straddling him as he was trying to catch his breath. He was still hard, his dick grazing your ass cheeks. You could not wait to feel him throbbing inside of you.
“Troy? Troy it’s Blake, where are you?” The voice coming from Troy’s two-way radio snapped you out of your sexual trance. Troy groaned out of frustration as you fished the radio from his pants and passed it to him.
“Yeah what is it?” Troy responded impatiently as his eyes and hands roamed your naked body.
“We have a situation along the perimeter.”
“Well can you handle it? I’m in the middle of something here.” Troy smirked at you as he playfully skimmed his fingers along your wet pussy.
“Nah bro this is a gnarly one.” Blake replied, causing Troy to groan and swear under his breath.
“Yeah alright, on my way.”
You flopped on your side, pouting at Troy as he got dressed.
“Fucking Blake.” Troy mumbled under his breath as he looked longingly at your sprawled out and disheveled form. He leaned down and pressed his restless lips to yours.
“Yeah that’s a shame.” You smiled up at him innocently and bit your lip. “I was really looking forward to playing with you all night.”
“I’ll make it up to you sweetheart.” Troy winked at you as he got up, drinking in your nude body one last time before making his way out the door.

(PR market analysis)
Chicago Bulls acquire all-star centre Nikola Vucevic
The Chicago Bulls made the biggest splash on trade deadline day (March 26) as they secured the services of two time all-star Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic (per Adrian Wojnarowski). The deal saw Chicago send a package of Wendell Carter Jr, Otto Porter Jr and two first round picks to Orlando to land the Montenegrin centre.
Vucevic is averaging a career best 24.5 points per game this season which was enough to see him named as an all-star for a second consecutive season. The move improves Chicago’s playoff bid as they now have a roster consisting of two all-stars with a talented supporting cast. Outside of Zach Lavine, the Bulls were lacking in offensive production which forced them to upgrade the team and pull the trigger on Vucevic, creating a deadly duo in the windy city who haven’t had two all-stars on the roster since 2016.
The Bulls PR work capitalised on the biggest trade of the season as they flooded social media networks with Vucevic content, ensuring all fans were aware of the news. Chicago traded for other pieces such as Daniel Theis from Celtics and Troy Brown Jr from Wizards on the same day and only made single posts to announce their acquisitions, allowing the focus to be on the star signing of Vucevic as they know that is what will gain more interest and views. Chicago used an initial visual which was spread across social media consisting of multiple pictures of Vucevic with his name in the franchise red and white colouring, planting him as a member of the Bulls. The image is clear in its message it wants to communicate as the phrase “Welcome to Chicago” addresses the post immediately and creates overwhelming excitement for Chicago fans.
The trade: The Chicago Bulls made a major improvement at the centre position by landing Vucevic who will offer them a much needed second scoring option behind Lavine that they can consistently rely on. Although Lauri Markkanen and Coby White bring scoring to the team, the pair are young and inconsistent which wasn’t enough for Chicago to be a serious playoff threat. Not only will Vucevic bring offensive power to the team, but his experience and veteran presence will help unlock the potential of the Bulls young core.
After only two and a half seasons, the Bulls decided to part ways with their young centre Wendell Carter Jr. Chicago selected Carter Jr with the seventh pick in the 2018 draft in hopes of drafting their centre for the future. The 21 year old displayed promising signs in his rookie and sophomore seasons highlighted by his ability to block shots. After showing no improvement this season and being limited at the offensive end of the court it was clear Chicago needed more fire power to become competitive in the eastern conference. There is no denying Carter Jr’s defensive capability which is highlighted by his elite shot blocking ability and interior presence, an area Orlando Magic needed improvement in as they add another young defensive centre to their roster alongside Mo Bamba. Orlando also received forward Otto Porter Jr alongside two first round picks, while parting ways with Al-Farouq Aminu to finalise the deal as they look to rebuild their roster and invest in youth.

A Troy Otto smut Imagine
Because I got so many requests for Troy I figured it’s finally time to sit down and write some! Warning: smut Love Selina

Tumblr media
Of course Maddison and the rest of the Clarks wasn’t happy about her hanging around with Troy, but she couldn’t help it. He acted so different around her and when he had captured her weeks ago  together with her “family” he had never aimed to harm her in any kind of way. Maddison was afraid he could hurt her regardless of that but even she must have noticed the way she looked at the tall man and finally had asked her smiling: "It's really serious between you two then?" And she had nodded. She was had over heels on love with Troy Otto. A man who had tried to kill the only family she had left in this broken and chaotic world. But she didn't care. It felt too go when she was with him. Too real. Everything she had ever dreamed of...
And what he did to her…inside and out of his bedroom. Giving her one orgasm after another. Using his fingers...using his lips...using his tongue. He was driving her crazy. He revealed a side of her she had no idea existed.
She had been nervous at first...afraid she wouldn't be able to satisfy him in the way he needed it. But he had shown her how he liked it, what she had to do, how to use her hands, how to move her head, where to touch him. Her looking up to him with an innocent look while he was inside her mouth had never failed to drive him over the edge before and yet he wanted more.
Troy had never forced her to do anything she didn't want to do but she was able to feel that he grew more and more impatient.
Right now Y/N was laying on Troy's bed in his small bedroom, or rather she was laying on him.
Troy was reading in his notebook while her chin rested on his naked chest and her fingers drew small circles up to his neck and back to his nipples.
She was wearing his favourite set of dark blue underwear -the only nice pair she had left- and had put on the button-down shirt he had been wearing the entire day. The young woman caught herself from time to time how she pulled the open sleeves over her hands and took his sent in from them. The masculine scent of his paired with a slight bit of sweat and his very own peerless flavour. She got drunk on it.
He had picked her up from her work on one of the fields and as soon as they had entered the bedroom he had given her a soft, playful smack, telling her to take her clothes of before they made laid down.
She placed a sweet kiss on his chest and tasted his skin while she watched him reading. His blue eyes moving from side to side, his eyebrows narrowed in concentration and his lips slightly opened. Without hesitation she reached out with one hand and let her fingers roam over the soft stubbles on his cheeks.
She took her hand back and turned her head to the side to rest her left ear on his chest. At the sound of his steady heartbeat she closed her eyes and felt how her heart joined his rhythm after a while.
He had changed her. She was more confident and at the same time more self-critical. She felt desirable and yet not attractive enough. He made her feel special and extraordinary. There was a Y/N Y/L/N before and one after meeting Troy Otto.
She felt his crotch against her core through his jeans and the fabric of her panties. And just the knowledge of her being so close to him made her centre vibrate and she pushed her legs closer together to make it stop.
She was ashamed to admit it but since she had met him she had been aroused for every single hour of each day. Of course she had tried to get off by herself but her fingers had lost all of their charm against what Troy was able to do.
And she was sure he'd be able to do much more if she let him... Why was she so afraid? And what was she afraid of? He had never hurt her before...
When she was laying alone in her bed at night all she was able to think about was him inside of her. What it would be like? How it would feel? Was it as good as everyone was saying?
She wanted to be close to him. Closer than she had been to anyone ever before!
And before she could drop her decision again she crawled upwards and slipped her head through his arms which were holding the notebook.
Troy didn't seem surprized as she gently rubbed her nose against his, their lips almost touching. "You're relaxed enough, love?", he asked smirking before his teeth started nibbling at her lower lip. "Hm", she whimpered against his lips before he captured hers hungrily. Y/N moaned against his warm tongue and squeaked when his hands cupped her bum cheeks, pushing her closer against him. Her body tensed and the heat inside of her started aching.
"Troy", she panted. "Yes?", he eyed her questioning. "Sleep with me." "What?" "Have sex with me, Troy." "Here? Now?", he looked around surprized and she softly grabbed for his chin and turned his head back towards her: "Here. Now."
She didn't need scented candles or other frills. No special surroundings. No important day or hour. She needed him. She wanted him.
A smile formed on his lips and he quickly turned them around, their lips already moving against each other again. He started to unbutton the shirt she was wearing and kissed every inch of skin he revealed, leaving her as nothing but a moaning and whimpering mess.
She removed her bra herself so it was easy for him to just grab her breats and massage them with the exact pressure she needed. His thumbs rubbed over her nipples in fast movements so she bit her lower lip to hold back the screams that wanted to escape her.
Way to slowly he removed her panties and licked over her legs while doing so. He loved the picture she provided and knew he was stone-hard in his pants, the small space inside his jeans becoming more and more painful. But she had finally decided to give herself to him fully. This was about her. Not him.
He moved over her body again and buried his face in her core. An excited whimper left her lips when his hot breath hit her right where she needed him. He licked over her folds before he pushed his tongue so far inside of her wet centre his nose was rubbing over her sensitive clit.
It was too good to be true. Like everything else this man was giving to her.
When he was sure she was ready he moved up to her and captured her lips in a hot kiss. She could taste herself on his lips and although she wanted to pleasure him in the same way she was sure she'd explode if he let her wait much longer.
She opened his jeans and pushed it over his hips along with his shorts. This was all going so fast. Was faster than she had expected and at the same time it wasn't fast enough.
He watched her closely while rubbed his tip over her core and just the feeling of him down there made her moan out his name. "Troy..."
"Hm?" "I...I...", she stuttered and clenched his shoulders with his arms. She needed to feel him, to steady her. "Be gentle..." He smirked and captured her lips again as he slowly pushed inside of her. She screamed silently against his lips because of the pressure, her muscles tensed and she squeezed her eyes shut. He gave her time to adjust to his size until the pain had turned into pleasure and she had kissed him back hungrily. "Gentle enough?"
She had never felt anything comparable to this. Troy deep inside of her. Y/N felt full, like she was made just for him. This was right where she was supposed to be and nowhere else. She heat up again and her breath hitched. Her heart stopped for the blink of an eye when she opened her eyes again and looked up to Troy who made her feel like the most special person in the world.
"Troy", she exhaled and released the breath she hadn't realized she had been holding. As a respond he started to finally move a little inside of her which caught her up between pain and lust.
"You're so tight, Y/N", the man moaned against the crook of her neck: "Fuck..."
His words made her thoughts dizzy and she clutched his strong shoulders even harder.
He started a steady rhythm and pulled out almost completely before sliding into her again. Their bodies were covered in sweat and his thumb rubbed over her clit relentlessly.
Y/N felt too much. This was the only way to describe it. She couldn't deal with her senses and thoughts anymore the only thing she was able to do was to whimper his name over and over again as he got her closer to the end with every thrust.
His breath was shallow and he wanted to scream out just because how happy he felt. With this girl underneath him, he had to be the luckiest man on the entire planet.
He could feel her walls clench around him and told her to hold on a little longer before he grabbed for one of her legs which he moved over his shoulder.
He hit her deeper and deeper and without the chance of resisting much longer pleasure like she had never known it before rolled over her.
Her walls tightening around him even more send him over the edge as well and he came with a low growl inside of her. She felt his warmth filling her up and whined silently.
He pulled out of her and rolled over the her side. "This was...fuck..." She grinned. Unable to reply anything Y/N nodded and relished the feeling of his hands gently brushing through her hair before he kissed her innocently.
It took a while until her breath had steadied. She looked at him dreamy with a smile on her lips. "Thank you", she whispered and started to caress his neck with her fingertips. Every single body part still sensitive. "Thank you?" "Yes...for making this so good", she admitted and hid her face in his chest. Rubbing her lips against the salty skin. "You...uh...", she stuttered nervously: "I...this has been the first time for me..."
Although he had suspected it, it felt weird to actually hear it. This girl had given herself to him like she never had to anyone. He had been the first man to see her like this. And this thought alone already got him excited for the next round.
"I guessed so..." "Oh..." "So...uh...you liked it? Was it okay for you?", when suddenly another thought popped up in his head: "Did I hurt you?" Maybe he had been too rough with her for the first time?
"I'm fine, really", she giggled: "It was amazing! ...I didn't expect you to be this big..." "You better get used to it, love", he smirked: "You are addictive!" "And so are you", with these words she sealed their lips again and moaned into the kiss when he roamed his hands over her breasts again, making his cock twitch in anticipation.

'Fear the Walking Dead': Outgoing Showrunner Discusses Season 3 Finale, Season 4 Ideas
Sunday marked the end of an era on Fear the Walking Dead, as co-creator Dave Erickson's run on the show wrapped with the conclusion of the two-part season three finale. With his final Fear the Walking Dead story in the books, THR spoke to Erickson for one last look back at the zombie apocalypse, a glimpse into what he would have dreamed up for the future, and his thoughts on the news that the series he's departing will finally crossover with The Walking Dead proper in the near future.
Your run on Fear the Walking Dead is officially over. How does that feel?
It's bittersweet. I feel like we had a good season. I think we did good work. I think we found something of a rhythm. The irony is that I see season four more than I saw season three, and I had a pretty good sense of season three. There are some things we laid into these last few episodes that I would love to see play out. I would love to see Ray McKinnon's Proctor John as our big bad going into season four. There are a lot of things I'm curious about. It's a little bit... it's sad to say goodbye. It will be interesting to see what Scott, Andy and Ian do going into season four, and what's hopefully a much longer run.
And just to be clear, even though you have ideas for season four, you don't expect those ideas are necessarily where the show is going to go next? Have you discussed any of your thoughts with the new showrunners?
God, no. That's the bittersweet part. When you're so invested in a story, you have a pretty clear sense of the characters. There are elements, even going back to the pilot, of the show that I would have seen arcing out until probably even season seven. I think it will probably be completely different. It will be its own thing. I'm sure it will be equally great. But I have not had any conversations with the guys about direction. It's time for them to take it and run with it.
In terms of your ending of Fear the Walking Dead and knowing where you wanted to take them in the grand scheme of things — where did you take them? When you think about the ideas you wanted to express in a theoretical seventh season, do you feel like your final run was able to touch on some of those thoughts?
Yeah. What was crucial to me was to draw a line in the sand between Nick and Madison, specifically. It was also important to tell a story about the rise of Alicia, and have her step out from her mom's shadow and become her own person and achieve a level of independence, which I think Alicia the character did and Alycia the actor played beautifully. The goal was, thematically, that this was going to be an exploration of violence this season. We talked a lot in the room for the first couple of seasons about Cormac McCarthy and Blood Meridian, and I think Ray McKinnon's character is very much our version of the Judge. I don't know if he's coming back. It would be interesting to see what happens to Proctor John in the future.
Fundamentally, it's about getting to a place where Madison returns to herself. She starts the season with an attitude of violence and a willingness to do whatever it takes to protect her family. It's ingrained in her based on her childhood and things she's had to do when she was a kid. There's a passing of the baton, going from the midseason finale into the midseason premiere, where Nick took the gun and put down Jeremiah Otto. That's largely the reason why she doesn't kill Troy in episode nine. She's a bit spun out by her son becoming her, effectively. It concerns her. She tries to offer some degree of charity and benevolence by freeing him. What she comes to realize and the audience was already well aware of, we get to the penultimate episode and realize Troy was the one who compromised the ranch and his actions were indirectly about to place the dam in danger, it's now time for him to go. She realizes that if she had just done what she should have done in episode nine, they would still be on the ranch. This idealized version of what that life would be [that she sees glimpses of throughout the finale] would have been realized. She comes back to herself.
In doing that, Madison really defines Nick. He's been in a strange and surreal relationship with Troy for the past several episodes. He's willing to abide by him. He's willing to guide him. He's willing to prevent him from killing. But he doesn't want to put him down. When Madison kills him, I think Nick takes it personally. He sees it as a failure. He also realizes that Madison's way of life is something he can't endorse. In the finale, he tries to find a third way. He tries to find a way that's going to take the thing that everyone's willing to fight for, the thing that begets the violence — this resource of water — and blow the dam, share the water, so there's no reason to fight and draw blood, and save his family. If he has to sacrifice himself in the process, he's okay with that. That's his idea of an option. It's not pacifistic, but in his mind, it's nonviolent.
The final moments of the finale focus squarely on Madison. We don't fully know what happens to Nick, Alicia, Daniel or Strand — they could all be swept up in the explosion, for all we know. Did you want to leave yourself room to imagine their fates were ambiguous? Is there a version of this story where Nick is dead in your mind, for instance?
Well, you could take it in any direction. There was a version of the story where Troy didn't die. But when I realized I was moving on, the story we were telling about the Clarks and the Ottos, I wanted to finish that story. It's something that could have extended into season four and beyond, but not knowing what that was going to be, I wanted to close that door and end the Otto conversation and that narrative and see how it would impact Madison and Nick specifically. So in my mind, there's a version of the story where everyone bands together, unified, with one common enemy: Proctor John. In that version, the death of Lola would have had a huge impact on Salazar. Having lost Ofelia, Lola became his surrogate. That would have been something to explore. But in any version, Nick survives. There was definitely more story I had for Nick and Madison and Alicia. I would want to keep that core Clark family going for a while long. I'm sure the guys will.
When we spoke after the midseason premiere, you mentioned you were able to cross some items off of your zombie apocalypse bucket list in this final stretch of episodes. What are some examples?
I wanted Madison to return to herself. I wanted to create this very defined chasm between Nick and Madison, because I think the long-term arc of that story would have ended in a confrontation between mother and son. I wanted to blow up the dam. That's something we scouted in season two when we were looking at the desert sequences between Dayton Callie and Mercedes Mason, and that was the first time we drove by the Rodriguez Dam, and that became a goal as a set piece and the key representation of this great resource for the season. I knew I wanted the dam to blow. I was excited and looking forward to that.
But the thing of it was, I very much wanted to bring everyone back together. The original intention was to have Salazar, Strand, Madison, Nick, Alicia and possibly Troy in one version, and have them all as a very motley dysfunctional crew of survivors, and give them a common goal. That was one version. But it's interesting. From an emotional and thematic standpoint, I brought it pretty much where I wanted to, and set up some questions for moving forward. Strictly in terms of plot, and who survives and doesn't survive? It was designed in a way to leave the door open so the new guys can do what they want to do.
If you had continued on with the show, who were the characters in your mind that would still be standing by the very end of the story? Who would have lived through your version of the series finale?
For me, Madison. The thing that's interesting to me, and one of the questions I asked myself and asked Robert Kirkman very on was of the people in our group, who do you see becoming the Governor? Of our group, who could become a Negan? That's interesting to me, to watch an evolution of a character and start with them as a hero, and bleed that into antihero, and bleed that into full-on villain. It would have been interesting. In terms of the final conflict within the family, it would have been key. For me, there's a lot left for Madison specifically.
There would always be tension between Strand and Salazar, especially given that Strand shot Salazar in the face. (Laughs.) Ruben asked me once, "What happens to me? Ofelia's gone, and he just shot me in the face. What now?" And I said, "Look, there's a greater good you guys could serve moving forward. There's a narrative version where you could justify those guys remaining side by side. But that said, there would always be mistrust: 'You shot me and left me to die. When's the other shoe going to drop?'" It'll be interesting to see of those two, which one will survive ultimately. In Daniel, you have someone who knows how to kill and operate in this world and is willing to do whatever it takes. Then you have a Strand, who when he's forced into violence, which is again hanging that on the larger thematic spine, he doesn't do it well. It disturbs him. That's the thing: his line is that "it's the worst thing that ever happened to me," and after he's shot a man in the face, he's thinking about the way it's rocked him and upset him. It's an interesting moment for Strand. He's a master manipulator. He can talk and strategize, but he's not a man of violence, which I find ultimately interesting. Madison in this story is a woman of violence. She can embrace that and re-embrace that. It's something Nick ultimately can't abide. He loves his mother and he's willing to sacrifice for her and Alicia, and there's a certain tragedy in that. He doesn't want to go to that same place anymore.
It was revealed recently that The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead will crossover in some capacity in the near future. I know there were early designs to thread Fear the Walking Dead together with the CDC, so from your perspective, I'm sure this is a long time coming. Are you excited about the crossover, or at all disappointed that you won't be involved in finally making it happen?
I am intrigued to watch as a fan to see how the hell they pull it off. (Laughs.) By design, you have two shows that are hopefully very different tonally. That was the intention, coming out of the gate. It'll be interesting. You have to blend those two tones together in an organic way. And then there are all the reasons we discussed not doing it: the timeline, the geography... so it's interesting to see how those elements are bridged. I'm sure they have a plan locked in, because I think they'll start shooting soon. I wouldn't say I'm disappointed to not be part of it, because I think there's ample story in the Fear world to sustain the show without having to crossover — but it should be interesting...
Clearly, Taqa Walker is showing up in Alexandria, right?
I certainly hope so, because Michael Greyeyes is awesome, and Justin Rain, who plays Crazy Dog aka Lee, is also awesome. That's the exciting thing. There are so many elements. Luciana is still out there. There are a lot of characters you could thread into the world. It's kind of a candy store for those guys. There are 17,000 characters on Walking Dead, and now they have a bunch of other characters from the southwest they can integrate. It'll be cool.

How Fear the Walking Dead Treated Travis Manawa is Unforgivable
Tumblr media
Let’s talk about Fear the Walking Dead and Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), which ultimately ties into the series’ representation of Brown characters and the following article: Where showrunner, Dave Erikson, talks about the former plans for Travis and the crap reason behind giving him the boot. Just because you’re a fan of a series doesn’t mean you can’t analyze and call out its biases, right? I hope not, because with the way FTWD sidelines the majority of their Brown characters, I foresaw this unwanted moment coming. Spoilers ahead.
Initially set in cities like Los Angeles, Mexicali and Tijuana—what started off as an appealing majority-minority series, dwindled into an apocalypse of white privilege and favoritism. Regardless of the Season 3 arc centering around the reclaiming of Native American land and the loss of privilege in a post-apocalypse world, there were still some issues I began to pick up and even predict. So, when Travis, one of the few main characters of color who lasted up until the third season premiere of FTWD, met his demise, I had an honest question I figured I already knew the answer to: Was it justified?
I was bothered by Travis’ immediate death. Not only because he was my favorite character, but because lead Native characters in any genre were extremely rare. Although FTWD is trying to change that, he was easily checked off like plenty of the other Brown characters. He was the only Māori character in the series and frankly, it was my first time hearing about the indigenous race; so I loved him even more for that reason. Naturally, I rooted for actors of color fighting to get a quarter of shine in a white dominated industry, but I especially cheered for him because the FTWD writers decisively killed off his immediate family early into the series. His ex-wife, Liza Ortiz (Elizabeth Rodriquez), who was a brown Latina was the first to go, and their biological son, Chris Manawa (Lorenzo James Henrie), was next. After the death of his mother, Chris became mentally unstable, violent and made poor choices that eventually got himself killed. In addition, there were a bit of unfair push back and double standards toward Chris from the fandom. Writers and fans demonized Chris for his wearing mental state, but the same fans questionably attempted to understand Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman) while the writers try to make him digestible by giving him a sob-backstory. Despite being a white supremacist suffering from mental distress as well, it’s evident that the main characters that were once so terrified of Chris remotely feel threatened by Troy.
Up until the latter episodes of the second season, Travis became the minority token among his second wife, Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), and her two children from a previous marriage. I was hoping Travis wouldn’t be next to disappear just like the others. So, as soon as Travis died, I had a feeling his death would parallel the same times black men were killed off in FTWD’s core series, The Walking Dead. Shortly afterward, he was replaced by another Native character named Qaletaqa Walker (Michael Greyeyes). Boom—there was my answer. Don’t get me wrong, I was more than happy that there was another Native character with an even greater storyline, but Travis has no reason to die the way he did. It only proved to me that “The Rule of Three” was a racist policy that had not yet been ruled out in 2017 and crossed over into television. “The Rule of Three” is a preconception, especially in the comic industry, that if there is more than three main characters of a specific race in a series, it suddenly “belongs” to that group of people. Even if FTWD doesn’t limit their poc count to three, they still have a limit (The Walking Dead surely does, and it’s why a person of a specific ethnicity disappears or is killed off when another is introduced). Despite relatively recent studies that prove black people watch more TV and Asians spent more on movies and more time on media, it’s still deemed wrong to centralize people of color because writers prioritize white consumers. It’s racist and biased nonetheless but it’s a “rule” we can look further into in another discussion.
Of course, the showrunners wouldn’t admit to that, so I desperately searched for a reassuring answer. That’s when I happened to stumble across the article mentioned in the opening paragraph, but it made things more complicated and inexplicably racist. Why? Because if it is true, Travis was just a tool used to prop up Madison; the woman I knew would be lead lady because of her race. Since the significant rise of female leads in media, studies show that majority are only offered to white women. Now, we suddenly have this bizarre idea that killing off men of color in the name of white feminism is acceptable and equivalent to killing off just any man. Newsflash: It isn’t. Black men have had targets on their backs in horror/thriller genres and the same applies for other non-black people of color when tokenized in similar situations. It’s no different than the Women in Refrigerators trope, because Travis was used as a sacrificial lamb to motivate Madison’s story the same way women have been used for their male counterparts for years. When there isn’t a woman to spare for a male, there’s a man of color to spare for a white woman (e.g. NETFLIX’S DAREDEVIL SPOILER: The lone man of color (a black man) was strangled to death for Karen’s selfishness in Daredevil is a perfect example of this. Because he is dead it adds more to her story). Either way, this is a fresh problem that has begun to reoccur, but it needs to be addressed before it becomes the new WiR. Typically, men of color are rarely on par with white leads (male or female) in media. Now, if it does happen to become a trend, I suggest we coin it the “Choked out Journalist” trope (CoJ). FTWD adamantly proved to us that Madison would walk     to the moon and back if it meant keeping her favored son, Nick (Frank Dillane), alive. So why not kill him off to make her story more riveting? When it came to the selection of killing off a white male or Maori man in a show’s predicament, the Maori man was chosen and I find it more than a coincidence that Walker, another main  Native character, was introduced shortly afterward.
This post isn’t to say that people of color shouldn’t die or be killed in films/TV shows ever; leads of color just shouldn’t be killed irregularly or killed for the sole purpose of being replaced by someone of the same ethnicity. For instance, we see this replacement done again with Luciana (Danay Garcia) and Ofelia (Mercedes Masohn) who both portray Latina women. However, their exit and entrances are done differently. When Luciana is brought to Broke Jaw Ranch, she is slowly given less dialogue and less involvement. She remains by Nick’s side until she conveniently suggests going to Mexicali. At this point, Ofelia had been missing the entire first half of Season 3 due to unknown circumstances. But when she happens to reappear, Luciana leaves the ranch in the same exact episode. There was no real critical reason behind it. She just easily leaves Nick; the number one love of her life. This action only proves to me that showrunners don’t want “too much” of the same race on their television show. That, ladies and gentlemen, is racist.
Writing characters of diverse backgrounds shouldn’t be done with such a tongue-in-cheek manner, because all it does is bait. Main characters of color should be able to be brought in without the need to sacrifice another. They should be developed and written with care just as their white counterparts would be. Overall, Travis, would have been an interesting addition to this season’s arc, considering that he is also of Native descent.
Fear the Walking Dead, Season 3A rating: 1.5/5 stars

Big Game Hunting: Trading for Kawhi
TL Summary: Wizards have golden opportunity to be front-runners for Kawhi and class of the East. They need to act now
_______
As it has been rumored for a long, long time, Lebron James is officially an L.A. Laker. Since James has partnered with Wade/Bosh and Kyrie/Love, he has ruled the Eastern Conference. The Celtics and 76ers are now clearly the frontrunners, with teams like the Raptors, Bucks, Pistons and Wizards hoping for everything to break right for them to get to the Eastern Conference Finals at best.
Before Lebron announced his decision to head West for the first time in his career, there were only 4 teams considering making a run at another top 5 talent in the league, Kawhi Leonard. Two of those teams - the Lakers and the 76ers, were reportedly discussing trades with the Spurs mainly to get Lebron’s attention (or keep it, as the Lakers continued pursuit does). The other two teams - the Celtics and Clippers - were big game hunting, but both were without or unwilling to include the assets the Spurs were looking for.
That’s another note that makes the Kawhi situation interesting: What do the Spurs even want? It’s been reported that they have no interest in rebuilding, but they also have asked for a plethora of draft picks in stipulated trade talks. From what I gather, they want to compete (whatever that realistically means in the West) as long as Popovich is still coaching, while simultaneously setting themselves up for the future. In most cases, if your former best players have retired or are well on their way there, and your current best player wants out, you rebuild. You look to the draft and get off all your long-term contracts, while finding young players who could turn into your next franchise gem - or clear enough money so that you can sign him instead. But they want to go the Pacers route - retool, no matter who comes and goes - as their recent Rudy Gay and Marco Belinelli signings show. I have no doubt the Spurs can make it work, considering what they were able to accomplish last year without Kawhi.
Now that Lebron is westward, the 76ers seem to have cooled on their pursuit of Kawhi - though I think they would be wise to actually heat it up - and the Celtics never seemed to have their hearts in it anyway. The Lakers and the Clippers are all that is left, mostly due to Kawhi’s expressed desire to be back in his hometown. The Clippers have less assets now that we’re in post-draft season, and the Lakers are being hard bargainers. But why isn’t there a team like the Thunder last year, who is looking to take a huge chance for a superstar who can turn your franchise around if everything goes right?
Enter the Wiza… oh, nevermind. Through the experience of knowing who Ernie Grunfeld and Ted Leonsis are, no one counts the Wizards into the Kawhi equation. Everyone knows that Kawhi isn’t coming to D.C., so all the attention was on re-signing Mike Scott and maybe Ty Lawson or whatever.
… but as free agency has been passing the Eastern conference by and rumors continue to swirl around the Kawhi Leonard very-not-fun-sweepstakes, I’m asking myself: Why not D.C.?
_______
The Wizards are good. I think that’s hard to remember sometimes because they’re ran like a very mediocre franchise that has no interest in being GREAT. The Summer of 2016 ruined so many possibilities, and not many moves afterwards have been able to get the fanbase out of the disbelief that this team is 2nd (or 1st) round fodder. But they are good. And young. And they likely have a longer contention window than the Raptors and Heat and higher potential than the Bucks and Pistons. They continue to be right on the cusp of contendership, if things break right and fall into place (or some other star’s leg breaks). Well, the only opportunity for things to break right seems to be right now, and the Wizards have the ultimate chance to make things fall into place. So I present:
The San Antonio Spurs trade Kawhi Leonard to the Washington Wizards for...
Scenario 1:
The Small-Fundamentals
Wizards Send: Otto Porter ($26,011,913), Tomas Satoransky ($3,129,187), Troy Brown ($2,749,080), 2019 1st Round Pick (Top 5 Protected)
Spurs Send: Kawhi Leonard ($20,099,189), Patty Mills ($11,571,429)
Reasons this works for the Spurs:
Coming off the extremely un-Spursian situation with Kawhi, the Spurs get 3 smart, low-key young players to add to their core. There’s a lot of high BBIQ in this trio, and I’m sure Pop will be excited to develop these steady, 26-and-under-still-with-upside players who can (mostly) contribute to a winning team right now. The first round pick allows them get even younger, or use it to get another asset to help the win-now mentality.
Reasons this works for the Wizards:
They get Kawhi, a top 5 player to join Wall and Beal to make an all-star trio with as much immediate upside as any in the Eastern Conference. Kawhi likes to play a lot of Iso, Wall is only really useful with the ball in his hands, and with Beal’s recent affinity for… dribbling a lot, this isn’t a perfect fit. But it’s a massively talented one, with a clear pecking order and defined strengths among the three. D.C. has a coach that depends on his stars to ISO their way to victory, and there are few players better than that then Kawhi. (See the synergy numbers posted by @colezwicker. When Kawhi is healthy, he’s fantastic at everything here). The end of game option becomes Kawhi and Kawhi only, which allows coach to continue to be uncreative with his end of game offensive sets, as he’s one to be.
Patty Mills provides shot-making, range and ball-handling in spades. Having a dude who can hit stepbacks, shoot off movement and pull up for 3s will be a very welcome sight for a team that only has one player who can create at that level - Bradley. New-comer Austin Rivers has some of that ability as well, but Mills is the much better, more efficient version of him, and might be the harder one to move in a trade due to his contract. Wizards could look to trade Rivers because of the redundancy, or keep a hyper-offensive oriented backcourt off the bench. I know it usually hurts Wizards fans to think about giving up first round picks - it’s been done too many times before with reckless abandon - but the 2019 draft class is projected to be pretty weak in comparison to the last few and the next two, so if there was ever a time to strategically use that asset, it’s now.
The Money:
The money is pretty even for next year, making it a wash for both franchises in the short-term. The Spurs get off of Mills contract, which runs through the 2020-21 season. The Wizards get a rather expensive but reliable G in Patty, that they should happily take if it comes along with The Klaw.
Scenario 2:
Star Sample
Wizards Send: Bradley Beal ($25,434,263), Kelly Oubre ($3,208,630), Jason Smith ($5,450,000)
Spurs Send: Kawhi Leonard ($20,099,189), Danny Green ($11,571,429)
Reasons this works for the Spurs:
Bradley Beal is a better player than any other being talked about in Kawhi trades. He doesn’t offer quite the tantalizing potential of Jaylen Brown, Markelle Fultz or Brandon Ingram (or the rookie scale salary, either) but that’s only because he’s already a star. Not a superstar, but he proved last season that he could do a lot to lead a team’s offense while Wall was out for half of the year. He just turned 25, made a great leap last season - showing his passing/vision and off-the-dribble skills more than ever - and was asked to do that in Scott Brook’s Iso heavy system. In the Spurs setup, with a lot less pressure on him due to being next to LaMarcus Aldridge and the other shooters the Spurs have, Beal’s life would get a lot easier in San Antonio and might allow him to reach his very highest potential.
Kelly Oubre doesn’t seem exactly like the usual Spurs cup of tea, but they’ve shown that they are able to make the most of most players, and being in a structured system like theirs might do a lot for the soon to be restricted free agent. He could backup Rudy Gay at the 3 or step in as the starter there if they want some young, athletic legs in their to run with Dejounte Murray (and Beal, of course). And throw in Jason Smith to help the Wizards Cap situation, getting them under the tax for the time being. The Spurs have a knack for making use of unathletic big men who can shoot, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they make Smith look serviceable in a way Scott Brooks never could - or wouldn’t try to.
Reasons this works for the Wizards:
Kawhi, again. And Danny Green is still a terrific defensive player that can knock down a good clip from 3 point range - 36.3% on 4.6 attempts last year. He was also one of the guys in the Spurs locker room who was defending Kawhi throughout the season no matter what story the media got their grubby hands on or made out of thin air. He definitely never escalated the situation like the Spurs old (hall of fame) timers did. Hopefully there’s goodwill and friendship there. Green can step in as the starting 2 guard, or be a great option for your first wing off the bench. This also gives the Wizards two players - Leonard and Wall - who have so much gravity that there should be no excuses for Otto not to take 8 3s a game.
Does this mean Kawhi or Otto starting at the 2? I don’t know. I think it will be fine either way - Otto has shown that he is a good guard-defender when healthy, and Kawhi can guard anyone. In the best scenarios, this would mean Otto plays more 4 in important stretches of the game. Wall-Green-Leonard-Porter Jr-NERLENS NOELDwight Howard? That is some defense.
The Money:
The Wizards save a little over $2.4 million on this one, bringing them below the luxury tax. San Antonio makes a big salary commitment to Beal, but he’s worth every cent in today’s NBA. Having him locked in through the 2020-21 season along with having matching rights to Oubre’s unrestricted free agency next year are big pluses for them. Jason Smith comes off the books after this season, as does Danny Green.
Scenario 3:
Break the Glass In Case of Emergency
Wizards Send: Bradley Beal ($25,434,263), Otto Porter ($26,011,913), 2020 2nd Round Pick
Spurs Send: Kawhi Leonard ($20,099,189), Danny Green ($11,571,429), Pau Gasol ($16,800,000)
Reasons this works for the Spurs:
All the reasons I listed above for Beal and Otto. Getting two, just turned 25, super talented wings who are locked in for 3 more seasons is a great foundation to lay. If the Spurs want to compete in Pop's last years, this is the way to do it. There's not a better win-now offer on the table than this one. And there will never be one. Not even a trade centered around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown (not happening, btw) offers this much assurances to help the Spurs win in the very near future.
Reasons this works for the Wizards:
This might seem drastic. It's the By-Any-Wings-Necessary plan - the one you offer if some other team swoops in with a drastically better offer than what's been discussed so far. If that happens, I don't think it's a bad gamble to make. John Wall's Supermax kicks in next year, and it's really untenable to have him, Beal and Otto on the roster all making upwards of $27 million, even with the increase in salary cap over the next few years. This is the last ditch effort, swing for the fences offer that doesn't leave too much of a down side
Consider the Possible Outcomes:
1 - Kawhi comes here, is healthy, balls out next to Wall, they are the 2nd or 3rd best team in the East. Even in a series against the Celtics, the Wizards have 2 out of the Top 3 players in the series (I would definitively say they have the Top 2, but I understand lots of people would take Kyrie over Wall). That's giving yourself a real shot. If he bolts for the Lakers, you tried. If he loves it here and him and Wall become best friends, you have a repeat of the OKC Thunder situation, but with more cap-room, younger star players, in an easier conference. Dreams coming true
Or,
2 - Kawhi isn't healthy or hates it here and doesn't get to his peak level. You tried, it didn't work out, Kawhi leaves and you've got lots of cap space next summer to build around Wall again (that's also why it's important to keep Troy Brown, Oubre, Sato and all first round picks in this scenario - because this could end very badly)
Pau can be helpful for a year with his passing, shooting, and leadership. Even if he isn't his contract is only partially guaranteed for next year. Him and Green (can) come off the books after this season. Go get O'Quinn, Len, Jonas Jerebko, Wayne Ellington or whoever you can fit on the books to fill out the roster. Sato, Oubre, expiring Markieff Morris are all pretty good assets to help fill the gaps as well. If the Spurs insist on putting Mills in the deal, send over Rivers expiring deal to even things out
The Money:
The Wizards save about $3 million, which is why I threw in the 2nd round pick to sweeten the deal fo SA. It gives the Wizards a ton of flexibility moving forward, and the chance to Max Leonard. Spurs get the stability they want, with both Beal and Otto's contract running out around the same time Aldridge's does. _______
Why not the Wizards? While the Spurs are out here getting low-balled by the 6ers and Lakers, the Wizards have a chance to swoop in and take this - and themselves - seriously. The Celtics look monstrous but they are still young and have two stars with major health concerns. The 76ers are even younger and have less shooting than they did last year. These two teams are only going to get better, so the Wizards time is now. A big market team needs to let their fans big-market dream, and stealing the most undervalued generational player from their rivals (and Lebron) would restore so much of the faith they have lost.
In the Summer of 2016, The Wizard's front office showed they could think big with their pursuit of Kevin Durant and Al Horford. Now they have the opportunity to do a lot more than just think, or even dream it. It's time to come alive. The ball is in Ernie's court.
