anyway adam lawrence getting cleopatra in the game he plays with his family is both symbolism and foreshadowing because in antony and cleopatra by shakespeare, cleopatra dies to save her and her country's honour which is pretty similar to what happens to adam. it also doesn't help that as soon as he's promoted at the beginning of the series, his daughter gets kidnapped and instead of stepping down he continues to work in the position while actively choosing emotion over duty which is something well explored (and the cause of many deaths) in shakespeare's play
