stop censoring yourself it makes it impossible to block posts. I don't want to see a whole post about child pornography because you chose to write "p*rn" instead of calling it what it is. pretty ironic that you hate on ao3 so much even though it has a robust tag blocking system that prevents you from seeing content you don't want to, but you dont tag your posts, so i have to look at them no matter how triggering they are for me. thank you for that.
i know this is in reference to a post i made some time ago that has since been periodically reposted and recirculated repeatedly in bursts separate from the context of when i made it, and it isn't something i thought would be spread far from my own space.
while i do apologize for causing you stress as people apparently reblog chained it to you with equally blank tags, the post wasn't about any specific site and instead a criticism of the broader issue across the internet and multiple social medias, including this one.
i censor words like that out of habit for bot prevention, and figured it wouldn't get further than my usual circle of people who watch me chat about things.
every time that post circulates, i get an influx of people who say things like that i deserved to be abused, that i am making shit up, that my lived traumatic experiences are fit to be some voyeur's fantasy, and it does suck when this happens.
i could lock the post to reblogs, but it has also been pasted on other sites. the irony here that my very post exclaiming my frustration with people ignoring the boundaries i have has continually resulted in people ignoring my boundaries is not lost on me. that it crossed yours is also ironic.
i have other things going on in my life at the moment that aren't pleasant either, my main sentiment right now i guess is "i hope things get better"

Hey! Didn't you also work on a game? I remember you uploaded a demo at some point that I played. How has that been going? c:
yep! tho i have not been working on it recently and plan on redoing it on a different rpgmaker version. i did start redoing tilesets for it too. i have a few projects i'd like to do tho my brain has been Soup.
moondrops is one, and then i have a smaller bee-themed one about a small dragon named orchid and their friends. like moondrops, it's also based on a dream i had ages ago. (it gets weird but in a like. ohhh so that's what that is kind of way.)
another i'd like to do, and what i'll probably wind up doing, is a dream-walk sort of game where u play as a cat who is collecting flowers. u can get different cosmetics for the kitty to change their appearance thru completing events. first is their default look.

brat behavior aside its interesting that he went from this self-entitled guy with a god complex (idk the best description of how he is as scaramouche/kunikuzushi lol) who wants the world to know him, praise and kneel under his power, to this... person who simply fades into the background. how hyv tells about him sounds as if he doesn't see himself necessary to the world anymore, uncaring, a defined version of someone completely null and neutral to perspectives. just a wanderer passing by. and theres something bittersweet about that change as redemption even if he acts like a lil shit on it dhjshfhd
what's more prominent imo is scaramouche/wanderer has been in a cycle of metaphorical and literal self-destruction. he has repeatedly abandoned and reconstructed himself and it all started with his initial abandonment by ei which led to him fumbling his way thru figuring out how to exist as anything at all.
he learned how to breathe -manually-. him breathing at all is a courtesy done to try and blend in more, people aren't willing to converse with an obviously unliving doll. without any guidance, the kind of person kunikuzushi would become was framed by two things:
- his awareness of the fact that he was made to home a divine gnosis
- that he was declared inadequate for this purpose by his creator
thoughts get long/i went on a tangent so under the cut we go!
he may have eventually developed a god-complex in his pursuit of the unattainable, being "good enough" to suit the purpose he was made for, but the foundation of it all is in fact an inferiority-complex!
this is also present in his character trailer, where it ends with Wanderer approaching kuni, who is saying he wishes he had never been made at all, and essentially replies, "is that all?" Wanderer is willing to do what he's already done before, annihilate himself until it's "good enough".
he started off trying to appeal to humanity but ironically the implication seems to be that he's so sensitive to emotions that the heartbreak of repeat loss combined with him likening it to abandonment due to his own perceived inadequacy led to him choosing Full Nihilism. everything dies, so what does it matter? he is powerless to stop those close to him from leaving (dying) and interprets that as him lacking something and assumes then that he Needs to become whole somehow. the conclusion he comes to is that he needs to become a god and do away with any trace of humanity in himself, that that is his flaw and source of all his inadequacy, that he will finally be fulfilled and complete when he stops being an empty doll.
and to do that, he will annihilate himself over and over. part of the irodori festival event is learning that scaramouche has been destroying documents related to kunikuzushi. he doesn't want any trace of that life left and blackmailed families into fearing ever mentioning his name (sidenote, scaramouche was so emotional and attached to a human that he revenge-killed entire clans). then, as the fatui's balladeer, scaramouche abandoned just about everything and embraced the "reality" that teyvat is a huge lie. he then easily abandoned his role in the fatui, arguably betrayed them, to steal the gnosis for himself. which then leads to him agreeing with dottore to annihilate all of his memories and his identity if it means he gets to be a god.
like, the Traveler brings this up. that, in order to accomplish what the sages are planning, scaramouche will destroy his own mind and have it be replaced by whatever others will it to be, he'll stop existing. and he's fine with that, happy even. because all that matters is that he gets to hold the gnosis.
he may despise ei but he still idolizes her. if you bring raiden into the boss fight and scaramouche knocks her out, he exclaims in victory. he wants to prove her wrong, that he IS fit for the gnosis, for godhood. while i doubt the writers will ever adequately explore that thread, scaramouche's story is of an abandoned child who wants to prove their neglectful parent wrong but is doing so by the standards of said parent. which is impossible.
scaramouche did a lot wrong! he was definitely a villain and openly antagonistic and totally fine with taking part in killing people off! which is why i prefer they keep those rougher edges of his, but find it neat that they are also embracing how those destructive tendencies aren't just external but something internal as well.
the Traveler will likely keep butting heads with Wanderer, which i prefer! but also i do wonder if the Traveler will continue to pressure Wanderer to preserve the memory of who he'd been for once, to try and grow rather than reset. and Wanderer possibly choosing to let go of that impossible idea of "good enough" being godhood.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I've been reading Childish Anger ever since it was first written, and I'm still in love with it. Especially the first story in the series, you just characterize them so well, and your details and the way you visualize things is stunning. I've been re-reading it over the last 6 hours (I have not slept) and have frequently been sending rambles to a friend who knows nothing about it. I can send them to you too, if you want. I've been brainrotting over this for the last two years, and I just had to give you props. <3
ah thank u! i'm glad people still enjoy it, i had fun writing it. i love hearing people's thoughts on it tho i can't promise i'll always respond! i've been on and off sickly still and easily distracted, but i do still think of going back and finishing the second half.
i hope u have a good day!

If you enjoy Lies of P, I really recommend Bloodborne if you haven't played it yet!
i've actually played a good chunk of bloodborne before! made it a ways in before being distracted by nier automata i think... i have since tried to play it again but i think it doesn't like being on a newer console and i struggled to have as nice a time on it. memories of having to grind for heals also caught up to me, ow.
with lies of p im already midway thru new game+2 and haven't lost any momentum... the lack of a need to grind i think is a huge boon to it!

wait, sorry to bother but genuine question. what is the coffee thing indicative of? anxiety? the getting tired/sleepy bc of it i mean btw
consumption of caffeine making someone feel drowsy/relaxed is often related to that person having ADHD!
people who have anxiety tend to get More Anxious from caffeine.
when i was pretty small, my family got me an espresso as a treat (don't do this) and it made me pass out asleep in the car. and i have multiple relatives who do (officially on paper) have ADHD. so. while correlation doesn't equate to confirmation, my brain juices are up to something.

[last anon] yeah i agree! though with his drip marketing then im pretty sure there is that slight tinge of hope he's still the menace we all love about him (that damned smile). story-wise i kept myself out of it, and its not leaked in any way either, and im curious how they're gonna tell it in a way to "rebrand" him properly. its practically about giving him a fresh start with new perspectives and goals. and with raiden in the banners soon!!! got me far more questions if they're gonna involve her somehow!!!
so i was sittin on this and then 3.3 livestream happened and yea! looks like Wanderer is still a little bit of a pest! which im glad for, the Traveler could do with someone who sasses them back.
dunno how involved ei will be with the interlude story quest given yae miko is still struggling to get her Out of the House and like. ei's major character flaw is the inability to take responsibility. that is a consistent character flaw and issue with her. she puts the blame of the civil war and fatui plots getting so far on her shogun puppet, despite said puppet seeking her permission to allow those events to happen, which ei explicitly was aware of. if you have her as a companion, the Traveler can tell her that she needs to apologize to thoma for nearly ruining his life. she straight up doesn't believe that she needs to and, at the Traveler's insistence, relents only as far as saying she'll get the shogun puppet to say sorry.
so, with scaramouche, i do not see ei being able to fully grasp that his downward spiral was from her calling him weak and then locking him out of the house. yes, from her perspective she was doing him a mercy by not destroying him and hoping he may live, but he had zero guidance and a rooted belief that he was not only abandoned by his creator but that she left him because something was wrong with him. he was made in the image of ei's sister, makoto, and yet because he was full of empathy the way her sister was, ei likely got frightened that the same emotions that led to her sister sacrificing herself would doom the puppet.
also!! hey ei! beelzebul! wanna explain to the class on how and why you were using a forbidden technique to try and create artificial life? she may have customized it enough to not be fully heretical, kunikuzushi is referred to as a doll rather than an artificial human, but the basis for the puppets ei made stem from the forbidden research of the alchemist Gold. -that- alchemist? like they only briefly mention it but ei very much did take ideas from rhinedottir, which is!! nuts!!!
but, yeah! Wanderer looks like a really fun character to play and i am now hopeful that his arc is gonna be less "reconcile with ur creator uwu" and more him finding purpose and fulfillment through existing as himself.

from what i can tell from your condensed sumeru post it's been pretty complicated, is it? i've gone through the experience myself and aside enduring very long (but lore-rich) quests it's quite so-so if you glance away real-world matters 💀 what do you think?
i think sumeru is trying to introduce a whole lot all at once, both in terms of story and gameplay, and a recurring thing im hearing from people i play with is that it feels exceptionally long.
in terms of gameplay and story quest chores, i'd actually put it on par with liyue's. you're ultimately doing normal rpg stuff! talk to a bunch of dudes, meet new dudes, fetch an item to go do a thing while you get info-dumps on how the world works.
but, i also think sumeru is an extension of some of the concepts we saw introduced in inazuma only its been turned up even further.
gets long so, gonna put a cut:
in inazuma, if you explore all the islands and pay attention to found notes and books, you learn that inazuma was actually multiple cultures that were then (forcefully) put under the dominion of the electro archon. for its archon quests, you are witnessing an active civil war between watatsumi and narukami that is the culmination of centuries of built up ill-will and resentment towards the shogunate. the revolutionaries are sympathetic and you support their cause but ultimately the goal is to end the war before more people die.
inazuma used to have many other gods, but like everywhere else in teyvat, the archon war led to a huge upheaval of so many people as their gods were slain. the game acknowledges that there are people who really do not want to seek the guidance or protection of a god who slew their own!
we also saw a bit of this in liyue, with havria, the goddess of salt. descendants of her followers are still grieving her and blame the geo archon for her death and believe he has even tried to cover up how she died. it is known that rex lapis, morax, was a powerful war god and killed many others, tho in this one instance he was not involved in havria's death.
now, hopping into sumeru spoilers, so far in 3.0 they are establishing that sumeru also once had many many more gods, and that the desert gods in particular were known to both be man and beast (accurate for the egyptian gods! that was kinda their whole deal, and it's not a new concept in genshin where inazuma had many animal deities and liyue has the illuminated beasts).
but, like elsewhere in teyvat, these gods died out and were replaced by the dendro archon. there is already reason there for there to be a divide in the people, we have already seen a nation where some just do not want to accept the dominion of an archon.
only sumeru goes a step further! the akademiya has also established itself as a controlling power, more-so after the death of the previous dendro archon during the cataclysm. and they have -forbidden- the discussion of many topics outside of the academy! if you are not a scholar, you are not allowed to speak the name of some of the old deceased gods of sumeru.
akademiya scholars, styled after the romans, are only interested in retaining knowledge they deem "useful", and a driving force of the plot is them spreading propaganda that dreams are useless and tightly controlling the flow of information in sumeru. they do not believe traditional dance, art, or storytelling is "useful" and are clearly antagonists for it. they also tightly regulate what sort of technology is allowed to be used by common citizens. setting up a power grid so civilians can use electricity is forbidden, but it's allowed for private researchers if applied for. the development of machinery and robotics is heavily restricted, to be destroyed if people outside of the academy are dabbling. etc.
now that we have that set up, it makes complete sense that the eremites, the many clans and nomadic people of the desert, Do Not Like This. people are diverse and like many other groups we see in genshin these people have internal disagreements of their own. we are introduced to eremites who eek out a living by co-existing with the new order of sumeru, being sellswords or continuing their crafts and keeping to themselves. there are bands like the bandits we've fought everywhere else in the game, and their motivations are similar, "making a living the new "normal" way sucked so now im just gonna steal". but like it's a wide spread and genshin has portrayed thieves as misguided and even sympathetic at times.
but, there is also a group who so strongly oppose the academy and the dendro archon that they are willing to go to pretty violent means. and they are likely being enabled by organizations that will profit from the chaos, something we also saw in inazuma with the fatui actually selling weapons to the resistance.
and the thing is too that the eremites are ultimately also presented as sympathetic! they are being told their way of living isn't allowed and the very names of their gods is only acceptable in a controlled environment that treats them as statistics and curiosities!
so while i am still upset by playable character representation and what kind of slip ups the writers will have with the second half of sumeru's story, ultimately the overall trend is "people are diverse and that should be embraced"
and that's just all the stuff the main archon quest has brought up! there's still a whole ton of other world developments going on with the aranara and the hidden robot quests that im still digging thru.
so, yeah, sumeru has a lot! i think it is pulling from the entire SWANA region AND also tying in other influences like greece and rome, which makes it very dense. there are so many references to so many things. it's a lot to unpack.

I discovered Miniaturia thanks to you and I finally installed the 1.12.2 mod. I spent two hours making a pretty kitchen. I have been playing Minecraft for 11 years and I've never been more in love with this game before now. I wish more people knew about this mod, it's beautiful
oh hell yeah! if you're a fan of miniaturia, i'd like to also recommend:
cocricot
https://cocricot.pics
and conquest reforged
https://conquestreforged.com/mod
cocricot is aimed at more modern design and interiors and has a higher texture resolution.
conquest reforged is heavily inspired by tolkein's middle earth with a lot of cool natural textures and fantasy themes.
for people who want cute decor but would rather not fight with comparatively bulky mods or complicated editor tools, i would also suggest trying out mizuno's CIT pack! CIT's use optifine but don't require a mod launcher as they're a resource pack and don't add custom blocks!

Now that it's relevant again, I just wanna say thank you for sharing those gifs of How to Eat Life and Night is Faint! You introduced me to Eve and I cannot express how grateful I am for that! That was an incredible rabbit hole to fall into and I'm still bopping to his jams on the daily. Thank you!
ah! im glad! eve's stuff is fun and im especially a fan of his music videos where they contract indie artists (like what was done for Night is Faint).
im actually kinda surprised there isn't more eve talk on tumblr in general. some of eve's original songs take place in the same setting. How To Eat Life is directly connected to Tokyo Ghetto story-wise, while still being really good standalone songs. Dramaturgy is also a classic... hmm <- (returning to the warren)

its been a few days and i still havent moved on from Xiao's PV because his had taken 2 years when it was unreleased before, compared the other early characters if i recall,, but i also find it interesting one of my friends said the PV is quite lackluster, on the reason that hes 'still suffering' i soon knew that hyv is just selling his misery, that part i would sorta agree. what are your thoughts on this and the PV?
i actually quite liked it! we haven't really gotten to see xiao's perspective of being around the human residents of liyue on his own, without the filter of how the Traveler's purification powers make it a bit easier for him to do his duties while they're around.
yeah, nothing really "happens" in the trailer if you're someone who has already played all of the story quests and prior events that involved xiao, or if you already know his character story. but the trailer has to be made in a way that lets people who have zero idea of who this character is get a glimpse without revealing everything that happens in the game. there isn't really anything they can bring up about him that doesn't spoil the fun reveals of quests that involve him.
so, why would xiao's introduction to people present him as a future self that is potentially perfectly fine versus the xiao who, when you meet him in the game, is as he's shown in the trailer? diligently fighting monsters, his chronic pain, and himself by himself while carrying on for the sake of the safety of the people he's pledged to protect. we also get to see people other than the Traveler try to offer him medicine, gratitude, and company.
and, if you have been around for previous lantern rite events or done the chasm quest, the funny thing is xiao is actually getting to have a nicer time. him getting closure and healing is something you're meant to see in the game, i prefer it when major development is actually something you experience within the story. calling his pv lackluster is strange to me too because it's got like. actual drawn combat animation.
do people call zhongli's introduction trailer lackluster because it doesn't reveal all of who he is and just shows him running errands? i wouldn't want zhongli's entire deal that we learn across many in-game quests to be spoiled by a single trailer.
