Sarah and I opened the Mac Pop-Up Cafe up along from Challacombe Farm. Todays menu included Salad, Minestrone soup with croutons, Brunswick ham and Cheddar cheese and of course, Hot chocolate. Whilst walking we managed to mainly dodge the rain storms blowing through but we caught some sustained super heavy rain driving home. Meanwhile, I have my mobile cooking system converted from gas cooking system to a minimal spirit burner system from Tatonka. First conclusion: definite space gain and thus more storage space in the bikepacking bag, because absolutely compact in my 750ml Esbit cooking pot stowable. In practical use, I was able to bring my water to a boil in under 4 minutes and thus indulge in coffee enjoyment quite quickly. Went certainly with the gas method at the highest level a little more nimbly, but I save myself in the future to take a bulky gas cartridge. The small spirit canister as well as the ultra-light Triangle from Trangia can be stowed anywhere quite easily. The bottom line is that I will probably remain faithful to the new acquisition for the time being and embellish my touring breaks with it.
