13 for the ask 💕
Hhhh I had to stop myself from making an entire one shot of this but Thor grabbing any chance he gets to kiss his brubber bc he loves him <i>so much</i> is such a soft thought 🥹 thank you for the prompt! I hope you'll like what I came up with 🥰
✵✵✵
1.
The weather was wonderful today and Thor had itched to get out since he woke up. So he rounded up his brother and his friends at breakfast and suggested they all go out on a small camping trip. Not too far. Just a couple hours to the east, where the mountains rise high and evergreen.
Loki grumbled a little, tried to get out of it, saying he had a lot of Prince-related stuff to do but Thor persisted and in the end his brother gave in with a tired sigh. Thor looked all around him, at his friends looking at their breakfast, discussing with each other, flirting with the servants and, at a moment he knew all of them to be distracted, held Loki's hand in his and raised it to his lips.
"Thank you," he murmured against soft skin, Loki's hand gripping Thor's for a moment before he slowly pulled away.
2.
Thor's and Loki's horses always had neighbouring pens. The wooden wall separating them had been replaced with a low fence long ago since they both got frustrated when they couldn't see each other. They had been raised together, Tordenvær and Skjult, just like their respective owners and sometimes it seemed like each other was the only company they needed.
As Thor readied Tordenvær, the red quilt looking rich and soft over her silky caramel coat, she bumped his side with her head before reaching over the low fence to where Loki was readying Skjult, vying for the bag hitched around his hips where she knew he kept their treats.
"You already got one. You'll have to be patient, dear," he laughed, taking a moment to scratch her nose before returning back to securing the black saddle over Skjult's deep green quilt.
"I don't blame her. You always have the best treats," Thor said, looking at his brother as he finally succumbed to Tordenvær's pleading and retrieved two treats from his bag, one for each horse.
"I just make sure I got wells of incentives for when they get stroppy."
Thor laughed.
"You mean when <i>Skjult</i> gets stroppy. Tordenvær is the best little girl."
Now it was Loki's turn to laugh.
"I do apologise, I obviously meant when Skjult gets stroppy and Tordenvær starts acting like a bullhead." With a smirk towards Thor, Loki added: "Just like her person."
Thor smiled and bit his lip—Loki looked gorgeous like this; in his dark riding leathers and his eyes sparkling with mischief. He looked around. The doors of the pens were both open and directly across him was Hogun, who was readying his own horse. Steps were coming down the narrow corridor and this all was very risky but…
Thor reached over the fence and pulled Loki towards him, giving him a quick kiss on the lips before pulling back. Fandral poked his head inside, looking at Thor first, before his eyes settled on Loki who looked surprised and was still half-leaning over the fence.
"Hey, Thor, Loki. Leli and I will be outside," he said, his expression doing something funny before returning back to its usual amiable daftness.
3.
They've been riding for more than an hour now, through open fields and under the Asgardian spring sun and even though he was just beside him, Thor felt as if he missed his brother.
They had fallen a little behind, the two of them, discussing softly and taking well-meaning jabs at each other, the rest of their party a good few yards in front of them. Sif was bickering with Fandral and Volstagg was laughing loudly at their back and forth while Hogun stayed silent but no less amused.
The itch in Thor's heart grew and grew until he couldn't take it any more and he led Tordenvær closer to Skjult's side. Wrapping a hand around Loki's forearm, he pulled him close, catching his lips as soon as Loki's head was turned towards him. It wasn't as easy to kiss while they were both on top of different horses, but their cantering was nearly synchronised, so it wasn't much of a hindrance.
Loki's lips were a bit chapped, a light sheen of clean sweat clung on his upper lip, but he still tasted like the sweets he'd been eating earlier, like brother and affection, and Thor would have continued kissing him if not for a loud guffaw breaking through their spell. Loki's gloved hand grabbed Thor's, still on his forearm. He pulled back, correcting his stance on the horse and looked at Thor half-scoldingly.
"What's got into you today, fool? Do you want them to find out?"
"Let them find out, I don't care."
Thor pulled him back into another quick kiss before he leaned back and away.
When he checked, their friends were still caught in Sif and Fandral's flirty bickering. They continued their journey to the east in silence, Loki looking at Thor in consideration before he reached out, took Thor's hand in his and kissed the palm of it tenderly. They didn't stop holding hands until they reached their destination an hour later.

Tordenvær Forlisteson
Should I post a little OC?
I came across the alleged character introduction I wrote for an old Pathfinder rpg. He was an Ulfen (ie Not-Viking) Sorcerer who acted like a Bard and fought like a Barbarian.
Old off the cuff writing after the “fold”.
Tordenvær Forlisteson
Eilif Ulfson looked back over his ship’s stern at the looming storm and hauled harder on the steer-board, steering them to port and the hope of reaching the shore before it was too late.
“Sterk! Toss the embers overboard! And stow the fire pan already! That storm isn’t going to wait for you!”
Sterk look aft at his captain and shrugged. The embers went overboard as Herger took down the metal rods and chains that had held the fire pan.
Herger kept looking fore as they tied down the pots and supplies.
“What’s so interesting Herger, you hoping to be the first to spy land?”
“The Forlistesons are cursed. We’ll see the bottom of the sea as long as that young fool is on board. Why’d the captain ever let that jinx step foot on his ship I’ll never understand.”
“Give it up you old fool, the lad’s father saved the captain’s life when he first set out to sea as a youth. How could he turn down the lad?”
“Saved him when the ship they were on sank! The whole clan is cursed I tell you, they’ve shipwrecked more times than I have had hot meals.”
“Those are just late night tales and the musing of drunken bards. It can’t be that bad.”
“Ask him yourself! The fool thinks it’s good luck to be shipwrecked! We have been tempting the Faates sharing a ship with a Forlisteson in good weather, but now, in a storm?”
“What are you going to do? Swim for shore?”
“Not I.” Herger mumbled under his breath.
- - -
The village had been battered overnight by the storm that had swept in from the sea. A few boats had slipped their mooring in the cove and most of the village was setting them back in order.
Alika walked down the beach away from the other women picking up the kelp the storm had left ashore. Dried and burnt they would sell it as potash to the farmers inland and earn a few extra coppers.
She startled as the large clump of kelp she had been nearing turned out to be a man, lying unconscious on the beach.
She poked gently at the shipwrecked man to see if he was still alive.
The man raised his head form the kelp covered pebbles and looked around. Smiling he muttered “Er tidevannet høyt eller lavt?”
“Ah!, you’re alive!” she gasped, surprised. “I’m sorry, I don’t understand you.” She said in the common trade tongue.
“Ah fair maiden”, the tall blond sailor said in heavily accented common, “I asked if it was high tide or low.”
“High tide, the storm swept you high up the beach.” Alika responded bemused by the question.
“Oh, good. I needn’t move then.” And the young man promptly dropped back into the kelp covered pebbles of the beach.
- - -
The young man the women had found shipwrecked had slept till noon, and once he found himself safe among strangers had insisted on helping his saviors fix their ships. He wasn’t accustomed to their kind of ships, but his rope work was good and he could haul timbers as well as the next man, and far more cheerfully.
His good humor and near constant singing had won over the fishermen and they now sat by the tavern’s fire enjoying drinks and sharing tales. Many were thinking that perhaps a place on one of their ship’s could be made for this brave young man to earn his way back to the north.
“Ah thank you for your hospitality, but you needn’t make a fuss. Shipwrecking is not that big a deal, and common enough in the stormy seas of the north. Why it has even been good luck to my clan.”
The fishermen laughed at the young man’s bravado, and more drinks were hoist. If anything, with his tales, he would make for good company on a shipping trip.
“Why my grandfather has told me tales his own grandfather told him as boy. That being shipwrecked as a young man had been the best thing that ever happened to him. For he found himself upon an island of a cheerful and handsome people of good cheer and beautiful song, and there he met his wife.”
“And grandfather’s father would have been lost to an ambush to the cursed Ice Queen’s raiders if his ship hadn’t sprung a leak on the way to battle. As they swam to the other ships the raiders surged from a fjord to overtake the fleet. And after the battle great-grandfather Varg had himself a ship twice as fine as the one that sank under his feet.”
The fishermen laughed nervously and drank deeply of their mulled ales.
“Grandfather himself once ended up with enough gold to buy himself a fine longboat thanks to a storm. He was out fishing and all of the sudden, under a bright and sunny sky the sea became rough, the waves swelled overhead and suddenly a, how do you call a boblebad in common? Ah yes. Suddenly a whirlpool appeared and dragged his ship to the sea’s very bottom. The skies were clear and sunny above, so grandfather always said that it was like swimming in green light, like the ocean was one great emerald. And as he fought the current he looked down and saw the skeletons of countless ships and treasure enough to sate the greed of a thousand pirates simply lying on the sandy bottom gleaming in that green light.”
“Well I could hardly swim back home without proof now could I?, my grandfather always said, they’d think I was both daft and drunk! So he swam down with the current and grabbed for a handful of the treasure laid out before him. He managed to snag a couple of bejeweled necklaces before the very current carried him away and up back to the surface. Like the sea itself had spat me out he always said.”
Now suddenly free positions on board looked all the dearest. And fishing has never lead to riches. And the fish have been scarce this season, right?
“Of course father always said that granddad was just drunk AND daft, that he was just spinning out tales by the fire. That losing a ship had never been anything but grief. Lost catches, money lost after a trading trip. That he’d rather walk into the mountains to hunt Linnorm’s with just a stick. And that if a storm snuck up on him up in the mountains at least he’d be on solid ground. I think it’s really because mother was a Sky Maiden and they would hardly have seen one another if they were both out and about all the time.”
- - -
The next day the fisherman gladly waved goodbye at the young Ulfen sailor. A group of farmer’s had happened upon their village to buy dried fish. And with much apologies for the poor state of their boats and the rough seas preventing them from taking him further north themselves they had talked the young man into safeguarding their trip to the next town along the coast.

Her benyttes aktiv støykontroll for å gjøre innemiljøet mer behagelig.
