One night he's drinking knowing you're out at some fancy restaurant with your bf when you call him crying barely getting the words out between sobs about how your bf proposed but you couldn't say yes, you thought this was everything you ever wanted but it's all wrong and you feel like he doesn't even know you as a person anymore, just this idea of you, how could you ever build a marriage on that, so you ran out to call Simon and now what do you do?! Now normally Simon would try and talk you down, help you sort your thoughts and then tell you to go back in there and hold your ground. But with the alcohol in his system the lines are blurry, usually he'd never do anything that might tie you to him in a way that could put you in danger, barely anyone even knew about your friendship, tonight however he couldn't take it anymore. He tells you to get in a taxi and come to his place. He'd come get you but he thought you wouldn't need him tonight and he's in no condition to be driving. Then the words just fell out "I could love you with my eyes closed, I could treat you so much better, I've known you forever figured you out." muttered under his breath. As soon as he realised what he said he prayed you didn't hear him over your crying knowing full well if you did hear him he wouldn't have the strength to take it back. But you heard every word. What you didn't tell him is that you're already in the back of a taxi almost at his place because the moment your bf said those four words you knew all you wanted was Simon.
