One thing I have not talked too much on is my love for interludes. Fuck I love me a good interlude. So much that I've decided to do a week of sharing only interludes.
Where we begin this week is with an all time classic by king kendrick himself, for sale?
This song has so much packed into it and I will not go into all the intricacies of it as I do not feel like writing an essay today. The general message of the song is detailing kendrick being tempted by lucifer (reffered to as Lucy) through the exotic lifestyle being a famous rapper can bring.
I love that this character both can be lucifer as well as are also somewhat portraying record labels as well. A big paycheck from a label is the quick way to a much easier life, but at a steeper cost than a young kendrick realized.
Lucy has known kendrick is going to be a huge star, so they have spent all this time tempting kendrick to sign with them. Forget who you have been, give into the lavish lifestyle being a famous rapper brings, you'll get enough money for your family to finally live comfortably.
This is your reminder that if you have not listened to kendrick lamars master piece "to pimp a butterfly" please do yourself a favor and get on that.
