#though they don't have anything to do with Soarin

Hii WB anon here and I'm back again!! Saw your posts about spitdash and oh my god, I love the way you actually acknowledge the unfortunate power dynamic and found a way to make it work!! I think it's very romantic how Spitfire chose to step down in order to date rainbows dash, it's adorable!! As always your art and headcanons are great. Speaking of headcanons!! Since you've mentioned soarin and spitfire dynamics a few times, can we have more about them/soarin as a whole? I do not remember if I've mentioned it in the last ask but soarin is my personal favorite, I have a closer bond to him since he's the reason I got into the wonderbolts in the first place. So I'd love to see if you have any headcanons about him (fyi I will probably go back into your ask box to ask about the others but for now we're focusing on soarin he needs his moment to shine)
You hold a special place in my heart for asking about the WB, Soarin and Spitty... Oof long text incoming about them!
Tumblr media
One recurring hc I have is that they're childhood friends - even platonic soulmates.
I hc Spitfire to have had a lot of trouble making friends as a kid. Mainly because she had way too much energy, an insane competitive drive and quite the anger issues. She didn't have anything against other kids per se, she wasn't just mean. But her natural talent for flying and quick frustration when others wouldn't do as she wanted (like a partner not giving it their all during a race or a slower runner making it hard for her to pass them during a run/race) were a toxic combination and made her explode regularly. Hearing her shout and stomp in frustration wasn't uncommon. Naturally, kids used to avoid and/or gossip about her, even if she tried to find some friends and help others get to her level so they could do some friendly racing or sparring. Some kids may have provoked her, which would usually result in a brawl or some form of violence depending on the other kid's attitude, as soon as she felt her pride was harmed. Ultimately she didn't want to harm other per se. She was just hyper-focused on running, flying, anything adrenaline, and had a lot of trouble managing her emotions.
Insert Soarin: I mentioned that he definitely loves a good race and winning as much as the other Wonderbolts - a quality anyone has naturally in that position. But outside of a race, I hc him as the softest, most relaxed, and also most tired guy there is. He really just encapsulates this meme for me (just imagine there are also dark circles)
Tumblr media
He's docile, friendly and (as a kid) very agreeable - which unfortunately, resulted in him having trouble finding true friends as well and getting bullied. While he got to tag along, he was often the butt of a joke due to his soft nature. Being used as a water boy or personal butler also was daily routine, which he accepted with a heavy heart. I hc Soarin to have a strong sense of justice and having very developed empathy even as a kid. He's a thinker, a strategist. He observes, notices and concludes. He's not stupid. He knows and can tell the other kids don't really like him and treat him badly, but he just wants to have some friends. Plus, he's not very courageous (as a kid) and doesn't want to face arguing and fighting. He just wants to be included.
His "friend" group doesn't like Spitfire and definitely called her a crazy devil. Soarin initially only heard bad and frankly, quite intimidating things about her. But after meeting her he quickly concludes that she's not a real threat and just has some trouble with her anger. But she's trying to be helpful and outside of any competition is actually rather calm and nice.
There's no specific hc how they met but it was definitely Soarin who tried to initiate contact and a friendship. And Spitfire who was probably wary about him due to his friend group. I love to think they connected very quickly and balanced each other out well. Soarin was the first kid who would race her no matter how often he'd lose and not get annoyed or angry at her. Which was because he immediately noticed that she doesn't like to put others down - she just loves to race, win and get better. After a while he also realized, that she loves any kind of improvement, really. Not just her own. She'd give him tips, train with him and would also get just as excited when he got better. She just loved adrenaline, training and most importantly - seeing improvement and success. For her or others. It's something Sptifire never noticed herself and it was Soarin who, years later, would mention it and ultimately be the reason why she would end up as captain of the Wonderbolts.
Kid Spitfire would be good for Soarin too: not only standing up to anyone who treated him badly, but also getting him to speak out for himself and say out his thoughts out loud.
Honestly, I just love them getting each other. Even when they're completely different in character. They look at each other and they just know. They know when the other is unwell or when there is something off. There is almost no secret they can keep from the other. They know what the other needs, wants, desires. And by adulthood, they'd trust each other with their life. UGH I really really love them as platonic soulmates.
They walk side by side in each others lives. They're a perfect match and in the Wonderbolts, as captain and deputy, they're an almost unstoppable team. Not only because they trust and care about each other like no one else, but also because they both can separate work from their personal feelings. They're both able to make decisions that may be unpleasant for their friendship but greatly benefit the Wonderbolts.
A characteristic also great in arguments btw: Just because they understand and get each other doesn't mean they always agree with each other. I imagine they definitely get into loud arguments. Soarin can be just as stubborn as Spitfire in some aspects, especially when he thinks he has the correct facts and logic on his side. (It's the stubborn, analytical science side of his.) Though for them, it's easy to not take arguing personal. They may get frustrated but they can clearly differentiate that the topic at hand is the problem and each other. So it's not uncommon for them to be arguing and shouting at each other and having casual, friendly lunch 15 min later. Something that the other Wonderbolts definitely have a hard time understanding.
Some last points: Soarin has never had any jealousy towards Spitfire, neither as a kid, nor as her deputy. And maybe it's exactly because of this why she's made him deputy and then captain after her departure. I imagine her stepping down (for romance of all things, which he later learns) is the first thing he truly, never ever saw coming. He's usually great at reading and anticipating her. But this? It takes him by COMPLETE surprise and he definitely has a very hard time accepting it. It's like a surreal fever dream. He may even have a small crisis, thinking that she'll be gone for good after - just leaving him behind. This fear probably takes a LOT of reassurance from Spitfire to calm him down again.
I've written way too much already, so I'll just end it with two short hcs:
1) He's got trouble with sleep and insomnia since teenage years. It's often a joke with friends or later on in the WBs. Jokes he usually goes along with or even initiates. Spitfire is one of the few people who know that it's more than just jokes, and that some days it really takes a hard toll on him. They used to share beds - which helped Soarin sleep - and still sometimes do in the WBs. Which also leads into:
2) In some AUs, I hc they did have some flings and physical/sexual experience with each other. But the details are too much and complex to write out and too nsfw to include into this post.

Don't mind me, I'm just imagining my MC writing letters to her family to help deal with the grief. She also ended up befriending a murder of crows in her melancholy, so she kinda wanders around as an omen of death. Anyway, how are you doing?
Scenario Questions:
How would the ROs react to finding MC hiding from people during a party and crying alone? (in the crush stage?)
How would the ROs (and others) react to finding a box containing letters to MC's dead family? How would they react to finding letters addressed to them? confession letter that was hidden away because mc is too afraid to say anything?
Also, how would Helios feel if he ran into MC one morning (they have a relatively positive acquaintanceship) and MC says, "Good morning, Sunshine!" without thinking-- then becoming a flustered mess.
Thank you for this story. I quite like it so far. I don't like to admit it, but a big factor of why I like this game is the angst. I want soft and healthy relationships, but that will take quite some time to reach if at all. Anyways, thank you again. Take care <3
Hi, anon!
This is kind of funny because I wanted to start chapter 2 with journal pages so the player could pick choices to describe how the last few years were, I think I'll do it for chapter 3 so... 🫣
I'm doing okay, hope you're doing well!
I'll do the first prompt then slowly do the others (I am very slow...) 💗
Also, I'm certain most people who like my IF live for angst because that's honestly the main tag of this story, happiness is nonexistent.
Fadiya
Fadiya had been searching for MC for a while, growing increasingly worried as the party continued without them. When she finally found them, her heart ached at the sight of their tear-streaked face. She knew how crushing it could be to feel alone in a room full of people. Fadiya approached MC with a softness in her eyes, her words carefully chosen to offer comfort without pushing too much. As she sat beside MC, Fadiya couldn't help but feel protective of them, as though they were a small bird that needed shelter from the storm.
For as long as you need me, I will be here.
Helios
Helios kept a respectful distance, not wanting to intrude on their space, he knew he couldn’t erase their pain but he hoped to offer some solace.
Leaning against a nearby pillar, Helios observed MC silently, his heart aching at the sight of their tears. His hand twitched, an instinct to reach out and offer comfort, yet he hesitated. His mind was conflicted, torn between his desire to be there for them and the boundaries that he had established.
But even as the dichotomy of his feelings warred within him, he couldn’t stop himself from crossing the line.
Let me be selfish just once.
Hunter
Hunter had been making their rounds around the party when they caught sight of MC, huddled in a corner and crying silently.
They knew that they couldn't fix everything, but they were determined to at least make them smile. As Hunter approached MC, their charming smile was in full force. They knew that laughter was the best medicine, and Hunter was more than willing to be the court jester if it meant bringing a smile to MC's face.
It wouldn't solve everything, but seeing the smile on MC's face was worth more to Hunter than anything else.
Let me take your mind off your troubles, even if it is just for a moment.
Soarine
Soarine had been scanning the party when she noticed MC's absence. Her heart sank when she found them, hiding away and crying.
Without hesitation, Soarine approached MC, she had always been good at comforting others, and with MC, it came naturally.
With a gentle smile, she began speaking, her words flowing easily from her lips despite how. She didn't have any magic words to make the pain go away, but she hoped that her words could offer some sort of comfort.
You are not alone, I'm here for you.
Vincent
Vincent had always been the type to let his actions speak louder than words, and this situation was no different. As he approached MC, he could feel his heart racing with worry for them.
Though he was terrible at comforting others with words, Vincent knew that sometimes the best comfort was just being there, a solid presence for someone to lean on.
He didn't say anything, didn't try to offer empty platitudes or meaningless comfort. He simply stood beside MC, a wall of unwavering support, offering his silent presence as a reminder that they were not alone.
You can rely on me.

If the wind turns, fighting a squall, allow the ground to find its brutal way to me, I feel lighter than I have in so much time, I've crossed the border line of weightless, one deep breath out from the sky I've reached a rarer height now that I can confirm, all our weight is just a burden offered to us by the world, and though I burn how could I fall? When I am lifted by every word you say to me, if anything could fall at all, it's the world and it falls away from me, you have me floatin' like a feather on the sea, while you're as heavy as the world that you hold your hands beneath, once I had wondered what was holdin' up the ground, I can see that all along, love, it was you all the way down, even now, I am sky-bound, if you need to, darling, lean your weight to me, we'll float away, but if we fall I only pray, don't fall away from me, I do not have wings, love, I never will, soarin' over a world you are carryin', if these heights should bring my fall, let me be your own, Icarian, carrion, if the wind turns, if I hit a squall allow the ground to find its brutal way to me, if I should fall, on that day I only pray, don't fall away from me

I, Carrion (Icarian) -Hozier
And though I burn how could I fall?
When I am lifted by every word you say to me.
If anything could fall at all, it's the world That falls away from me. I can see that all along, love, it was you all the way down. Leave it now, I am sky-bound. If you need to, darling, lean your weight to me. We'll float away, but if we fall I only pray, don't fall away from me. I do not have wings, love, I never will. Soarin' over a world you are carryin'. aladdin or moana ride and what would you want the ride to be like?
Tumblr media
Aladdin, obviously flying carpet. Personally I'd love to see what could be done with a suspended kuka arm, though idk if that would actually deliver the experience you'd want from a flying carpet ride. But I like the idea of being able to do something with actual physical objects that can fly past beneath you.
Like I think the appeal of a carpet is that you can see all around you and look over the edge below. I could see where like a sideways soarin type situation might be a better option. Maybe find some way to integrate multi layer projection so that clouds can be at a different focal length than the background. It's a harder task that you'd initially think to actually deliver a flight experience that in the movie where they're actually flying between clouds and through and under things quite fast. Hell you could probably make it a roller coaster using some techniques cosmic rewind uses.
Moana, obviously I think would be a boat ride. I'd love to see the Mack rocking boat developed into an attraction and perhaps this would be a good fit. Though I haven't seen anything about that ride system in years, it might have turned out not to work. I think don't think Moana has quite as clear an aspirational moment as Aladdin does. I think I might try to do a more Indiana Jones approach and create a new adventure story to join her on.

My problematic (and not wrong, yet debatable) opinion on Disney Park Rankings.
After reading this article and the arguments made on why Disney World is better than Disneyland, I feel as though they made some valid points. I do agree with the one point on hotels. Disney World wins in that category compared to Disneyland. However, in my personal opinion, I truly feel as though there are different aspects of each park at Disney World that are better or worse than the ones at Disneyland.
So for the fun of it, and to share my personal views and opinions on each one, I wanted to rank each Disney park to really compare certain aspects between the two resorts. If I could, I would rank the international parks and automatically put Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea in the top spots. However, since I have not traveled to any of them just yet, that will have to be for a different time. Though I don’t need to travel to the parks to know that the Japan parks are superior. Anyway, here is my ranking of the U.S. parks that are solely based on my opinion. (This is excluding the water parks)
6. Hollywood Studios
Tumblr media
Honestly, I’m so sorry, HS. But you kind of deserve this. Don’t get me wrong. We have our icons like Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Rollercoaster. Including new additions like Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge. And I DO NOT want to see any Muppet Vision slander around here.
But HS, sweetie... You’re a mess.
Despite all the new additions to the park, and the Skyliner adding a new form of transportation for getting to the park (which is a ride experience in and of itself), Hollywood Studios is still a half-day park. At least for me, in my own personal experience.
5. Magic Kingdom
Tumblr media
Yes, Walt Disney's iconic Magic Kingdom is number 5 on my list. It is still a great park in my eyes. It is not just the "bigger version" of Disneyland, but it has its own unique features that make it different. And that is not including the towering Cinderella Castle at the end of Main Street.
Yet this park ranks low on my list for certain reasons. However, I'll only go into one main reason. Magic Kingdom's versions of rides such as Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and It's a Small World fall short compared to Disneyland's versions. In Space Mountain's case, this is because it was the first one to open before the one in Anaheim. Second versions tend to see improvements made (the same argument can be made comparing Splash Mountain at Disneyland compared to Magic Kingdom's).
Compared to the other parks (and what Disneyland makes up for in rides), I'm sticking with Magic Kingdom at number 5.
4. Disney California Adventure
Tumblr media
Just like Hollywood Studios, DCA is going through its own identity crisis. After everything that has been taken out or changed, does California in the name really mean anything anymore? We lost the Hollywood Tower of Terror, Soarin' Over California was changed to Soarin' Around the World in 2016, and Cars Land and the upcoming Avenger's Campus has nothing to do with California. Also, don't get me started on them taking away the Aladdin show for Frozen. The park's problematic history has made it for many people one of Disney's least popular parks. Though I would say because of its interesting history (DCA 1.0) and some changes, it deserves its spot on my list.
When they announced the retheme for Tower of Terror, I wasn't a fan at first. However, Guardians Mission: Breakout is now one of my favorite Disney rides. The same goes for the Incredicoaster. The rethemes are usually not welcomed at first, but Disney has shown that they are trying to improve the park in many ways.
3. Epcot
Tumblr media
Epcot is iconic and is the moment. The World Showcase is already a good argument for why it deserves number 3. One can spend a good amount of time in just one country, and it is known for the amount of food and drinks you could get here, including the festivals that run throughout the year. The park has my favorites Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, and Figment, of course. This park is a winner in my eyes. But on this list is the number 3 winner.
2. Animal Kingdom
Tumblr media
I had a tough time trying to figure out of Animal Kingdom deserved number 1 or 2. I have said before that this is my favorite U.S. park, and there are many reasons why it is considered one of the best, even being up there with the Tokyo Disney parks.
A zoo, animal sanctuary, and amusement park all in one. Along with these elements, the theming is what makes it so special for me and many others. All thanks to iconic Imagineer Joe Rohde, his vision for Animal Kingdom truly comes to life in this park. The effort to make the lands in this park come to life truly paid off. Expedition Everest and Flight of Passage are arguably two of Disney's best rides. Even getting to enjoy Kilimanjaro Safari is an experience itself. This park truly does have my heart.
1. Disneyland
Tumblr media
There really is something about Disneyland that none of the other parks can compare to. She is the smallest, smaller castle and all. Though there truly is a homey feel here. I feel this may be since Disneyland is a local's park, compared to Disney World that caters a lot more to tourists who are vacationing in the 'Disney Bubble.' There is a large AP (annual pass) culture here, so it lends a hand in that. This may be controversial, but it also seems as though the Cast Members are nicer at DL & DCA (I have met many nice CMs at Disney World). I also believe that Disneyland values quality over quantity compared to Disney World, which does the opposite. I've seen this in the rides, the food, and the experience. And Disneyland actually outnumbers Magic Kingdom in attractions. Overall, I feel more ~magical vibes~ at Disneyland and more -corporate- over at Disney World.
I hope none of you are mad or hate me after reading this ranking. Honestly, it is entertaining for me to read other people's opinions and rankings on the parks, rides, etc. Each park is a gem and has distinctive themes and features that separate them from the rest.

Now I have an idea for a fighting game
I like thinking of concepts for stuff
Right now I'm calling it "Insanity X." It's a fighting game set in a world where basically anything can happen. Fighters can be whatever the heck I want them to be, up to and including living trash cans.
The main premise is that the country of Randomile has been taken over by the Gorgon Queen, Meda, who is taking people and turning them into statues. Ultima, the superhero, attempted to fight her off and save the country before things got out of hand, but got caught up in shenanigans and is now Meda's prisoner. Now, people from all over the world are coming out of the woodwork to duke it out, either in a test of strength, or for more personal (or petty) reasons.
The idea is that it's a traditional 2D fighter, but simplified so it's a lot easier for any schmuck with a controller to pick up and play. It's inspired by the craziness of Skullgirls (but not quite as dark in the story department) and the pure fun of a good round of Super Smash Brothers. Rather than quarter circle movements, there's simple directional input and button combos. The only buttons you'll need to attack are "regular" and "technical" moves. There's still flashy combos and Supers, and it can still be played competitively if you choose, but it's meant to be simpler than games like Street Fighter or Guilty Gear.
Tumblr media
These are 4 of the fighters I have drawn as of current. One of them was actually created in concept by a friend of mine.
Tumblr media
Reagan DeCamry is the game's "main" character. She is to Insanity X what Mario is to Smash, or what Ryu is to Street Fighter. She comes from a family of stage magicians, and uses magic tricks to fight on her quest to save her father, who was taken by Meda during her assault. She wears her dad's cape on her back, and uses her bag of tricks in a plethora of slightly off kilter attacks. An example: her downward regular kick has a rabbit pop out and do some low damage, while the stronger version spawns an alligator head to bite at her opponent. Currently, her super move (or Insanity Strike) is called "In the Bag," where she unleashes the full contents of her trick bag to do massive damage.
Tumblr media
Ultima is a rush down type fighter, using lots of hard hitting punches and kicks augmented by laser blasts. If All Might was female and gave birth to Captain Falcon's baby, this would be that baby, only with laser powers. He's constantly spouting advice about all sorts of stuff, making him an excellent role model. While he has been imprisoned by Meda, she hasn't been able to turn him to stone, for some reason. Although he also hasn't been able to escape, for some reason. His Insanity Strike is 420 Punches of Red Hot Laser Death, where he punches you 420 times with both regular fists and laser fists.
Tumblr media
This is Garbage Man, a garbage can. He's always angry, and is only in the game's story due to self-perceived slights against him that don't actually exist. For example, he may fight because "you threw me off of a building," even though he's never been higher than the 2nd floor of a house. He's a heavyweight, and is mostly about using his toxic fumes and trash piles to control space. His Insanity Strike is called Dumpster Fire, which I'd imagine is pretty self explanatory.
Tumblr media
The last fighter is Soarin, a visitor from another, steampunk based country, and the one that my friend gave me the concept for. She was floating along with her hot air balloon over Randomile when an odd rain started to pour, downing her and leaving her stuck overseas. While she's there, she sees the country's plight and tries to help out, thinking that it may have something to do with the mysterious rain.
So yeah, I guess that's it.
Insanity X, coming
...never, potentially? Maybe? It could be fun, so yeah. Maybe.
PS yes, I know this isn't my art blog but I figured it was broad enough to be here instead.

We left our story yesterday on our way back to our suite for some peace and rest… which we got. Even the kids were seriously down for a nap. In fact, we woke up before they did.
Now, one of the items on Kimmer's and Rachel's To-Do lists is to hit a Disney outlet store 'cause 1) Kimmer's quite taken by the idea of scoring a t-shirt or something from cruises that actually didn't happen. That would be merchandise manufactured for cruises that we're to take place in 2020 but didn't since all cruise ships were grounded. And 2) Rachel's on the hunt for other and less expensive Disney gifts for friends and family.
In the end, I think none of us were really drawn to anything we saw at that store. I think Kimmer walked away with a very sweet Mulan pin and exactly half of what Rachel found was for herself.
We were in a mall, though, so we poked around for a bit. Kimmer found me a black Hurley t-shirt because yup.
I've gotta sunburn.
I think this t-shirt's called a rash guard in surfing circles. Whatever it is, it's comfy, it fits, and I'll be wearing it with my swim trunks tomorrow at Blizzard Beach 'cause I really don't need any more burn than I've already got.
New shirt in hand, we jump a Lyft to Epcot where we pick up our day in The Land pavilion. Soarin' first, wonders of the world. Then that boat ride, Living With The Land, where you learn a little about ecosystem, farming, and some pretty impressive, better sustainable,.used in the park methods for growing food.
After that, the girls head off to the Magic Kingdom where they wanna end the night whilst we head off to the food & wine festival happening around the lake. Our plan's to explore around the UK side but we immediately fall for the temptation of Canada's menus of fillet mignon and cheddar soup with pretzel bread.
Seriously, it was the first stand we passed. But it.
Was.
Yummy.
😁
After, we continued walking in the direction of France… but nothing spoke to us and all the lines in France were too long. So we head back down the lake, out if the park, to the monorail station where we meet a.lovely family of four from Georgia. They're a little anxious on behalf of their kids 'cause the Disney Magic Kingdom fireworks show could start any minute now and they won't get a shot at seeing this particular version of that show.
Unfortunately, by the time we walk through the front gates of the Magic Kingdom, the show's in full swing.
☹️
Tumblr media
We had no such expectations, fortunately, no plans to see the fireworks or the imagery projected onto Sleeping Beauty's Castle. That was all lovely and spectacular, of course…
But we were there for dessert.
We purposefully, then, make our way along Main Street to the Ice Cream parlor, last establishment on the right before the park's hub.
Now here's the thing. Kimmer has a nut allergy that encompasses all nuts except coconuts. So desserts… are always a challenge.
Always.
So Kimmer asks the question about nuts and exposure… and it's a pretty noisy environment just then and I think I see the cashier shake her head and mouth "no". Which I take to mean that everything's been exposed to nuts
But.
Turns out the opposite's true as the manager even offers to make Kimmer's Coke Float in a separate area with newly cleaned utensils.
And yes. That absolutely sealed the deal. And it's how, for the second time this trip, Disney's managed to provide her with a delicious, no risk dessert.
You have no idea what a gift that is
Tumblr media
Me, I ordered an ice cream sundae with warm brownie and we walked our desserts across the way.
Quick Disney Tip: these tables clear out almost immediately once the fireworks are done. So if you don't care as much about endings, you can order your ice cream and score a table right away.
Also:
If you're looking to score ice cream on your way out the park at closing, the parlour on your right, walking from the direction of Sleeping Beauty's Castle will be closed whilst the one on the left, the one we landed on, stays open. In fact a long, packed line of people forms just as soon as the show's over and everyone starts streaming to the front gates.
By the way, one of the employees there, bless her heart, was super into the music outside. She sang along with her eyes open. She sang with her eyes closed. She sang with all her heart. And when she was done, she rushed to the window to see if Tinker Bell was flying.
Which.
She.
Was.
It's important, by the way, because she always has a good night when that happens.
🙂
Tumblr media
The four of us finished out our night with desserts and stories around a table for four right there across from Sleeping Beauty's Castle before heading home for the night.
We weren't quite done with our day, though. There was laundry to do 'cause there's a washer/dryer in our suite and it's super easy to handle.
Also, the day turned into quite a time for losing things: my water bottle that I actually left on the ride. I got it back when I was sent through the exit to the platform where they'd already found it and cheerfully handed it over
Linzy lost her water bottle too, although pretty much she simply forgot that she left it on the counter when we left for the evening.
Rachel, though, the bag in which she stashed gifts for family and friends was legitimately gone. Most likely on the Disney shuttle that took us from the Magic Kingdom to the Transportation.
We don't know what's gonna happen but Disney personnel will go through the bus at end of shift and relay anything they find with Disney City Hall. Rachel's already contacted them and we'll just have to hope for a touch of luck
Tumblr media
We've definitely got a routine that gets us out the door by eight… so we do that again and begin our fourth day in the Animal Kingdom with a return engagement of the Na'vi River Journey, an experience that's even better the second time around because there's so much depth to what Imagineers have created.
After that, Kimmer and Rachel make their way to the Tough To Be A Bug 3D performance whilst Linzy 'n I head over to Expedition Everest 'cause we're just straight up gluttons for punishment.
On the way, we're distracted by a live presentation of Macaws, a type of New World parrots that are long-tailed and colorful.
They were magnificent. At the end, one flew straight at and over me. And then a few beats later a bunch of them followed suit.
It was all amazing and terrifying at the same time
After the roller coaster and a few photo ops, Linzy and I met up with Kimmer and Rachel. We did a quick partner swap that sent the girls out for more shopping whilst the missus 'n I shared a breakfast sandwich over the river.
We rejoined the girls I'm Dino Land where Linzy's identified a ride that was built over the Indiana Jones ride track design but with a dino narrative. The girls enjoyed it first, we followed a few minutes later, then we all took a moment at a table in the main part of Dino Land for some photo reviewing and popcorn.
Afterward, the girls head off for Africa looking for a gift for Rachel's sister whilst we hop a bus (a wonderfully empty bus) for our second visit to Blizzard Beach.
Once we had our swimwear on, we walked a little until we notice inflatable chairs floating invitingly in the Lazy River. So we race down and situate ourselves in them and they.
We're.
Wonderful.
Good grief. They're super easy to get into. There's like zero chance of flipping over when you do. And, for me at least, they also seem to facilitate naps.
About three quarters of the way around our lap, we changed to clear ones with green handles 'cause Kimmer loves green and, you know, what the heck.
About three quarters of the way around our second lap, the girls ran into is, having slipped into the river a half hour before.
After that, the four of us in the warm waters of the wave pool followed by a tuna sandwich and chips lunch whilst air drying under an intense sun while then girls, I'm thinking, scored some donuts.
The girls caught up again when we were indulging our new tradition of grape fruit hefeweizen at Freddy's Shack.
Okay one last thing:
The ride back to our condo was helmed by another charming gentleman from Venezuela. We actually got into a pretty involved conversation that ranged from working as a bank executive to being forced to leave his country to trying to starting new in this country to facing employment language and age barriers to teaching in a Spanish teaching school to transportation management to Uber to Lyft to real estate.
Then we talked family. A pair of kids. Five grandkids that he and his wife help with during the day.
But his kids?
A teacher. A NASA engineer. And then the spouse of one of his kids who's also a NASA engineer. And then the fact that he's gotten to watch four shuttle launches. Two during the day. Two at night. And those nighttime launches absolutely turn the darkness of night into the brightness of day.
And so on.
It really is something when you talk stories with people you don't know.
🙂🙂🙂

I don't normally do this, but for even a CHANCE of Coe doing something nice and wholesome for once I will help with the impulsive kiss ask. Say MC and the RO have been having a platonic hangout for most of the day. They're laughing, playfully shoving each other, all that cutesy crap you see on TV. After a laughing fit the RO and MC realize that their faces have ended up pretty close to one another. For a moment both are quiet, looking into one another's eyes. Which of the RO's would impulsively close that gap and kiss MC?
(ugh, I feel dirty after making such a nice and romantic ask. I gotta go torment someone to get back to normal, BRB)
You're such a pest, wierdo!
Let's see...
For Fadiya I feel like MC would have to be the one to do it unless there have been multiple instances like these so she gets frustrated and is like "next time I'll do it!"
Helios is anything but impulsive so no. If he did kiss them in that situation then he would first touch their hair (sorry if you're bald) and if they don't pull away then he might kiss them.
Hunter would just blankly stare at MC while their brain and heart go crazy, they are hoping a bird drops dead next to them so they can get out of this position.
I can't see Soarine doing it but she'll be a little bit of a tease and put her hand on their face, "accidentally" touch their lips with her thumb, and have this knowing smile on her face. Would she kiss them though? Who knows!
Vincent is not doing it but he will stare at their face and take in every little detail and maybe be a little bit of a bitch and be like "Do you like looking at me this much?" Yes, he's projecting it onto them.
In conclusion, none of them would do it.

i loove what you wrote about your AU, do you have any more lore or details about it?
Thank you anon... <3 Man there are a lot of details I like.. Either consistent with the general/main AU or otherwise.
One that I also absolutely love in most AUs is how it all comes together in the end. The solution to their demise so to say. It's almost always the same.
I love the moral struggle Spitfire faces once she accepts the wants to be with Rainbow but can't because of Wonderbolt rules and morals. And since she sticks to the rules in most AUs, there's only one way out of their dilemma: they can't both be in their current position. There aren't many jobs within the whole Wonderbolt administration which would allow a gray area of seeing each other. Besides, Spitfire would see neither of them doing a lousy, no-name job. Both would rather quit completely.
And I think for Spitfire the decision, once she starts seriously looking for a solution, is pretty clear. She sees the potential in Rainbow to grow even more and how well she fits into the team. Rainbow is new and still has a lot of experience to gather. Spitfire also recalls everything she herself has already done and what she experienced as Captain - all her achievements, everything she's learned, everything she's built, and starts to wonder what even is left? She already has one of the best reputations imaginable, she's put together an amazing team, built the Wonderbolt name up even more - is there even anything she truly wants to do anymore? Is there a trophy, a prize she truly wants or needs anymore? She used to be driven for success, for perfection and greatness. But doesn't she already have that? And finally, It's not like she can't fly outside of the Wonderbolts. She doesn't need to be captain to indulge in her love of flying.
And then there's also Soarin, her deputy, who she starts to subtly question and ask about his input - wondering how ready he would be as a captain himself. He gives exactly the answers and solutions she would name herself to any given problem. He makes great suggestions in training, had good judgement, sees the potential and necessary improvements of the team and, besides his lack of leading experience, shows he would be a great leader.
And with this knowledge, that she can give the team into caring, earnest and ambitious hands, her decision is quickly and easily made.
There is no special event, it's just another regular dinner they share together. But the news of her stepping down comes to a complete surprise to everyone. No one saw it coming, not even Rainbow - who had accepted her fate of not being able to see Spitfire officially in any romantic way. The team is aghast, almost choking on whatever food or drink they just had. All the while, Spitfire is just smiling, clearly happy about her decision. It feels good and right, even though she's obviously gonna miss everyone and her job. But she sees stepping down as a chance to try new things - not only courting Rainbow (who she plans to officially ask out once Soarin takes over), but also trying out anything else she has ever wanted to try. She probably only realized how much she lived solely for her job, once she put in her resignation to the administration.
Spitfire can't be fully transparent with her reasons for stepping down. But she gives a similar, general explanation as the above - that she feels there are things she wants to explore outside the Wonderbolts and that feels she's gathered enough experience for her job not to be something new anymore. And new is something she definitely wants to try (considering she most likely only had short flings or casual hookups in her time as captain).
Honestly, I adore Spitfire giving up her title with dating Rainbow as her main motivation. And I think it's a romantic gesture that would send Rainbow to the heavens as well - even if she'll cry with Spitfire leaving. I do think Spitty will definitely still hang around and see everyone regularly. I don't think she could leave everything behind completely. But it's still going to be a new era.
I also love to think about Soarin and Spitfire before, during and after her resignation. Probably lots of funny moments.
Oof this turned out way longer than anticipated. Sorry, anon!

What would the ROs do if Mc came to them for comfort after a nightmare.
Fadiya would wake up completely and make sure to listen to MC if they feel like sharing how they feel after the nightmare. She would make some cold chamomile tea for the both of them and probably stay up together to talk about random things.
Helios would invite MC to sit with him on the bed and if MC is willing to share they'd talk about the nightmare. He would say he knows just the thing to get MCs mind off things and take out his latest cringe romance novel. He would read it to them until they fall asleep.
Hunter is always extremely tired after their duty ends so they wouldn't be fully awake but they'd pull MC into bed with them and hold them close. Despite how sleepy they are, they ask MC how they're feeling and if they need anything. They would stroke their back till they were sure MC was asleep and not having another nightmare.
Soarine would open her arms for MC to bury themselves into and she would talk about things not related to the nightmare so MC would forget about it. She'd talk about places they could go to the next day and she'd complain about stupid things to make them laugh. The smile on MCs face after they fall asleep makes Soarine sigh out of relief.
Vincent tries his best to comfort MC, though he's not the best at it. He would ask what the nightmare was about then later shows them his sketches of them to take their mind off the nightmare. He stays awake far too long after MC falls asleep, just to make sure they don't have another nightmare.

Part 2 of the au, please, prepare tissues:
The commotion of the maids and butlers arguing about the color of your gown wakes you from your restless sleep. (Helios was gone.) They never bother to ask for your opinion, yet no one protests when you choose a red dress with a silver hem.
"Hunter is waiting for you behind the castle doors," Soarine says as she takes your hands in hers. "Do not worry, MC, you'll find freedom. And please, don't ever forget about me when you soar across the sky."
Everything goes according to plan. The nearby walls crumble suddenly, and the mist obscures everyone's vision.
Hunter extends her arm, waiting for you to hold on so she can swiftly lead you to her uncle, while Lancelot will guide you to Vincent.
And soon, you'll be free.
...
...
...
You are nowhere to be found when Hunter searches for you. Your sudden disappearance forces her to rush to Helios and the others, including Luceris and the other nobles, to announce that you are gone.
Unbeknownst to the chaos, you ascend the highest tower in the castle. It stands empty, providing the perfect setting for your purpose.
You retrieve the necklace that embodies your essence and whisper a heartfelt enchantment into it—a promise meant for your beloved. It is an ancient magic, one that Fariya once taught you, allowing you to enchant anything with words meant solely for your loved one.
Enchanting those words, which you never thought you'd utter, you speak into the necklace's ethereal essence.
"Helios," you murmur, your voice heavy with pain.
Gazing up at the sky, you know that your freedom is imminent. Thoughts of your parents welcoming you into their loving embrace fill your mind, as well as the hope that your siblings will once again hold you dear.
Closing your eyes, you jump off the wall.
"I love you," you declare, surrender to gravity. I'm sorry.
The sound of Lancelot's anguished screams reaches your ears, and guilt grips your heart. You feel remorse for burdening him, for being such an ungrateful daughter. You yearn to share another meal with Qasim, Sadira, and the others, to once again feel accepted and loved in their presence. You long to roam the bustling market and encounter Soarine, to witness Vincent's different side.
You feel yourself being pulled into someone's arms, gently, softly, delicately, as if you are a fragile glass. But the glass has shattered, and your heart cannot be repaired anymore.
Though your vision fades, your eyes bleeding from the poison you've ingested daily for the past fortnight, you reach out with your bloody hands to touch his face. In this final moment, you want to remember him completely— remember the contours of his face, the touch of his bones. You want to imprint his presence forever in your memory.
You wipe away his tears, bloody hands still, unable to prevent yourself from asking him, even as your own breath escapes you, "I-if w-we... we meet again, in the next life...! P-promise me... that you will be the one... to find me first. Will... you?"
Helios says something, but his words are lost to you as you release your final breath. He beseeches you to rest, and so you do, closing your eyes as he cradles you.
You are no longer breathing. Instead, you find yourself in a meadow of golden fields. And... and...
Running toward your parents, your twin brother, and your siblings, you are once again within the sanctuary of your home. The flames have vanished, leaving only love and warmth.
"MC..." Helios chokes out, suffocated with grief, as his arms still holding you tightly amidst the chaos. Amidst it all, his focus remains solely on your smile.
I promise you, my love. I will come to you first in our next life.
So, wait for me. Wait for me until forever brings us together once again.
The end.
(Really hope I did the characters justice, but I'm bad at this stuff usually, so I'm prepared for any criticism)
This was really sad and I hope the anon who first sent me that scene is rejoicing right now 😭😭 Now someone write a modern day au where they are happy, thanks.
I know you wanted my feedback but I'm terrible at this (you will never catch me beta testing for people), I really did like it though! I do have to say you wrote Helios so gently 🥹 he's so soft and 💗💗💗 The part with MC reuniting with their family made me so sad, I know chapter 2 MC would want that above all else.
