But you guys get how this brings so much depth to Galadriel being tempted to darkness in the original LotR and the Hobbit series right? Like when you first see/read Galadriel going all psycho when Frodo tries to give her the ring, you're like "yikes crazy lady" but now you're like "SHE'S SEEN WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN. HE WAS GOING TO SHARE IT ALL WITH HER AND SHE TURNED HIM DOWN...MORE THAN ONCE."

Theory: Alastor's got some daddy issues himself and his butting into Lucifer's song was less about him actually viewing Charlie as a daughter (though I do think he has some genuine fondness for her) and more about sticking it to someone he views as a deadbeat dad.

my body alert me to having an entirely full bladder with more than 30s warning challenge (impossible)

#it! is! so! annoying! just! be! normal! *screams*#genuinely i did piss myself as a kid a LOT until i was like. 10. no lie.#bc i would not know - at all! no inclination whatsoever! if i went anyway nothing would come out! - i needed to pee #until we hit 'you are going to piss yourself immediately'#just 0 to 100 in 0.35 seconds #and i did not have the control or muscle strength or whatever to not just. piss myself if i wasnt in immediate reach of a bathroom #i went though two. years. of 'bladder retraining' therapy #which is MEANT to retune you into signals or whatever so you know you need to pee with a fucking resonable amount of warning #spoiler: it did not do this #it did not improve the signalling at all whatsoever #what it DID do was develop the necessary strength and control to become doubled over with sudden OH GOD RIGHT NOW pee pain #BUT be able to hold it off for 5-10 min if necessary #which to the adults around me was a success bc it looked like i knew how to pee properly now #i don't. i just know how to NOT pee MYSELF and make it embarrassing. difference.#look man i'm 33 presumably there will literally never be a point in my life where i will know 'oh i kinda need to pee' an hour before #i will always be playing Highway To The Danger Zone every day forever #i just live like this #CHRIST it's so FUCKING annoying though #i mean this applies to all functions i have no internal signalling for anything until it is Super Right Now Urgent #my body notify me of anything at all ever challenge (impossible)#god if this aint the most annoying one though

"I'm seriously considering running away and digging ditches for a living. Operating a forklift. Joining the circus. Anything to never speak to the people I am providing services for again."

#two professionals at a client site disagreed on whether to do something and so I did it and then got told not to #Had my supervisors check on it while I was at lunch and got told to do it again #got told to cancel it again but with feeling because NOW they think I'm stupid #now everyone is mad at me for doing what my supervisor told me to do and now everyone wants to CALL ME ON A FUCKING PHONE #instead of asking each other what they are doing #wasted literal HOURS of my time and my coworkers' time and THEIR time because nobody will talk to each other #I think I should been more prompt and gracious in dealing with it even though I am a sick shivering dog inside #and a pissed-off doctor is my worst nightmare #stop b think of the children

had to quietly square off with two men 4x my size for 20 min at the club last night w my sister and cousin bc they were big mad i was guarding drinks and clocked them as predators immediately and i just really need a femme to hold me right now bc i am so tired after my adrenal response kicked in for what felt like half an hour after and didnt get back home till 1am and got shit sleep

also you know what really pisses me off (especially in the light of the youtube stuff about james somerton). there's a couple popular and really phenomenally bad videos about sexuality in greece and rome by right wing youtubers and people just. blindly believe what they say despite the fact that they use either extremely bad sources or just. make shit up/misinterpret evidence. and badmouth Actual historians like they're part of some Evil Liberal Conspiracy to get you to think that... ancient greeks and romans weren't 2023 modern style homophobic

#they also wildly misinterpret the arguments and viewpoints of scholars too but. there's about 10 billion problems with all of these videos #honestly in general there's a huge lack of decent classics stuff on youtube its either this kind of freak shit or sensationalist made up #nonsense or it's biased or weird in other ways #but i just realized i finally have a place to talk about these videos which have been pissing me off so much for months #i thought about making a response to one of them but i don't have a youtube following so no one will see it. i did start writing one but #then i got busy though #but yeah don't watch those unless you want to get progressively more pissed off for like over an hour tbh #&also these do get aggressively recommended to you if youve ever watched or searched for anything abt ancient greece/rome on youtube #that's how i found them in the first place

reading the Ace light novel got me thinking about their first real interaction on the Moby Dick... basically Yara got fed up with Ace trying to kill Whitebeard and attempted to take matters into her own hands, the result of which definitely did not go as she planned inspired ofc by this scene from Princess Mononoke (Yara reacted about as well as San did in the movie lmao she got teased mercilessly (especially by Thatch) about it for weeks afterwards)
