my hot take is that i actually believe this is true. not necessarily in the sense that jack loves her less -- he's obviously unhinged about it -- but in the sense that belle just has so much more access to love than he does. she can admit her own feelings to herself, she can say what she wants much more easily than he can. and this certainly comes in part from her bravery and emotional vulnerability, but like so many other things, it also comes from her privilege -- the privilege of having been loved without ever having been abandoned. even in the power of their love, they are unequal, even in this she benefits. their honest, true, and mutual love saves her life; it ruins his. nothing about them can ever be neutral.

anon i've been thinking about this for daaaaaays i see it when i close my eyes. it haunts me in my dreams. i cannot.

you can barely see him through the gleaming blue-green of the water, but you can feel him.

the way his clawed fingers dig into the plush of your thighs as he holds you still for him. how you can feel his fangs against you and how careful he is with them against your most tender flesh. the way you have to grab at the side of the dock to keep yourself afloat, even though he has you perfectly situated on his shoulders. the way his powerful tail ripples beneath you, his gossamer of his fins trailing delicately along your legs.

the heat of his mouth in such contrast to the cool water swirling around you as you sink your hand into his hair. the way he works you carefully, cleverly, his tongue tracing you, dipping into your hole. how you can feel his smile against your skin as you arch into his mouth. the way his hair sways in the current as you tremble with each pass of his tongue.

yeah i'm feeling insane about this.
