An Unnamed Third Life Poem
written for my reading for pleasure class
Roses are red, violets are blue,
but those are not what I’m offering you.
Poppies are small, not meaning much,
but joined by a lilac, they have the right touch.
That pit caused me pain, and caused you some, too,
the sands are rough, and the skies are blue,
this water is cold, and so is your sword,
but I’m loyal to you. You have my word.

Hi! If there’s still a free slot in the Valentine’s Day Love Letters event, could I have a letter from Sanji please? 🥺 My pronouns are she/her but any other is fine too. I’m sorry if there isn’t enough information, I’ve never made a request for that kind of thing before and I don’t really know how it works 👉🏻👈🏻Thank you!
Aw bless you! honor to be your first and I hope you enjoy my lovely <3

Sanji looked at the desk, an assortment of different papers lined up, little heart stamps and stickers, a bottle of cologne ready to spritz his finished piece. Oh, the man was good at love letters, they were an art form for Sanji.
He’d written many throughout his life, hundreds maybe. None had ever meant something to him like this one did. He pulled out his fancy writing pen and looked over his selection of decorative stationary.
He picked out a pale pink piece with darker pink hearts dotted around he borders, he cracked his knuckles like he was ready to go into battle, loosening his shoulders before he leaned over the desk to write.
His cigarette hung from his lips, he carefully disposed of the ash in a small container to the side before placing back between his lips, taking a drag as he brushed back his hair, getting ready to write for you and only you.
‘My love, my darlin, my everything!’
No. That was too cliché, you knew that you were his everything, he needed this to come from his heart to sound genuine so that when you read the note, he’d left on your pillow it would radiate the sentiments from his soul.
A nice piece of paper this time, pale blue with little fish designs along the bottom. He nodded, feeling like this letter was fitting for you.
‘Love, I wanted to go over the top, wanted to write you a poem, sing your praises, worship the ground you walk on, but I know you are worth more then that, worth deeper sentiments then I couldn’t even dream of being able to convey. Please accept my invitation to dinner tonight, just me and you for once. Please know that I love you, a love that comes from deep in my heart.
Happy Valentine’s Day’
