🎊🎉 A Peachy New Year! 🎉🎊

Behold, another piece of fanart that I’ve kept pushing back until now.

I was planning on drawing this earlier back in January, but some complications occurred with both IbisPaint and my tablet once again, and one mishap after another, half of my files for the art got wiped somehow when my tablet crashed for the 104897th time, and I had to start from scratch.

A very similar problem occurred with one of my Pride Month pics from last year, and this time I just said, “screw it, I can’t be bothered to finish this”, and took a long-ass break and moved on to other art projects. Eventually, I did come around and finished it in the end.

2023 was honestly just a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs. It started off bad, then it was eh, and it ended… not really great good per se, but decent. I had to miss out on a lot of art projects because I was doing online school at that time, but since I graduated way back in June, I have a lot of free time on my hands and I have a lot of exciting plans in the future ^o^

One positive of this year I have so far is that I finally watched the Super Mario Movie. As per tradition of me being slower than molasses, I watched the movie on Netflix, and I absolutely LOVED it! The whole movie was literally what little me imagined a Mario movie would be like, and the movie just was a whole lot of fun. I especially loved the references/easter eggs in the movie, I was just fangirling so much 😭

And once the DK Rap came on I just started singing along like there was no tomorrow. And funny story, at one point, my mom actually walked by my room, overheard my singing, and gave me a funny look as if she thought I was going crazy, which she wasn’t wrong/hj

I could go on and on about how I love this movie, but we’d be here all day, so I’ll just say my two absolute favorite things about this movie. My first fave is obviously Peach, I’m so happy that my girl isn’t being portrayed as a damsel-in-distress, and is instead an active team leader, she was just absolutely iconic. And my second favorite thing is Bowser. Jack Black has always been one of my favorite actors/comedians, so it was a perfect decision for Illumination to have him voice Bowser. He’s the perfect blend of comedic and threatening, he gave me a lot of Hades from Hercules vibes haha

As for the art, I went with the dark-skinned, red-haired version of Bowsette, which imo is better than the regular version. One, it makes sense to give her dark skin because she lives in a place that’s nothing but fire and lava, and two, Bowser is canonically a ginger not a blondie lol

And for Peach, I drew her in her movie dress but also combined it with her winter/holiday earmuffs and cloak. Also wanted to give her the Princess Peach Showtime bow because I’m still hyped for that game >:3

Here’s to hoping this year will be great, good, or at the very least decent 🎉

my art timeline :-)

hi! i’m making this because i was inspired by maxpawb’s post i saw on toyhouse , which then led me to look at all my own art that is still somehow intact in my storage. this only details stuff from when i started posting online, not from when i started drawing traditionally as a wee lad. partially because my sketchbooks are lost and partially because i never really wrote down dates on my art to begin with.

a lot of dates are lost, due to the aforementioned problem of me not writing things down.. and also i have awful dissociative memory problems so there’s way too many gaps in my life. but i really did want to do this to see how much i could find & how much i could recollect.

content warning for VERY brief mentions of grooming, as well as minor mentions of real shitty friends

this was when i joined warriors amino and i deleted my account because i got in trouble for having social media, LMAO. i eventually came back with a new one though. this is probably one of the only surviving art pieces from when i was THIS YOUNG, everything’s on an ipad that’s so broken it won’t even charge

i learned how to use the smudge tool on ibispaint at this time and thought i was the coolest bitch on the block for my blending

may 2019, i was like 12

my return to amino (and brief period on deviantart, which i never used again lmao) i was specifically on wings of fire amino + warriors amino. i was obsessed with airbrush shading.

this is one of my first fursonas which was a wings of fire fanflight called kitsunewings or smth. and also my first species character (he predated the dragon), a bayfox, which was drawn in krita. i never used krita again after this. coincidentally, i was also never active in bayfoxes after submitting him.

i crawled back to ibispaint no matter how many new free programs i tried.. (also tried firealpaca once. i couldn’t even figure out how to draw a line…)

the rise of my longest lasting fursona. she got stolen on a shitty app called anime maker once. i can’t remember if she’s older than the dragon, andromeda, but her older iterations definitelt are. this character was just the FIRST first fursona that i actually called that, since i didn’t even really know what a furry was at first

my first commission that i sold for like 30 deviantart points (i only used the site for commission purposes, as mentioned before i never really used it lmao)

also i tried to make a closed species on wings of fire amino. second image. it was terribly stressful ; this was around the time i met my longest lasting group of friends (hi freak bin! 5 years <3) and.. some of the worst people i’ve ever met in my life at the same time, LMAOOO

also here’s this kokichi ouma dog i made before i even knew what danganronpa was. i would find out much later, unfortunately

march 2020, still 12 (cause of my august birthday 😒)

there’s a really big gap in my files here. sad! my art kicks into gear at this point tbh, i like how i did the lines. wish i had the energy for such clean lineart still :-(

i think around this time i lost contact with the people who were my groomers (which i would realize later) and i’m thankful that i don’t even remember what their names are.

wow i’m 13 now look at that. i had to go digging for this one, only one i could find that was remotely close to my birthday (it’s the 25th!) this was a drawing for my friend bea lol

was still friends with some pretty shitty people from wings of fire amino, and it was really taking a toll on me. i don’t remember drawing as often as i used to during that time because of all of that.

this is the month after i broke off permanently from my shitty old friends, with support of some other friends of mine. thank you guys… i did proceed to get harassed and made paranoid over my text messages by the shitty friends cause they were mad i got one of them banned from a furry adopts server for being literally dangerous. i do know it was them bc it was admitted to & they were some of the only people i gave my phone number to. i was kind of dumb for that

i was happy after my birthday because 13 was one of the worst years of my life. literal constant spirals and breakdowns because this is when i realize i was, in fact, groomed. i’m well and handling it better now.

Ok so I had this really old phone that I started drawing in Ibispaint back when I was in 6th grade, I used to draw Pokemon stuff for amino but idk where my phone is now and my old Amino account is dusty as hell so these are what I could find, they aren't exactly my oldest drawings but it's the oldest I can find online

These were all from my old phone but once I got a new one, the first thing I did was draw on Ibispaint and this was my first ever drawing on this phone

I redesigned Merlin. You’re welcome.

I’ve actually had this idea in my head for a while. To be more specific, June 2021.

Here’s how this whole saga began:

June 18th, 2021: I found his gorgeous concept art for the first time and got the idea to give him a ponytail. I wasn’t going to change anything else about him.

June 22nd, 2021, four days later: I decided to make his eyebrows white.

July 26th, 2021: I got the idea to give him earrings.

August 27th, 2021: I had the idea that he would realistically be muscular.

December 30th, 2021: I gave @draal-the-deadly and myself a basic summary of his redesign; more realistic proportions, long hair, earrings, and muscles.

February 7th, 2022: I decided to make him look more intimidating, partly out of a desire to make him look more like one of his beautiful storyboard versions.

July 29, 2022: I had the idea to make a portrait of him in Artbreeder.

July 30th, 2022: I started making his portrait.

July 31st, 2022: I completed his portrait!

If this makes it seem like I have an impeccable memory, I don’t; this is from looking back at old Discord coversations between @draal-the-deadly and I.

Below’s his portrait, general looks, his armor and his sword! I’m redesigning those too! :D I also gave him a helmet because fuck that skullcap.

Armor:

I actually wasn't going to give his armor a redesign at first. I just wanted to make a couple of changes, like making it bigger/less formfitting like his concept art, and adding gauntlets like this piece.

Then I started wondering if I should redesign it, and what I would do if I did. I thought about ideas, but I was never actually able to come up with a solid one.

But finally, I got inspired! I had the idea to give his armor a night motif, like Morgana's is day.

Originally, I decided that its main color would be black like this concept art, with white engravings like canon!Merlin’s armor. I also decided to add a cape, again, like his concept art.

I really, really wanted to see what it could look like, so I used Artbreeder’s semi-new Collager feature.

I entered "black armor with white engravings and medieval cape covered in stars and galaxies" as the description because I was trying to make it as exact as possible. I made three main designs, but I wasn’t able to choose any of them until I decided to mess around with it again, and his armor got rendered with stars. Eventually, that design became my favorite.

The cape unfortunately didn’t get rendered, but I made a design!

Cape:

I got the actual idea for Merlin having a cape covered in stars from Stolas’ in Helluva Boss, but I also remembered Nyx’s design from Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Its current design is now mostly covered in nebulae, but it does have some stars.

When Merlin has all of his magic/is at his full power, the stars shine and move just like real ones; same with the nebulae. After Morgana steals most of his magic, they’re both dim, along with his armor’s stars. They also don’t move.

To make the design for his cape, I again took advantage of the Collager feature. I used a photo they had (Image One) and Galaxy as the description, and this (Image Two) rendered!

But I wanted to see it on a cape, so I made my own cape template, and added the picture to it using the Magic Wand feature in ibisPaint X.

Then I figured out how to combine it with his armor in Adobe Express!

It’s actually a lot longer, going to about his ankles, but y’know, photo compression.

Helmet:

We’re finally onto his helmet! After making several designs that I was never happy with, I finally have a finalized one, combined with two photos.

I always wanted his helmet to match his armor, being black with white stars, but the photos never came out right because of colors, being too modern, etc. But two photos finally came out right, and gave me the design that I wanted. The first photo is what its main part looks like, except for the horns. It has a visor I guess? like Jim’s helmet, with the ability to magically collapse and materialize. When his visor is up, the only part of his face that can be seen is his eyes. The second photo is what the visor looks like when up, and what I want the horns to look like.

Sword:

A long time ago, before I’d even come up with the idea for his redesign, I did a sword Picrew and made one with a night theme. When I was coming up with his night motif, I remembered it and decided it would fit!

I wanted it to have a more realistic look, though, so I drew a sword using his canon one as a reference. Then I added some of the star photos I made in Artbreeder to it with the Magic Wand feature.

I wanted to give his staff a slight redesign because I feel like DR!Merlin gives off more straight up fantasy design vibes than canon!Merlin.

Instead of always being a staff like canon, Merlin usually keeps it shapeshifted into a ring, which he wears on his right hand’s middle finger.

I also made a shield for him because of his Adaptational Badass characterization!

But besides the new day vs. night symbolism of him and Morgana -which I’m a sucker for- DR!Merlin’s night motif shows that he isn’t a threat to the good trolls; Morgana’s day motif shows that she is.

It would also thematically make sense, given that trolls are creatures of the night. There are a lot of star and night motifs in Trollhunters, but the main one I can think of off the top of my head is the starry sky in the Void.

And here’s a blurb from Jim’s POV as he and Toby learn about Merlin!

Before Blinky started reading, he raised his hand. “Hey, uh, Blinky?” “Yes, Master Jim?” he asked, looking up. “I have a question I wanted to ask you.” “Of course, Master Jim.” he responded, smiling. “What is it?” “The Amulet’s incantation has ‘For the Glory of Merlin’ on it. Is Merlin the guy who created the Amulet?” “Yes, Master Jim.” he answered. Then he paused, confused. “Did I not tell you that?” “You didn’t tell us anything about him,” Tobes pointed out from beside him. All we know about him is from pop culture and speculation, and who knows how accurate any of that is.” “Oh, goodness. I shall fix that immediately!” He shared an excited grin with his best friend before he quickly pulled out his phone. He was definitely recording this. “But before that, I must fetch another book!” the troll exclaimed, making both of them groan. “I will return quickly, I assure you. “AAARRRGGHH!!!, will you hold this?” he asked, holding up the book. “Yes.” “Thank you, old friend.” He handed the book over before walking to the entrance of the Forge. Soon Blinky was back, with another book that looked less old than the one about Killahead. “The Life of Merlin,” he said, gesturing to the book he now held. “An ironic title, because so much of it unknown despite his ancient age.” Wait. Merlin is ancient to them? “But what we do know is compiled in this book- oh.” He stopped, finally noticing Jim’s phone. “What are you doing, Master Jim?” “Recording this to show Mom later.” “Oh, alright. Continuing on-” “Blink, wait. What did you mean that you think he’s ancient? How old is he?” “That, Master Jim, is answer no one knows. But he was around as long as anyone could remember. He was one of the oldest creatures alive, if not the oldest.” Jim saw Toby raise his hand out of the corner of his eye. “Yes, Tobias?” His best friend’s expression was skeptical.“No offense, but you don’t seem to know very much about him despite him being so old.” “That’s true. But he was a very mysterious person. He was the type to never talk about his past unless something reminded him of a past event, or he was asked. And even then, only sometimes.” Toby hummed thoughtfully. “Okay, I’ll buy that. But why can’t we meet him? Did he just leave you like a coward or something?” And Jim might not have known Blinky that well yet, but Toby’s question seemed to make him… sad. “No, Tobias.” he quietly answered. “But that would have been better. He… he died 900 years ago, two weeks after the Battle of Killahead.” Oh. “That's... that's really sad.” Jim said softly. Blinky nodded, his eyes still sad. “The tragic nature of his death only adds to it.” He zoned out for a minute before he shook his head, clearing his throat. “Do either of you have any more questions?” “I think I’m good.” Tobes nodded in agreement.

“AAARRRGGHH!!!, should I start with his physical appearance or his armor?” the troll asked, cracking his knuckles. “Armor.” AAARRRGGHH!!! answered. “Armor?” Toby gasped, eyes shining. “You’re saying that the Merlin wore armor?” Oh, Tobes, he thought, smiling at his best friend. Excited as always. Blinky nodded, grinning. “Whoaaaaa.” Toby whispered, awestruck. “Actually, I probably should have expected that. He literally made Jim’s.” “What did it look like?” Jim asked. “His armor was black, and covered in white stars. His breastplate and pauldrons were dotted with them, and his breastplate also had a giant one in its center. Along with that, he wore a blue, black, purple, and pink cape, also covered in stars. His helmet was black with stars like his armor, and it had two horns like the Daylight helmet. He even wore night themed accessories in his normal attire, such as moon earrings. It was his way of signaling that he was always safe to good magical creatures.” He smiled sadly after that, looking down at the book he was still holding. “Wowww. Wait. How come Jim didn’t get a cape?” “He probably thought inexperience might make a Trollhunter trip over it, or get it snagged in something.” Toby thought about that before nodding. “True. What kind of weapons did he use?” “His usual weapons were his sword and his staff, which was most often shifted into a shield. “Now, onto his physical appearance. “He was quite tall for a human, and his posture was always straight, befitting someone who was a warrior for centuries. He had warm brown skin, with completely white hair. His eyes were a beautiful blue, much brighter than yours, Master Jim. Many have said that they were his most stunning feature, and I agree with them. They were soul-piercing, and you could literally see the millenia that he’d lived in them.” “Whaaaaat? He sounds beautiful.” “On the contrary, Tobias, while his armor was, his face was actually rather hideous.” He opened the book he’d been holding in his top left arm, flipping it to a page before turning it to face them. “I will warn you that some of this is artistic expression because he never fought without his helmet, but otherwise it is very accurate.”

The picture showed Merlin in a moonlit forest, positioned in an awesome fighting pose with his weapons. It looked like he was looking right at them, and a fierce expression was on his face. There were a few seconds of silence. “Blinky, he isn’t hide-” he began. “Oh my gosh.” Tobes suddenly exclaimed. “What?” he asked. “He really was hot.” “TOBES!�� he shouted, mortified, but his best friend just started cackling. It was contagious, and he started laughing pretty quickly. Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! seemed confused at first, but soon they were laughing too. “But like I was trying to say,” he finally managed to get out, “He wasn’t hideous at all.” Blinky looked at AAARRRGGHH!!!, who shrugged. “Well, he was to our standards.” Tobes started studying Merlin’s picture again. “He looks like he came straight out of a fantasy novel. Albeit, far older than the typical protagonist. And far more powerful, right?” “I’m not quite sure of what you’re referring to, but most certainly.” “You never did say how he died.” Jim said softly. “He… was killed. By his own former apprentice.” His mouth dropped. “What?” he asked quietly, shocked. “Damn.” Tobes said, weirdly calmly. “Morgana le Fay betrayed her master, and in the Battle of Killahead, wounded him. Very fortunately, he was still able to win their fight and seal her away. He made it back to Camelot, where he fell asleep. And he… never woke up. Two weeks later, he succumbed to his wounds. “Before those… events, it seemed like nothing could kill him, or even harm him. Sometimes it’s still hard to believe that he’s… gone.” “That’s terrible.” Jim felt his brow furrow. “But also sounds kind of strange. No offense.” Instead of getting annoyed, Blinky nodded vehemently. “I also always thought that the circumstances of his death were strange, as did many others. But he never came back, so he must have died.” Tobes looked skeptical again. “Are you sure he didn’t just fake his death and leave like I said?” “Of course, Tobias.” he answered, and he said it with such conviction that Jim was convinced. “He would have never done that.” Tobes, however, still looked skeptical. “You seem awfully certain of that.” “I am. His personality had many traits, and being sarcastic, brutally honest, abrasive, and stubborn were just a few of them. But he was curious. And kind.” He let out a small laugh. “And he was brave. So very brave. In fact, I would say that bravery was his strongest trait. “During the times of Camelot, Arthur’s wife, Guinevere, was killed by a stalkling, and the grieving king ordered the magical world to be wiped out. Most of us fled or hid, but Merlin stayed in Camelot, right at Arthur's side. “Humans either thought he was foolish to, or praised him for his loyalty. But Merlin was secretly protecting us, committing treason in doing so. He took on a new identity and alias: Myrrdin Wylt. “He actively fought against the bloodshed in any way he could under that disguise. He started by showing up at executions being held, and freeing the poor creatures sentenced to death. Such blatant acts of rebellion, of treason, didn’t go unnoticed, of course, and he was brought before the king. “He stood up to Arthur, calling him out on his vengeance against all of us when it was one stalking. He even asked the humans in the room how they would feel if the situation was reversed. “He didn’t change his mind, so Merlin doubled his efforts. He started to make the Amulet to help defend us against the Gumm-Gumms and humans, and he kept breaking us free and helping us hide. “If he was requested to help capture or kill us, he always made excuses or conveniently disappeared. If good trolls were killed and brought back to Camelot, he revived them and made illusions of them in their places. “Does he really seem like someone who would just leave now?”

“…No.” Tobes finally admitted. Yes! “You guys seem like you really love him.” “And he loved us. Humans tended to think of us magic-kind as monsters, but he never treated us any differently than humans. “He always loved magic and discovering new things about it, while most humans found the very idea of magic and its potential frightening. “I already explained how he was our protector.” Blinky continued. He picked up the book and flipped the pages to more pictures, of Merlin laughing, playing with whelps, and holding a child. “He was our hope bringer. He was the mightiest wizard and greatest wielder of magic to have ever lived, and he always used his power to help us. “Heartstone Trollmarket became the beautiful safe haven it is today because we just did what we thought he would have done.” He stopped, sighing. “Sometimes… I like to look around here, our home, and think about how much he would have loved it.” “Now, onto the history of Killahead!” He took the first book he’d given to AAARRRGGHH!!! back, opening it. “It used to be just an ordinary bridge, but during the Battle of Killahead…” Jim didn’t feel himself begin to fall asleep.

I’ll probably flesh this out even more later.

Anyways, it’s set during “Gnome Your Enemy”! Jim stays awake for the explanation about Merlin, then he falls asleep during the retelling of the Battle of Killahead like in canon.

I’ll just send it before I sleep since it’s 3 AM lol So like I said I am planning on making an amphibia tarot deck! Like I said this is just the early stage) I have been also trying to come up with an art style for the deck since I don’t want it to just be my art style, I was thinking something a bit more realistic (still semi-cartoony since I can’t do realism + I’m not a big fan of full on realism) With a sketchy feel, either in black and white or with colored pencils. I’m probably gonna draw these physically, I could print but it’s something I’m not keen on, I really have no experience drawing things to be printed or how to size them n shit, I’m also just planning on making them for myself and not using a card making website or anything

SCREECH OKAY SO FIRST OF ALL THIS IS SO COOL

I have a MAJOR hyperfixation on tarot and on designing decks—I’ve fully designed one of my own with my cat OCs from back in 2020, and I went through MakePlayingCards to get a physical copy of it made. It’s not perfect, but it’s my baby and I’m obsessed with it and I use it for like 90% of my tarot readings. SO. YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.

Through trial and error i have found that the size of the canvas that works best for tarot cards on IbisPaint is 1031X1781 plus adding in margins of your own choosing for however you wanna frame it. The MakePlayingCards website is generally pretty easy to navigate and allows a mostly painless step by step process of inputting all your designs to be manufactured. They helpfully offer guidelines on where pieces of your design could get cut off during printing so you can adjust accordingly and you know I was using the shit out of that. My deck took a little over a month to get to me because of covid reasons but it’s not too bad of a wait for something so important! But this is only if you decide go digitally.

I cannot comment much on making them traditionally as I’ve never done it before, but I know blank tarot cards absolutely exist, and you can purchase those and draw your designs directly on top if you’re feeling brave. OR, if you’re feeling fancy, you could draw your designs separately and transfer them using a charcoal technique like this one

I had to learn that in art class—it’s pretty helpful if you’ve got your hands on charcoal or just any soft pencil in general, and it’ll be super helpful so you don’t have to worry about that One Little Mistake that fucks the entire drawing up.

As for the style, a sketchy semi-realism is a fun way to go! I’m actually doing something like that for my second deck (which I have not worked on in forever oops) so like. Feel free to take a peek uwu

I will warn you that using a style you’re unfamiliar with is gonna be EXCRUCIATING to deal with for 78 cards straight. Even your own style can get tedious after a considerable amount of time—and they do take a LOT of time (mine took Five Months)—so bear that in mind when you’re choosing your style because you’re most likely gonna want to commit to that style for the entire deck. Going simple is always best (in my first deck I didn’t even DO very much complex shading until the later cards and yet I like them better than I do my bird deck thus far)

The other thing you’re gonna wanna worry about is how deeply you wanna entrench your drawings in tarot symbolism and such… when I was making my deck I deliberately bore in mind that each of the four suits of the Minor Arcana encapsulate the four elements, Wands being Fire, Cups being Water, Pentacles being Earth, and Swords being Air. I incorporated some kind of each element into as many of the cards as I could.

I did a lot of parallels with certain cards too (like these) so if that’s something you’re up for haha. I recommend using the Rider Waite deck as a guide for what each card tends to depict and what symbolism to put on them if you think it’ll fit. God knows I was glaring bullets at it as I made my own.

BUT ANYWAY ANYWAY im gonna go on a tangent if I keep talking about that, I wanna talk about ur SELECTIONS

Marcy as the fool is Fitting, not much to say on that. Interesting choice to put Grime as the magician, but what I particularly like about that selection is that the magician in the Reverse indicates Manipulation. Extra points for flavor ✨VALERIANA IS THE HIGH PRIESTESS *bangs fists on table* YES. I almost wish we knew what the Mother of Olms looks like because I would’ve threw her on The Empress, but Felicia works very well too. Of Course Andrias is the Emperor. I’m intrigued on why you chose Hop pop as The Hierophant—I might’ve gone with the Toad Lord Aldo to be honest, but that’s just me hehe.

Obviously the calamity trio are the lovers, and I LOVE the choice of Frobo as the chariot HOLY SHIT you could even draw him as the tiny Frobo on wheels!! Strength being Sasha is HILARIOUS not only because she has the Strength Gem but also because the Strength card is about staying strong in the face of hardship (just draw her having a mental breakdown i stg I’m wheezing). Wally as the Hermit is also hilarious love that for him 💜. And OOOOH THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE IS AN INTERESTING ONE!! You can actually draw Lysil and Angwin in a circle, conveniently enough HAHA. I adore Anne as Justice wtf. I’m curious about your decision to make cloakbot the hanged man, but holy FUCK the hERON ATTACK FOR DEATH IS GONNA BE MORBID thanks for sharing.

Temperance and The Devil are PERFECT, might I offer that in the devil, put Andrias and Marcy in chains there with the core (if u know the devil card u know what I’m talking about) The Tower and The Star are GREAT, yes. I’m VERY interested to know what you’re doing with the Sun and Moon, and I like how Marcy’s in both of them that’s really fun. Like. Two completely different tones on her role in the story sounds So Cool. Judgement and The World are *chefs kiss* too get out.

The Wands cards are super perfect actually like I’m losing it over Five of Wands and Queen of Wands—Sasha is so accurate. The Cup cards are also super perfect again but might I suggest the calamity trio for Three of Cups too? This is totally for personal reasons I just think they’d look cute dancing in a field of flowers together, and you can always put Sasha and Grime with Wartwood on the Ten of Cups—it’s another harmony card haha.

Storytime with Maggy!

Just getting this off my chest because this has been boiling up inside my head for a while. This will be a long one so don't bother to read it if u don't want to; this is legit just so I can get it off my chest.

Ok so

Some people that follow me here on tumblr know me from the BATIM Amino. I used to be very active there, even being one of the biggest content creators (I'm not saying that lightly I was literally on the Top 15 when it came to that weird reputation points system) . I recently left Amino as a whole because of something that happened there.

So the story goes like this: I was 13 when I started posting on Amino. Bendy and the Ink Machine Chapter 2 had just come out and I was drawing fanart of it. After a while I started talking more with other artists there, making ocs, just having fun. It went well for a few months until I met this person. For the sake of anonymity, I'll call them HWI (it was an acronym to their persona's name or something).

So I'd been checking out this HWI person for a while now. I really liked their art style and this specific character they had. They had this classy killer 1800s style and I'm an absolute sucker tor those. One day, I got the courage to message them with a small piece of fanart. They replied and liked it, and then the conversation went on.

We commented on each other's art, rp sometimes, we became really close. They later on introduced me to their other friends and we made a small group chat on Amino. We rpd a LOT to pass the time and just play with our characters. I remember staying up late just to talk to them about how my day went. I wasn't very social at the time and I had the bad habit of grabbing onto the first friend I could make like my life depended on it.

So 2018 came around. I was diagnosed with autism, at the time still called Asperger's Syndrome. All I knew was that I finally had a face to put on the problem of "being weird"; it wasn't a problem at all. It was different sure but I wasn't broken or less that anyone else. I didn't told anyone online about my diagnoses because well I was coming to terms with it myself first. This will come in hand later so stick with me.

With time I started realizing I had a favorite character of them that I just liked way way more than the others; that same oc I spoke about earlier. I had no fucking idea why I liked them so much it just??? it happened, and I believe HWI realized that.

We had these two ocs. One of them was mine and the other was their oc, and we kinda shipped them so we just made them a couple for the heck of it. I had lots of fun doing rps and fanart of those two but I never understood why. After a while, HWI started acting a bit weird. They did a total 180 on said character, randomly making them rude and unlikable. Now I know that it was just an rp and I shouldn't have taken it seriously, but it was bumming me out a little: the only place I had to vent out stuff and to take a break was now making me feel bad.

I was stupid by making those small moments the pillar of my self confidence. I was in a rough spot at the time and latched onto that group chat like it was the only good thing I had in life. I now know I shouldn't have done that.

I didn't had the guts to step up and tell HWI to at least don't be so rude so I kinda just took it. A few months went by and I finally had the courage to stand up against them. I had realized at the time that I was having a hyperfixation on said character and I told HWI to just not be that rude. They said they didn't meant it and told me they would stop. Except they didn't.

Then followed 3 years of having HWI dangle that character over my head like some treat for a dog. They'd threaten to stop using said character or to delete their stuff if I didn't behave in the way they wanted. If I had an opinion about something and they didn't liked it, they threatened me with that stuff. I now look back at it and realise "That was just some stupid random character why was I so scared and in panic?" But I was young, didn't had good role models and didn't knew better.

I moved to an arts school when I started 10th grade. There I met a lot of people who were like me; everyone had their very distinctive quirks and troubles they were coming to terms with, people were discovering themselves. Everyone was so different from each other, but everyone respected everyone and the whole school lived in harmony. I felt like I finally fitted in, I started making lots of friends and my life changed for the better.

In 11th grade, I finally told my friends about what had been happening for 3 years now. They knew about my previous problems at home and about my autism so they told me that they thought I'd been groomed by HWI. I didn't believed them at the time; HWI had been so nice to me and helped me through a lot in my life. Then I finally took a step back, and it hit me.

I never liked HWI. They were indeed very rude and manipulative, but they had something I loved so much that I'd become submissive to the point of believing that was normal, that it was the way to treat friends. They were 20 when I was 13. I thought it was ok at the time, until they started asking for fanart and favors in exchange for rp time, and pushing sexual rps onto me a lot. They would tell me that they were the only one who could understand me, that the rest of the world was just filled with evil corrupt people and I fucking believed in everything they said. They would bring down the mood of the whole chat with their negativity to the point other people started complaining about it. I remember having a breakdown mid-lunch break when it finally hit me. I'd been groomed.

But, thank goodness, this has a good ending. As I realized that I had to get out of this situation, I quickly came up with a plan. I had tried multiple times to go without said hyperfixation but I would always end up having panic attacks and just not feel well. So the plan was to try and get said character to my side and run off as quickly as I could. I knew they didn't liked the character at all and were just using it to control me so I knew I could do some kind of art trade with them and get the character. After a while of asking if I could have the character since they weren't using it anymore, they said they would give him to me in exchange of some fanart, demanding it to be very very good or either they would refuse to give the oc. I rushed to ibispaint, drew something I was dead sure they would like and sent it. And then it was done.

I stayed in the chat for some extra weeks as if trying to prove myself wrong; that HWI was a good person and this was all a big misunderstanding. But it wasn't. They continued being toxic and manipulative, but they didn't had anything to use against me now. I left the chat and a few months later the Amino as a whole.

So to anyone who finds themselves in a situation similar to this one, here's a piece if advice: get out of that shit as fast as you can. I know there are people who have it WAY worse than me, but I don't wish for anyone to go through something even remotely similar to what happened to me.

If you find yourself in a toxic relationship, get out of there as fast as you can. No matter how many lies they tell you, that no one else would love you or understand you, that only they can handle what you are; it's all bullshit. There are somany people out there who would protect you and fight for you with their life. Heck you find yourself with a toxic friend but are scared to leave them because they're your only friend? Hit me up! I'll gladly be your friend!

People deserve so much more than feeling like they're emotionally dependant on someone else. Self-love and self-worth were two of the best things that I learned to have since I left that toxic relationship, and everyone deserves to feel good and to be proud of themselves FOR themselves.

Wow this was... long XD so yeah. HWI is also on tumblr but don't go searching for them. I told them off and that's it. As the meme goes, the evil has been defeated XD I will be posting stuff with those two ocs since I'm kinda removing them from the BATIM fandom and making them kinda just their own thing. I still love them to pieces and want to draw them so so much!
