Ive gotta be honest , initially I wrote it off as like "oh they are talking about one thing but they are actually talking about something else" but at this point I've seen the complaint enough times, what do people mean they are complaining about transfem characters in manga/anime not looking "trans" enough? Like, I can for sure see this as a complaint in maybe in some art styles , but it feels incomprehensible to me when in the majority of manga the only major artistic differences between young cis male characters and cis female characters are height, hair length , and breast size. Sometimes they will also have somewhat sharper drawn features. Height is something that is extremely variable, but like one of the complaints I just read was specifically about that, drawing trans women as just taller cis women.

What is the alternative that you are imagining? Drawing transfem characters as more masculine than the male characters? Cause there are already characters like that in anime and manga, and IMO they are mostly just offensive. And tbh even less representative of IRL transfems than like the "cis girl but taller and with smaller boobs" approach.
