ArmPol and ArmTankhun?

Ok for ArmPol I'm probably on the side of don't ship it.

Why don't you ship it?

I have nothing against them as a ship, but one big that kind of annoys me about media/fandom in general is this need to pair every character off romantically with somebody. It's the aromantic in me who is just like "you know it's ok for characters to be single or just be friends, it's fine!" And ArmPol have the pair the spares energy that tends to turn me off a of ship unfortunately. I just personally don't see any compelling reason to ship them beyond they are both there and they aren't paired with anyone else. Not to mention, I kind of do lowkey ship Arm/Pete in an unrequited/we were never going to work kind of way because they sometimes seem to have this unspoken understanding between them. But me feeling that vibe between Arm and Pete just reinforces that I don't feel that vibe with ArmPol.

2. What would have made you like it?

You know what I'm not really sure what would have made me ship it. Even if we had stronger canon evidence of them being a pair or if they actually were a pair, I probably would have still felt a certain apathy for them for the same reasons as above.

3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

Oh yeah. They are fun! They seen some shit together and I totally vibe with them in a platonic "can you believe this shit? so glad it's not us!" way. And I'm definitely not trying to knock them as a ship, it's just not my thing.

As for ArmTankhun I don't know that I can answer the ship question because it had just never occurred to me before and now my brain is going "Oh. Hmm. Interesting." I will say that I tend to headcanon Tankhun as ace spec so there's that. But also if I think any character would still be shippable with an ace!Tankhun, Arm is like...perfect. So I don't know! But I now very much want to find someone who does ship them and say "Hey. Talk to me. I want to know your thoughts. Lay out the ship manifesto. I'm interested."

Now that you planted ArmTankhun thoughts in all of our heads - do you ever think about how Arm literally pushed Tankhun "towards danger" and ran away when he thought that Pete came back to haunt them? (The funeral scene is hilarious but still... 💀)

Do you think Tankhun rebukes Arm for that?

Does this situation turn into a big emotional talk?

Or do they only end up bickering about the fact that they would both willingly sacrifice the other in the face of the supernatural? (I mean, Tankhun also didn't hesitate to burn Arm's paper doll... 😂)

Anyways. I'd love to hear your thoughts / headcanon on this. :)

as a nodt and tong stan i had obviously considered khunbig, but i’d dismissed it fairly quickly in a kind of “okay they’d be hot af together but how/why would this ever happen?” way… and then a few weeks ago my wife and i were thinking about big backstory and accidentally set up a perfect scenario for fucked-up one-time khunbig and i changed my mind. khunbig UNDISMISSED!

agaiiiin like most of my ship thoughts it’s not a cutesy falling in love happy ever after kind of vibe 🙅🏼 but colour me intrigued by the possibilities for adding more pain and bad decisions into big’s life, and maybe spice up the armtankhun mutual pining era hehehe
