Live hurricane updates got me like
#I'm trying to laugh but i have a family member i really care about stuck in it right now and the updates are legitimately terrifying#mailbox has been blown away; trees are snapping in two; the gutters have been blown off the house + shingles are also being lost#it looked like there was already a massive amount of flooding early in too; i had to evacuate bc of storm surge#they're not in a flood zone but like. this is basically a cat 5#my parents apparently said there was nowhere to evacuate to - as if hurricane shelters don't exist#my mother ''didn't like [the idea of going to a shelter] :////'' and I'm about to foam at the mouth#if it was just my parents it wouldnt matter all that much to me; they would live with the consequences of their actions#but my sibling is also there and. this is a trauma formation moment. i hate my parents!!!!#i have complex feelings regarding my parents!!! but how do you have the news on all the time + have genuine paranoia#regarding the world and then make the choice to stay put during a cat 5..... how do you do that. i do not understand#hoatm rants
