"Oh, fuck no." The door is slammed, unfortunately for him, the guy stuck his foot in the jamb and pushed it open again.

"C'mon luv!" Constantine smiles charmingly, not waiting for Danny and entering the apartment.

At least Batman, Nightwing and Spoiler had the patience to wait for him to invite them in. Sagging against the door, he beckoned them inside.

Despite the caution, Spoiler gleefully stepped in, looking around like a child in an amusement park— which might not be too far off.

His apartment is, with all its wards and enchantments, very magical inside than it is outside.

The planetary system of another world, used as light for the living room and for practice.

(Nightwing is careful with what he touches. He still remembers the hours they spent in Mumbo Jumbo's hat.)

Batman on the other hand is following Constantine and Danny to what he assumes to be the office, if the amount of magical stuff carelessly laying around means anything.

"Alright fucker, what are you doing here? And how did you even know I live in gotham?"

John had the audacity to look abashed, scratching the back of his head with a nervous chuckle.

"Something came up and you know Gotham doesn't like me. She is much more used to you and I wanted to introduce bats to you, in case of emergency."

The young adolence stares owlishly.

(How did Constantine expect him to act at the fact that he's trusting a magical situation into the hands of a stranger?

Batman isn't sure how good the boy even is!)

"That's incredible thoughtful of you Connie." Danny hums. "What did you lose for your sorry ass to come here?"

Spoiler snorts, petting a red salamander. "He didn't lose anything." She reassures with a wave, giving an exaggerated smile and raising her brows to show that she's finding it very amusing.

Constantine sputters.

"Ancient knows how Zatanna and Raven deal with him."

Nighteing perks up from the side where he'd looked over the books, some pixie fairies(?) fawning over him? "Raven? You know her?"

Danny suppresses another sigh.

#fave spotting #robert shaw #the adventures of the scarlet pimpernel #classic tv #itp #itc #1955 #more info on this series (and why it's an ITP production but also ITC) in the tags on my prev Pat Troughton fave spotting post #Robert wasn't quite a newcomer at this point‚ having been acting onscreen for a couple of years by now‚ but he certainly #hadn't made it yet; this might have been his big break‚ except that his character never reappears after this first episode #i suspect this acted as a pilot‚ with some of the establishing footage reappearing in a later ep and with Shaw's character being #replaced for the series by two helpers for the Pimpernel‚ played by Pat Troughton and Anthony Newlands #quite why Bob left idk; there isn't a huge amount of information out there about this near 70 yr old bit of tv obscurity #but he did alright; the following year he'd take the lead in one of ITC's next ventures The Buccaneers and shortly after that #he'd start landing film roles that would ultimately catapult him to Hollywood and to big screen immortality #added to which of course he was already making a name for himself on the english stage (and by the end of the decade he'd be adding #novelist to his list of accomplishments). he's very good here tho naturally falling into a supporting role; he's there to look #impressed by Goring's genius and feats of bravery and to occasionally lend a hand in a fight. i do think Troughton and Newlands #get more character to play with in their parts but then they get multiple appearances to help them with it #The Buccaneers is on my shelf where it has sat for some years now... one day... one day....

One fateful day, Craig's opportunity arrived in the form of a stray pencil left unattended on the edge of his page. Did that fav pkmn thing on a whim and I'm sorry for all my babies I didn't choose bc I really like too many by some.

Love how it's mostly pretty ones and then there's clodsire. Even tho I got it in my team since the beginning of violet do I continuously forget its name bc I just call it by the nickname blobby (one of the rare times I didn't spend hours googling the perfect nickname but it nonetheless is a perfect one)

And for fun without any legendaries as fav

Reg nicknames I even write all down so I only spend decades once for each pkmn (unless I don't like the prev one anymore). Need to update that someday since it's mostly old revolution ones but hey. Blaze do I use for arcanine nowadays more and ninetails got others. Gardevoir got soteria nowadays which I prefer more. Etc.

so i applied for a DREAM JOB and out of 6000 applicants!!! I ended up in the final 15 😟

…and I did SOOOOO soooooo well til the very last round 😔 i accidentally became privy to some scathing information from the judging panel. ouuuuuuuchhhh lol my insecurities.

proud of myself for being true to myself and getting far as i did, though.

#also i got covid so feeling a bit self pitying at the moment #i honestly have massive beef with their criticisms #i left this country when i was 5 and have ended up with a lot of cultural differences #sorry English ppl reading this but i feel like the UK is very caught up on appearances. for example:#it’s an outdoorsy job and the panel were unimpressed i didn’t come in my hiking boots + wet weather gear #umm…. yeah because we are SITTING INSIDE ON A SUMMER’S DAY???#it felt like posing to me? i grew up in rural NZ so I’ve spent majority of my life in the bush #PS most of the hiking boots i did see were obviously pristine and never taken on an actual hike 🙄#yes i own that stuff. no im not gonna wear it just to prove a point. i wore jeans and the same shoes ive been wearing while hiking across #europe these last 2 months.#also the NZ wilderness is so much more rugged like these hikes in UK/europe would barely count as a casual day walk to me #so our standards are very different #and we both left feeling quite unimpressed with each other I think #i’ll provide one more rant: one of the exercises involved wiring up a plug. i did it successfully but failed cos I didn’t plug it in after #well um. my mama is a scientist and taught me not to fuck with electricity unless i’m 100% sure #yes I did all the wiring right but it was still my first time so I’m being cautious. apparently that’s a bad thing 🤷‍♀️#enough rants from me but basically yeah lots of little things like that which I disagree with
