Hi!

It has been a few days and your advice has done wonders. I have dumped almost every book I own in the room, and although I'm not yet sure how they like my collection of fantasy YA, manga, and a questionable monster romcom, it has helped. I am still looking for tea they like as I am quite boring and only drink jasmine tea. The chessboard... we're working on that. I tried one supervised session and... well... let's say that we all lived. Barely.

As for chapter two... I thought I was over my irrational fear of things happening to eyes after that one scene in final destination. I was wrong. I was very very very wrong. The description was gross. I hated it. I can still feel my skin crawl if I think about it. I can feel the panic that Zayis felt. It was gross. It was marvelous.

I wish I could write a 1000-word essay with proper words and sentences that make sense to describe my thoughts. Unfortunately, it would just become word-vomit of how good it is, how much I love these two idiots, your ability to just make me feel things, and to want to protect them at all costs. They're like scrunkly feral little kittens. must. protecc.

i’m so glad to hear the suggestions worked out in your favour! from personal experience, i know that, while their tastes may vary, if the two of them get desperate enough they'll read pretty much anything. especially zayis who (and don't tell her i told you) has been known to indulge in a few monster romances in her time.

as for the chessboard, i can only imagine the hijinx that occured. hopefully astarion played fair and zayis didn't break the board in half. (she does that sometimes when astarion wins too many games.)

regarding chapter two, apologies for the descriptions of ocular trauma. as someone who also has eyes i felt a bit squeamish myself writing all that so i can't imagine reading it without prior knowledge as to what's going on. hopefully i didn't traumatize you too much. just enough to keep you on your toes.

finally, i understand the need to write an essay on thoughts. it's literally why i'm writing this silly little fic. also because of people like you who make all the hard work worthwhile! so thank you, and godspeed with your impatient feline friend. i await your next ask!

so. fucking. niamh maxwell. my pride and joy. my scrunkly wunkly. the cinnamon roll that must be protected at all costs. SHE!!!!!!!!!

niamh is so pure, kindhearted, innocent and oblivious by nature, but also because of the way she's brought up.

her parents are super protective of her and her two brothers (kev (age 7) and benjamin (age 5)) and like. cover up all the bad stuff so she's like a sheltered child. for years of her life, actually, she was homeschooled so she wouldn't be subjected to seeing the bad things in life.

and like sheltering your children is bad and stuff because idk??? it just stops them from enjoying things and knowing what the fuck is going on and what some things are (see: pearl fey) but NIAMH'S PARENTS ACTUALLY ARE SUPER SMART

THEY TAUGHT THEIR DAUGHTER EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING.

niamh's parents are super smart, actually. like niamh's dad was super good at the piano (and taught niamh how to play it) and both parents studied language and did lots of language studies (like grace!!!!) so niamh is semifluent in spanish and mandarin which is super cool and awesome and so smart they taught her that, but they stupidly sheltered their kids because they were so worried about their childrens' safety!!!!!!!

NIAMH'S PARENTS CARE SO MUCH. THEY TAUGHT NIAMH ALL THE IMPORTANT LIFE SKILLS (cooking, cleaning, sorting rubbish, fixing, first aid and the like) AND SO MUCH SCHOOL SUBJECT STUFF BECAUSE THEY WANTED THE BEST FOR HER.

AND THEY TAUGHT HER ALL THE MORALS TOO!!!!!!!!!!

THEY TAUGHT HER HOW TO TREAT OTHERS AND HOW TO BE KIND AND ALL TYPES OF MANNERS AND AHGDOWNSLFNRKJR

so when she first started school, niamh was like. better than everyone and it was impressive, but she was STILL so oblivious to the outside world, knowing next to nothing about violence, war or politics, and was really innocent compared to everyone else in school (and probably the nicest person too)

also niamh is best friends with eilidh thompson. eilidh saw this sweet little joyous being and instantly attatched herself to her to prevent her from losing her childlike nature, innocence and joy. (protecting the smolbean, basically)

tl;dr, niamh is a precious cinnamon roll who is incapable of hatred, and despite being sheltered, is super smart (unlike me LMAO)

you ask me about my favorite current interest even though it is not your own? you ask me like a good mutual? oh! oh! hearts for as-dreamers-do! hearts for as-dreamers-do for a thousand years!!!!!!! (jkjk obviously i'm still interested in all kinds of things but this week is dmc love)

ANYWAYS~ (this is gonna be a mess bc my brain is a tired distracted wreck)

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) AGONY they're all my faves but if we're being 10000% honest based on my art/writing....vergil i guess. even though i love dante too with my whole heart and soul i PROMISE. vergil is just my mental health comfort character (though honestly if my day is getting too bad...nope time to resort to dante bc vergil isn't very healthy). also his sword is just SO COOL i want a katana that can cut space. and he wears old-fashioned clothes! and talks kinda formal! and has sorta skinny jeans legs! i am (mildly) represented.

scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped) nero. perfect, precious, protect at all costs. foster dad loves girlfriend steady job somehow holding the single sparda braincell. setting standards for genuinely good men and tbh that's only a handful of characters for me. has done nothing wrong ever. got blue translucent wings thru the power of love. angry at all times. feral child. i love him (both dmc4&5 versions).

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave) i feel like kyrie is underappreciated by capcom AND NEEDS MORE CONTENT ON SCREEN c'mon all our fanfics out here doing all the heavy lifting.

(also someone please get her better outfits ASAP she looks like she can't decide whether she's going to a funeral as a 40 yr old widow or to a wedding 😩)

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) I KNOW PATTY ISN'T AN OBSCURE FAVE IN CANON AS A WHOLE but in the videogames she's only there as a voice for like 10 seconds and i need more of her. also my non-dmc friends must be so confused whenever i talk about the weapons as if they were people. (oh look, yamato, rebellion, ebony and ivory, blue rose, beowulf...etc.)

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave) he isn't problematic, unpopular, nor controversial, but he sure is pathetic...Vergil my beloved. sir ur comic literally saves me.

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) i think i do this to vergil. i'm sorry. we're in this together.

eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell) mundus is already in hell and if i were to see him again i wouldn't send him to superhell i'd strangle him with my own two hands i would kill him i hate him so much if he ever lays a finger on any of my boys again it's on SIGHT. angus and sanctus and arkham can all go to superhell tho. plus sid and that random rapey prison guard in dmc anime and whatever that villain in dmc2 was called who was so boring i forgot his name.

blorbo - I have a lot of blorbos but I want to give some at least one space to each one of these categories. I'm gonna say it's the besteban! Love him since "First Day or Rule" to "Coronation Day." He was by far the best character in this entire show who deserves love and affection!

scrunkly- Isabel. This child is so pure and sweet. She'll be a great inventor and an amazing woman, but also this sweet little girl must be protected of all cost! Isabel is also one of my favorite of EOA

scrimblo bimblo- *deep inhales* ORIZABA! My baby girl is quite an underrated character. I honestly don't see as much fannart as the other characters have and that is a shame. She was really fun and her design is so pretty. I need to give my girl more love and appreciation, she deserves more than just be overshadow by the other main villains (Same with Fierooooooo.)

glup shitto- Victor Delgado. He's an incredible single dad, had great liners, and his chemistry with the other characters was on point. He just brings a smile in my face and I will scream in excitement when I see him. I could say it's also Shuri but we all know where she actually belongs in this post. I also gonna say Chatana. She was pretty fun but sadly didn't had enough screen time.

poor little meow meow - We all know it's Shuriki. Ever since this later appeared in my screen she became my instant problematic child and I love her.

horse plinko - Esteban & Shuriki, but mostly Riki. I love this babies so much that I want to protect them and also write them in quite miserable stories with sad backgrounds and dark elements because this is what I do with characters I just simply love.

eeby deeby - Cristobal. I'm not a very big fan of this character and I killed him first in a fanfic in my DA which is currently in hiatus (It's esteriki, so be warned). I could also say Ash, but she was not that unlikable.
