Ohhh now these are some heavy hitting questions 😂 Let’s see how long these answers might get LOL
🌻 what makes you want to give up on writing? what makes you keep going? Oh this question is just going to punch me in the face right off the bat, huh? 😂😂😂
Currently going through a bit of a hiatus writing wise and a lot of times I just. Think about permanently giving up a lot lol It’s coming up 2-2.5 years now but writing has not only been hard but I have barely published anything and scrounging up enough to write even 100 words can be so much. I have lots of thoughts and ideas but even just thinking about them to try to put it to pen and paper is just…a lot.
It’s not the first time I’ve had a writing hiatus, I had a 10 year one before (which sounds like a lot but I literally started writing back in elementary school, for some context lol) and while a lot happened during that time, I never thought I would get back to writing again. Something did eventually and I got back but I’ve been having periodic moments on and off since 2016, but never as long as this. (Usually only for a few months)
There is a lot that makes me wanna give up, but I try to give myself the room just NOT to actually do it. To do any writing or thinking on it or whatever. What keeps the idea going is that one day I’ll want to get back to it and I won’t have all this pain and fear and other negative stuff attached to it when I do, even if it really does take years to come back. It’s never really permanent no matter how my brain likes to fool me lol
🍭 why did you start writing? Originally it was an assignment a teacher gave me back in second? grade lol but eventually I just had too much fun getting the words out. (There’s some notebook out there with past me’s 100 chapter story lmao granted this was back in 2nd-3rd grade so who knows how good it is or how long those chapters are 😂)
And because I also had a lot of thinky thoughts back then, I also thought writing down my thoughts, feelings, and things like that were important and why I’ve basically journaled like 90% of my life handwritten. Haven’t really stopped, and when I got into writing fic it was just like “oh I can imagine scenarios with characters I like???”
Simple motives but it never really leaves you lol
💎 why is writing important to you? At this point, I’ve done writing practically my entire life, and it’s an important part of who I am. But also being able to journal and write down thoughts and feelings has been good and therapeutic to me but also this tangible thing to be like, I’m here, I existed, that was important enough. Being able to express myself and get all these feelings out and connect through word is indescribable how much it’s worth is to me.
🤲 what do YOU get out of writing? I guess this is a bit tied to the other questions but I get a lot. Like yeah, a snapshot of how I feel, or able to process emotions I was feeling, but also being able to have a voice — especially when I’m feeling like I don’t have one or I’m being silenced (however temporarily). But with with writing poetry or songs or stories, there’s something there at the end of it and it’s like I did that, that’s me! And maybe I got enjoyment or whatever in the process. But it’s fun seeing how people react and connect to the thing I did.

i mean i think there's some inevitable change involved just with like growing and getting stronger the more you write, so in that sense it's definitely changed, but i don't think i deviate much from one fic to the very next fic, yk? there are a few fics that might be more stylized (like the angel/demon au), but generally i think i'm far enough into writing (and generally just old enough) that my writing style has kind of solidified, and i don't really have plans to change it rn
💞: what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language

🕯️: was there a fic that was really hard on you to write, or took you to a place you didn't think it would take you?
the angel/demon au linked above, funnily enough, was really difficult for me to write. i was pushing through like months of writer burnout and still trying to create, while also working through some various religion thoughts (i have a very complicated relationship with my faith), which was just kind of a recipe for me hating everything i wrote in it. i've grown to be really proud of it, but i was in a bad place with writing when it got published, and actually had to have a friend read it and assure me it wasn't absolutely awful to be able to publish it
also this one is unfinished and might never be finished/published, but i've had an ongoing wip for a good while now where sam has an eating disorder, and that one is hard to work on for a lot of various (probably obvious) reasons, and i'm usually not in a great headspace when i do actually work on it, which is sad bc i honestly do really like what i have on it thus far

Last song - Mirrored Heart by FKA Twigs. She’s such an amazingly creative artist.
Last film - I’ll cheat and do two.
The last film I watched was one I’ve seen before: the 1943 version of Jane Eyre with Joan Fontaine and Orson Welles. I know it’s not a faithful adaptation - but virtually no-one seems to do a truly faithful version of the book. The charm lies in the mood for me - and in the fact that Welles is perfect as Rochester. He’s brooding and Byronic, with just the right amount of vulnerability.
The film before that was a new one for me: The Blackcoat’s Daughter. I don’t want to say too much about it in case anyone wants to watch it - but I’ll say it was a genuine slow build of dread - with some genuinely frightening moments. A properly crafted horror film.
Currently watching - I’m having one of those patches with TV right now where I’m finding it hard to sit down and start a new thing: it just feels like too much. I’ll try to start the second season of Call My Agent (the French one. The British one was :/)
Current obsession - I had two migraine weekends in a row, which means my house is now untidy, and I am quietly seething and obsessing over getting it where it should be. Actually - this question has made me realise that I need to take some time from non-work and chores for an actually interesting obsession: this is probably why I’m fixating and irritable on home stuff. So thank-you for asking :)

1. Favorite Tavern
Tati doesn't spend much time in taverns. Maybe the Frozen Hearth for its proximity with the College of Winterhold.
2. Favorite Drink
Spiced Wine! It brings her back to the King's Effigy on Solitude, after she helped restore the festival. Free wine and meat pies, stomach warming!
3. Travel Companion
Tati usually travels alone. Game wise, it's more practical to travel on her own so she doesn't risk losing a non essential follower (which is why after the Dawnguard DLC, Serana will be a frequent companion in travelling, since she doesn't die); Story wise, I believe Tatianna to be quite a reserved person; it's not that she doesn't like to be around people, just that she needs her own space. Sometimes, she would like to be more open to other people, to work in a team, to let people in, though.
4. Wealthy or not?
She has acquired quite the amount of gold with her various travels around Skyrim, her becoming Thane in three holds and the archmage of the College, and I'd say she has become rather wealthy.
5. Worships the Aedra or the Daedra?
Tatianna was raised within the Vigil of S'tendarr, so she mostly opposes the Daedra on principle. She doesn't hate all Daedra, thought, and there's one particular Daedra that will have an impact on her life... As for Aedra, she worships S'tendarr (for her upbringing), Julianos (for being a mage), Kynareth/Kyne (since Kyne was the one who taught the Thu'um to mortals) and Akatosh (because she's Dragonborn).
6. Biggest Fear
To lose control of herself, or sense of who she is - again (story wise). To become a "bad" person, to hurt her loved ones.
7. Pet Peeves
I've never thought about it.
8. Do they like being dragonborn?
When she first discovers it, Tati can barely believe it, and often questions why her. Then, she begins seeing at a responsability first and foremost, and while she is fighting Alduin, she doesn't question much the meaning of her nature. After defeating Alduin, questions will resurge, specially when she finds out about the First Dragonborn...
9. Favorite faction
The college of Winterhold. She hasn't given much thought to the other factions around Skyrim, and is pretty much a mage at heart. Plus, she has a certain "lone wolf" streak to herself...
10. An object of sentimental value
Never thought much about it, maybe the first enchanted robes she wore as a vigilant, because her father, who was a vigilant, gifted them to her. They serve as a something to remember her family by, even if she's not with the Vigil anymore.
11. Hobbies
Alchemy, reading and collecting Dragon Priest masks (in the case of my fic, it's not only the mask she will be collecting... 🤭)
12. Favorite city
Hard to say. She made her home in Morthal, but it is more a town than a city. Whiterun is radiant and welcoming, and so is Solitude, but she feels a connection to both Morthal and Winterhold - she is a mage, after all.

the first dragonborn who lived under the dragon rule trying to secure every last bit of fragile power to survive, conflicted between his humanity and his dragon blood, is told he can't be the master of his own fate.
the last dragonborn who knows no one else like her, is constantly warned to not let power consume her or told she's "the ultimate dragon slayer", told her fate is hers to discover.
and when the first dragonborn hears about her existence, he's threatened, because there can't be two like them at the same time, there can be no one like him who can subdue him.
the last dragonborn wants to stop him for what he's doing, and then she hears him pleading, "I'm the master of my own fate", and wonders.
maybe all he wanted was to have power over himself, because he never knew a world where he could do that.
and he is puzzled to find out that she doesn't want his power, because she has power over herself.
she's like him, dual in nature, human and dovah, yet she's nothing like him, she doesn't subjugate anyone, and doesn't allow herself to be subjugated. it's a balance he never thought was possible.
suddenly, he's fascinated by his rival.

dragon ball scrimblo bimblo and poor little meow meow
My scrimblo bimblos are really just any character that has potential (not necessarily for power, characters can just be well written) but were pushed in favor of Vegeta. Goku technically too but he gets a pass.
I think Frieza could somewhat qualify as a poor little meow meow. He's pathetic, he's literally the worst person, and he gets knocked down every time he picks a fight nowadays. He is such a joy to see on the screen though. The "Have fun, Frieza!" scene is legendary.

that grooming post got me thinking about this storyline that happened last year in wwe. they had a girl-daughter of one of the older wrestlers-date/fall in love with another wrestler who is like, i think 32? and the girl had just turned 19 last year :/ they actually made them kiss, too. that shit is so normalized that people were encouraging that storyline to keep going even though a bunch of fans were completely disgusted. no one in power saw a problem with it, apparently.

3. what is their goal right now?
lori: a beach party and some answers
esha: also some answers from s*las, but also getting more news of the Lavellan clan
6. which party member do they relate to the most?
lori: out of all of them, probably many (in terms of being the one least likely to sacrifice themselves)
esha: weirdly enough, iron bull. both have a similar personality (smarter and snarkier than they let on, love having a “gruff captain” appearance, and a deep love of having a fun time at a tavern or in front of a campfire with their company. she’s less loud than he is though.) she’s also done some questionable things in her youth that warranted shunning from the clan for a bit -well-deserved tho- and she’s worked hard to get that trust back so i think she relates to blackwall a lot too.
9. do they care about their appearance? how much effort do they put into presentation?
lori: it’s a weird mix. they don’t care about what people think of their ....eclectic...taste but love having fun with outfits a lot. they’re of the mind that their clothes make them unthreatening since flashy and stupid and they’re super at peace with that. they opt for comfier clothing (still as tackY) when on the go or in the need to hide though,. so like, from harajuku district’s worst dressed tourist to juicy couture tracksuit, y’know what i mean? for the rest they’re less mindful though, but they love getting their hair braided by other people since they’re not good at it themself. no makeup ever though, texture issues
esha: god no. there’s a problem if she spends more than 2 seconds getting ready in the morning. there was a wonderful saga of josephine trying to get her to not dress as a “fuck you” to nobility during the winter palace thing. she’s VERY practical-oriented and will wear the same goddamn coat until it falls apart. her choppy short haircut was due to a fight but she also has to be talked out of chopping it back herself because it looks um....interesting
16. what are their feelings on the people who raised them?
lori: a big old. “why.”
esha: love and grief. i think they raised her well until their passing, but she carries fond memories.
26. who do they miss?
lori: it’s a SECRET (those who died or disappeared during their time in slavery re-appear in their memories and dreams now and then, much to their chagrin, but i think they miss them).
esha: her clan, s*las, past friends she’s lost during hunting trips or fights. she compartimentalizes a lot though.
36. what’s a secret they’ve kept?
lori: SECRETS REMAIN SECRETS and feelings for a certain metal man are also a secret but they’ve also omitted their family ties a lot in-campaign
esha: she’s more open to talk about her past mistakes but has kept her mouth shut during time in the inquisition. she’s let out her own story more in front of Thom Rainier/Blackwall in a “dude i relate, i’ll make sure you’ll be okay” way.
46. what do they deprive themself of?
esha: she doesn’t depreive herself of a lot of things but i do feel like she has a “been there done that” kinda attitude about grief at times so i think she kinda deprives herself of tenderness even if she could absolutely find it. she’s affectionate and will have a warm disposition to people though
lori: similar but without the maturity about it

esha: bear, chill but takes no shit
lori: magpie

esha: solas(derogatory) and blackwall(affectionate), in the platonic sense Sera and Bull especially
