Lin Chen! This was actually about Jingyan accidentally seeing a candid portrait of Su Manor with Lin Chen careening after Feiliu and Mei Changsu laughing at them, post-reveal, and realizing what Mei Changsu/Lin Shu had been hiding from him.

Jingyan enters the garden to absolute chaos. Little Fei Liu is careening from tree to tree, and someone in white robes and a jianghu hairstyle is careening after him.
It’s the most chaotic Jingyan has ever seen prim, proper Su Manor. Sitting near the ledge is Mei Changsu. Mei Changsu -- xiao-Shu. Fei Liu darts behind him. The man in white follows, but xiao-Shu holds out an arm, blocking him. “Don’t bully our little Fei Liu, please.”
There’s laughter in his voice, and fondness. Jingyan’s heart squeezes in his chest. It sounds like a man who loves the people around him. It sounds warm.
The man in white pulls out a fan, shakes it at Fei Liu. “This rotten scamp ate my oranges. And here you are standing up for him!”
Behind xiao-Shu, Fei Liu sticks out a tongue.
“Enough, enough,” says xiao-Shu, indulgence permeating his every word. “Fei Liu must have been hungry. Weren’t you? Go find Auntie Ji, she’ll give you some snacks.”
Fei Liu scurries off, and the man in white says, “Amazing. You’re as bad as him.”
“The way I see it, you deserved to have your oranges eaten. Who asked you to flaunt them at every—”
“Changsu,” the jianghu man says, “you have a guest.”

WIP Snip
I was tagged by @thebansacredbanned to share an extract of a WIP.
This WIP is for my cannibal robot JGY fic!
Meng Yao surveys his surroundings, slow enough so that he doesn't jolt his head in a manner that'll pop it free from his neck like his broken robot. He certainly feels robotic in the way his stuff limbs are clasped together too closely for comfort.
He pulls at his robes to look at his body. Bright blossoming bites flower across his skin, bleeding into the yellows of bruises that had set like rot. His skin is flushed red and clammy to touch, sticking to his robes.
The aches of his body are in places too particular to feel random. The pain stretches far, leaving him an unskinned bird, unable to settle on his legs nor fly away. He fears what he'll see if he looks down his pants.

WIP Snip
Thanks for the tag @squibstress! My current WIP is from Mysterious Lotus Casebook, Li Lianhua/Di Feisheng time travel.
"I want you," Di Feisheng said colorlessly. "I have wanted you from the day I first saw you. I wanted you when you lanced a sword through my chest and I wanted you when you poisoned me with Asura Grass and when I thought you showed up to mock me in Jiao Liqiao's torture chamber. I wanted you during every moment you made me believe you were dead."
"There's no need to rub salt in all these old wounds," Li Lianhua said, flopping onto the ground to lay on his back. He sounded exhausted and miserable.
It wasn't very often Di Feisheng spoke from his heart like that, without restraint or embarrassment. He looked away from Li Lianhua into the fire and wondered why it was that he never knew how to make this man understand him.

Sick note
I am beset by the dreaded lurgy (unknown whether the evil 'Rona or just generic snout plague), and the words won't word; only the vibes vibe, so I am re-reading and re-watching.
To the people like @busarewski @thebansacredbanned @alybaly282 @bbcphile @koaly-ty @fandoms1reality0 @yijiangchunshui1203 @quicklymybasement who often like my announcement posts for "Detoxify", I am very sorry to not provide an instalment today.
My cat is providing purr therapy, I have hot chai tea and cozy lofi jazz videos on YouTube; I hope to be better and write again for Saturday.
Oh, and if there's anything any of you (or my other readers) would like to see before the story ends in February, any character from any of the canons involved that you'd like to meet the City AU version of, or anybody that would be fun to see interacting, hit me up! I know where I am going, but there is a lot of latitude along the way; I am game to bring anyone, or throw any random characters into situations together to see what happens.

"Draw your sword, Feng Leji, if you still can," Jian Hongyu says, blade in hand. "Die on your feet, like a man. I raised you; I'll grant you that."
Feng Yan, unarmed, spreads his arms wide open in a gesture of surrender; a black silhouette against the sun, rippling at the edges like a heat-haze mirage. "I am no longer something that can be killed so easily, Shifu."

“How did this man fool us all for two years? When evidently he’s incapable of not telling my stupid childhood nickname to every single person he knows?” Jingyan groans in frustration.
Lin Chen’s grin widens. “From what I’m given to understand, Your Buffalo Highness, it was only you he managed to fool.”

I was tagged by @thebansacredbanned! I'm currently finishing up on this Word of Honor one that I started yesterday.
It was said that the first thing the current chief had done after usurping the throne and eating the former Ghost Valley Master was to order Wuchang Gui to clean the blood from his bedchamber. However well it may have been cleaned, it hadn’t been enough for Wen Kexing; without a second glance, he gave the room to Wuchang Gui. Some ghosts whispered that it was a mark of favor. Others said that it was a reminder not to cross him.

WIP snip
Thanks to @thebansacredbanned for tagging me to post a snippet of a work in progress. If this sounds fun and you have a WIP, this is your excuse to share!
Here is an excerpt of the Romance of Tiger and Rose post-canon divergence I braindumped after the show.
(major spoilers for Tiger and Rose)
I read somewhere that Han Shuo’s actor is supposed to be called Han Mingxing, and that’s what I call him in the fic.
In the canon divergence, the leads don’t get together so quickly in the modern world, and Han Mingxing goes on to shoot Xiaoqian’s new script while firmly insisting to himself that the whole drama was just a dream.

Absurd. Just absurd. That wasn’t real; Han Shuo isn’t real; he, Han Mingxing, one of the nation’s most sought-after leading men, is real. Of course there’s no way the scriptwriter knows what he dreamed. And there’s absolutely, positively no way she was there.
He’s just got a small, temporary problem, that’s all. One day he’ll stop thinking day and night of flying through the air unassisted, stop feeling the ghost of a guan in his hair, stop aching for friends who never existed. Stop obsessing over Chen Xiaoqian.
He’s Han Mingxing. The women he dates have faces to launch a thousand ships and sophistication to shame emperors. They are starlets, models, heiresses — everything Chen Xiaoqian isn’t.
(She has amazing legs, by the way, if they are the way he dreamed.)
He’s trying not to look at the corner where she’s talking to Director Zhang, both of them bent over a copy of the script, a pen sticking out of her mouth. A scoff escapes his mouth. So the woman does know how to work hard, after all.

Actually I think it could be quite cute in omegaverse?
Like a nesting party must be a coming of age party for omegas where their friends and family give them a piece of clothing or soft blanket for their first nest
I considered writing fic but then remembered that I have a tumblr and this is a lot less effort… if anyone writes this let me know because I would love to see it!

I have a hard time keeping anything to the span of 1-2 sentences so unfortunately have uh, six sentences instead!
Jiang Jiewu, to the jianghu, was a good natured, laughing man who could be the life of any discussion conference he attended, and often knew far more secrets than he let on. He remained a large, gregarious man even after the death of his beloved A-Xia.
Some part of Wen Ruohan had never entirely forgiven him for remaining someone who liked to laugh. Surely, if he had really loved A-Xia, he would've felt worse about it. Surely, if his affection for A-Xia was not for show, he would've been changed by her death.
Jiang Jiewu did not change after Wen Lixia's death, though he had cried over her casket as though his heart was breaking in his chest in a display that kept the jianghu talking for months.
There's a lot going on here. dw about it friends!

Last show/movie: Saw. I'm not quite sure which one but it involved some guy who killed the people who performed a fake cancer related surgery on him.
Sweet/savoury/spicy: Sweet!! I have a huge sweet tooth. I'm also a big fan of spicy food, but I'm pretty that came with being asian.
Last thing you googled: Measurement standards as according to my country's institution of surveying. It was for an assignment that I really need to finish before Friday...yet here I am, procrastinating on Tumblr.

1. After months of searching, Wuyan had finally brought Di Feisheng a clue. [Perchance to Live, Mysterious Lotus Casebook, Li Lianhua/Di Feisheng. A descriptive opening that orients the reader as to where in canon it starts.]
2. Lan Qiren woke in the middle of the night. [The Wild Charge, The Untamed, Lan Qiren/Wen Ruohan. A short action sentence to begin an adventure.]
3. Waves lapped at his legs, stinging a little on the scrapes and cuts. [What good did it do, Mysterious Lotus Casebook, Li Lianhua/Li Xiangyi. A short descriptive sentence, orienting within a canon scene.]
4. "Unhand her." [Tomorrow Has Promise, the Untamed, Qin Su/Wen Qing. Dialog! Jumping into the middle of the action.]
5. "The Jinyuan alliance is so evil!" Xiao Zijin cried, flourishing his sword. [Moon and Wind, Mysterious Lotus Casebook, Di Feisheng/Li Lianhua. Dialog again. Setting the scene for a pre-canon conflict between the ship.]
6. "You are on edge tonight," Gu Xuanqing observed, lifting a hand and tracing Li Yunzhen's cheek, rubbing a thumb over the dark circles under her eye. [To Give Each Other the World, 长公主在上 Eldest Princess Above. Dialog. Getting to know the ship and where they stand with each other.]
7. "Maeglin!" [Another Way, the Silmarillion, Maeglin/Celebrimbor. Dialog. Tells who the fic is about right away.]

10. Li Lianhua did not take his eyes off the sea. [A Good Scheme, Mysterious Lotus Casebook, Di Feisheng/Li Lianhua/Fang Duobing. Another line to orient on the canon beach scene, which apparently all my MLC fics have in common 😂]
Conclusion: Alternating between scene description, action, and dialog. Not much in common other than that they are all short and (I like to think) punchy.
