Soul Collector AU where Phantom was just out and about gathering spirits on the Material Plane when a pair of humans in odd jumpsuits came out of nowhere and attacked him. Danny wasn't sure how these odd humans were even able to see him, let alone attack him.

He defeated them quickly and easily, only to realize the three soul-jars he kept the spirits in were missing! He took a deep breath to keep from panicking. Okay, so his old mentor once explained the soul-jars have a tendency to teleport away if they sence the souls inside or the carrier is in too much danger and he just had to follow his connection to them to find them. No big deal. Even if the jars were broken the spirits inside would be temporarily forced into thier cores to prevent them from causing harm or being used in any magical shenanigans.

All he needed to do now was fly to this "Gotham" place and retrieve the jars. How hard could that be?

Turns out VERY was the correct answer here as some sort of supervillian (cause thats apparently a thing in this world) shattered the jars and took a core of one of the benign spirits and used it as a makeshift battery for his weapon against this goth furry dude (another villain perhaps?) Now the whole thing has turned into an incredibly violent supernatural Easter egg hunt. Not only that, but it's a race against the clock to find all of them before they're freed from thier cores while fighting off nearly every villian, vigilante and hero he comes across.

Pandora was so going to yell at him for this :'(
