the reason chris pratt’s voice sucks ass is because it’s going to be a lego movie situation where chris pratt is some kid’s dad in the Real World and he Hates video games but he gets sucked into the Mario world and then learns that video games are Cool Actually and during the third act he’s going to have to go talk to the Old Wise Man and it will be charles marinet voicing the Orignal Real Mario and he will say “i cannot sav-a da princess anymore, you must do it, chris pratt from guardians of the galaxy starlord” and then him and his son will reconnect in the Real World after he beats Bowser using the power of. idfk friendship probably.

Okay I can't be the only one who gets so much joy out of him unconsciously doing cat things in the cat suit - like okay I know it's a cat power-up but technically it's just supposed to give him cat reflexes and abilities, not behaviors. When he dodges DK's swing, his cat ears flip down and back, when DK is running at him or moving in an unpredictable way he arches his back, when he was taking in the praise from the crowd he started kneading little biscuits on DK's back. I just love these cute little details they make me so happy

Bonus Tanooki tail wag because it makes me so so happy and I could talk about it for hours and I think more people need to acknowledge it

me watching the Mario Movie with my family and seeing Luigi and Bowser interact after seeing so much bowuigi content: I am so normal. I am being very normal about this.

Love how there was zero intention in making these two friends. They were just at each other's throats the whole time.

I used to have an obsession with Mario games back when I was a kid, specially with princess daisy, ( and these two were one of my first ships ever) I used to pick her anytime I could, still do and she's still my fav princess lol so after watching The mario movie some of it came back to me, I loved the movie , watched it twice, hope we see Daisy in a sequel !!

I feel so weird coming back to post art after so long, but I couldn´t make art for myself because of my health and being busy, I have other sketches but those aren't finished yet!

That part where Mario finally saves Luigi and the way the animated that reunion hug will be on loop in my brain for weeks on end.

The way they look at each in disbelief, believing that the other was either dead or somewhere far away to where they can't get to each other and reuniting in the most crazy of circumstances before realizing that they are truly there and wrapping themselves up in the giant hug. The look of absolute relief on Mario's face, looking like he is just close to tears as he bumps his forehead against Luigi's before lifting him up into another hug, just...God shit like this I love when they do it in a way that makes you remember it and this was one of those scenes.

100% serious when I say they’ve opened the perfect opportunity for another Mario Cartoon. The characters in the movie are just too interesting and expandable for their potential to be fully realized in movies alone. And with this art style it could be extremely well received 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hey guys hope you like the Mario Movie cause I'm here to talk about something I just noticed upon my many rewatches

So everyone who has seen the movie has noticed that Mario wants his father to be proud of him, and rejoiced at the end when he does. I'm here to talk about that brief end scene!!

SO. FIRST.

Not just Mario, but BOTH brothers are bamboozled over their father's sudden praise because they feel like they've never been able to impress him before. Now, this has never bothered Luigi as much as it bothered Mario, and Luigi knows it. That's why, after recovering from his initial shock;

Luigi looks at Mario with his hands clasped over his heart and a big smile on his face. He's so happy, but for a different reason. Luigi knows how much their father's words mean to Mario, and seeing him get exactly what he's wanted for years, seeing his brother so happy, makes him happier than any praise he could receive. Mario has been Luigi's hero for their whole lives, and now everyone knows it!! He's so proud and happy for his brother!!

These boys love each other so so much and anyone who says otherwise is so unbelievably wrong it's laughable (/lh)

GUYS THE MARIO MOVIE IS SO GOOD!!! I just watched it, so fucking good. A love letter to the franchise packed to the brim with references in the music, every little scene is packed with detail and nods to every game and thing Mario related. It was a really good movie. AND THE BROTHERLY LOVE? Oh my god. I loved how the bros loved each other so much and care about each other so much. I’m glad that that’s what most of the focus was on. I hope the next movie is a little more focused on Luigi but I still love Mario. Chris Pratt didn’t do that bad of a voice either, Jack Black was of course top notch. Charlie Day was good. I LOVED DONKEY KONG AND PEACH. Mostly Donkey Kong, he was adorable. Peach was good too, I loved how badass she was but it wasn’t shoehorned in like everyone thought it would be, you know, women empowerment and shit. It was good despite everyone’s expectations. Everyone thought this shit would be terrible but it was adorable! I can’t wait for the next one!
