Kikimora was about to feed you to her dragon but decides to spare you... for the time being. (Watch with sound for extra creepiness 🔊)
Been binging a lot of Owl House lately and felt the urge to model and animate hand goblin Kikimora, so I guess you could say this is a little bit of a tribute.

My meaning about Prince Hans from Disneys Frozen pt 1
Okay, now I wanted to tell my opinion about Prince Hans. A lot of people called him a "monster", because he wanted to kill Elsa and Anna and nearly succeded. Well, nearly. Okay, makes him a villian. But as much other Disney villians, he didnt suceeded to kill someone. Thats why I dont understand how and I dont like the treatments Elsa and the others gave him in the short films and movies. Jaffar, Gaston and Scar for example didnt get such a treatment. I have seen worse villian characters, in other childrens series, compared to them Hans is an angel. As a "Monster" I would Hans seen if he had behaved like this after they threw him into the ships jail. He would have not stayed resigned on the ground, he would have jumped up, grinning evilly with a dark look on his face, sneering with a cold voice:"Dont think this is over! I will find a way to return and then I will kill you, ice witch-and wring your b*itchy little sisters neck for hitting me!" Elsa and Anna should have accompaied the guards when they threw him into the cell. And then Hans should have laughed like a maniac-well, till Elsa quieted him with an ice gag. This would left a dramatic end.
This behaviour would let me see him as "Monster". Still fighting and threathing. But he did nothing of that. He knew he failed -and he stayed quiet. But the "fine damsels" stayed away celebrating happily, not even losing a single more moment about Hans. Who knows how Hans grew up with his twelve brothers. I dont think he had a happy childhood. This made him probably obsessed to concquer a kingdom for his own. Well, in my fanfic some villians got a second chance to change the sides.
What I dont like on Elsa and Anna is their arrogant behaviour towards Hans. We see this in the second movie and in the new short film in this art gallery. For me a good king or queen makes who did rule wise and fair, but an important fact is to show sometimes forgiveness too. Its so long ago and they showed no forgiveness for Hans. No, it seems they will hate him forever. Thats not nice. Hans did not kill someone in the movie or continued to show pure evil or revenge like other Disney characters. Jaffar got a sequel, why not Hans? To show forgiveness from time to time to people they eventually deserved it will make the sisters even better rulers .Or that they even help Hans to find a new live. I wish they would be a film about Hans being held imprisoned in Arendelle instead of sending him home and Olaf would sneak into the cell from time to time to just talk with Hans, to win his trust and that he finds out why he became like he is and that he pours out his heart to the Snowman. I think Olaf has a heart big enough to try it even with Hans to talk things out and to find redemption for him. (We know what happend to Scar in the Lion Guard, we learned about his past-and Kion forgave him-and we know, that Scar killed Mufasa, Kions Granpa.)

just finished watching sonic prime so why not share my thoughts on it? before i start rambling, i suggest you go watch it on netflix, it definitely deserves a watch.
now
Technicalities first (if i can call them that). So, judging as a viewer and not as a sophisticated critic who has read cinemtaography books, I’d say the show’s direction overall is pretty good. It’s nothing special but it’s pleasing and keeps you interested. The direction, the angles, the camera changes regarding placement and focus are well coordinated with the writing and each emotion each scene tries to convey. So, really, nothing new (i wasnt expecting a sonic show to make groundbreaking ways of storytelling through cinematography), but I believe it is worth mentioning because it plays a huge role on how one views the show. And there were many moments where I realized that a certain angle made the scene look more tense for example.
Animation! I think we all liked the bouncy styled animation, contrasting the hugely popular disney/pixar styled animation (which is good, dont get me wrong, but the animation tecnhique used in prime fits sonic a lot more imo). Also, the facial expressions are part of what made the show so great and enjoyable and I love how much emphasis they put on them, literally perfect. The details in animation, like the animalistic behaviours of sonic and co. and how they were depicted (ears twitching for example) are all very important and im glad they were implemented. And, I know a lot of us are focused on the facial expressions but we shouldnt forget abt the background as well. There definitely was attention to detail, details that were everywhere and completed the overall image of the show.
Music! the music is good what do you expect me to say like, oh that major g in the pirate scene made the scene look more tense but if it was a minor f it would make it a bit more sad and thus more fitting- no. the music was good. not surprised and props to everyone who worked on the music but i just dont think theres anything to add LOL.
Voice acting! Voice directing-wise? Really REALLY good, i wasnt expecting great performances but i was proved wrong and im happy about that. Now, for the main cast seperately? Devon has done an EXCELLENT job with his lines. His sonic voice is a combination of Roger Craig Smith and Ben Schwartz i believe but it’s also unique and very fitting for sonic, despite me not liking it at first. Brian as Eggman is meh for me, very good voice acting skills but i didnt like it that much. Ashleigh as Tails fit surprisingly well and idk why. Kazumi for rouge was a really good one, bringing rouge back to her sa2/heroes era and not the overly sexy and seducing voice she has in the games (i know its abt voice direction as well but yeah). big is meh, i dont like it. knuckles is pretty good tbh. and now, shadow the hedgehog. yes. ian did an excellent job voicing shadow and i LOVE LOVE LOVE his voice in prime, makes he’d sound like that in the games as well. i’ll stop now or i’ll start fangirling.
Characters! I like the characters and sonic’s crew. the way the show’s written so far though has made me care about the post-apocalypse characters more than the other shatterverses. like, i like them all, yeah, but i care more about nine and knucks and rebel. maybe that was the point. also,HHHH WHY NOT BLAZE? why not silver? hoping to see them soon but PIRATE WORLD? there was a purple cat and a brown raccoon there but it wasnt blaze and marine. lost opportunity. (and rouge should have been the captain in the pirate one fr fr)
And finally, writing. I’ve seen a lot of opinions these days. Here’s mine. Good characterisation. Yes, it might surprise you but the characterisation is actually good. for every character. including sonic. maybe in a different post i could talk about every character but for now, i wanna talk abt sonic. bouncy, energetic, talkative, honest, lively, adhd coded, cheesy sometimes, reckless, extroverted who wants to work on his own from time to time. this is actually sonic. someone who loves his friends but doesnt listen to them cuz he has no patience. someone who conveys his emotions with actions and puts words aside. someone who likes to lay back once in a while, but not when the whole world is broken to pieces. someone who wants to save everyone, puts everyone above him and his needs. someone who cant stop talking, making witty remarks and jokes despite the given situation cuz he never gives up and is always hopeful and optimistic. frontiers gave us a different view of sonic’s character but it’s a very different situation as well. yet, if you carefully compare the two, you’d see how much things they have in common and how prime! sonic is very well written.
overall writing is okay. characterisation is very good, interactions between characters are very good but some could have been better(some moments were too short for my liking), easter eggs, there are many and are greatly appreciated, many details, the recap of the prev episodes was really funny and clever but I feel like we were deprived of some great opportunities. like, eggman nega with eggman instead of the chaos council. thats just an example. and im not too salty abt it cuz it’s mainly a kids show and it shows. im glad that its enjoyable for adults like me as well though.
thats all folks. no one asked for this but youre getting it anyway.

So, if you told me a month ago that I’d be making a post about The Amazing Digital Circus, I would probably call you a liar.
I DID hear of it. You cannot go anywhere on the Internet right now without someone saying “Have you seen The Amazing Digital Circus?” And/or “Wow, Disney has gotten so bland they’re losing to indie animation”
My hesitation to watch it, plus RWBY not working for me, (and still doesn’t tbh), makes people think I hate/don’t support indie products. That’s not the case. I’m an aspiring indie writer. I’m SO HAPPY that indie animation is getting so much attention, so much that I’m interested in watching Helluva Boss (haven’t had the time to do so yet). I’m SO HAPPY that there’s people who are not major corporations and executive demands control their creativity and passions, and are getting success by making what they want. It’s VERY inspiring and the rise in recognition has helped me in motivation on working on my original books that I’ve lacked the past few months.
I just didn’t want to watch Digital Circus at first, because fanbase.
Yeah that CAN drive people away from products more than you think.
This may be the next Undertale in more regards than one.
I usually wait till the hype dies down before I see something with great reviews. I did that with the first Spiderverse movie, and I didnt see it until over a month after the release. Then I became a fan, saw the appeal, and couldn’t wait to see the second movie in theaters.
And… well. The hype has NOT died. Not even a little. On YouTube, it was recommendation after recommendation to watch the pilot. My sibling watched it and told me to watch it. (I never listen to them cause it just made me think “Oh so it’s a Five Nights At Freddy’s knock off. If my sibling likes it.”)
What made me decide to see it was the news that it was MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN DISNEY’S WISH.
Like… WHAT?! HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?!
This is an INDIE product, and it’s way more successful in views and critical reception than one of THE most major animation companies of all time?!
I threw my hands in the air and decided, “Alright FINE. You win. I need to see what the appeal is.”
So I watched the pilot just a few days ago…
Okay, NOW I understand the appeal wholeheartedly.
This pilot alone pressed all of my buttons. Beautiful smooth clean animation, stellar voice acting, unique amazing character designs, the dark humor not unlike Total Drama (though not as crass as that show), the very memorable bits and lines that live in my head rent free now, the world building and the intriguing mysteries behind what’s happening. The existential horror of it all (that I personally think is more compelling than regular jumpscare heavy horror). I became loaded with questions that I really wanted to figure out the answers to. I care about the mysteries of the digital circus world, what happened to these people, how was it made, and what were these peoples lives before entering. I care about Pomni’s struggles to get out of her situation only to be grappled with a very real depiction of an existential crisis. I want to know more about these other characters and what their stories are. This is honestly the most addicted I’ve been to a show since Ninjago.
Do I a think it’s perfect? No. I have some nitpicks. But that’s where my criticism ends. Nitpicks.
Seriously, I hope and pray the remainder of this show lives up to the hype. And I’m perfectly content with waiting several months each, if it means the show stays this good. Quality over quantity. Any day.
So… yeah. I kind of joined the hype train.
It’s a real shame that I almost didn’t want to, because fanbase, because this honestly deserves the recognition it’s getting. Seriously, to my followers, if you somehow have not seen the pilot, check it out. You’ll thank me later.

General Opinions on Movies me and my partner marathoned recently written before the melatonin wins
Planet of the Apes trilogy
LOVED THEM. SO MUCH. I care a lot about Caesar and Maurice so the end of the third movie really had me in tears. So good.
Jurassic World Movies
Pretty alright, docked some points because of real world opinions of Crisp Rat, but I am HERE for Blue and the T-Rex. The Indominus Rex was, imo, a really cool dino. Fed my childhood love of scaley boys.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
YES KING ITS WHAT HE DESERVES. So happy to see Kitty again and Harvey Guillén did a great job. 10/10 will watch again.
The Golden Compass
Lost to the mf ages. I had a preview for this movie on a dvd I had as a kid, and only now got to watch it. So sad there wasn't a sequel.
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
YES. YES. YES. EVERYTHING I WANTED IT TO BE.
All of the Michael Bay Transformers movies
Ugh took us so long to get through cause each movie is a little over 2.5 hours but we made it! I watched the first one as a kid (as well as read some of the comics) and Ive always loved Bumblebee. I loved all of the movies. LOVED HOUND he was my childhood second favourite. Im a little sad that Arcee didn't get nearly as much of a part as she deserves but I'll live. I'm more partial towards Sam Witwicky but Cade Yeager is alright. Hes cool.
Transformers: the Movie (1986)
Partner's childhood favourite so naturally we had to. Was really good! Reminded me of why I love 80's cartoons so much, it was a huge nostalgia trip and got me wanting to watch all of my childhood shows and movies (X-Men, TMNT '87, Rainbow Brite, etc.). I will always love the style and the way they did the backgrounds. As for the movie itself, I got my fill of Arcee, and I'm happy with the experience. Will watch again.
Bayverse TMNT movies.
YES FINALLY. Ive had these on my watch list for. A WHILE. I loved them, loved Mikey and Donnie specifically. Not my favourite iteration of Casey but he was fine. Overall p good, happy to see Bebop and Rocksteady. I think they should've used '87 Krang's voice in the second movie but he's squeaky and kind of annoying so I get it. Reminds me to watch ROTTMNT.
Dinosaur
Literally didnt even know this was a Disney movie but was fantastic. Beautiful animation despite being old. Loved it.
Hook
*Points at Rufio* its him officer. Its the homestuck flashback. Despite the fact that I had to explain why Rufio cause me to uncontrollably laugh to my partner, was a really good movie. Hook and Peter were both played by amazing guys.
I'll add any if I missed them, and I'll reblog with our next batch. :)

Not Hispanic or anything even remotely similar, but Primos just makes me sad after I heard about all the inconsistencies. Because if there was proper grammar and spelling and not kids named Nacho, Fat (but she's skinny,) and Pussy, as well as the town name. Yikes.
Just lamenting because the creator, who is definitely Latina, said that she wants to make a show for ppl who don't belong. And I think it's wonderful, but she just did it wrong and guilt trips ppl instead of apologizing for her mistakes and fixing them. I think it could be a decent show if all those mistakes were fixed! Sure, the Hispanic family of like 20 ppl living in the same house is overdone imo, but idk! It's not too late to fix it.
But of course, Disney doesn't care enough. No one working on this show cares enough! The whole thing about people who don't fit in or have no representation is just platitudes at this point.
Or maybe they do. They did delete the preview, after all. Maybe they're workshopping it! But what do you think?
I just find it odd that a show made by Latinos for Latinos came out this bad!
(Latino is gender-neutral, right?)
Y'all deserve better!
Sincerely, a Very Very White Girl who Speaks no Spanish
yeah, I agree it would be an okay show if the staff would handled the situation in the right way. actually, latinos (mostly mexicans, as op) love see our ethnicities represented! Thats why series as Mucha Lucha, El tigre or movies as Nacho Libre and Los campeones de la lucha libre are really beloved media for us (specially for the ones who grew in the 2000s as op)
In my personal opinion, Primos seemed to be something like Big City Greens but aimed to the 2nd generation hispanic (going to use the word "pochos", as we call them) and what it was filter it seemed somewhat charming. But again, the staff didnt know how to handle the situation and made everything wrong

Sorry, person who sent the Amity ask here. I saw your tweet along with the blog response. Firstly, i didnt mean for my ask to be upsetting so im sorry about that.
Secondly, i kinda wanna clarify that i meant the fandom knows Amity isnt a morally good person not so much a bad character? (although yes her writing is not that great in s2 and arguably in s1 it is 'eh' handled too.)
I think the writers really could have tackled that morality issue and possibly tried to integrate Amity KNOWING her flip was selfish, it could have been an interesting s2 dynamic with Willow.
(but ofc... Hunter, who devours screen time. sorry i hate this guy, he is so pointless in every way. familial abuse? already being done with Amity. Setting up caleb? could have been done in so many other ways that didnt make characters like Gus and Willow have like no real development. showing Belos is evil? Vee is RIGHT THERE as a experimentation victim. and ykno, trying to commit genocide is a pretty big tell of e v i l.)
No need to apologize. It's not your fault and honestly, I could in theory try to hold myself back doing these and not get as emotional. I prefer how I'm doing them now because I think A: it just shows my passion for writing which... you know, it is my job, B: it shows that I'm not just doing this to prove I'm 'better' than The Owl House or any shit and C: that all of this comes from a place of... Well, sympathy to anyone else who is like me. Anyone else who adored the show and could ignore its flaws until it just turned into something so much rougher, meaner and blatantly unplanned. I agree that tackling Amity's flip as having been selfish and only around one person would have been interesting. It also would have meant painting Lumity as a non-universal good thing and that is clearly not something they want to do, despite everything they have Luz do post them getting together. They WANT that title of healthiest couple in media for their little Disney lesbians even if they've lost that possibility long ago. So I don't blame them for not following that specific angle. But I also made my blog last time the way I did because... By the end of season 2, how much do YOU believe she's still a morally gray character? Even if she's still mostly motivated by Luz, this is a character who won't snoop, won't be mean, tries to emulate her version of Luz, which is the sweet version of Luz, when faced with a dilemma, etc. like that. She is a good guy through and through, and especially more so than Luz because she has a problem with someone and she opens up communication, despite that making NO SENSE. Then again, much of Amity's actions post becoming Luz's girlfriend don't make sense in the context to what love, acceptance, etc. like that means with the only explanation for it being that Eclipse Lake was all it took to clear all that trauma and mistreatment because "It's Luz! What was I thinking?" *siiiiiigh* And then S3, from the clips I've seen, push more her being sweet or a complete fucking disaster, continuing something that has been happening since S1 even. After all, "Watch it, nitwit!" is like... the last mean thing Amity has said or done to someone who wasn't framed as deserving it. But she has been a fucking saint ever since then. And as a note, because I call even Amity's character arc bad, this is not a bad place for it to have ended. HOWEVER, the lack of her past self, her past actions, any personal goals or the like... It'd be like if Zuko joined the gang and then immediately was smiles, rainbows and totally not interested in killing his dad because that can wait, I just want to fish! At that point it's just an entirely different character and there are definitely points at which Amity just feels like she must have an entirely different history and personality than the one we knew and were told.
And as for Hunter, I've covered some of my feelings about him when someone asked me if I thought Lunter would have been better for the show *gags* but there's obviously more I could talk about with just a piece dedicated to discussing the character. When the baseline of your character is "Discount other character", you know things are in for a rough time. The fact that he's a discount Amity when I already think so poorly of Amity's handling... OOOOOOH BOY.

Disney Corporation: Nostalgia and they consistently put out enjoyable if not amazing work. Dune: popular scifi novel from the 80s and nerds love to get weirdly obsessive over scifi. MCU: A mix of comic book fans near the start with from what I've heard some good films followed by sunk cost fallacy. Dark Souls: A mix of openworld nonlinearity in an RPG and you know that thing when you keep failing at something repeatedly but then finally succeed and it feels like a million orgasms? That.
In hindsight my question was both about my own reaction (not getting it), and fans reaction both in positive sense (fawning over them, being protective of them) and negative sense (hating change). And you managed to answer all of em, so well done.
Ill explain each for the viewers at home.
DISNEY :
As a child and teen Disney didnt play much of a role in my life. I mean i did watch the movies and the occasional tv show, but not much else, and I cant really say i was a big fan even at a young age, and I really never bought into the whole Disney "Magic" idea. By contrast I was a big fan of things like Power Rangers, The Addams Family, Medabots, Pokémon, and Warner Brothers (as my dad jokingly says, we're a warner brothers household not a Disney household) , which at one point actually led to me calling my parents Father and Mother, despite not being raised that way 😅. Though it didnt help that even at a young age I viewed Disney as very much a young kid/pastel suburban thing (If youve watched the addams family movies youll know what I mean), and adults into Disney as more than a bit wierd, so that might be part of the reason why I never gravitated to it.
But i do understand the appeal. I mean a company that relies on Nostalgia is basically trying to sell you things you associate with the good parts of your childhood. So naturally if youre a fan of it, youd want the company to chanfe the products as little as possible, to preserve the memory.
DUNE
I was never into sci fi novels, so naturally Dune wasnt something I read. Also im not into noble focused stories like War and Peace, so Dune with its focus on nobility doesnt appeal to me.
But now I get it. Sci Fi stories which were once popular are considered classics, and as a result are generally treated with much more respect and admiration than they might deserve.
MCU
Honestly I like stories with a beginning, middle, and end. So western comic books dont appeal to me, which explains why im not into the MCU.
Sunk cost fallacy as an explanation..... yeah that fits. I mean its the only thing that explans why way to many people watch them even after its clear that theyre burning piles of garbage wrapped in mouse shapped turds.
DARK SOULS
I can only do so much of that FAILING A MILLION TIMES BEFORE SUCCEEDING, before i get bored and look for something else. Besides the look, lore, and feel of the games just doesnt appeal to me. Fable however does.
That said I do understand that feeling, and now i get why fans of it are so against lower difficulty, because that would risk the loss of the very high they get from being beaten a million times before succeeding

My sister saw a video playing "rapunzel knows best" while someone did a gothel make up and it turned into us listening and singing to different Disney villain songs to just listening to tangled songs and now I have a rant to do about the tangled series
None of this will probably make sense but it's my page
So here we go ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Gonna put on keep reading cuz it's long lol
THEY HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL AND THEY DIDNT DO SHIT WITH IT
And not only that they did my Rapunzel injustice! >:(
I've recently been coming across a lot of, well deserved, criticism of the show but for a long while I have been ignoring them I when I do read them I realise I start getting defensive, especially for certain characters (well, I'll be honest, I'm talking about rapunzel) and I had to sit down and stop for a moment when I caught myself doing that
They were valid criticism, sure, but because she was my comfort character (way before I ever watched the series) I started to get defensive, and then the series happened and I tried to ignore it's flaws and issues and pretended everything was a-okay but I could only do that for so long
It's another reason I avoided, and still do kinda avoid the fandom actually, amongst other reasons 😅
But it wasn't okay, and things that bothered me before are starting to rise again
First off, I was so absolutely upset and disappointed they never tackled further into Rapunzel's trauma with gothel, like, maybe a few episodes in the start of the season but never again until like, season 3 or sm and that was only to bright light to cassandra's issues and as I listen to the lyrics of "mother knows best" I am even more MAD that they didn't explore it
And I know, it's Disney, it's rare, especially then, for them to tackle on these topics properly but still, I have a right to be mad!
Especially since it was stuff that I went through! Years and years of being told the same things! By more than just my parents! Where are her body issues? Slight hesitations? Fears? They just brushed it off!
And they did her sooooo dirty too
Something I absolutely tried to ignore was how she treated varian in season one, both are my comfort characters and that single detail always lingered in my head
Why didn't rapunzel go after varian after the storm? I mean, she went above and beyond for Attila, why didn't she do the same for Varian? Thay was soooo out of character! And I was so mad that they wrote her like that and then ignored it like it never happened!
If they wanted Varian to be the villain they could have done something else? I didn't note down anything I had in mind but come on! You shouldn't have to change a character up just for the sake of plot!
Rapunzel cares for her friends, she'd do anything for them! It's proven time and time again but it's a double standard for Varian? I am soooo mad just UGH
Maybe put an obstacle that doesn't allow them to reach Varian in time, Niger has been proven to try and keep rapunzel from doing what she thinks is right (with the dragon stuff, though he changed in the end he still sent troops after them) maybe make Nigel convince rapunzel everything was fine? Every time she'd try to check on him she'd be stopped, so she'd send her friends but then again, obstacles keeping them
And when they do reach Varian it could be too late cuz he thought he was truly alone and acts against them
But then there is the part he comes to them personally in the alchemist returns, right? Maybe it could have been a miscommunication and stuff and when the fight ends is because they are able to clear up the miscommunication and, ya know, actually help him? Instead of throwing him to prison?
Ans it would have been nice to have him join season 2 since he's a fan favourite but if they really didn't want to add him, maybe he was left behind so that he could be left to his studies with additional help
But then there is the second villain arc, if they really wanted to add thay they still could of! They could have had that he was manipulated by the seporians and stuff
Or make it so, like many do, that the king didn't keep his promise to help varian and when he did one mistake the king thought that that was enough and locked him up
If rapunzel was there she wouldn't let that happen, but she isn't
I just
Idk
I'm just coming up with random ideas which probably has a lot of issues, I know, I'm tired and kinda doing multiple things rn so I don't have a clear mind but my point still stands
I don't want to defend whay rapinzel did, I want to defend rapunzel and how they butchered my girl
Idk it's so frustrating
And also cassandra just...why...he villain arc was so frustrating and not fun to watch, annoying really, and she went unpunished too? God danm it!
Ugh
My point is, I love this show, but it had a lot of lost potential
This rant probably doesn't make sense lol sorry

Ok so the Ernest character was developed for commercials; Jim Varney was a professionally trained actor who also did standup, and had done commercials before as a different character, but Ernest really took off. His shtick is that he's an annoying neighbour who always pesters the never-seen and unspeaking POV character, Vern, about which products to buy. There are several running gags such as Vern kicking Ernest off a ladder, Ernest getting his hands slammed in a window, getting electrocuted, etc.
Eventually disney found out about Ernest's popularity and decided to fund some movies about him. The first four Ernest movies (Goes to Camp, Saves Christmas, Goes to Jail, and Scared Stupid) were theatrically released and produced by Touchstone Pictures. They kept making movies when the disney contract ended, but these ones were lower budget and the rest after Rides Again were straight-to-video (Goes to School, the only installment directed by Coke Sams rather than John Cherry, was apparently planned as a theatrical release, but that didn't pan out). Between Christmas and Jail they also had a short-lived CBS show called Hey Vern, It's Ernest! which won two Emmys, one for the title sequence and the other for Varney's multi-character performance. They even released a talking Ernest doll as a tie-in!
-🧢 (< that'll be my emoji signature since you said you wanted one)
i feel proud that id already known a lot of this. honestly my favourite part about ernest's character was that he was sort of every cartoon stereotype wrapped up into one character played by a real person in live action. i honestly believe that's what made his character so fun to watch, too.
i didnt know they had a cbs show though!! but im not surprised it won emmys; that was way overdue. jim varney deserves that and more.

Heres some LO gossip. It was in one of her livestreams back in the day, like maybe 2018 or 2019, so its been deleted as all of them are, so take my word for it, but the discussion revolved issues around final fantasy, and I commented about how i found a specific character design to be racist. LO told me to cease the discussion altogether, and I guess I didnt answer in time, because then everyone in the chat hounded me for daring to voice this opinion and Lily said nothing while it happened. I, a black woman, was ridiculed in her chat for saying a character design was racist, and she sat back and did not care. I was called stupid and overdramatic and to shut up because it was bothering LO (my opinion was in one message). I stopped joining the streams after that - i used to be quite the regular. LO would add in things to her script directly taken from my chat messages, quite a few I can recall in the disney roundup series. Tarzan, Lilo and Stich, and Hunchback. I would also correct her a lot on very simple facts, like a certain show belonging to a specific network, or what animators worked on which films. She'd swiftly delete my replies correcting her after editing her scripts/posts. Once I asked her twice, maybe three times, why she claimed Treasure Planet failed financially due to bad writing in one review, but then praised Treasure Planet for its amazing writing in a later review, and she ignored me. I suspect its because its a blatant example of her showing her dumb ass. From these interactions, I realized how disingenious LO is when it concerns racism, how ignorant she is, how unoriginal she is, how little care she puts into research for her work and how cult-like her following is and how much she loves that, she cultivated it. As LO would say, she's a fake and a grifter.
anon, i can't testify about everything else but i vaguely remember someone doing a comment like that during one of the streams. was it a character from kingdom hearts by any chance? if it was then i was there too and it surprised the ease she had to just ignore it after creating so many videos about how everyone else should do their best to learn to be better allie. at the time i still wasn't totally convinced about the extent of LO's actual indifference towards other people and their issues so somehow i kept giving her chances to prove everyone else wrong. that was one of those moments in which she didn't. i don't find hard at all to believe you on everything else because she has done the same thing to other people. on her video about SU (you know the one) a black non binary person that LO quoted on her video called her out on her enbyphobic attitudes. did LO ever adressed that, apoligized or tried to do it better? no. and now the exact same mistake she did back then (that non binary people are "inherently interesting") is the exact same one that she does with black people (that hunter would be "inherently more interesting" if he were black). she never learns anything, she just changes the how she's wrong about things. since that video multiple have called her out for many mistakes on that video and she dismissed them all as reactionaries, even when they were the most polite and respectful anyone could ever be when pointing out a mistake.
i'm sorry that you were treated like that, anon. you didn't deserve to be ignored like that by anyone, but especially not someone that had you convinced that they cared.

why the percy jackson movies are good, actually:
1) they just are lol
okay but seriously before i get into this let me address the valid criticisms the movies get.
grover is a racist caricature. it was unnecessary and they destroyed his character to make him comic relief. also NO ONE asked for the weird persephone x grover thing in the first film 🤢
very weird unresolved tension between percy and annabeth... “i definitely have feelings for you, i just cant tell if theyre negative or positive” is top 5 worst lines in cinema. they had no business aging up the characters just to “sex-ify” the film. like we didnt need a gritty/dark version of what is supposed to be a children’s story
they made clarisse skinny 😐
as an adaptation, if you were looking for faithfulness, you didnt find it in the movies. (the musical is a much better adaptation!) like not even the notion of artistic license can excuse chris columbus for changing all that he did. thor freudenthal tried to fix it but by then it was too late. i understand the hatred for the movies based on this. (but at the same time, the sheer level of hate is unwarranted. ill explain later)
????
genuinely cant think of any other reasons they’re bad. i think those cover the main concerns. anyways, HERE IS WHY THE PERCY JACKSON MOVIES ARE GOOD, ACTUALLY:
logan lerman acting king!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when i tell you that man EMBODIED the character of percy jackson. i know his legacy has been forever tarnished by the bad reputation of these movies but i also know that everyone praises his work in it bc it is truly one of the best things about the films. like he is genuinely talented! THAT BEING SAID. i dont want to see him as poseidon in the percy jackson disney show. i just know that man is tired of being associated to greek mythology fanfiction. support him by watching his other movies instead please
jake abel, acting king number 2. ive said this before but he was ACTUALLY the perfect luke. the expressions. the delivery of his corny lines. this video. literally iconic behavior!
honestly the cast in general. alexandra daddario, nathan fillion hermes, stanley tucci dionysus, UMA THURMAN MEDUSA???!!!
the soundtrack... need i say more? (i don’t, but i will anyways. first movie featured highway to hell, pokerface, tiktok - not the app. the ke$ha song- among others. second movie featured fall out boy. like they didn’t have to go that hard with the songs but they DID). also they made luke listen to classical music while playing chess in his giant cruise ship’s captain’s quarters... perfect characterization!
rick riordan hates the movies and im sick and tired of that man so by default i love the movies. okay but seriously. i understand feeling insulted by a poorly done adaptation of your life’s greatest work, and i understand not wanting to watch something that is based on your writing. but he has made this grudge so excessive that out of spite im about to start unironically endorsing the films over his books. hes written whole essays griping about his hatred for the movies. which at the same time, is just FURTHER ASSOCIATING YOURSELF TO THE MOVIES! a part of me is convinced that as soon as the disney x fox merger happened, he ran to disney headquarters and started begging them for a tv show just so he could direct his anger towards the movies into something productive. like man WE GET IT! YOU DONT LIKE THE MOVIES!!!
they are.... SO funny???????? im pretty sure even if you havent seen the movies youve heard someone quote it? here are some notable ones:
“this is like high school without the musical”
“this is a pen. THIS IS A PEN!!”
“you can’t kill the janitors! those are working class citizens!”
“you’re burning money? we’re in a recession! that’s treason!!”
“tell me those aren’t sharks.” “....those aren’t sharks.”
that scene where tyson is like... olympus!!!! and percy is like... no...we’re in washington dc.....
“hey! what are you doing? don’t walk on my roof.”
“[starts singing It’s A Small World]”
the visual effects are objectively, pretty good
despite it not being a faithful adaptation, the movies have a decent plot. or at least i was still enthralled while watching them? like disconnect them from the books and its still a (mostly) solid story.
or if you dont want to think about the plot at all, just admit that they’re FUN and ICONIC and DEFINED THE 2010s.
you guys are just haters. the percy jackson movies are good and we deserved the titans curse adaptation. end of discussion

5 Anti LO Asks
1. love how the gods in LO and their environments are all the same, blindingly bright neon colors where hardly anything is decipherable   (zeus in the all purple room and hades basically just being a neon blue head in an nearly all black underworld spring to mind here) while the mortals are all the same muddly brown with muddy brown environments. i understand its to save time, but it just looks ugly and rushed over a unique palette.
2. uh ... does Rachel know dionysus was the way he was wasnt bc his mom was a "unhinged bitch" but rather the fact thats just how he was (is this being anti=partying? didnt LO literally start with a party?) as well as a dash of childhood trauma via HERA killing him as a baby? this isnt just a terribly misogynistic reading on semele, its also an offensively arrogant reading on dionysus. even the stereotypical depictions  via PJO or Disney show more respect than whatever Rachel thinks this is.
3. semele was literally a devoted but horny priestess in mythology??? are we sure rachel actually knows what she's talking about because itd be weird to claim to be a staunch feminist focusing on being against purity culture and wanting to promote female agency and being proud in their sexuality only to then frame an actually sexually liberated woman making her own choices especially in deeply regressive times as bad and evil because she just happens to like zeus and isn't hera 🤔
4. Out of curiosity how old do you think some of the mortals that the gods interact with are? Like how old is Semele supposed to be? She looks like a teenager (to me anyway).
And if thats the case, then Zeus is having an illicit affair with a teenage girl and so is Hades (the only difference is Kore has Goddess status to "make up for" the age gap).
Either way its still creepy. As far as we know the only somewhat decent brother of the triarchy is Poseidon (maybe its because hes more of a background character but he seems much more chill than Zeus + Hades).
I have a feeling if RS brought Poseidon in to the forefront more that she might ruin whatever small amount of characterization he has.
Also I'm fairly certain the brothers share 1 braincell and Poseidon has it 95% of the time. "Having an emotional affair can be just as damaging as a physical one".
Zeus definitely doesnt have it - he barely knows what's going on in Olympus and had no knowledge of Persephones crimes until someone else told him + then went into a temper tantrum to assert his dominance because he feels like no one takes him seriously (he's right, they don't. Not even Hera).
Hades has the braincell very rarely, but as soon as Persephone steps into the room it gets thrown out a window and he turns into a horndog. Also he reacts with temper tantrums as well - e.g: pulling a kids eye out for taking a photo of Persephone (granted paparazzi do kinda suck but still, Hades KNOWS hes the god of the underworld and is bound to attract attention + gossip and yet did nothing when Kore was made to feel uncomfortable and then in private ripped a kids eyeball out and Hecate helped to blind him - real good leadership there Hades, no winder the underworld denizens dont like you).
Honestly and we're supposed to be rooting for the gods? Or at least HxP?
I feel like it might be better if the narrative actually acknowledged that what the gods did was f*cked up and had lasting consequences, since RS wants them to be more "human" anyway.
Like Hades ripped a kids eye out and who gets 'punished' for it? Persephone. It damages her reputation at school and yeah she calls him out on it (saying that he did it more out of pride for himself than for her) but later its immediately forgotten as soon as she makes him fix the kid's eye.
(Not to mention that putting Hades in the room of the kid is gonna cause the kid more trauma. Was there no other healing option? Actually since when does Hades have healing powers? We've only ever see him kill plants to flirt with Persephone. And I think he should fix it, but I also doubt Persephone was thinking of the kids wellbeing in that moment - more of just fixing her reputation. Which again, does not endear the audience to her as a dread queen, if she can't make logical decisions that are going to impact the citizens shes destined to rule over).
5. maybe the reason rachel made semele so unlikeable is because she knows itll be hard to excuse hera's action when she literally murders a pregnant woman and her baby so thats all she can manage to justify it, tho its also lowkey deranged to say someone and their baby deserves to die because hera has that easily bruised of an ego over a man, who in LO at least, she doesnt even love?? like hera would just look insane at that point, you cant "girl power" your way out of baby murder.

Not that I ever wanted to watch it because of the era it plays in, but what was so awful about Star Wars resistance?
Oh Okay this ask got me GOING so Welcome to my Tedtalk on my feelings on Star Wars Resistance; a story of Disappointment.
So Mr. Dave Filoni, the story telling Prince, left the show like halfway through production of the first season for other projects (For TCW season 7 and The Mandalorian). This left what was a promising show with characters Dave himself had created, in the hands of very inexperienced story board artist and writers. Personally, I think they panicked and half assed it so that Disney could make money on toys. Because.. idk. It just doesn't even come close to the emotional story arcs that TCW and Rebels gave us. and that's what Star Wars is supposed to be about. Changing for the better. Hope or some shit, am I right?
What was most disappointing in my opinion.. is that the protagonist, Kazudo Xiono, is UNBEARABLE. He is the EMBODIEMENT of privilege. This punk has had everything handed down to him from the moment he was born. He was born like 14 years after the Empire has been brought down and the New Republic reigns, so he has never known war. AND HIS DADDY IS THE SENATOR OF HOSNIAN PRIME FOR FUCKS SAKE! THE CAPITOL????? WHERE THE SENATE IS???? YOU KNOW HOW RICH THAT MUST MAKE HIs FaMiLY??? His dad literally gives him an allowance even though he is a grown ass man in the military when the show starts.
To put things into perspective for those not up to date on Sequel Era Lore and I envy you greatly tbh bcs not to be that person i do not like the sequels that's the equivalent of being the Senator of Coruscant in the Prequels!!!!
Not to mention he is a BUMBLING idiot. Like. This man has ADHD on steroids. As a person with ADHD it's.. lord, it's cringe. He is clumsy. He is loud. He says inappropriate things at the wrong time. He doesn't know how to do anything for himself. AND HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SPY FOR THE RESISTANCE UNDER COVER AS A MECHANIC???? HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT MECHANICS and really doesn't really learn anything about it by the time the show ends. And don't come at me saying this is a kids show so I cant complain about things being silly bcs I'm not the target audience. I can and I will bcs no one was NEARLY this obnoxious in TCW or Rebels. Kaz is Jarjar Level, but I ACTUALLY LIKE JARJAR!
DUDE IS A DAMN SPY HE DOESNT EVEN LIKE GO BY AN ALLIAS!!! HE DEADASS USES HIS REAL FULL NAME. BCS KAZ IS AN IDIOT.
I'm not saying he isn't a good person. Kaz is very sweet tbh. He's just an unknowing spoiled ass man-child who NEVER REALLY DEVELOPS INTO ANYTHING ELSE?????
Tumblr media
It would be okay if he entered the show like this and exited a more mature, capable man. But he really doesn't. There are never any consequences for his actions. Ever. Other than when he becomes a spy and, again, IS USING HIS REAL LEGAL NAME as a spy for the Resistance... to avoid a scandal and to scold him for LITERALLY DESERTING THE NAVY his daddy cuts him off from his allowance. So instead of half assing his cover job as a mechanic, Kaz has to actually apply himself so he can make money for food. He doesn't improve much. His co-workers (Who are MUCH more interesting than him) constantly complain about him messing things up and making their jobs more difficult.
Man, FUCK KAZ. MY HOMIES HATE KAZ. BEING HOT CAN ONLY GET YOU SO FAR!!!!!
At the Season one finale there is a moment where you think he is finally going to grow as a man! Grow into the protagonist we deserve! Tragedy, for the first time in his life, strikes Kaz! It's during the events of episode 7, when The First Order blows up Hosnian Prime. His home planet. Where his FATHER LIVES. He has a moment of humanity and he is devastated. He almost cries. But he sucks it up to finish the mission and get his friends off base for their safety. He is a man now. and the audience feels a sense of comradery for Kaz. After all, Star Wars is about Fathers. Kaz has lost his father forever. His father was KILLED by the First Order. He now, first hand, has experienced real loss for the first time and this is going to help him grow and toughen up. he has to live on his own now. Our hero has a reason to be doing what he's doing. Fighting against the first order.
BUT NAH. FAM. then the very next fucking EPISODE YOU FIND OUT HIS DAD IS FUCKING ALIVE AND THAT HE DIDNT ACTUALLY EXPEIRENCE THE LOSS THAT HE HAD THOUGHT, AND HE GOES RIGHT BACK TO BEING HIS GOOFY ASS CHILDISH SELF. NO. I HATED THAT. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR GROWTH. MAN FUCK RESISTANCE.
FUCK. IF ANYONE DESERVED THEIR FATHER TO LIVE THROUGH A DAMN PLANETORY DESTRUCTION IT WAS MY GIRL LEIA, NOT FUCKING KAZUDO THE CLOWN XIONO. FUCK. guys I'm sorry I just really hate this god damn character.
Like. Lemme break it down, folks.
TCW started and Ahsoka enters. I HATED Ahsoka for a long time. Bcs she was young, cocky and annoying. But that was on purpose. Narratively, she experiences loss, she experiences pain and GROws as a character while navigating her Jedi life during the war. Our girl grows into the capable protagonist that we EXPECT out of a Star Wars story.
Same for Rebels. We meet Ezra, and he's not quite as annoying as Ahsoka was at first in my opinion (I cannot stress how much I did not care for Ahsoka yall) but he was young. He was childish. But he was more capable at 14 than fucking Kaz was at 20. By the end of Rebels, not only is he more wise and capable, but he is selfless. He has found his own path and it's only because of what he has gone through. His journey has made him stronger. Ezra is my favorite Star Wars journey, if I'm being honest. He is the perfect example of character development.
KAZUDO XIONO ENTERS SEASON ONE AS A 20 YEAR OLD MAN-CHILD USING DADDY'S MONEY WHO IS LOUD AND DOESNT KNOW WHEN THE STFU... AND EXITS THE FINALE... AS A LOUD MAN-CHILD WHO CAN NOW USE TOOLS. He doesn't' experience REAL FAMILIAL loss. He doesn't really experience a lot of character development at all. Things just happen around him, he helps, but he doesn't learn. He doesn't grow. I fucking hate that.
Literally every single character in the show BESIDEs Kaz is more interesting than him. and EXPEIRENCE CHARACTER GROWTH!!!
Jarek Yeager, Kaz's boss in the mechanic shop, was in the Rebellion and LOST HIS FAMILY. He is a sexy ass man too. HE starts the show not wanting to help the Resistance at all bcs he's experienced loss since his days in the Rebellion, and his heart is hard and he's comfortable. By the end of the show he is risking not just his career, but his VERY LIFE to help the Resistance.
Tam Ryvora, Kaz's co-worker. Daughter figure to Yeager and a total bad ass woman of color. She is the one on the show who experiences the most character development and struggles to find her identity while the First Order is taking over the galaxy. I LOVE her.
There are these 2 kids who are force sensitive and orphaned after Kylo Ren comits GENOCIDE on their planet. This arc set up is never fully addressed nor does it have a conclusion, like most story arcs on this show tbh.
There's a literal witch for some reason??
There's this fucking rad ass sexy Mirilian Pirate girl named Synara who FOR SOME REASON is suggested to be Kaz's love interest. Gross. Girl, you gay. Move in.
I could go on and on and on. But I wont. Fuck this show. Fuck Kaz. It literally adds NOTHING to the bigger Star Wars lore. TCW and Rebels do this beautifully and this show is a hot mess of ideas and characters that never come to a satisfying story telling conclusion.
Thanks for coming to my tedtalk, dont watch Resistance.
