thinking about how, deliberately so or not, rose just keeps getting left behind. her mother’s death. that conversation with hal—whose company she clearly enjoys, who perhaps she thought was starting to care about her—saying “if broadway called tomorrow, i would sell this fucking house, and i would never think about any of these people ever again” and the way her face falls. lyta’s choice of a false dream life with hector, leaving rose alone in the waking. gilbert’s flight from the cereal convention where he and rose were looking for jed together, not even having the time to tell her in person or give her a reason. and finally, unity’s death, for rose. i can’t imagine rose didn’t blame herself at least somewhat for that.

Okay but think about it for a second. If Dream and Lucifer know each other the way we headcanon they do, just imagine Lucifer and Death.

Their realms certainly overlap a lot more than Hell and The Dreaming ever would, and Death has probably been there countless times before. Not to mentions back when Lucifer was still an angel.

Death is sweet and charismatic, Lucifer is charming and cunning. I just wanna see them together. I feel like Death can carry a deeper level of understanding for literally everyone more than anyone else. Including the devil. I don’t think she’d see them as Evil, or even bad at all. All I’m saying is that Lucifer deserves to see Deaths sweet smile every day and walk with her with their arms linked.

i love wanda so much. her favorite color is tacky flamingo. she wants to know how you milk a soybean. she Cannot Be Seen with a cute frog mug. her vocabulary and voice are so distinctive on the page. her coffee always tastes like something died in it but she can make a mean chocolate soufflé. when she was little she wanted to be grow up to be a bizarro. she may not always be kind but she is absolutely compassionate. she’s snarky and lovely and vibrant and vulnerable and certain of herself and a wonderful gem in the sandman’s cast of vivid characters

thinking about how unity technically lived less years than rose. she fell asleep when she was about twelve. so when unity sacrificed herself for rose, it wasn’t like she’d lived a long and full life and had made peace with death. when she woke up she told her solicitor “looks like i’m going to have a life after all.” she was so excited to live!! i don’t think this consideration would have made her any less willing to give herself up for rose, but it does add an element of tragedy that kicks me in the stomach
