Here is a small list of things that happened at the 2021 Requiem Ball:
Val and Skul definitely danced together, in the same way that he danced with China in Death Bringer
Val got slightly tipsy - not enough to do anything really stupid but enough to get absolutely grilled by Skul the next day. In case you were wondering, drunk val is basically just an even more savage version of sober val, so you can imagine the kind of unfiltered comments that she made towards certain guests
AU Serpine was not invited but decided to invite himself anyway
Feel free to reblog with any further 2021 Requiem Ball headcanons

He always was one dedicated to the practice of alchemy, devoted to the knowledge of it like no other. It made her feel better, knowing she had such a powerful ally in her corner, and a RELIABLE friend. Amicia wasn't entirely ignorant to the practice, but most things certainly did go over her head-- way over, even.
"If you think it would help." She gave in without a fuss, and perhaps, that would have been one's greatest hint in knowing that something wasn't right. But Lucas knew that already, else, why would he favor giving her his attention, instead of continuing his notes from prior? "W-what do they look like? We can look for them, together."
It would be good to keep herself busy. She wasn't so keen on staying put for a moment longer.
Really, she would rather be doing something more proactive for their situation-- getting Hugo the help he NEEDED. The longer she waited around, the more tempting it was to leap out the nearest window, Hugo in tow, and merely continue to seek out answers for herself, as she had done before.
THAT would be stupid, especially in her current state.
She's done more stupid things in the past, though.
"I'd assume you have a picture of them in that book of yours?" She nodded towards the discarded book, only to WINCE shortly after. The action, though barely one at all, was enough to jar her head and make her feel dizzy. The world felt as if it had shifted from underneath her, and for a moment, the brunette had to brace herself against where she now sat. For all the pain she felt, the most prominent expression on her face was annoyance above all else.
ANNOYED at being rendered helpless.
"Stupid--" She muttered, brows twitching in time with her flared anger. "F-flowers. Those flowers. Let's find them."

This was the type of company he was used to, even if it had always been in smaller numbers...and only his siblings. In many ways, all of this was new to him, but it was so familiar all the same. He only wished he could have brought his husband--but he didn’t want to draw attention to himself. Bringing Suzaku would be like demanding a spotlight.
It didn’t exactly surprise him when the occasional woman came over to ask him to dance...He probably did look lonely, standing on his own by the wall...away from everyone.
But...if Suzaku found out he didn’t try dancing at all, would he be upset? He’d want him to try having fun, at least...

You know how upon meeting Valkyrie Never immediately tells her that his mum met her once when she was sixteen and always described her as incredibly arrogant? I'm just thinking about that situation. Val was sixteen. Sixteen. She was a teenager who'd recently been thrown through a bunch of traumatic experiences again, as was usual throughout the past several years. She literally showed up to the Requiem Ball still injured from her latest altercation. Everyone knew about this. Never's mother knew about this. And she looked at this kid, this sixteen year old teenager with entirely too many responsibilities having her first nice night out in literal ages and having fun and being a bit edgy as teenagers are, and all she could think about was how arrogant this kid seemed to her. Do you ever think about that.
