i tried to draw the new dark choco design but got so overwhelmed this was all i could do to show my feelings without bursting into tears

I don't usually post art here but this Barbie Movie poster was making the rounds and my first thought was how into it Vala would be and the thought would not leave my head until I made this

the horrifying implications of Cinderpelt as a pawn of Starclan- trying everything she can to unsuccessfully stop her apprentice from leaving because she's terrified of the internalised idea of "failing" her clan and her job due to her impending death, while unaware that the entire Crowpool situation is intentional by Starclan for their own benefit to initiate the Power of Three prophecy and that her death in itself is to be Leafpool's motivation to stay- the idea that the stars, the ancestors and family and friends she devoted her life to always meant for her to die young and hopeless and were willing to manipulate her emotionally for the best outcome for them- is alone a piece of her character that's infinitely more heartwrenching and tragic and interesting than "she actually had a crush on Firestar and she's sad she can't date him :((" and I'm so mad that the latter is her primary legacy instead of any interpretations of her as a character that go beyond boring forbidden romance #17 that was barely even implied to begin with

not gonna lie I sometimes feel strange posting baldi art in 2023. Like I know is not my fault that I didn't know about fandoms and stuff but seeing some old posts of fans having fun when baldis basics was so popular and posting arts and stuff and seeing people interacting with each other with their baldi blogs and...i don't know. I feel like I missed so much fun. I feel like a fake fan because I didn't join the fandom sooner and when I see people mention some events that happened in the fandom I just. can't say anything because I wasn't there (or either I don't remember that much?)

Let me tell you that Aziraphales storyline hit me like a freight train. As someone who is at long last opening to indulging and obtaining things for the joy of it, because they matter to some little part of your soul, learning to be present in one's body and feel and the unbridled, sweet joy of wanting to grab life by the lapels and how thrilling it is to be yourself, silly, funny, heart on the sleeve, after the confines of trying to be Good by someone else's standards...crossing those boundaries is scary and uncharted but the adrenaline of breathing freely!!!

I know "he" is just a fictional being, a composit of two writers, a script, an actor's interpretation of it and the filter of someone making a 1s gif. But if I can believe I too can have that little radiant glimmer in my eye and be utterly loveable for my silly antics, then I'll take that crutch.

… ground zero, i think. i got into undertale a little bit before the first anniversary, which is… oh my god like seven-eight years ago now. forget sans and papyrus, my bones are creaking.

thing is right, i was always a little isolated from the rest of the fandom?? like i wasn’t able to make art i was proud of so i never posted anything, and all i really did was desperately consume comic dubs on youtube and do really shitty roleplays to try and fill the void. it was a different time (in old man voice). if i do even have any of those old drawings, they either died on a laptop drive somewhere or got lost in a box 😔 otherwise i’d share my shame.

(honestly that might have come a few years later though, those days are kind of a blur that i can’t remember.)

after that i fell outta it, but i don’t remember exactly when? i’d come and go, but that’s just how fandoms be sometimes. i think the first peak of my fandom involvement miiiight have been 2016?

man. now i’m nostalgic again, lmao.

If anyone would like an idea of how tiny the Rik and Ade fandom is: I've been hanging around here like a bad smell for about four and half years now and, in that time, the ao3 tag for The Young Ones has nearly doubled in size. If things continue at their current rate of progress - which, of course, they won't, but entertain my notion - you can expect to have a whole five hundred TYO fics on ao3 at some point in late 2028. You spoiled people, you!

i get emotional 'cause writing is my one big passion (other than chickens) and i really want to share it with people and sometimes i feel like i'm failing to convey it and connect with people the way i really want to connect with people. that's all <3 <3
