There is a Swiss group called Les Enfants de Macguyver and they actually built a life-size Stargate, complete with moving chevrons and all the lights. (A Pegasus gate was also done as—one hell of—a side project.) They have a website and are on a bunch of social media, here's their YouTube channel.
It's insanely well done, they had access to lots of the original parts, and the specs are all correct. Go and give them some love!

The reason I find Stargate sg1 as such a comfort show though is because it’s earth as we know it, but expanded to include the sci-fi? If that makes sense? Like Star Trek, Star Wars, Farscape, and Babylon 5 are all great, but to mentally put myself in those universes I’m giving up the comfort of my own universe as it is now. Those shows don’t expand our world for sci-fi, they replace it with sci-fi. If you’re mentally in Star Trek’s universe, you are so far removed from everything you know about real life. What I’m trying to say is: Sg1 is the ultimate comfort sci-fi because, at any point, you can leave the sci-fi and be at your own home in a world you understand. That make sense?

Teal'c begging off the tour by saying that Sam needs him for maths is never not funny. 🤣🤣 But don't worry your girl has your back. One thing about season 6+ is them finally expanding on Sam and Teal'c underdeveloped friendship.
